That Maui Happy hours website that someone else posted also has an app on Android and Apple.

Most of the jobs are in Honolulu. There are some available on island, but seems like more work remotely with companies from the mainland.
County and state job listings may be a good bet. I've not seen much on craiglists, but I've also not been looking.
There's this non-standard offer that is somewhere between intriguing and insulting.
There's also Tech Jobs Hawaii or the usual suspects.
The /r/HawaiiJobs doesn't get a lot of activity at this point.
I'd love to see more tech on the island, so good luck!
I'm either spending too much time around breweries or not enough.
On Saturday I was driving up the Moke towards Kahalui and saw 6 huge cylinders driving towards Kihei. To me the cylinders looked like they couldn't be anything but for lots and lots of beer.
Turns out I was right.
I find it cute that Maui Brewing bought their new brewery a birthday/christmas present. Also, that's 6 x 250 bbl fermenting tanks, which makes for 1,500 barrel more production capacity. I hope this lets them can something like the double overhead.
I proposed to my fiancee at the Kealia Pond National Wildlife Refuge. There is a beach next to the boardwalk there. Pretty secluded spots there, especially compared to the other beaches at sunset.
...wat
the only reason i even said anything about august/september is because you asked in your post.
the price you see on google flights is what you're going to get. the flights are basically always full so they have no reason to come down on price.
you can find better prices on slickdeals... but you will notice a pattern. pretty much all of them are last week of aug - nov..
> Lahaina or Kaanapali area. Any specific tips for there? do most stores stock any sort of craft beer or just Maui Brewing stuff?
That's just south of Maui Brewing's brewpub, so that might be a good place for you to start.
I rarely head out to that side of the island so I've got less first hand knowledge there. The grocery stores all carry at least some of the bigger craft brews (Sierra Nevada, Sam Adams, Deschutes, etc.) and it'll be a rare store that won't carry some cans of Maui Brewing's Bikini Blonde and Coconut Porter. Beer is sold in grocery stores, costco, gas stations and even ABC stores.
The good news is the island's not huge so on any given day you'll be likely to be passing some of the above stores.
There's starting to be a bunch more from the Maui | Stone partnership. So I'm starting to see a lot of Stone's excellent IPAs and a bunch of other great things.
Sounds like you may be well served by stopping at Whole Foods on your way to Lahaina. Here's a picture of a portion of their selection.
Google flights doesn't lie.

$750 is high. Also, August won't be any cheaper until after school starts.

Been using this Combo since early 2017 and it’s been working fine ever since
Any questions feel free to PM
Congrats on the coming nuptials.
This trail is in a pretty remote area. To get to you will need to take the Road to Hana (either North or South way). Neither are particularly fast roads. In general you should plan a whole day for the whole road plus the trail. The trail can get muggy and rainy in the late afternoons, so morning to early afternoon seems like a fine time. The hike itself is 4 miles and takes a couple of hours (longer if you linger).
If you're not interested in the Road to Hana, driving the south way there and back may be faster depending on where you're staying.
Sunrise is a slow crisp glow that gradually illuminates the crater in golds and reds. Sunset tends to be more about the rest of Maui turning golds and reds. Both are awesome.
It takes at least 2 hours to drive from Kihei to the peak of Haleakala. If doing sunrise, get there well before to ensure you can find a parking spot.
Sounds like you're tight on time. Maui's laid back. Trying to cram everything in will likely result in frustration. Take it easy and enjoy some downtime.
Pipiwai and Twin Falls are my favorite. Both are moderate for all ages and very picturesque.
This app shows a good description of some nice hikes, especially the ones in East Maui.

I recommend the Gypsy app guide which gives you info on the Road to Hana, up to the Crater, and lots of other places on the island. You install it, start it, and it works automatically and you don't have to fiddle with a CD. We had this in October and it was awesome.

was just there for sound check of Pit Bull
Appreciate the input. I am definitely looking at the estimated delivery date, it's just always super late. I have 8 items I'm waiting on and every one is 10-12 days estimated from the day of purchase. Perhaps I am just unlucky? For example, look at this phone case:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B09YMV3TXX/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o06_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
If I bought it today I wouldn't get it until the 31st. Are you seeing this too?
At this point I am just trying to figure out if my Prime account is messed up and not giving me the shipping benefit. I talked to support but they were no help and just gave canned responses.
Raw elements has a good one. Expensive but if you use it just for your face it will go a long way.

Get a spf swim shirt instead! That’s the only (that I know) way to not pollute water with sunscreen. When we showed up to our snorkel dive in Hawaii with these the captain gave us a special 🤙 for it, but that’s really all I know.

I didn’t camp, but did pass one of the cabins a little past midway. I think the cabins are in high demand, so you’ll have a hard time getting one. I haven’t seen the primitive campsites - next time, I’d love to do that!
Here’s my hike: https://www.alltrails.com/explore/recording/haleakala-crater-trail--32?p=-1
Talk to the rangers - have them trace out your path on map. Then, you park at the lower lot, and hitchhike to them upper one. The park rangers will tell you the same. It’s legal at that one spot. From the top, take in the scenes, then start down Sliding Sands Trail. Feel sorry for the poor bastards walking back up - it’s the grueling way out.
I strongly recommend a hat and tons of sunscreen - even on your legs. My legs ended up red as lobster, as if I had fallen asleep on the beach. Also, bring a rain jacket. I was unfortunate, and caught a bit of one of the hurricanes. Oh, and trekking poles are nice to have. They’ll save your ankles when you’re traversing rocky areas, and if you have to take the switchbacks out in the rain like I did, you’ll feel a lot safer!
I wasn’t in hiking shape that day. The hike was fine, but I could barely walk for a few days after. Totally worth it!
We kind of alternate between the hoy hoy traps and this stuff, works great: Syngenta 383920 Advion Cockroach Gel Bait 4 X 30 Gram Tubes Roach Control, 4 30, Brown https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0148W0WOE/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_702R89AHDBHY8569VJEH
dang there are a lot thanks to my bing search, all in one spot, 6 or 7 of them in lahaina alone, 3 of them right by the water next to kamehameha iki park

Were you looking for something beyond yelp or tripadvisor reviews to decide? they all have 4.5 to 5 stars
my boyfriend and I found aloha cottages right as night fell because it was pouring and we decided it would be a terrible idea to drive back at the time, haha. everything else was full up besides this place. it's run by the sweetest Japanese couple (the wife gave us a lot of bananas randomly). we got a house for something outrageous like $70 a night. (yeah, a house!) it had a beautiful view. there was a living room, a kitchen, a dining room, one bathroom and one bedroom. the house we got would fit your family. however, I found the beds and furniture to be kind of dingy, so I chose to sleep on the couch instead of the bed. you'll see what I mean in some of the reviews.
who knows, maybe this one could work for you guys.
Lots of stuff on Trivago.com in the $200 range.
i can't give personal experience with sprint, only tmobile, but yeah, pretty much that. check out https://opensignal.com/ for an idea of what you're in for (brotip: sprint ranks last in coverage).
if you have google maps you can download offline maps for the entire island so you can navigate without data. i'm assuming navigation is what you are more concerned vs. being able to make phone calls to people in time zones 5+ hours away.
do you by any chance know how to code? or are willing to learn, or even to try no-code tools like webflow.com? you have an awesome opportunity in front of you - literally living in paradise while one of you has an income.
get on the indie-maker bandwagon! if you have any ideas for a website, app, etc, at all, now is your time!! check out indiehackers.com for inspiration and TONS of helpful people!

These probably get whipped into a windstream and fall out of the sky pretty fast...
Cressi is good, but today it's all about the full-face snorkel mask: https://www.amazon.com/Seaview-Panoramic-Traditional-Prevents-Tubeless/dp/B01CJ5088M/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1471115631&sr=8-3&keywords=snorkel+full+face
Not sure if this is allowed on here...but this stuff is legit. Learned the hard way.
Most aloe creams/gels have a lot of alcohol in them - not the fun kind - so they don't really help that much. Check the first ingredient of the big name brands. Look for a cream where aloe is the first ingredient, like the one above.
We recently stayed at the Kapalua Villas and loved it. You can drive anywhere and do most anything during the day but it does help to plan. I've been there several times but still learned a few new things from Maui Revealed
Wife and I took our not quite 2 year old daughter to Wailea in 2013.
Beach (bring a little folding kids beach tent!), pools, Paia, eucalyptus forest and scenery on the road up Haleakala (but don't bring a toddler all the way up the volcano, the air gets too thin for them!)
Shop browsing on the northwest coast, a family friendly luau where they let kids go dance on stage at a certain time, walking through expensive hotel lobbies :-)
Also nighttime stroller walks along the Wailea beach path was so peaceful.
This is the tent we brought - it greatly extends the amount of time you can spend on the beach with a young kid: Schylling Infant UV Play Shade https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0014I4TYA/
Holy shit, as a random passer byer, this story had build up and then was just perfectly ended, for my sake and yours, so glad he recovered it. ~~Get a floating handle or back!~~
EDIT: Looks like you had both. Wife and I picked up this: [http://www.amazon.com/EEEKit-Accessories-Extendable-Monopod-Floating/dp/B00LAVA2OW]
That floating handle seems really strong, so glad you found your camera.
