This is the 3D software I use! It's amazing and 100% free! And then I plop those 3D models into Unreal game engine and set up stuff like movement and interactions.
Ah yes i cant see it either, gladly I still remember the post (i'll try to find the link to the article in mt history) but it was an article from some tech website that does like interviews with developers and such and it was about the marketing guy at HeR and the article was saying the company is in trouble as the new ventures of the company caused a lot of people to be laid off and they are now in financial trouble. the interesting this is that that article is like a year old it was posted in 2015if i'm not mistaken
EDIT: I FOUND THE ARTICLE! its from a website called GeekWire http://www.geekwire.com/2015/maker-of-award-winning-nancy-drew-games-cuts-staff-cites-changing-market-conditions-in-game-industry/
My husband is the worst gift-giver ever so I have to tell him what to buy. (Like if you ever walk past something in a store and wonder "who would ever buy that?", that's the kind of stuff he buys.) This is the Nancy gift on my list this year:
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07NPZLR91
I think your idea of customized mugs is a great one! Someone recently posted a link to a coffee mug (also from Amazon, I think) that said "Can't check that off yet".
If you know anyone who sews or does needle work, there are some super cute Nancy needle minders on Etsy. Etsy in general is an awesome resource for Nancy gifts! I have seen some super cute tote bags there, which are always good gifts since they're both fun and practical.
Get an external disk drive like this one on Amazon
Make sure that it’s compatible and all that because the games are older. Happy gaming!
Her Story is an excellent game and really unique. Maybe my favorite game.
Someone on here recommended Thimbleweed Park, it is really good! Syberia series is excellent, and Part 3 is coming out this month. Also the Adventures of Bertram Fiddle.
I have enjoyed discovering old games, they may not have snazzy graphics, but the stories are soooo much better. Ben Jordan Paranormal Investigator (free off the developer site) and A Golden Wake by the same guy has an excellent story, but not many puzzles (depends what you like)
Laura Bow is a really old murder/mystery game I found recently, that is like Nancy Drew and it is fun to see what old games were like. You need a program like Boxer in order to play it. You can get it here for free: http://www.abandonia.com/en/search_abandonia/laura+bow
Also HeR did a game on the Vampire Diaries (book) in the 90s, it has live actors instead of hand drawn animation and is kind of fun. I found it online somewhere.
A Vampyre Story has really good dialogue and is very funny. Scratches is point and click paranormal ghost game that is really scary.
It is now up to 500-1,000 installs, but still.
Also there are a bunch of new coding apps for toddlers that are free, so HeR doesnt have a corner on the market anymore. Compare C&C to this one that has 100,000-500,000 installs. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.codespark.thefoos&hl=en
I dont see how C&C will ever take off. It has no replay value and seems like a 2006 pc game on mobile, as opposed to mobile native.
I found an app called Color Flood. I dunno if its the same but its similar enough that you might like it.
i know you said games similar to the ones in the series, but just in case you didn’t know you can actually buy a scopa deck here on amazon!
I was in the same boat a few weeks ago and couldn’t find it online anywhere! Ended up finding a used copy on eBay and running it with this external CD drive I found on Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07MJW5BXZ?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
The only game you can run on natively on the latest OS is Midnight in Salem, otherwise you will need to mess around with bootcamp or virtual pcs. Better to just get a PC.
If you want a good PC that is very cheap, there are some Chinese brands they sell on Amazon that are good. I got a Teclast for around 300$ with a coupon, also Chuwi is a good brand.
This is the one I bought, if you look for something with similar specs it will play all the ND games (not sure about MID, never tried it)
Idk what your budget is but you could get this 2’x4’ flat panel light and put on a window film you like.
i bought a Teclast for around 300

(its amazon italy, but they sell worldwide on amazon)
It's perfect for games like Nancy Drew. I played the new Hercule Poirot game, and it worked, too.
Hey, I just bought a refurbished dell pc for $385 for this exact purpose 😹 Dell Latitude E6530 Laptop, Intel... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07TCJ4MBR?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
I just finished playing the white wolf of icicle creek on it with no problems. I’m currently trying to download Stay Tuned for Danger, and having some trouble installing. It might be solvable by more google searching by so gar haven’t had luck
You could get something like this as a snack, no idea if they're disgusting though:

The basket is such a cute idea! There are also vendors on Etsy who will do stamped spoons with a custom message if you want to include a spoon to stir the tea with - you could do a classic Nancy-ism like "it's locked" or something else that is meaningful.
I have all mine running on an HP Pavilion I bought specifically for light gaming purposes (Nancy drew/ sims). this one specifically
This is the jigsaw I did - I really enjoyed it! You had to complete the jigsaw, which has differences to the picture on the box - and then there are six sort of puzzles to solve that result in you removing certain pieces and putting them together to complete the story - it was a really original idea and it was nice that it lasted over a few days as I did bits of the jigsaw here and there! Ravensburger Escape Room Jigsaw
The EXIT games were The Enchanted Forest and The Sunken Treasure which both happen to be Level 2, and I have an Adventure Game called The Volcanic Island to do as well. With the EXIT games I bought them based on name before I realised there were so many and that there were different levels! So I will be doing the same as you and going back and working up because it’s more pleasing!!
I'm not OP but I have both and I got them on Amazon:
https://www.amazon.com/Cobble-Hill-Pieces-26-625-X19-25/dp/B07BS349PV
https://www.amazon.com/Cobble-Hill-Vintage-Nancy-Puzzle/dp/B01MZC1UAE
They are fun puzzles and fit together well. They do have that chemical puzzle stink but pretty much all puzzles do these days.
Miss Fortune is a great adult mystery book! It’s based in 1947 I believe. It’s really good! Here’s a link to amazon, but you can probably get it cheaper on ebay. https://www.amazon.com/Miss-Fortune-Allie-Mystery-Book/dp/0802469264
Thank you! It was a birthday gift (my love of Nancy Drew is well known 😅) but I found the same one on Amazon here: COBBLE HILL Nancy Drew Jigsaw Puzzle (1000 Piece) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00PO44XT6/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_o-yzDb13B3XG8
Can someone more computer savvy than me let me know if I'll be able to play? I have a Dell Inspiron 5559 laptop (Windows 10). Please and Thank You!!!! Here is a link that includes the specs... I'm just not a computer person. I know the 8 GB RAM should be enough but I'm clueless on the rest of it.
Thank you! It’s 1,000 pieces. I got it as a birthday gift, but I found the same one on Amazon here: COBBLE HILL Nancy Drew Jigsaw Puzzle (1000 Piece) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00PO44XT6/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_o-yzDb13B3XG8
I am not sure if this is what you are looking for, but try amazon, they have lots of used games. Check with the seller before buying to make sure it is in the box you want.
You can download it from Amazon for $6.99, which is a pretty good deal if you ask me. It's cheaper than if you order directly from HerInteractive.
