Seems like Youtube ditching Fit-to-Crop button and implementing Pinch-to-Zoom, I had the button yesterday and this morning it disappeared. Downloaded latest Youtube apk forum here: https://www.apkmirror.com/apk/google-inc/youtube/youtube-12-44-52-release/youtube-12-44-52-2-android-apk-download/download/
Now I have Pinch-to-Zoom
Check out NavBar Apps in addition to the tips others have. It makes the Navbar transparent on Nova, and makes it color match the current app anywhere else.
Here'show it makes my nova and reddit sync look:

Personally, I liked the Samsung LED Wallet case:
https://www.amazon.com/Samsung-Galaxy-Note8-Wallet-Black/dp/B074G8TPY2
It's slim, has a premium fabric feel, and provides a lot of scratch protection without needing to install a screen protector. The only issue is that it doesn't provide much drop support, so this is mainly good for utility (better grip, slot for credit card, some screen protection) and (subejctively) looks and feel.
Thanks for the update! I ended up going with the Spigen Neo Hybrid Crystal Galaxy Note 8 Case. It's clear with the blue bumpers, so it shows off the phone. It's probably not my first choice, but it protects and shows off the deep sea blue. I'm not sure if I'm going to get a screen protector, but let me see how much I'm going to expose my phone to the world...
I use the Whitestone Dome Glass. The process to put it on is a little hard, but once it's on there, it's the best damn screen protector ever. I use it on my Note8 and had it on my S8+. Here's the link...

2.5-3ml? Hmm so something like this would work then? https://www.amazon.com/Octopus-Glue-Optically-Adhesive-ORIGINAL/dp/B015OYQ4VA/ref=sr_1_6?ie=UTF8&qid=1506006323&sr=8-6&keywords=Octopus+Loca+glue
What viscosity was the glue you used?
Don't worry about burn ins, you use your device all the time, so it won't happen. You just get burn ins if everything stays the same for long time on your display.
In my case I completely got rid of the navbar, so there will be never a navbar. I just use gestures to control my device. I used Edge Gestures on my device and now I use Xposed Edge on my rooted device, (because the latter offers more options, but does the same and much much more).
I can highly recommend them :3
The play store. Here's a link. :)
It's super customizable. It learns as you type over time (can be disabled too), supports the swype style of texting, etc. Offers different themes and keyboard sizes.
So you're just using this one? It doesn't work when I shortpress the Bixby button while my phone is unlocked or locked.
Thanks for the feedback. You can try one of these professional call recorder apps - boldbeast or ACR by Null.
It seems they use a kludge which might work for the Note 8:
S Note does have Evernote sync. You have to install "S Note" by going to the play store or the samsung apps thing.
This S Note app by Samsung does have Evernote integration:

Not sure if you've seen it, but I might suggest to add on Sesame Shortcuts for a great way to easily access all your apps/shortcuts (including custom ones you can create). It costs a few bucks but has a free trial. Can integrate with Nova, and there's a beta for an edge-type quick access (across all apps). It is very fast, intuitive, and well-made.
