Try this? https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.boldbeast.recorder
Works great on Galaxy S8+ without root. Also worked well on 6P before, but that phone was also rooted. I paid for a license many years ago (lifetime license)...
Not OP, but I've been using Boldbeast call recorder for a couple of years with no issues. Free version you have to manually hit the record button for each call, or the pro unlock is £9 that gives you extra features like that.
Some phones might need root access to be able to hook into the calls, it depends on the manufacturer and ROM since some devices have parts of android that enable things like that cut out of them. They have a big list of known working settings for a lot of the main players, too.
And since call recorders are a persnickety bunch, and what works for some phones doesn't on others, I'll leave the one I use, here.
One of these is bound to work for you, right?
I found out dealing with Charter harassing me for equipment I returned to them that recording the call gets you to the correct person immediately. By "correct" I mean past the phone jockey who is paid to pitch you an upgraded package and to reboot your modem to someone who has the ability to log tickets and do things. They're recording you already.
Just be extremely careful with how you go about this, because if you actually record the call illegally you can be in deep shit. At a minimum, assume 2-party consent is required, gain consent before you start recording, then reiterate it once you do start recording. Read from a script you've written yourself, and don't let yourself get flustered.
I personally found it easier than dealing with snail mail given they called daily.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.boldbeast.recorder - Just record as the default format, VLC can play it because of course it can.
I've been using Boldbeast
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.boldbeast.recorder
Works perfectly fine but you have to press the record button to start. But the button is on the dialer
Boldbeast (Completely Free), based in Canada
Adds a floating record button that automatically appears when a call is in progress.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.boldbeast.recorder&hl=en_US
Using for years and is very reliable with great recording quality.
If you are paranoid about this or any company listening install a (non)root firewall app and block internet access for the recording app and manually move the recordings to Drive.
Use Boldbeast
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.boldbeast.recorder&hl=en
Requires you to restart and test it a few times, but once it's set up it's good to go forever. Used it for about 3 years now.
Stumbled upon the same issue, CM13 here.
TL;DR - there is, if you're ready to pay.
Some apps work, for example Call Recorder - Boldbeast, but that particular app sucks, IMO.
Also, people say that some Xposed module should re-enable the recording feature for ACR and others, but... It's not updated to 6.x.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.boldbeast.recorder
This App works the best that i've found, records seemlessly, encrypts the files, hides them so your music app wont play them accidentaly and one has to enter a password to get to the screen to play the recordings. Call also work to record voice like a memo recorder or just record the area around the phone.
Well, I think just about any legitimate app designed for this will work, as long as you give it accessibility rights... I don't think I've tried this one, but maybe you can give it a shot, test call your home phone or something similar, and let the rest of us know how it goes? But yeah, try different free ones.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.boldbeast.recorder&hl=en
It's alright. ☹ Thank you for looking!
I know that there's another application by the same developer (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.boldbeast.recorder) that has a custom patch available through LuckyPatcher, but it does not work on this application and I do not have enough knowledge of how Android app patching works to see if the app is similar enough to use a slightly modified version or needs something totally new.
Try this one, it has settings to try to hack around unrooted phones, and usually works...
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.boldbeast.recorder
Works very well, either rooter, or unrooted... Costs about $10 if I remember right... They still update it, but I removed it from my phone when they added native call recording to my Android...
Usually China ROM has different firmware and structure, dirty flashing will probably result in a lot of ANR's / crashes. And apps that rely on DRM (spotify, netflix, etc) will ask to login again anyway.
Try https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.boldbeast.recorder
Used this app sometime back and it worked perfectly for me. And the support was also good.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.boldbeast.recorder
Was possible in the past, and now almost impossible, unless you have a rooted device. If you do, try this:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.boldbeast.recorder&hl=en
Free version has a 4.1 rating and the paid version has a 2.7. Yikes! I am a long time BoldBeast recorder before I discovered the Magisk root version. I'll play with it verse the free one and see which is better.
Thanks.
I use Bold Beast Recorder and haven't had an issue on any device so far and my current OnePlus 6T has Android 9. My Nexus 6 I had to tweak some settings to get it to pick up the incoming call audio, but it's never failed otherwise.
Thank you for your reply!
As mentioned, this one works well with recording on 9.0 + Magisk root, though lacking most features that made ACR my go-to for years. Keeping my fingers crossed you'll be able to at least give us rooted users a hope.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.boldbeast.recorder
A little late, but I've had zero problems using this one that's on the play store : https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.boldbeast.recorder
Some phones might need root access to properly record, mostly depends on how the manufacturer configured parts of android.
I am suffering from this too, and what make sit worse is I have 2 phones, one for work and one for personal. My personal phone is getting it the worst mostly travel agencies. I took a trip recently and my number must have been sold when I booked. So the last call I got enabled my phones recorder (Boldbeast Recorder for Android if anyone is interested). I asked the 'kid' what the name of their company was because I want to start keeping track if it's the same one since I know that if they do not remove you when asked and they call 3 times they are supposed to pay you $500. Or so I read here on reddit. Here is the actual recording of his response:
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1lo4lGXoSXMB9bsyxvIlNngVYgJS8jn48/view?usp=sharing
Yep, he told me to go fuck myself!
The only way I could get this phone to record clearley is with Boldbeast using Alsa recording mode but it requires root.
Tip: if Alsa mode is grayed out just go to Call Settings | Fix Recording Issues | Enable Rooted Options.
Some phones don't permit direct access to the incoming audio (see here for Google's stupid reason, and to star the bug), so all that can be captured is the microphone, which usually faintly picks up the speaker, too. It does the job of covering my ass in case I need evidence or to occasionally recall something, because my Pixel's audio can still be discerned with effort. But it'd sure be more annoying if I was trying to enjoy a playlist of my phone calls or something.
Make sure you try all the recording options. Sometimes one will manage to tap directly into incoming audio. It's also possible to do that by rooting your phone and installing an app that does ALSA recording like the BoldBeast one.
Android Oreo has a new feature that is intended to allow conference calls between a regular phone call and any app, e.g. Skype. I expect to see recording apps that use this facility once Oreo is more widespread.
Thanks for the feedback. You can try one of these professional call recorder apps - boldbeast or ACR by Null.
It seems they use a kludge which might work for the Note 8:
I have tried a few but the best in my opinion is BoldBeast Call Recorder. There is an option to set it to record automatically but I like having the option. It creates a floating/movable button that I press to start recording or it can be set to double tap to start. The best part about this app is each phone is unique and most recorders will work out of the box, but some have issues picking up the sound since not all phones and speakers are created alike BoldBeast has many settings to tweak it to your phone's needs. They also have a good community to find what settings will work with your phone. I have a LG V20 and my settings are stock and it works fine. It also has a memo option which I have yet to use but it's nice.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.boldbeast.recorder&hl=en
Bold Beast.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.boldbeast.recorder&hl=en
Really easy to use. It's not automatic recording every call but it has an on screen recording button during a call that you can press and it will record on both sides.
There are apps on the play store, but it looks like you'll need root for them to work with the pixel based on the store listing.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.boldbeast.recorder
Honestly, putting the device on speakerphone and using an external audio recorder might just be easier.
If you wanted to try call recorder, first, I use boldbeast without root, and it works really well. Might also, for you, perhaps. :)
Literally the first search that came up and it lists the devices that are supported in non-root method: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.boldbeast.recorder&hl=en
Galaxy S4 and some of its variants are mentioned. But it looks like only Verizon and ATT are supported. Tmobile will most likely require root
Boldbeast link for the lazy: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.boldbeast.recorder
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.boldbeast.recorder
Better than any other call recorder I've used.
Boldbeast. No root needed for your s5.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.boldbeast.recorder
Which device and Android version do you use ?Google and Motorola devices usually fail to record calls.
And starting from Android 9, all devices have serious issues recording calls via apps (Google tightened the "security").
I wrote about this here .
But if you wish, you can try those apps that I've tried:

Try the various configurations that the apps have to offer, including to also turn on the speaker. If you have a rooted device, some apps also have options for this too.
I use Call Recorder by Boldbeast Software Inc. and works flawlessly
I use Boldbeast Call Recorder (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.boldbeast.recorder).
It works fine for me as long as I select "Mode 5" as the Record Mode from within the app.
Used this sometime ago. Worked great for me.

Let's see if this works:
Linkme: Call Recorder - Boldbeast
Edit: Oh well, https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.boldbeast.recorder&hl=en
>boldbeast
this one ?
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.boldbeast.recorder&hl=fr&gl=US
I'm using this with A11 and Indian variant. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.boldbeast.recorder
So there's no confusion...
Boldbeast call recorder is the one I've set up for quick voice recording from widget.
Actually I was looking at the wrong widget, Boldbeast call recorder is the one I've set up for quick voice recording, whereas Quick Video Recorder records video, not audio by itself.
Attached is a screenshot of app shortcut followed by associated widgets for both apps. The speaker icon for QVR is not about recording sound as I thought but about enabling recording with volume keys.

In fact all apps shown in that screenshot are worth a look, writing this post is a good refresher of how to use that launcher page I've set up a while back but did not use much.
Yes that's correct, no call recording in the Poco F2 Pro. It's got google's built in dialer. However, that will be updated soon with call recorder with a few flaws that we're used to.
1- It won't be automatic, you'll have to press the record button yourself
2- When you press the record button, it will alert you and the call that the call is being recorded.
The alternative I have seen is that some call recorders work on the Poco F2 Pro without root. There are 2 options that i've read that have worked without root:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.boldbeast.recorder
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.skvalex.cr
No idea if it still works but I had good luck with this app years ago.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.boldbeast.recorder
Call Recorder by Boldbeast Software - https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.boldbeast.recorder
Ia încearcă cu asta: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.boldbeast.recorder
Call Recorder - Boldbeast no ads. Records both sides.
Boldbeast Call Recorder No ads. Performs well on my Moto G5S+ XT1806.
Boldbeast Recorder works for me.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.boldbeast.recorder
here's another one https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.boldbeast.recorder
Bold beast has worked pretty great for me.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.boldbeast.recorder
Just hit the little record button to record the call or have it always record. Dump the recordings automatically to your google drive acct too.
Found from XDA

http://www.boldbeast.com/forum/topic1123-call-recorder-for-nexus-6p.html
But looks like, this will also need to have root.
Boldbeast is better than all of those combined.

You could try this app or the Enable CM Call Recording module for the xposed framework.
I haven't tried the app but the module works well enough on cm11. Should work fine with cm12.1.
