Just wanted to say hi in this thread. I always lurk in this sub but I don't post too often. I go between here and PT ( yes I know it's a cesspool but I started lurking there after the breakup and I like some of the posters there. Lol.)
I'm the streamer 'EastCoastPhishing'. I normally post my streams on PT...but I thought I'd say hello here and let anyone that might tune in via Reddit that I say, 1) thanks for tuning in and 2) I'll hopefully be streaming Lockn, Phish and other acts. Periscope some bits as well. If the Fall tour rumors come to be sort of close to what's been listed, I live outside Raleigh and would be hitting up at least 3 of those shows and would stream them as well.
http://mixlr.com/eastcoastphishing If you want to follow.
I'm saying hello to you guys in the bio 8-)
Can't wait to be out there on the road again, but I'll take a stream, cold beer, and my couch for now. :D
Hope everyone couching has a great evening!
Edit: A thank you to all the other streamers as well. I almost never miss a show nowadays thanks to streamers using Mixlr, Ustream, Periscope, and various other streaming mediums. I came into Phish at the tail end of the tape era, 99/2000. I remember reading about shows on dial up and then trading for B&P on RMP and waiting weeks to months to hear a show. It's unreal how far we've come. Streamers might be the ugly little brother to a taper, but that ability to provide access, albeit crude audio sometimes, to the fanbase...we get get to live in the moment with these fans and the band...its wild to me. I kid but at the same time I'm serious, what a time to be alive. ;D
*Thanks as always to Phish for bringing us together as well. :D
*edit 2: Thank you for the Reddit gold anonymous fellow fan! I've never received gold, not sure what to do with it, but I'm still very grateful and appreciative. Wishing you a great rest of your summer! ❤️❤️❤️
Yep. Get yourself a pair of these https://www.amazon.com/Etymotic-Research-High-Fidelity-Earplugs-White/dp/B0015WNZ9K and you’ll be protected without the loss of fidelity the foam ear plugs cause.
Protect your ears kids! You want to be enjoying these shows for life!
Disclosure: this is not even close to Phish's entire catalog. I spent a good 7-8 hours pulling tabs, cleaning up text, adding lyrics, printing/binding and realize that there is quite a bit to add still (it still is over 300 pages). This does, however, cover the majority of Phish's current touring catalog: https://docs.google.com/file/d/0Bw1YO9ZsGZ7fbHhfaFVIel92bzA/edit?pli=1
Edit: Here is a more optimized file, with corrections: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0Bw1YO9ZsGZ7fUlN6dUFCVkU5eTQ/edit?usp=sharing
Vacuum Solo checking in as well tonight, stream included. Included with said stream are badass tunes and fresh jams for setbreak. Best party on the internet, perfect quality!

Check out the top streams on Mixlr and try out a few. Terrapin is good, but last night caspianjesus was the best. Depending on what sound you like (clean, live-sounding, bassy, high-end clarity, etc), you may prefer one stream over another.
You ABSOLUTELY should wear earplugs. It is horrible advice and negligent to not take care of your ears at a rock show.
There are cheap options online that will save you from Tinnitus. I have custom earplugs, and have been to a few hundred shows, Phish being a majority, but the only way to have a lifetime of music enjoyment is to take care of your ears.
Take care of your shoes too.

Very cool. There is no sales history for that version on discogs: https://www.discogs.com/Phish-Junta/release/3273178
The reissue cassette from 1992 last sold for $5 on the discogs marketplace, but I would presume yours (the original issue) to be appreciably more valuable.
I think these guys have what it takes to be the next big jam band on the scene. This is one of their shows from 2011, an entire Phish cover show that I thoroughly enjoyed. If you get a chance, check out some of their other stuff.
These guys are very well on their way in my opinion. They are already changing the setlist every single night. They have pretty sound lyrical composition that I can really see a crowd getting behind, and they bust out into those long improvised jams that we all know and love.
They played 128 shows in 2013. Just wanted to put these folks on everyone's radar if they haven't heard of em yet. The potential is there, now we have to see if they can get a real following behind them.
Here is another show that I recommend you checking out. It's more of their original work...
I'm surprised no one has mentioned the super funky tube. Here's a SBD.
I've posted about this before, this is a different angle than a bunch of the other solos listed.
After Coventry, the first appearance by any band member was Mike joining the Benevento/Russo Duo at moe.down. Mike began their encore with an incredibly mournful solo before the Duo joins in and, much to the amazement of the crowd, kicks in with Mike's Song.
I've always thought of that performance as Mike's Soliloquy. Such a weird time to be a phan.
Here's a little tip in advance right before everyone starts asking if there's a Mixlr stream/which one.
Just go to http://mixlr.com/live/popular/ and see what the most popular at show time are. It'll be obvious by the names for most of them which have Phish playing.
Link here for anyone that's curious. It's also an awesome 24/7 Phish radio run by my good buddy /u/easo91 (we go all the way back to orientation week of college), fun place full of cool people!
I'm a simple meme apprentice, and I'm afraid technological questions of this caliber are out of my wheelhouse. Sadly I can't add a personal recommendation, but this was the first thing to come up in google: https://vox.rocks/resources/why-and-how-choose-flac-player-mac
Phish: the Biography by Parke Puterbaugh is very detailed of their history. It talks about how the band met, all the historical venues and festivals, and provides a few interviews and quotes from people who worked with them as they were getting started. The book helped me learn A LOT about what Phish is all about.
http://mixlr.com/terms-of-use/
If you read the term's of use, before Phish even gets involved, the big issue here is when we broadcast a Phish show via Mixlr, we were never the original content owners.
Like they said no official stream but CouchTour on Twitter says that there's an audio stream tonight on mixlr. I just checked and s/he's not online yet but it's still pretty early. I figured it's a worth a try!
Looks like RT flights from CVG-ATL are $227 on Delta right now. Not too bad.
Yeah, they print poster-sized photos, so on photo paper with a massive photo printer. I've used them since ~2003 and still have one from that old framed next to me right now; it looks great. A friend of mine is a professional advertising photographer and told me that Costco does a great job of calibrating and maintaining their machines and that you're getting a great print from them.
Apparently Amazon is in the game too, but I just learned that right now: https://www.amazon.com/EzPosterPrints-Upload-Custom-Personalized-Printing/dp/B07DG1642Z
Spectacular poster, by the way! I feel like I have a deep knowledge of the Phish universe and there are some things that are stumping me in here, and so many fun easter eggs! I love the names you've given the shops and seeing folks like Homer and Dave Letterman and Dude in there!
Reposting what I posted at /r/gratefuldead: This is very sad to me... finally had a lineup that recaptured the vibe of an actual Dead show and now that's come and gone too. I hope Bobby is okay. I know Phil can't travel much anymore. Nothing left to do but pull out the bootlegs.
Don't know why but this is my favorite Furthur show. Maybe because it has some really good versions of songs I don't hear very often like Ryan Adam's Peaceful Valley, George Harrison's Any Road and Ashes and Glass>Pride of Cucamonga, but I friggin' love this set. https://archive.org/details/furthur2011-11-18.sbd.official.117335.flac16
Don't think about - just go see moe.!!!
moe. is the band I've seen the most, after Phish and the Grateful Dead. I caught them for the first time in 1997 and always make a point of seeing them whenever they come around.
I've definitely seen some clunkers in the dozens of shows I've attended. I (eh, maybe it was the band) had several less than satisfying experiences around late 2001-2002... but I always give moe. the benefit of the doubt because when they are firing on all cylinders I don't know of another band that can top them.
Check out this St. Patty's Day '99 show. It was such a fun evening full of many musical highlights. The final jam of the (nearly half hour long) Timmy Tucker that opens the second set is one of the most face melting things I've ever witnessed...
I also have to give them props for producing really well-crafted studio albums which is something most "jambands" (love the music, hate the term...) can't seem to pull off. Tin Cans And Car Tires is on my 'desert island' list.
i listen to twiddle nonstop this days, much like i did with phish when i first started listening to them. what i love about them is they write really good songs, and then jam on top of it - its not your typical third tier jamband meh-ness in my opinion. id argue that their song writing trumps their jamming abilities still at this point, although the improv definitely gets consistently better as they keep playing.
ive seen a bunch of shows and listened to just about all of them on archive, this is my personal favorite show to date (the doinkinbonk > hood > doinkinbonk is simply amazing):
https://archive.org/details/Twiddle2013-12-28.cmc64.flac16
definitely check them out if you havent yet
edit: 1 more show. first set contains the best improv ive ever heard out of them. https://archive.org/details/Twiddle2014-07-19.Avantone_CK1_matrix
This sums it up. I was wrong about the price, seems like it was $45. For those who don't want to click the link, basically he sells his tickets himself and invalidates any found on scalper sites for more than face value, refunding the scalper's money. That way, if you can't go, you can sell your ticket, but you can't profit from it.
He saw scalping down by 96%, which I imagine to be close to the percentage of actual tickets to Phish shows that are sold for double face or more on scalper sites.
I get what the previous commenter says about it being implausible to sell out a tour without using Ticketmaster / LiveNation due to venue restrictions. However, we have all had this happen...
When that is the reality of buying tickets to Phish shows, I can't believe there's not something they can do, even if that's reserving many more of the available tickets for the lottery in the first place. I have no idea what allotment is reserved for lottery today, but I know it's not enough.
Rumors are that CaspianJesus will be streaming soon on Mixlr for anyone else concerned about finding a stream.

Also: http://mixlr.com/radio-icculus/ is live
Here's what I "know."
Earlier in the day DJs on the Bunny were hinting that there would be a secret set. I don't remember verbatim but they said something like Phish will play three sets today and have been known to do an extra secret set. They encouraged people to check out the festival grounds and decide the most likely location such a set might occur.
Rumor on Twitter is 2am EDT. As for options for hearing the set if it occurs: The Bunny should have it. Pretty sure they broadcasted the storage shed jam from Superball. If they don't, LvnPhish has pledged to stream it on her Mixlr page. http://mixlr.com/lvnphish/
I think it will happen and my guess is that it's happening at the drive-in. I think they will play Gamehenge with animation that coincides. Very long shot of course.
edit: http://mixlr.com/lvnphish/ edit2: was just streaming anders osborn, sounding pretty good. Should be up at 4:00 central/5 eastern
Don't know if it's for sure, but lvnphish tweeted that she was ready to stream for today
Get one of these, works much better than they used too.
Not noise cancelling, per se, as I am not sure there are many options for wired noise cancelling earbuds, but the Moondrop Starfield IEMS have been getting a lot of love for $100 IEMs over on r/headphones.
I struggle finding IEMs that fit my ears, and these are super comfortable, and sound absolutely fantastic for the price.
IEMs are more sound isolating because of the seal in your ear, as opposed to active noise cancelling youd find in over the ear or wireless earbuds like AirPods Pro, or Sony mx1000 whatever they are called.

It's entirely possible. I personally suggest using Private Internet Access for a VPN. It's great if you're not tech savvy but also great for power-users. I think they have a trial but not sure. Cheers!
on youtube, check out mkdevo's channel... tons of HD footage of full shows with good sound. He has so many, he had to make a spreadsheet.

after a little more research it seems you're pretty much correct. there's a discussion on chess.com on the topic with a news article that shows the position after move 14 (with notation)
another phan on reddit about 2 years ago pointed to an article written by IM eric schiller about the games, which includes links to a couple of websites which supposedly once housed the chess games but are no longer functioning.. indeed, it seems that they're lost forever
Make sure you choose the one's taped by Charlie Miller for the best quality:

I saw the Gourds at a very intimate house concert back in 2008. We were requesting "Gin & Juice" but they wouldn't play it. In an attempt to appease us they covered R. Kelly's "Feelin' On Yo Booty" which was entertaining, but not the same... I'm sure they get tired of being asked to play it.
Download the Mixlr app, there’s always someone live-streaming the show via audio for free. Usually can find it on the front page as the channel w the most users currently in it (during a live show): http://mixlr.com/fluffhead420 is steaming right now. Join the Addicted to Phish FB page to join in on the fun. Welcome!!

important adjunct: Play this on loop while listening
I'll be there!!
Hopefully shouldn't be as chaotic as 2014, that day just happened to have 50mph winds right at showtime...
If you fly via ft lauderdale, heres something that might not break the bank, 169 going, 159 returning. ? This whole thing is just a transcode of my original m4a rip which is a raw lossless from source dump from mixlr.
Literally zero point in it being FLAC as mixlr encodes to AAC SBR 60k. (Edit: They also applied normalization to the flac, eck)
Thank you for this thread. I absolutely adore this song.
A little BSP (Blatant Self Promotion):
I made a downtempo mix of only chill and beautiful studio recordings of Phish a few years back. It spawned from my girlfriend wanting more pretty Phish to calm her brain during 8hr bus rides through Indonesia. You may catch where the name came from wink wink.
If interested, you can find it here:
Right now it's a hodge-podge of about a dozen varieties of hot peppers in a ~7-8% mash that has been fermenting since June. I bought a cookbook and have been making nothing but Jerk chicken, fish, pork, etc for the past 3 months in preparation but I only have a rough idea going in. It's going to be blended with ACV that I have been infusing with thyme for ~6 months and cooked over an open fire (cherry and apple wood)
USB to the TV? No.
You need miniDP to HDMI. Thunderbolt is an interface. Thunderbolt and mini displayport use the same connector but you do not need a thunderbolt to X adapter. Just MiniDP to HDMI. You should be able to get an adapter that puts out HDMI female.

I dig a good shameless plug. Think I'll throw one out there as well. Spafford is a band from AZ that is really solid technically and loves to take stuff out for a stroll. They do a bunch of Dead and Phish covers, and their originals are funky as shit. I think they've been mentioned on this sub for a harry hood cover they did at a wedding. Here is them absolutely shredding back on the train. https://archive.org/details/Spf2012-08-04.Marble
I personally use Earasers and have used them for years with my band when we perform live and practice. I think they take out some of the more low-end boomy noise you can get from live sound and a lot of the chatter from chompers too. I've met some people who have custom molds made that are perfect because it's for their ears, the only caveat is the price - unless you have insurance cover it and claim it's for work.
When I forget the Earasers I use full-on earplugs (these) because, in the end, I don't want to damage my ears any more than I already have. Even when I've used full-on plugs, I've noticed that they only cut out the higher end of the spectrum of sound and some of the lower end of the bass. I'm sure some have done some frequency testing etc to show what you lose and what you don't, this is just from my personal experience and perception.
I'm going to sound like a dad here (apologies in advance), but in the end, worry about your ears before you worry about missing notes. Whenever I feel like I may have missed something, I feel relaxed knowing that an SBD will be available afterward and that someone most likely taped the show as well.
I'd try and look for places in Rockville Centre/Lynbrook. They are right on the LIRR line and 30-40 min away from Penn Station/MSG. There are 3 hotels in RVC that look decent. I'm from the area. Also a lot of cool restaurants in town to recover :)

Ages ago I had a girlfriend who always seemed touched by shitty luck. At one point she told me she just did the whole ear wax candle thing, and she was raving about how well she could hear.
Two days later she took a quick flight from Boston to NYC, and promptly got ear infections in both ears.
Peter Shapiro just wrote an excellent book on this topic, called The Music Never Stops: What Putting on 10,000 Shows Has Taught Me About Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Magic. It's a long worded response to your questions, but it'll open your eyes up to the concert production industry.

Hard to say what security will be like in this day and age, but in general... every venue I have been to in a "post"-covid world has been zero-touch. If you don't set off the metal detector and you don't have a bag, you go right through. I doubt the pen sets off the metal detector.
Have your phone/wallet/keys out in your hand (put it in the bin if they ask you) and walk right through. You can also get an idea if they are touching people by scoping it out beforehand.

Whoops, too lazy/busy to read your entire post. You actually have a good stream you can play at will. Here is a firefox add-on I have used before for youtube videos.

I guess it depends on the stream format. I would assume flash, though.
Two of these, 168oz total.
I let the trim cure for a few weeks after I trimmed. Then, break it all up by hand as fine as possible. Wrap tightly with foil, as airtight as possible. Decarb in an oven for 45-50 minutes at 220. About halfway through I pull the pan out and give it a little shake with the foil still on. Remove from oven and leave it covered, let it cool to room temperature.
Add coconut oil and infuse for 2 hours in the oven at 220 then open everything up and strain. Voila!

This is from Spotify Wrapped, an end of year thing Spotify does to summarize your year in music (and in this year's case the decade). Click here to confirm that your artist of the decade was also (likely) Phish.
Just a heads-up, you can get a similar effect, at least around your TV, on a budget. I got one of these earlier this year, it has a small camera that mounts to the bottom of your flatscreen and that synchs the LED strips behind your TV for similar "color wash in synch with the picture" effects. $90. Would recommend.
Bring your rain gear, ziplock bag (for your phone), flip-flops (for no wet socks), and get ready for a party at the Alpharetta Water Park! (Weather Forcast)

Look in New Jersey. Guarantee you will have more luck finding a cheap and decent place there than anywhere in the city itself, and transit is pretty easy to work out.
I'd offer you some floor space where I'm staying but unfortunately it's already a little packed. Good luck man!
You can use the free Fluid app (https://fluidapp.com) to turn any single website into its own Mac Desktop application. You should give that a shot if you really want each site to have their own app.
A while back I used the app Friendly Streaming (https://pcmacstore.com/en/app/553245401/friendly-streaming) to be an app dedicated to audio and video streaming websites, so it was separate from my primary web browser. I have Netflix, YouTube, Amazon Prime, Disney+, LivePhish+, Relisten, and SiriusXM all loaded into there.
This is an alternate take - from the first post-Coventry appearance by any bandmember, Mike's debut joining with the Benevento/Russo Duo at moe.down closed with the most mournful version of Mike's Song you could ever imagine hearing, especially when you keep in mind that Mike didn't want Phish to break up.
It starts out with Mike doing a near-soliloquy of a bass intro before the other guys join in and the crowd recognizes what's going on. I've always thought of this performance of the song as "Mike's Lament".
Reposting this from the thread yesterday just so we are all on the same page.
To clarify the "rules":
Restreams of official webcasts are never permitted.
AUD streams are always fine, by Reddit mod standards. (they may still get taken down by nugs)
AUD streams are less likely to be taken down when there is no official webcast. (by nugs, not by Reddit mods, we will never remove a link to an AUD stream)

This dude usually plays it and then there is another dude named Kush that has a mixlr channel as well. There will be a live set thread in here later with links. Also ppl on Twitter will be posting Periscopes so check #phish as well
just bought one and a trey and the mushroom one because it looks fucking cool. FYI my guy, your site does not have an SSL cert so don't put the S in https when you link it. Better yet, get encrypted!
For a deadhead i think a good introduction would be the Bakers Dozen sampler, and then after you are fully convinced explore the rest of the Bakers dozen and move on to another year from there. Amazon link to get whjatever frormat you want. https://www.amazon.com/Bakers-Dozen-Madison-Square-Garden/dp/B07HSLSQGL
I just booked the Ramada Plaza Downtown. I actually already had it booked for 119 per night, and then another redditor posted this Groupon: https://www.groupon.com/deals/ga-bk-ramada-plaza-atlanta-capitol-park-hotel-4#check_in=&check_out= which got me down to 83 per night.
I chose the Ramada because it has an outdoor pool (the Grant Park does too), and it said it was in Downtown which I figured would give me some better options for things to do during the day.
Yeah, their app is bad, but the issue is that with the ubiquity of electron.js (a library for making apps from websites), what you're likely to get is just the webapp in a wrapper.
For what it's worth though, you can do that using Fluid right now and get the LivePhish+ app as a separate application on your desktop! I too spend a lot of time at my workstation, and this was what I ended up doing.
I believe Adobe Creative Suite II is free, so you can legally download Illustrator that way. If you want a more up to date software, Inkskape is the open source version of Illustrator. It is what Gimp is to Photoshop. I never used it, but you can look into it if you want.
As to your artwork, I think you did a great job!
For Internet access, you just set up a port forward from any TCP port on your public IP to TCP 32400 on your server's IP. PlexPass (going up in price on 29th) is only needed if you want to Sync (make available offline on the client device or in the cloud).
I use Subsonic because, for music, I like the layout (and offline caching) better than Plex.
