Here we go, I found the name of it (trans-3-methyl-2 hexenoic acid). Apparently there's been some back-and-forth about the matter, but the general points on both sides are this:
1) The smell of this chemical is more noticeable in the sweat of schizophrenics and gives it a distinct smell
OR
2) This chemical is known to be generally responsible for the odor of sweat, so everyone has it in noticeable quantities, thus it is not specially related to any illness.

> The symptoms that stick out most to me are auditory halucinations, which I think I have had, I occasionally hear the message notification sounds from Skype or facebook, but no message is incoming. I have also very rarely felt the vibration of a phone in my pocket, even if my phone isn't there or no text has been sent.
I think those are fairly common. You can search for phantom cell phone vibration, for example, to find out more about that. I'd imagine that the message notification sounds are something similar. While perhaps technically those are hallucinations, I don't think they're the sort involved in schizophrenia.

I'm sorry to hear you're going through such turmoil and genuinely struggling with some real complex grief. I don't think I can quite say I have experienced something similar, although I can relate to feeling like you've lost a part of yourself. For me I just decided I was going to keep them inside of me as a part of me that I would express to other people and keep them alive that way, if that makes any sense. I do know of some really good resources, this podcast and this book. Grab it from libgen. I actually read the book because I thought it would help me mourn the loss of my old life that the illness took from me, so my old health, and it did help. For me it had to mean something, but I didn't have the tools to make the pain useful, and the book inspired me to make something of those memories, to drive something positive. But I think it's different for everyone. I hope you can find something useful there, at least they are reputable sources with evidence the ideas work for people. Take care <3

Also I save the tiny pill bottles, and once a week I fill them up with the supplements I'm taking, so I can just do a shot of pills, because there are a lot. I label them AM and PM. Because I take b vitamins and others that tend to swell, I put a little dessicant absorber in that I save from other bottles. If you sit down and do it all once a week, and you have lots of containers, and a bunch of those pill organizers, you can have a system

You might find The Eden Express by Mark Vonnegut (Kurt Vonnegut's son!) interesting. It can be a bit of a challenging read, but it's a great book!
There's an investment Acorns, that I find really helpful to "hide" money from myself. Basically, you invest money into a very low-risk investment fund. You earn interest, and there is a $1-3 subscription fee. The best part is that it take five days to get the money out. When I have the impulse to spend, usually if I don't have instant access to it, I'll forget about spending it.
Also, a 401k is a good idea for anyone. There's a lot of reasons to set up through work, and it's a pain in the butt to get it out.

Congrats on the new job!!!
Use disability services at your school, get accommodations at the beginning of the semester, they are a life saver x100. I just took Calc I last semester along with computer programming. I'm not a genius. I go straight after class to the library and do the homework before my brain dumps it. Study groups are hit or miss, I typically try to sit next to the smartest person in class so I can pick their brain without interrupting the teacher all the time and hopefully have a study partner of sorts.

I basically just learned via repetition. Do assigned math problems over and over and over and over again till my hands hurt. I also used an app call photostudy if I can't figure something out when I'm alone. It's not free sadly, but it's clutch when its 3am and youtube/google isn't helping.

Oh, for most other classes, where you have to memorize shit (FML), I use an app called Anki: https://apps.ankiweb.net
Just make flashcards on your PC and transfer the shit to your phone . Study off your phone anywhere/anytime, GG. I really dont have tips on how to memorize stuff beyond plain ol' repetition, but this app hands down has helped me pass so many tests vs. the old me that frantically tried to study off of disorganized notes to no avail.

Hope this helps.

I got my food stamps renewed and the apartment management fixed some things. I still have way too many roaches in my apartment, but I don't know what to do, the bug guy has already sprayed everything to hell and back 3 times. I'm still waiting on the dishwasher, they ordered the wrong one. But at least they fixed my ceiling and replaced the florescent lightbulbs in my kitchen so I can see again.
Been thinking a lot about time travel...the entities claim they can send me back to 2005. So I'm trying to make sense of that and deal with it. I'm seriously considering taking them up on their offer. I posted about it in another thread.
Been dealing with a ton of withdrawal symptoms from Abilify. This stuff is brutal to come off of. I took a small dose today and it seemed to calm down the symptoms a bit, so I guess I just need to taper off for a little longer.
I updated my song and added some new parts to it so I was happy about that ~ https://clyp.it/fp2so2jj
I got hypo-manic and spent a lot of time working on redesigning my website @ http://SoundGoddess.me I'm glad that I got to a point where I could think clearly enough to remember how to design things in photoshop and throw together a cohesive and hopefully aesthetically pleasing website.
I've also been spending a ton of time on facebook lately, discovered a lot of interesting closed groups. So I've been doing that instead of redditing.
I think that May 2015 is officially the 2nd weirdest month for me in this lifetime, the first weirdest being August 2010.
I met with my pdoc and she is keeping me on Abilify and Adderall but gave me an additional script for Trazodone so I can sleep.
Here is the latest clip from my musical journey: https://clyp.it/vqzhtsfq
I'm trying to program that song into my current aura/vibe.
I've started working on an album, my artist name is ~water wraith~ and my album's name is [division by zero]
Actually going on a coffee date when I get up in the morning. Hopefully things will be platonic this time. It's amazingly hard to meet new people who don't want to try to sleep with me. For some reason as a single gal people think you're joking when you say you just want to be friends and aren't looking for sex/romance. I'm just tired of being holed up in my apartment 24/7 with music as my only companion, I want to connect with people.
As someone accustomed to an affluent lifestyle, it's a bit weird trying to make friends with neighbors who have no real motivation or ambitions in life...I'd say I'm divorced of any kind of greed/capitalist mindset but I actually care about doing something productive with my life instead of sitting around watching TV all day.
Honestly things are really good considering. But I am still struggling a lot with depression, had an episode this week where I told my friend I was feeling suicidal and he got really upset about it so I feel bad about hurting his feelings like that. I'm not going to hurt myself but those urges are there, I'm trying to find good coping skills though.
I used to do this too. What I did is I had a series of 4 alarm clocks that would get progressively louder and worse - if I got up at the earliest one and got dressed, I was allowed to turn the rest of them off. The first was a simple phone alarm, set to be 30 minutes earlier than I actually wanted to wake up. Then I had like your typical bedside beeping alarm clock, set to go off at the time I wanted to be awake. Third alarm was one of those loud af old fashioned bell alarm clocks (this one almost always got me up because they are horrifyingly loud) set to 15 minutes after I wanted to be awake. The fourth alarm was always set to 15 minutes before I needed to be out the door (that's the amount of time it usually takes me to get everything together if I'm in a rush) and it was one of these monsters that I had used a command strip to stick to the ceiling in the corner of my room. I did that so that if I were starting to sleep through it (nearly impossible, it is so loud) I would have to get up and jump and rip it off the wall in order to turn it off. It's hard to stay asleep if you're jumping to turn off a 120db alarm.
Best wishes to you, from one heavy sleeper to another
I've suggested this many times in this subreddit.
read this book: https://www.amazon.ca/Illustrated-Happiness-Trap-Struggling-Living/dp/1611801575/ref=pd_lpo_1?pd_rd_i=1611801575&psc=1
The therapy is called ACT. It's like CBT, but better because there is no multi-step process, it's easy to remember, and it works great. That is the illustrated version, I got it because pictures help me remember things and there are fewer words to get confused about.
What about using this?
