I know the "inspiration" for this from a book called National Lampoon's Truly Taste Cartoons: The Best of the Worst . It was made in 1992 so the comics themselves were pulled from newspapers and such well before that. I can't find a picture of the panel, and I haven't had the book for more than a decade, but I believe the original artist was Sam Gross.
