Thanks for posting OP, I've been thinking about something like this for a while.
Here's a spreadsheet with everyone's submissions so far. Feel free to extrapolate.
Ends on the 10th but I am probably going somewhere tomorrow night if anyone is interested in meeting up. I am thinking Rice, Paradise Pantry, or The Wine Rack.
Grew up here (and I'm back) but I've definitely never identified myself as a raver despite my strong interest in electronic music and DJing. That might be in part because the old school VC ravers couldn't name more DJs than drugs they were on. Not trying to rain on your parade, but the EDM scene != ravers in most civilized parts of the world.
With how mainstream EDM has gotten, club nights with a good mix of people who aren't pretentious and appreciate good house music is something I'd think was possible even here.
That said, one of my friends from back in the day has a promotions group that puts on shows and raves in VC. I haven't been to any of his events yet. Check it out.

+1 on this: the guy that work used on our last wiring project retired; a certain mod left the area; and so many folks seem based out of LA addresses now. Googling for an electrical/commercial wiring outfit helps, but not guaranteed.
Reading the post, absolutely want to use fiber for cross-building runs to avoid grounding and lightning issues: actually lost equipment back in FL due to a setup I inherited that wasn't running fiber. Otherwise, the Ubuquity radios, or some OpenWRT programmed routers hooked up to directional antennas, would get the job done.
One of my favorites is the area around the summit of the Peninsula Trail in the Conejo Canyons open space (mapped here: https://www.alltrails.com/explore/trail/us/california/canejo-canyon-peninsula-trail?mobileMap=false&ref=sidebar-view-full-map). It can be reached from the Hill Canyon Trail Head by Santa Rosa Valley Park or the Conejo Canyons Trail Head off Conejo Center Dr. The area around the top offers some great views of the Oxnard Plain and the coast.
I sincerly hope that your father is found.
For anyone who likes to hike or camp solo in places where there aren't a lot of people, I strongly suggest that you buy an EPIRB if you can afford one. They transmit a radio frequency that can be picked up by satellites and will alert authorities to the fact that you are in distress, they typically have GPS receivers so they can broadcast your exact position. They're not cheap, but life isn't cheap. Buy one if you can afford it. It's the same technology as aircraft use to alert people when they crash.

Here is an example of a unit you could buy. I am not endorsing this specific unit, it's just an example for cost and features.
I did not record or map out the hike. I was with two others who are familiar with and experienced in the area.
That said, I am 95% positive that this is the route we took. https://www.alltrails.com/trail/us/california/boney-mountain-overlook-trail?p=-1
As someone who moved from LA to Oxnard, some folks definition of “safe” is skewed here. I live in Oxnard and have never felt unsafe but I also am street smart and live in a chill neighborhood. North Oxnard is a lot bigger than most folks have mentioned. I live in Wilson Park/ Heritage square area that has a lot of the older, historical homes and I love it. Affordable and central to the south and north sides. Quiet but close to main area in Oxnard and Ventura when I wanna take an Uber to a bar. Look into those areas and you can probably find a cute apartment or home with a back house. I’ve seen stuff on Zillow, Redfin and Facebook.
Here’s an example

> First of all, it was not Trump. It was Ben Shapiro who said "Facts don't care about your feelings." It was said in response to leftists trying to use their feelings to support an argument. I see nothing wrong with this.
I've seen hundreds of these stickers and flags and shit in the last six months. Googling the phrase shows you dozens of people at trump rallies flying the flags and wearing the tshirts. You don't get to hide behind Ben Shapiro.

Like I said. Do. Not. Start.
We're done here. You are arguing in bad faith.
Amazon has some; Walmart looks like it does too.
