Try davinci resolve editing program is free and so easy to use https://www.blackmagicdesign.com/products/davinciresolve/
work for me and is lots of video how to use the program on youtube .
Honestly the only advantage to youtube right now IMO is it's easy get your steams uploaded to youtube. Otherwise I find the chat to be worse, it's harder to get a new audience with live streams on it(especially since they integrated gaming into the main site more), and the dashboard aren't as friendly imo.
You could try something like restream.io and just do both (or more).
I second this. Use something like Castr.io for livestreams. Set it up to broadcast to Twitch, Youtube, and DLive (hop on that PewDiePie bandwagon) all at the same time. You can do 5 or so for free (might be more or less).

Or... you could just stream to Twitch (large audience there to watch you) and then port it from Twitch to Youtube if you liked the livestream. You also have the option to download the stream if you want to edit the clip and just push highlights to youtube.
There are all kinds of good deals on PC's for the holidays. Sure you could build your own and get more "bang for your buck", but honestly, if you've never put one together before, figuring out your build and cable management, etc it may not be up your alley.
I recently went away from my old older Mac Pro and bought a PC just for streaming. I went with Costco because if I wasn't happy with it, they won't hassle me about a return, and have a killer return policy/warranty compared to other retailers. The one I got is sold out(HP Envy 860), but they have a ton of others for under a grand. You can check them all out here:
Snowball can work great. I would assume your snowball is just streaight hooked up. I would try and hook it up to some software so it can then be pushed at a better quality. Noise Gator is free, but I use Adobe Audition with the Blue Yeti.
If you don't want to bother DL'ing anything then your best bet is the headset mic, which isn't that bad, tbf. But I would turn the settings in OBS down on your headset just a little so it isn't as loud.
I started years ago on Mixer and Twitch, never got into the YT vibe as initially setting up the YT and Facebook streams were more cumbersome, not difficult, just setting up the stream took a few extra steps. its not like that now. with Restream.io and Streamlabs OBS Prime, you can just set everything up in their application and go.

After signing the stupid Affiliate agreement, i can no longer multistream if im Live on Twitch. So i keep my very minimal Twitch stream schedule and been pushing to YT all other nights.
YT Compression is just out of wack, where Twitch is limted to 6k bitrate, ive been pushing 15-21k bitrate to twitch to get a decent quality stream. I was always caught up into what the quality looked like on PC and in reality, im a very small % of PC online viewing. Majority of viewers are mobile/tablet.
i just hope YT gets a better search/discovery function. Tags and Stream Titles dont always pop when your live and people search for you.

Long story short, if your not Affiliate, Multi stream to all platforms, grow as much as you can, throw up tweets and FB posts to re-direct everyone to your stream. (multi-streaming sometimes limits bitrate, ie Restream.io may injest 6k bitrate but will restream at a lower. or if using Streamlabs OBS Prime, you may stream to YT at 15k but Twitch and FB wont like the high bitrate. as they are limited to 6k....)
When I started streaming I went with YouTube first only because there seemed to be less streamers and more viewers. I figured at the time, the numbers were just better for someone starting out. After finding a groove I started seeing more and more reasons why Twitch was friendlier to streamers so to start my transition to Twitch I started using Restream.io . Using their free service you can stream on both platforms and it hardly affects your pc performance. It's really easy to set up.
If I had to start all over again I would go with Twitch. Fuck YouTube. They continue to alienate their product (you) for commercial revenue. I get that it's a business and they need to make money. I just dont like their business model.
I use kdenlive:
Besides being an excellent video editor it's also an excellent audio editor. By using kdenlive I don't have to preprocess all my audio before bringing it into the application.
Okedokee. So I had this same issue because I use an Elgato for capture and could not both listen to my game through my headset which I also use for chat AND have sound pass through the Elgato for the viewers to hear it as well. Here's how I solved it.
This is what worked for me. Not sure how it would work if your TV or monitor doesn't have an AUX output. Might have to buy and HDMI to AUX sound splitter to plug in after the capture card if that's the case.
Also if your headset has a separate cord for the mic then you probably don't have to buy the microphone.
Glad I could help! When streaming, sound is the hardest thing to get right, in my opinion.
Also if you find that the sound is too low when you split the audio from the TV to your headphone(s) and speakers, headphone amps on amazon can split and amplify the signal wonderfully. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01N2PM9WS/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o04_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Sorry if that was overload but I've nerded out on this stuff really bad over the last few months and want to share it with everyone. Lol.
I see, thx u for the info! In UK, I searched for Elgato:
I do hope they announce it soon. 4k is expensive no doubt.
Sony put out a tweet apologising, but they need to redo and refix everything. I do hope there's a console and they said that they're going to have 200 million more...well if I don't get one, I can record on the PS4 then.
It's just YouTube. In my case, YouTube gaming videos tend to look like trash when there's any movement at all if it's under 1440p. The bitrate YouTube transcodes down to is simply too low. I'd die for a "Source" mode. I was in shock when I saw that 6500 Kbps Twitch stream looks better than when I do 50,000 Kbps to YouTube at 1080p60 for both, all because YouTube compresses too poorly and at a bitrate too low. 1080p60 for fast moving games and other content should really be like 12Mbps minimum.
And this isn't just me, even big streamers videos look really poor by today's standards when streaming 1080p60. 2015 I accepted this was the cost of free transcoding. But the average internet speed has blown up since then and the average person on Earth has over 80 Mbps down (30 mobile). YouTube can easily push above 12 Mbps for 1080p60 without affecting very many people (as a %). I've even tried using very slow on x264 and it made no real visual difference.
> NetFlix's ISP speed report
This is worthless. This is just based on what people pay for. Actual research from real researchers at Ookla (this does NOT use speedtest skewed data. it looks at many factors) show the US is now averaging 143 Mb/s down on landlines and 44 Mb/s for mobile. https://www.speedtest.net/global-index/united-states#fixed
More importantly, unlike twitch, YouTube has transcoding for EVERYONE so it literally doesn't matter how high you stream. You can stream at 4k60fps and someone with a 5 Mbps connection and watch at 720p60fps with no issue
I used to use a blue yeti but the legs broke quickly, I find nowadays this one serves me very well and is very hard to break even after dropping it a few times. If you want a view of its quality just go to a random stream and go a few mins in (i know shameless plug but its showing the quality of the mic, be careful with the most recent stream start tho i tested out music and it messed up)
OBS is the most popular and it's free. You can find it here: https://obsproject.com/
I'm sure Hau has their own but you'll be better off going with OBS.
Once you are setup...then it's time to tune based on where you are streaming to and my PC's hardware. Selecting your capture card is little more than drop down menu. OBS's forums and their resource page are a great.
Let me know if you need anything else.
Faruton, the guy who wrote CLR Browser, also wrote a browser plugin for OBS-MP. It doesn't offer the full suite of customizations as for OBS, but does provide browser integration to OBS-MP, and custom CSS (for Windows).
Yeah, I saw no one was commenting and I didn't want you to feel like I have in the past. It's hard trying to understand the reasoning for why some videos take forever to process and some don't.
It might also have to do with youtube having a queue. It wouldn't shock me if they prioritize more popular content creators when it comes to processing videos over smaller ones.
But yeah as of now, my 5gb video still has no 4k.
I wish there was more clarification as far as what to expect with processing videos. But I'm guessing it depends on a number of hard to predict variables regarding the video files.
If you can't work out the Studio version of DaVinci definitely look into handbrake https://handbrake.fr/
I only used a few times before I upgraded but people swear by it in the community so it's worth checking out to reduce file size/upload time.
Hell, anything that speeds up the process is great!
Something that's always bugged me but I haven't seen listed as a problem before is the fact that I cannot share the link that youtubeGaming gives me for my broadcast on tumblr. Works fine for twitter/facebook/google+(well, the links seem to lag, but that's another problem for another day). Error: "Sorry, that URL is being weird. Might want to try the embed code instead." Link: https://www.tumblr.com/widgets/share/tool?shareSource=legacy&canonicalUrl=&posttype=video&content=https%3A%2F%2Fgaming.youtube.com%2Fattribution_link%3Fa%3Dh-WaABOEE40%26u%3D%252Fuser%252FGeminiAvery%252Flive&url=https%3A%2F%2Fgami...
Of course I can just make a manual link that works fine, but that's besides the point.

I just want to sell this https://teespring.com/youtubegaming If you like please order one! Show some love for community & share with your friends :D Don't Mind! I know the rules,I am just taking risk.
Well, you could just use a generic thumbnail for a Livestream or series you stream as changing those can always be done later. There exist a ton of sites that let you very easily and freely design thumbnails too, my favorite being Canva.com.
YouTube is definitely doing a few things for their streaming area lately, and the announcements they have for 2022 sound very interesting
Sorry, I'm not too keen on providing source code for this project. I'd suggest if you want, to try and run it in a VM or sandboxed if possible.
For connection to YouTube and Gmail, it uses oAuth2.0, so your account information is never saved anywhere. The Gmail scope is read-only, the YouTube scope I think is youtube.force-ssl, which atm is only used to retrieve your Channel Name.
The program folder contains: StreamWarrior.exe (made in GameMaker Studio, which is heavily sandboxed so file access is very restricted on my end, but all the predefined functions makes development pretty fast)
montage.exe (an ImageMagick executable. This is used to explode gifs into png strips -- my workaround to GM:S lack of support for external animated gifs)
ExecuteShell.dll (third party dll for GameMaker to run .bat files, which I think I can find the source code for) strip.bat (a bat file to execute montage.exe with arguments)
update.bat (a bat file to execute update.exe in the local AppData folder. update.exe is always the latest version of Stream Warrior downloaded when the user agrees to update.)
I think some anti-virus heuristics might not like when the bat files get executed by a dll very much, but I'm afraid it's my only solution to file access when I'm using GM:S.
You can actually stream to YouTube without a PC by using https://airca.st/ . But it's multi-streaming, because it takes your twitch stream and pushes it to YouTube, which you can't do as a Twitch affiliate.
Very interesting, with restream.io the send caps at 23Mbps, and after updating my Ethernet drivers the send to YouTube is capping at 17Mbps.
I really have no idea what this means, I can get the full 1000Mbps send when uploading a file to my Google Drive File Stream.
I don't think it would be Youtube. I stream at 1440p 22mbps without issue. I used to have a similar problem when I was using Restream.io though, I was sending 1080p at 6mbps to restream and I would just drop packets on the network side like crazy, nearly 100%. If I sent that same stream to Twitch or Youtube directly there was no problem. Turned out to be my ISP throttling RTMP to some sources for some reason. So yeah, I dunno for sure, but it's not specifically a Youtube limitation as far as I would think.
I'm actually streaming on all the channels, at least the main ones, through restream.io. My goal was discoverability, but I'm now concerned because I've read a few things that lead me to believe it could negatively affect my channel. I don't want to implode my channel before I even get off the ground!
How did u get the Stream Key from your old Channel?
I doubt that you can use your old Stream Key /YT CHannel by accident.
I guess the Stream never really went live.
I use Restream.io for youtube cause the latenz is somehow so much better.
And when I turn youtube of on Restream.io i still can start the stream in Obs Stream Labs... it just dont go anywhere
YT is the place for uploading edited videos.
If streaming, syndicate your content - use Restream.io and send it to every service. There's no reason not to, and every reason to do it for maximum accessibility.
try twitch, mixer, or better yet restream.io and setup all mentioned sites in restream, after some tests you will likely notice that the garbage quality is just youtube doing their own encoding and messing with the quality regardless of what you change in obs, in all sites except youtube i have good quality, but youtube always looks the same regardless of my OBS settings.
It always looks blurry when in high motion and text overlays always look terrible with noticeable blurring and artifacting around the text, tbh, at most until some magic happens sometime later all i use youtube for is to use their "private" recording feature to let me get a rough example of my setup then just use other sites that do not cripple my quality once i know its all ok.
Another way to do it would be to use restream.io They keep a record of your past streams data which you can see using their "stream monitor" tool. It'll tell you about your data rate throughout the stream including frame rate/drops.
It's free too, and it'll let you broadcast to many streaming services at once if want... Or just one, that's fine too. They have other cool features. I use them all the time.
I render all my videos from Sony Vegas as H.264 mp4 files. From there to reduce the filesize I reencode them with Handbrake checking the "Web Optimized" option. This usually reduces the filesize by 2 thirds without any noticeable drop in quality.
I'm pretty new myself so I can't give too much advice as such, but if you've not yet, <strong>Audacity</strong> is a good free one to look at for sound.
I'm getting <strong>this</strong> sort of audio quality from a cheap microphone that looks like it should be connected to a karaoke machine after noise sampling, then removal to get rid of background noise, amplifying to make louder, normalisation to remove clipping and cutting out any loud background sounds.
Still not as good as using a decent microphone, but significantly better than what I started with.
well what i do is turn usb debugging on then use adb and https://github.com/Genymobile/scrcpy to capture my screen and obs game capture
audio is a bit complicated tho I just use speakers on my phone and ho[e my mic picks it up
but if u want something more reliable u will need to pass your phones audio to obs and then a headset/earbuds
it should work with all androids devices above android 7
Oh, I see where it says "ref=" strange, I just used the share button on my phone to send it. Not sure how I could benefit from that? Weird. I was trying to benefit the person asking the question on your board, that you moderate.
How about this link? Would this one be okay to use? Oooh wait I see the ref= there too. Wow I guess I just can't share any Amazon links here
Get a cheap microphone. This is the one to replace my xlr setup I've got and it sounds just fine. If you go with a more complicated setup than this, be prepared to never actually get started making videos.
It's enough to handle recording. The VRAM can be limiting. If you can find the Ryzen 2700x under 150 bucks, go for it. I think it was Thanksgiving or Prime Day when I saw its price at $149. Man, that was a steal!
Currently, you can get the Ryzen 3700x for $269
The processor alone is enough to handle everything you throw at it. I don't know about the GPU. That a tough one. The RX 6600 XT release date is on August 11. If you can get it at its MSRP of $379, you're golden. Then, you'd have to get new RAM because you can't use your current ones.
Thank you for the response. I managed to get this and it’s working well so far. neewer tripod
you are going to want to get a condenser mic if you can. i use a razer siren x (about $100), but a friend of mine bought a cheap one on amazon for $20 and it sounds pretty good. the main thing is to use filters/eq on your mic.
i record in OBS and it has built in filters and you can download a free eq. this is important because even a good mic can sound like crap out of the box. they usually sound "tinny". so you will want to add a nice filter and EQ to boost the mids and lower the highs. you can record in another program like audacity, but im not sure how filters work there
a laptop mic would probably not sound very good.

EDIT: just asked, and this is the one he has https://www.amazon.com/Neewer-Professional-Broadcasting-Recording-Microphone/dp/B00XBQ8UGG/ref=sr_1_26?dchild=1&keywords=condenser+mic&qid=1612817903&refinements=p_85%3A2470955011&rnid=2470954011&rps=1&sr=8-26

like i said i play xbox with them regularly and they sound pretty good. cant tell they are using a cheap mic. its all about setting up the EQ to get the sound good
Thanks. I use OBS right now as I'm on PC, but I may start doing some other platforms like Switch as well, in which case I know the capture card I plan to use, but that is down the road.
Is this the mic you mentioned? https://www.amazon.com/Audio-Technica-AT2020USB-Cardioid-Condenser-Microphone/dp/B00B5ZX9FM
Thanks for the advice about sticking to it for a while first, as that's what I've done at this stage, which is why I'm still using a relatively small budget. By any chance, could I dm yo my discord info, just to ask some follow-up questions? It'd be helpful just to share my screen while I talk through what I have so far. If not, totally fine, and thanks all the same!
I've used DroidCam (for Android) to achieve a similar thing: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.dev47apps.droidcam Recommend using USB (direct connection) rather than WiFi to avoid the lag/delay.
No i appreciate the feedback ! The thing is we are already upgrading our desktop ! I just want a laptop for myself to both record ps1/ps4/xbox and probably PC gameplay with an elgato and something that can play modern games ! If not the g3 i was thinking about this, if you can recommened a better laptop please let me know ! https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0865RZR9S/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_KeUhFbX1 asus tuf a15 1JGKT
Floor mic boom stand is definitely the way to go. I have one and I love it. This is the one I have: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B003CLIPHO/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_G0iVEb06JFARV
(I almost bought the amazon basics one you linked but a lot of the reviews said it was kinda flimsy and prone to tipping over, jsyk.)
But yeah a floor mic stand should work perfectly for what you want to do. Plus you can put it next to your desk too if you’re recording there, that’s what I do. Way more versatile than a desk mount!
Thanks for the detailed response. My Macbook is a fairly new MBP. I'd like to keep this simple so I'll probably try to get away with just recording the audio together and just play with balancing the game audio and my voice audio until I figure out out and then keep the same setup.
The bigger issue that I kind of glossed over in my original post is finding a solution to mount the Yeti close to my mouth. I'm not at a desk. All the scissor booms that are designed to put that mic right where it should be for voice over are designed to clamp to a desk. I ordered a well reviewed one on Amazon and it just doesn't work. I tried mounting it to a TV tray but even though the boom was not uber cheap, it didn't have adjust able tension. I was going to pull the tray over constantly or it would just tip under the weight. I could buy a heavier table but I feel like that's just getting out of control.
I may try ordering a floor mic stand with boom like this https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B019NY2PKG/ref=ox_sc_act_image_3?smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER&psc=1 and use a shock mount to give me the tilt and rotation I would need to orient the mic properly.
I'm beginning to understand why streamers/youtubers game, stream, capture from their desk and PC generally. If I figure out out I'll be quite please to be honest.
This is what I use: USB Microphone,Fifine Metal Condenser Recording Microphone for Laptop MAC or Windows Cardioid Studio Recording Vocals, Voice Overs,Streaming Broadcast and YouTube Videos-K669B https://www.amazon.com/dp/B06XCKGLTP/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_P3iWDbF7DRHSJ
If you want get the OBS software because it makes this mic sound great!
My go-to suggestion for a good beginner mic is the ATR2100. It's a great dynamic mic that works on both USB and XLR. That way to upgrade to an XLR setup later you can use the same mic for a while. If you've got $100 I would get this mic, a pop filter, and a good boom arm stand. The positioning of the microphone is (in a way) as important as the microphone for doing YouTube videos. If you can, get one with a shock mount or buy a shock mount as well.
I've heard OK things about the Blue Yetti.. Although pricey, I want to eventually record music so I'm thinking..., https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00KQ0UFXQ/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o05_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I use a Blue Yeti microphone which has given me no trouble:
But you can honestly start out just using the built in microphone on the logitech camera or something like that to see if you even like making videos :)
Again: minimize your costs, and concentrate on doing something you enjoy first. You're likely not going to be the best video producer out there when you start -- very few people are.
i have two of these and they work really well. Can recommend.
Well I have a custom Dell Inspiron 15 that basically has stuff in it to run games pretty well, atleast the games I normally play.
I also have an Xbox One (which I tend to stream from more than my PC)
Nvidia GeForce GTX 960M Intel Core i7-6700HQ CPU @ 2.60 GHz 7.88 GB Ram
And then I have this Turtle Beach Headset - https://www.amazon.com/Turtle-Beach-Gaming-Headset-Playstation/dp/B00ZC3S818/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1482631060&sr=8-1&keywords=Turtle+Beach+PC
I googled a bit myself and I think I'll start with a snowball ICE. They are only Cardioid wich is great for gaming videos anyway. Also the price feels good for a guy like me who only does this for fun and his very large subscriber count of 11.
My work had a blue yeti I brought home and frankly this thing picks up so much I would need a fully insulated room to get decent sound out of it.
I would buy the Blue Yeti microphone, (115$) because you can speak into it from any direction and it will pick you up. So you can be sitting on one side of the mic, and your friend can be sitting on the other side of the mic, and since the mic has a knob on it to adjust the gain you can just crank it up until you feel its a comfortable level for recording. Plus, its probably one of the best sounding USB mics out there. Also, if your having trouble positioning the mic, you could get an extra long scissor arm mic stand, which is cheap (about 15$)
Or you could get a floor standing mic stand if your sitting on a couch or something ($15)
Scissor Arm Stand / Floor Stand - http://www.amazon.com/Broadcasting-Microphone-Suspension-Scissor-Extended/dp/B00DFUEZZI/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1455303991&sr=8-3&keywords=scissor+arm+mic+stand+for+blue+yeti
So, that's not a tube condenser...that's just a regular USB condenser. A tube condenser means they use a vacuum tube as part of the mic's preamp. This usually adds a separate power supply to the kit (to keep the hot tube out of the mic), like this: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000HQXT3C/ref=cm_sw_r_other_awd_d6DWwb6D28M1T
They are also pretty damn expensive ($300 is a decent price, fwiw). As far as I know, no one makes a USB based tube mic.
/u/Itspanzertime you will be better off waiting on that budget if you want to upgrade your mic kit. The cheapest thing I can think of is something like a Blue Snowball, and those are of modest quality.
I would really recommend waiting till you double your money and would look at getting a separate interface and mic. Looking at plastic-dollar prices, you need to budget about $120 for a bare bones, no frills setup (Behringer audio interface, XM8500 mic, XLR cable, mic stand/arm). For around $150 you can do a decent entry level condenser.
I like to recommend separates over an all-in-one usb solution even though it's slightly more to get started because the barrier to upgrading is lower.
That's one thing I didnt mention. It's just my basement and I wont be glueing egg cartons to any of the walls :P There's plenty of rooms I can test out the acoustics in, but not something I'll base my decision on when choosing the mic.
I love the potential upgrading, thnx for the heads up on that. but on second thought, separate interface? pre-amp? just my lack of knowledge in this field is pushing me to go with the AT2020USB and get a pop filter separate. Also, its 41% off! that seems like a good deal.
The filter doesnt look like itll attach to the mic or stand anywhere. could be wrong tho. Do i have to anchor the filter on something other than the mic setup?
I may take you up on that, I ALWAYS run into problems/questions. If you know anything about lighting, thats where I'm at now (purchasing a green scree soon) but atm, I have this lamp that I shine in my face, which is decent/better on camera, but burns my peepers! any tips on illuminating my face without going blind?
EDIT: also, there sometimes backround noise. Mostly just some humming from machines. That should be easily fixed right?
