Ok, I'm going to be that guy:
You own it? You paid for it. Just DL the .CBR files from any torrent site and read it at your work.
I know this could become a long debate whether you 'own the right' to do so, but ultimately I don't care to go into that. Just do what you think is right, but if I were you I would just torrent them.
(I think I'm still working within the rules of this sub because I didn't link to the actual torrentsite)
you'll need a cbr reader if you don't have one. http://dancingtortoise.com/simplecomic/ for mac is good
http://www.cdisplayex.com is apparently popular
and good alternatives exist on android and iOS
Megaupload link for the .CBR file i made. The .CBR can be opened with cdisplay you can download that here
If someone knows a better way to share it online please tell me.
The CBZ's are very pretty. I have not downloaded the PDF or EPUB versions though, since I generally feel that a dedicated comic book reader is best for this kind of thing. (I use CDisplay Ex on Windows.)
For 1. If you install a comic book reader like CDisplay Ex and rename the .rar to .cbr it will show the first image. There might be another image reader that can do it without renaming it to a cbr. But I don't know it.
You can then use the right-click open with to open with a standard compression software.
This link should get you a CBR which you can either open with anything that can extract RAR files, or you can use a CBR viewer like CDisplay Ex.
Sorry, here's the link: http://94.242.221.111:182/d/lmf35onh6yxkawbvka3d52bucdysuit6xg7bxj6yxr6cfdbhkewyh5gt/Mirror%27s%20Edge_1-5_(comicsall.net).rar
It's a direct link to the compressed comics. It's not a fast download so I recommend an accelerator, or if you want you could always use the torrent
The files are .cbr and require a comic book reader such as CDisplayer Ex
This website has all of them for download. The site's undergoing maintenance right now, so give it a few days and their downloads should work.
To read the comics you'll need a .cbr file reader. This worked wonderfully for me.
[EDIT] I forgot to mention that you'll need to make a free account before downloading the comics.
>I used a program called "comic rack" as my reader, 10 years later, is it still a good program for that, or are there better ones?
>i do prefer direct downloads for most things
Find-O-Matic scrapes stuff from 4chan's /co/ Win-O' threads.
I used to use CDisplay Ex. I don't know if it opens EPUB files but I know it opens PDF files and you should be able to get those from IDW. I usually had my laptop on its side so it would rotate into portrait mode so it'd be a bit more like reading an actual comic.
I can't take any credit for this. Just sharing it because it's pretty good. I think the images are taken from the game files.
Edit: You can read *.cbr and *.cbz files easily with CDisplay Ex, but there are a lot of other really good comic book reader programs out there.
If you get them off Comixology you can read them from the website. I like having the physical ones for trades because they look cool on a shelf. You can also CDisplay EX here.
Thanks! and I am absolutely okay with you PMing me!
I use cdisplay ex toucjing right side forwards page and left sige goes backwards, good and very simple, there are other readers to use, but I didnt like them.
It is good as it is like reading on the same page size of original comic book. But you may want to check before buying because it is 7", you might find it small.(I dont know if is there any place to check it before buying it)
Battery lasts about 5 hours- Windows 10, dimmed brigthness to 25%, overall it is like free tablet with office 365 for 1 year and skype minutes.
Free Manga Downloader and CDisplayEx are IMO the best manga downloader and reader. Both programs are for Windows if the tablet is a Windows one (from what i've read it you've got one of those).
Free manga Downloader is similar to DomDom (feature wise, User Interface is different) and is like the name says: Free. You can download from many english manga sites (including HQ manga sites as Batoto, Kissmanga and some other sites) and some scanlation sites. The only features that you might miss from it is the MangaFox banner deleter and no Webtoons.com (official site for many English translated webtoons) site support.
I don't know how good it is on a tablet with touchscreen but for a PC. CDisplayEx is the best i've tried so far and has features like Dual-page view and image scrolling for dual page panels when reading in pivot mode. There isn't a long strip mode though so it isn't recommended with webtoons or any other media that's in long strip format unless the image isn't split.
Free Manga Downloader is currently in development here: https://github.com/riderkick/FMD See Releases section for a download link
CDisplayEx here http://www.cdisplayex.com/
Finally switched over to CDisplay Ex now that it can fully replicate the CDisplay experience, while supporting more features and file formats.
If you want to read comics for free and don't mind pirating, a really easy way to do it is using .cbr files. You can use a cbr reader like CDisplay Ex to open them and you can find all of them through a quick google search. Idk how the mods respond to stuff like this, so sorry if this breaks any rules.
[](/tavinaww) oooh that's a lot...
And it's got a lot of good ones
You really need to read the Annihilation stuff, all of it ideally, and then the Thanos Quest. Infinity is awesome but really confusing without the backstory behind it. A God Up There Listening is pretty cool too, follows up after Infinity and goes into his backstory.
Have you got anything that runs cbr files? I use this one, works for me :3
You can use ThePirateBay -LINK and then read the comics with a comicbook reader - LINK, but if you can't use TPB I can see if I can host them on imgur.
I haven't tried either but try switching to CDisplayEX since the original version looks really old and there have been several security issues with libjpeg.
Also make sure that you got the image file from a trustworthy source and maybe do a quick malware scan with your AV (or something like malwarebytes).
It's a free software if you want to check it out first. http://www.cdisplayex.com
And it seems that they've updated the software, but the last update I use, the zooming feels kinda "janky" or not as smooth, so I revert back to version 1.10.29 I think.
You download them. They are DRM free. http://www.cdisplayex.com/ to read cbr or cbz files. Really they're just rar and zip files with numbered images in them so if you're really keen you can just unrar/unzip them and read the jpg files that way.
Otherwise they also come in PDF or EPUB files.
CDisplay. the original one. they still have it on the CDisplay download page, even tho someone took over the project and took it in a whole new direction. the original is the best way to read comic books and similar documents on the computer.
You could try Demonoid. Perform a search or check out the comics category. There's plenty of comics listed.
CDisplayEx is a nice software you can use to open *.cbr and *.cbz format files.
Have you downloaded them already? Once you do, you'll need a comic reading program. For windows there is CBR Reader, and for Mac there is Simple Comic. There are other options too, but those are free and they came up first in my search.
No, I meant it in like, you like those series, most of them are translated officially there, "support the official release with your wallets!". But also, I just think they do a much better job of translating, ^(I read somewhere that they tone down strong language, but who ducking cares). They translate onomatopoeia ^(they are a huge part of manga creation, its not weird to care about them.), which for, for some reason, pretty much no fan-translation groups do.
For the vast majority of other stuff I read ^(that don't have official weekly/monthly translation), I download, and read them through CDisplayEx, mostly to view two pages at a time ^(that's the way most comics/manga are designed to look. I'm not weird, dammit!).
double click them all, they'll start downloading at the bottom, then the save boxes will open when each one finishes (or it will save where your downloads go)
then download and install this http://www.cdisplayex.com/ open the program and drag the zip into it, you can change pages with arrow keys, it's a great program for reading manga because you can leave things as zip/rar files
Hey, that's my line!
The big kickass torrent is fantastic and what i read the series on first. I downloaded this program to read the files. Look out though, there may be some adware. Shocking.
This combination is what I've been using on my Dell Venue 8 Pro. With this method, I'm also able to save to microSD card as my internal storage isn't great.
That list is missing the most important program on any SurfacePro... CDisplayEx (just make sure not to install the bundled garbageware, they have to pay for it somehow I guess) or ComicRack.
I use CDisplay Ex. It's easy to configure if you don't like how the default controls are set up and there are some useful tools, like the magnifying glass (good for detailed manga like Berserk).
