If you have other digital versions you want to put on a kindle or different e-reader, you can convert formats with software like calibre. If you're converting formats, you may need to tweak the settings a bit so it fully fills the screen.

I agree with you that's it's pretty clear. However tricking the viewer about the gender of a character is a pretty common theme in some anime ( trap & reverse trap ). If you start watching expecting this to happen it can override logic.

Well, in said fight, when he's looking to attack Chrollo and his hand is blown off, he says he no longer has perfect manipulation there, but he still has his feet, so I think it's at least most precise at the end of his limbs. If Hisoka stuck to Chrollo's foot when he was hit from behind, I think it almost gives Chrollo the advantage. Not to mention he merely has to kick off his shoe.

If your only interested in the English dub, then you can either wait until the next blu-ray set is released (ETA unknown) or find not-so-legal streams online. It's currently airing on Toonami weekly, but they only have the last 10 or so episodes available online (123-138).

so I did the work myself and got to the point where you seemed to have messed up. (converting punches per second to m/s)

I got to find he did 1 punch in .36 seconds. that is not convertable to m/s due to us not knowing how far his punch went.

On this source (not very trustable but what ever) I found the human arm length to be 25".

thus I can convert .36(punches)/1(second) to 9 (inch)/1(second)

converted to meters - .2286(meters)/1(sec)

No, I don't really know Japanese, but I do know Hiragana and more or less how words and sentences are structured. Also Jisho is your friend. It takes a lot of effort to find the information though, as I'm not particulary good at Japanese.

I would try to find contact info in a link on the page basically by trial and error and then translating words that seem to be relevant to what I'm looking for.

You can do this 2 ways.

1. The Simple Way: Download an app called QooApp. QooApp has most if not all Japanese and other region games. It's accessed through a mobile website not through the appstore. The only downside is if their are ever updates to the app you might not get them immediately as you want them.

2. The most direct way: Have 2 accounts for Google signed in on your phone, this way you can switch back and forth. Download a vpn app. The first one I used was called TunnelBear, but now I use Open VPN for android. For open vpn you need a Japanese configuration to run on it which you can get on the open vpn website. For Tunnelbear you just select Japan, so that might be a better option for beginners. After downloading and starting one of these apps, when you see it confirming that you're running the VPN and are "in Japan" go to your Google play store, if it's not in Japanese, switch accounts using the tab on the top left, once you switch you should have access to Japanese apps, just search for what you want and download.

For option number 2 you'll need to start the VPN every time you need to update the app for the most part. Qooapp you'll just need to go into it and press update.

Short answer: I think I found something you might like! This is a set of shikishi prints (specific type of cardstock paper). There is one of each member of the Phantom Troupe, and it's official merch (should be anyways). Each one is around 5"x5".

I don't know if there's a single source for official prints. HxH stopped airing a while ago, so the amount of new merch has dwindled except for the occasional drop like the Re-Ment figures. If you want something that's already been released, this means shopping secondhand. That's why I mentioned MFC: it's a nice database of what has been official merch for a franchise/character. For the character, you can click on the number to the right of "goods" to see all the goods for a particular character, then "diaporama" to make visualizing easier. If you find something you like you can scour resale sites to track it down. You can look at sites like AmiAmi and Mandarake to see what they have. My favorite method is to use a Japanese proxy to search several places like Amazon Japan, Surugaya, Yahoo Auctions, Mercari, and Rakuten. That's how I found these shikishi prints.

As for official vs. unofficial, I guess that depends on what you're looking for and how much it matters to you. Official art will probably look the most like the characters, and is licensed so the original creators get the benefit. If you're fine with buying merch that infringes on intellectual property then unofficial may give you more options. Personally I don't mind unofficial art when it's a small creator/artist making fan art. Fan art could be another avenue to look down if you want Phantom Troupe art that's unique and custom. But I don't like it when there's some official art just stolen and slapped on a piece of random merch. This happens on RedBubble a lot, although there are some genuine creators uploading their designs too.

There's probably a lot of variance and cost depends on a ton of factors, but according to one interview by Masamune Sakaki (a CG dude in the anime industry), for a one-cour anime (13ish episode) it would cost around $2million. There's also this article that seems to agree with this (13 episodes = around 2 million, and 1 episode is around 150k roughly).

Going off this a very rough, naive estimate would be 148*($150,000) = $22.2 million.

Yeah, the English one released by Viz has been out of print a long time now and is hard to find. It also only includes 62 episodes and none of the OVAs (an additional 30eps that were never dubbed).

Sounds like the box set you're talking about is the Malaysian one sold on ebay. Those are bootlegs of not so great quality. I believe they're compressed onto 7 discs. For reference, the Japanese release is on 28 discs and the French release is on 19.

As far as I'm aware, the Viz ones are the only official ones with English subtitles. You could buy other official ones and rip them or play them with subtitles you download, but you'll have to deal with region locking. Honestly, it's simpler to download/stream it online :/

The French DVD Gold Box Set used to be the most affordable to import (~$30), but obviously they wont have English subtitles nor simply play on an American DVD player.

Note: Official translation reads "Problem Hunter" and the Japanese reads "Onayami Hanta" and nayami seems to mean mostly personal troubles, as this site has tons of example sentences that translate it with that word.

So there's a little bit more clues. That's a weird type of hunter though.

You can watch the CA arc (ep76-148) dubbed legally by purchasing the individual "seasons" or sets. Sets 5, 6, and 7 are available on blu-ray, while you can also purchase digital versions on sites like amazon. However, the 7th set doesn't release until February 18th. Apparently these are the best you'll find. Under the Q&A section someone details the metals used. What sucks is that about 2 years ago these were on Amazon for less than $20. It might be a good thing if they started using quality metals. I really don't know for sure though.

The colored volumes are released digitally in Japanese. Currently through vol.34.

English chapters would be fan-made based on the above officially colored volumes. Though there are also a few fan colored chapters out there.

I'm in UK too and got mine from this seller on amazon marketplace, just under £30 each with free delivery from Japan which is about as cheap as you'll find for UK. It looks like they don't have them in stock on that link but you could try messaging them.

Edit: they do still carry Gon but the price has gone up a bit.

Just a heads up - if you aren't using Reddit Enhancement Suite- do so - it makes Reddit so much better.

And for mobile, I recommend Reddit Is Fun over the official app any day - better made, easier on the eyes.

seems great, il probably use it. the phone one allows u to fill colour over the paper even if it has lines in it which is a pretty good feature. i recommend u try it, it works great with a tablet but sadly all i have is the 5 inch phone. anw give it a try https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.sonymobile.sketch&amp;hl=en its really good
