I pushed an update to explain this better. We are missing some, but I will be working on it tonight.
You may have to hard referesh the page to see the changes.
Honestly, Having a DC in your DMZ, even if it is an RODC, is a bad idea. Avoid if you can.
Setting up an ADFS infrastructure isnt hard:
and you are done.
After just use this to setup FileCloud: https://www.getfilecloud.com/supportdocs/display/cloud/SAML+Single+Sign+On+Support
> Containers, compared to hypervisor virtualization, are more likely to be secure as, by design, their applications are logically restricted to their own environment.
I would like more information on this. Trying to track down a more definitive source, but this filecould blog post says:
> containers are less secure and more vulnerable compared to hypervisors. By accessing only a couple of namespaces through libcontainers and leaving out the rest of the kernel subsystems, containers make it easy for hackers to crack through their operating systems.
Which makes sense to me given how hypervisors and containers work, but I'm seeing conflicting information.

Over the past few days the site has seen unprecedented levels of traffic with 500GB of bandwidth being transferred in the past day alone. To overcome the challenges this presented, we have done the following: - Disabled any old page that caused MySQL to hang - Added 2 additional web servers that are load balanced - Made considerable changes that made it necessary to change the name of the "logged in" cookie. - Increased CloudFlare security level

>Then we have to support VPN users in troubleshooting when they forget how to connect or it doesn't work for some reason.
Not on the technical side (anymore), but we use Microsoft AlwaysOn VPN technology for our clients that still require and maintain on-prem Microsoft infrastructure. We use it internally as well, and it automatically connects to the VPN whenever an internet connection is detected.
Some of our clients use FileCloud to maintain access to file-level resources, with app-level sync of company files.
Used to roll out FileCloud for clients; either a hosted version or on-prem version depending on client needs, budget, requirements, and "negotiations" =P. They also claim to have integrated ransomware protection, but fortunately never had to test that claim.
There's tons... any NAS or file server solution would suffice, and implementing a VPN solution would work.
Or for ease of management, I might suggest a hosted account with FileCloud, or something similar. I have a feeling that for a "design" company, they probably also need access to those files for offsite presentations to clients and the such, so a platform that also provides easy-to-use mobile apps would probably also be a requirement (even if they don't know it yet =P). FileCloud also claims to provide protection against ransomware. Can't forget about security with whichever solution you're thinking about.
I'm biased - I think dropbox is fine for individuals, but I wouldn't use it for a business. Too many bad experiences with too many SMBs in the past that relied on it.
Thank you for mentioning FileCloud 😊
Disclaimer - I work at FileCloud
FileCloud is a great alternative to Dropbox. It is a leading enterprise file sharing and sync solution. FileCloud provides the speed and security of a traditional file server as well as the anywhere access of the cloud. It provides endpoint backup along with automatic mobile media backup and offers significant cost savings, better user experience and total control of corporate data. FileCloud cloud file server brings the benefits of cloud advanced file sharing capabilities.
You can read more about FileCloud at https://www.getfilecloud.com/file-server-on-cloud/
If you hard refresh ( https://www.getfilecloud.com/blog/2015/03/tech-tip-how-to-do-hard-refresh-in-browsers/), the buttons will appear.

Looks like OKC rolled out new styles yesterday evening (emoji on the right, boxes around answers, etc.), so you might have partially cached stylesheets or mismatched stylesheets and javascript.
Let me know if you continue to see the problem and I can file some bugs.
Because your browser caches (stores locally) certain parts of the website (images, CSS) for this very reason - to make it load faster.
You can 'hard refresh' pages by using the hotkeys listed here.
You can deploy and use ownCloud, Nexcloud, and FileCloud for the job. The software is good for building a self-hgosted file-based cloud. https://www.getfilecloud.com/owncloud-vs-nextcloud-why-filecloud-is-a-better-alternative/
The best option would be building a self-hosted private cloud. Consider NextCloud, ownCloud, and FileCloud as onsite, private cloud solutions. https://www.getfilecloud.com/owncloud-vs-nextcloud-why-filecloud-is-a-better-alternative/
>I was thinking of something along the lines of OwnCloud, would that be the best solution?
Consider NextCloud, ownCloud, and FileCloud as local, private cloud solutions. Either one allows you to share your media content through the self-hosted private cloud. Check the list of features and use either one that fits your requirements. https://www.getfilecloud.com/owncloud-vs-nextcloud-why-filecloud-is-a-better-alternative/
Build a simple file server based on FreeBSD. https://www.vmwareblog.org/building-freebsd-file-server/
Openmediavault would be an alternative solution. https://www.openmediavault.org/
However, if you need more advanced features, check Nexcloud and FileCloud. https://www.getfilecloud.com/owncloud-vs-nextcloud-why-filecloud-is-a-better-alternative/
Consider also ownCloud and FileCloud as alternatives. They are quite similar to NextCloud. Check the list of features and use either one that fits your requirements. https://www.getfilecloud.com/owncloud-vs-nextcloud-why-filecloud-is-a-better-alternative/

Is there any option you could connect the MS-DOS VM to the host machine using networking? https://www.getfilecloud.com/supportdocs/display/cloud/How+to+Mount+CIFS+Shares+from+Windows+Command+Line
You could try a FTP server, VPN server, or a Cloud service (Google Drive,etc.). Or keep remoting in, it might be helpful to use something like https://www.getfilecloud.com/.
Hopefully any of this is somewhat helpful.

FileCloud, as close of a "file server" you can get.
Their community edition for $10/year and you can try it on a small team.
Hyper-V replica can be configured to send changes downstream as low as 30 seconds, so it's not as "bad" as 15 minutes. But if you implement DFS for the file servers and utilize Active Directory's native replication, you don't necessarily need Hyper-V replica. You can also easily extend DFS and AD to implement site-level availability.
With DFS, you would be implementing within the guest, not the host. You would then work with DFS namespaces which would allow automatic client failover if one of the guest file servers went offline; though there's a bit of a lag for the system to recognize that one of the nodes went offline.

AFAIK there are no problems with backing up a DFS-enabled guest with Veeam or any other backup software. We use Datto and Unitrends for our backup and haven't had any problems.

I would also be implementing Shadow Copies within the guest file servers for the shared folders; this would allow quicker restore at the file-level, and only requiring Veeam if you need do a full system restore.

You can also implement a 3rd-party solution; we have a couple of clients that run FileCloud on-premise that handles the sync, and also provides dropbox-type of remote access.
FIXED!!
For anybody coming in the future i fixed by mounting the share with this command

sudo mount -t cifs -o username=USERNAMEHERE,password=PASSWORDHERE,uid=33,gid=33,rw,nounix,iocharset=utf8,file_mode=0777,dir_mode=0777 //192.168.0.0/path/to/media /mount/path
One of our clients uses FileCloud ServerLink for a similar setup... We didn't put it in; it went in before we took them on, but apparently it works well for them...
Try hard-refreshing (https://www.getfilecloud.com/blog/2015/03/tech-tip-how-to-do-hard-refresh-in-browsers/) or clearing your cache - metacpan is aggressively cached and you might be encountering that based on your usage of the site or geolocation.
We had a similar problem. 400 clients with around 800 users. Attempted to use SharePoint but found it is not really suited for this out of the box. Went with FileCloud. Easy and fairly well priced. Does most things out of the box.
The only option that we found that had pretty seamless integration with existing Microsoft file servers, and they also claim built-in anti-ransomware protection, though we've never needed to actually test that feature =P. The native integration with AD & NTFS was really what we were after. We didn't want to "figure out" how to make an open-source Linux variant, such as OwnCloud or NextCloud, integrate into an existing Microsoft AD environment.
They also have a Community Edition that's cheaper and with a tighter set of features. Some of our techs use this for their homelabs.
On a side note, they also have a completely free, personal-desktop option. We've also deployed this to some of our execs and client execs (outside of support scope though, so extra-billable), so that those execs can access their home computers; personal pictures, documents they forgot to upload to the network, etc. Their mobile and sync apps work pretty well; haven't seen many tickets come in for those.
Hi,
Have you tried Filecloud? they cater to most of your requirements. You can try it for free and then take a call based on your requirements https://www.getfilecloud.com/
Do check out Filecloud. https://www.getfilecloud.com/mobile-apps/. Also, you can access your NAS folder. You can try it for free and see if it meets your requirements
Have you checked out FileCloud? why don't you try for free and see if it meets your requirement? https://www.getfilecloud.com/ftp-replacement-for-filetransfer/
Have you tried FileCloud? https://www.getfilecloud.com/ They also have a community version. It is much simpler than nextcloud to setup. You can trial them for free and see if it works out for you
You can use your fiddler program to find out the LOCAL port of the connection to that address.
Then you can follow this quick guide to figure out which process is using that port.
Have you tried FileCloud ? It is a good tool for collaboration and many law firms are using it. https://www.getfilecloud.com/private-secure-file-sharing-lawyers-and-law-firms/
Why don't you go for a free trail and see if it works out for your firm
FileCloud Community Edition (on Docker if you want), unless you're dead-set on open-source.
FileCloud Community Edition (on Docker if you want), unless you're dead-set on open-source.
You could probably use FileCloud on Docker, and their Community Edition for $10/year, unless you insist on using OpenSource product.
And then you could also use SyncBack (maybe Pro) for all the sync relationships you need set up.
Check out FileCloud...
You can test drive their free demo, or try out Tonido, which is the desktop-version. They also have a Community edition for $10/year that contains *most* of the enterprise features.
Thanks all. I would give Filecloud community edition a try first as they are giving unlimited client/ limited user accounts and their features fit my requirements.
Why don't you try FileCloud? They have recently launched a community version. https://www.getfilecloud.com/filecloud-community-edition/
You can trial it and see if it works for your need
Also check out FIleCloud ? They have a new community edition with all features you might require https://www.getfilecloud.com/filecloud-community-edition/
I looked at the manual and it shows that for remote access you need to either open ports or setup a reverse proxy, so unless I am missing something that wouldn't work.
You might also want to check out our FileCloud Community Edition. The deployment is pretty simple. You just need to run the script to install. You can get it up and running in few minutes. Than you need to get a dns (noip) point to the server.
we have other enterprise level features like meta data management, smart classification/ DLP, device management and workflows. In general, these features don't matter much for small teams and personal use.The custom branding looks better in FileCloud - my opinion.
When people switch from NC to FileCloud - they do say FileCloud is stable, offers better sync, UX and easy to install.
Thank you. Here are something I consider FileCloud is better that NC.
Check out FileCloud Community Edition. It is not open source though. But you can install it in windows as well as linux servers. You can get started quickly.
Disclaimer: I am associated with the company that makes FileCloud.
FileCloud works great with large data. It can be self hosted or you can choose their online services. They have pretty decent mobile apps too!

You can try them for free and see if it suits you
I honestly couldn't tell you, because I've never experienced an outage with it. I've used it daily for the past couple of years without issue, at varying times of the day.

But that being said, the support site does provide instructions on what ports need to be configured on your home firewall to allow direct connection, so the answer to your question would probably be "yes", you probably just have to change the target host on your app to connect directly to your firewall.
Onedrive For Business lives on top of Sharepoint so you must have Sharepoint on-prem if you're trying to do Onedrive on-prem.
For an online sync with no cloud you're looking at RWW / RWA, VPN, or a third party solution (quick google result shows at least one - "Filecloud").
IMO you're better off tackling the root objection for cloud and deploying something like eFolder so you can have on-prem server shares syncing to off-prem systems.
Probably a cache/link issue. Try this:
1) Use moba.zengm.com without the https (the source of the problem) or use http
2) Refresh the cache doing this:

We recently deployed a new update which may have a bit of downtime for some people. Please try force reloading your game to see if that helps. If not, please let me know.
No problem. Just saw you mention Windows Server in the original post and assumed =P.
How about on-prem deployment of FileCloud? I might not be understanding your existing setup exactly though; but just a thought =P.

Recently made the jump to FileCloud by Codelathe; we were initially going to go with their on-premise option, but then ended up just rolling it out via hosted option to a selective number of teams that actually need to share with external parties.
I never implemented this as the client went with a cloud product, but here is a self hosted one that meets your requirements: https://www.getfilecloud.com/

Edit: Looks they offer a cloud now, but self hosted is still an option
Hi.. Here are some few key differences (although not very different from each other) and an alternate option for you to check out.
https://www.getfilecloud.com/owncloud-vs-nextcloud-why-filecloud-is-a-better-alternative/
Disclaimer -I do work for FileCloud :)
FileCloud offers similiar services that dropbox has and offers security features against Ransomware attacks and has 2FA Authentication. It can be implemented both On-cloud or on-prem ( If you have your own server). Do check it out https://www.getfilecloud.com/
Here's a piece on delta syncing... https://www.getfilecloud.com/blog/2017/03/myths-and-facts-about-delta-sync-why-delta-sync-doesnt-matter/
Check out Borg Backup... It's a tangential way to approach this problem but I've backed up 50GB or so very quickly over wifi due to its de-duplicating algorithms...
So for anyone else that is looking:

Ill let you know what we go with!
Also, we are using this with Nasuni. If you haven't used that, it is awesome!
This is just because I'm updating the game right now. It should be fixed now.
If you are still having problems- Sometimes you might have to do a "full refresh" to get the latest version.

FileCloud is an interesting product. But their licensing is not homelab friendly.
I also have customers using Egnyte. Another corporate product is Accellion.

This comparison chart is cool, but a little biased.

It's possible to program without having a good understanding of how the pieces fit together. Novice programmers tend to work by trial and error: try and see what it does. If a calculation is off by 1, add 1. This ends up producing a confusing hodgepodge that sort of works, but the programmer doesn't know why exactly.
Imagine building a structure with building blocks
You start with a plan, but you don't understand why blocks keep falling. After just randomly putting blocks together and using tape, plasticine, weights, and various other makeshift ways to get things to stay in place you finally get an oddly shaped, extremely unstable, but standing structure.
If asked why it stands, you have no idea. Why did you make it this way? It's the 30th random attempt that worked somehow. Improving it in any way carries a risk of the whole thing falling down.
Obviously not a desirable thing in software development, but all people have a limit to their ability to understand complex systems. At some point a large project grows past the point where a single person understands exactly what each part does and how everything fits together, and people specialize in an area. Interactions between different areas can get complicated.
