They're most likely trying to get rid of their physical copies before they change payment model, and from this it sounds like F2P rather than B2P. They want to get rid of their stock of physical copies so that retailers don't send them back to Carbine and demand money for them when they do the switch. TERA did the same exact thing before they went F2P: http://tera.enmasse.com/news/posts/buy-a-tera-box-get-an-epic-mount
This coupled with the fact that Australian retailers are pulling their copies of Wildstar makes me almost certain that this is the case, although I personally think B2P would have been better than F2P.
I think I can get behind a game where everyone is slutty. Equal opportunity objectification is the way to go. Now they only need to make bikini chainmails for that dog-raccoon thing.
I started up the Tera Beta and looked at the races.
I then discovered a race called Elin, they are a pedobears wet dream.
I then decided that i would not be playing that game. I simply can not support such blatant sexualisation of little girls.
Simply disgusting if you ask me.
Here's what I just posted in the forums, but I'll post here just for visibility:
A little bit about Iovation. It's a service we use to track and identify banned players and fraudulent users (like people who use stolen credit cards), preventing them from logging back into the game or making new accounts.
Our Privacy Policy still applies, and no information collected about these accounts is shared with 3rd parties: http://tera.enmasse.com/legal/privacy-policy
By the way, you should be able to log into TERA normally now.
I couldn't find this out for you. But the official announcement does say the each two day event lasts for about 60 hours. Assuming that it ends Sunday 11:59pm it will have to start at 12 noon on Friday to hit 60 hours.
Also En Masse Bluehole Studio is located in Seattle, so gonna assume that will be PST.
Wish I could help you more.
PvP has a lot of potential depending on how it's implemented. Right now the world PvP boils down to hoping your group can find an equally sized group otherwise it's generally a steamroll based on numbers. If you want to make things really interesting have a 5v5/10v10 in an area with a lot of BAMs in close proximity.
The combat is more about positioning and awareness than it is about your class or use of abilities. Gear (your weapon, mostly) has a massive impact on a fight's outcome, unfortunately. Other than that, there isn't an inherent advantage given to someone at a higher level. A level 10 and a level 20 in the same gear will generally deal and receive the same amount of damage except in abilities that rank up.
PvE is fairly lackluster with the given content. I have fun healing the dungeons with the new mechanics, but they're not something you really want to be grinding out all day. This is fine as it results in more people in the world to interact with.
A lot of hate is dumped on the (admittedly) terrible questing system currently implemented. However, keep an eye on it because the US publisher have stated they're improving it for launch. Either way, it's kind of a non-issue for me as I don't typically play these games for the lore and end up putting the quests on autopilot anyway.
I've pre-ordered and have been having a blast through the betas but I'm not sure I can recommend people who are on the fence about it to give it all their money until it's had time to develop a little bit more.
Don't play on EU. Not only is the Europe version Pay2win, but its horribly run and has so many issues. Play on NA servers; while it may be slightly more laggy, its totally worth it to play on NA.
Yep, Head Start now begins at 8:00 AM Pacific tomorrow morning.
Hydraths. I hate these things with a passion. They cluster up like crazy and move around constantly. Their AOE attacks have massive range and short wind-up and they have a super long range trample to boot.
http://tera.enmasse.com/pages/patch-172902
There's no mention of refined or masterwork. Just alkahest. But far be it from me to keep you from wasting customer support's time.
Do me a favor though and please update us with what they say to you.
Steam: http://store.steampowered.com/app/323370/TERA/
Beautiful and colorful graphics, good sound and neat combat. Game is free to play, easy to pickup and has lots of do before hitting the paywall. Game can be played solo or with a party. Special classes are locked to paying players only. Average of 1,836 concurrent players over the last 30 days with the player base steadily declining. Could be a fun game to get into, but I wouldn't count on it being around/active many more years.
Deal is for an All-Access Pack which includes Level 60 Scroll (instant level 60 character), Argon Front Gear (level 58+ gear) and Elite Status for 15 Days (free travel journal [savable fast travels]; village atlas [town fast travel]; daily gold, 100% XP boost, and rep boosts; exclusive mounts; store discounts; more).
We hold tournaments from time to time. Our second tournament was a few months ago. Our twitch channel has videos of it too. We are currently in the planning process for another tournament to be held in the next few months.
The rest of your questions seem to be answered by the other comments. Have fun!
Have a look here for extra information about Tera: http://tera.enmasse.com/game/what-is-tera-page
Also have a look here for a guide on what the classes are: http://tera.enmasse.com/game/classes
Literally the second post on the front page...
> Some players are being auto-logged into servers on which they have no characters, causing more than a little confusion. (One of our writers has this happen almost every time, so you’re not alone!)
Welcome and hope you enjoy your stay!.
If you like both PvP and PvE then Mount Tyrranus is the obvious (only real?) choice.
BTW if you are using the EME (North American) client be aware that there is an AFK event going on where if you spend 5 hours per day logged in between now and Monday, and 12 hours in total you get some very nice rewards:
http://tera.enmasse.com/news/posts/tera-s-allegiance-weekend-event
For a new player those rewards are amazing.
Also get a buddy up code from here for Mount Tyrranus :
https://forums.enmasse.com/tera/discussion/96/buddyup-codes-thread/p185
Remember you can only use it on ONE character so if you use it and delete the character you cant use another code (unless you spend 30 days without playing on the server). You have 30 days to get to cap to get all the rewards for buddy-up.
Also this is a great site for general info:
Good luck!
They actually did an interview a few years back and said the game was going to get shut down, but a spike in revenue help pulled it back from the brink.
What saved it? Loli characters with school uniforms and swimsuit costumes for it. Yes, what saved a high fantasy world with leading edge combat was elins and their costume sales.
I'd love to see the sale numbers for those full body animal costumes. Saw them everywhere when they came out.
TLDR:
Brawlers came out. They're really good. If you plan on starting from scratch again I would highly recommend leveling a Brawler for a fast and easy leveling experience if tanking is cool to you. Tanks will always be in demand.
Starfall is the new high tier PvE gear. It's crafted from mats you get mainly from Forsaken Island, Dreadspire (lower), and Kalivans Dreadnaught (all of which are relatively new content).
Ghilleglade has far less value (doesn't drop gold anymore), but still somewhat profitable to run if you have good rng in drops. TAR is gone and the VG points you get from dailies have been raised while the amount of VG dailies have been reduced.
Island of Dawn has a new zone for 65 players that has a new quest line and soloable BAMs. These BAMs are part of your VG dailies and should be ran everyday.
PvE Tier list is roughly Brawler > Gunner/Reaper > Slayer > Warrior/Archer > Zerk/Sorc. BHS still continues to make the newest class the best one. There's a new Elin only Ninja class that will be out by the end of summer that will continue this pattern. New content and gear will be coming with the Ninja patch.
The patch that Brawler came out in is known as the Knockout patch. The inititial patch notes for that patch can be found HERE. There have been a lot of patch changes since then that you can Google yourself and look up, but what i linked at least gives you a starting point for how things have changed post-Gunner.
I'm sure there are more little things to note that others will mention, but those are the main things off the top of my head.
Elin are not as popular as you think, and this infographic is far before Gunners, being the fourth most played race out of seven. Castanic and High Elves undoubtedly have a higher percentage today.
Some women I know adore Elin and their cutesy factor and also play dress-up with them, so I find it wrong to consider a man a weirdo for playing one (or any young-ish character). At that point, it's assuming too much. As I've worked in the Education field and seen men terrified of being accused of something just for interacting with children, I find it tragic there's such a stigma these days that makes them a pedo for no reason except for being male. When I was younger, this was not so prevalent a worry. I doubt anyone cared about my history, but it is what's shaped my opinion on the matter. For the amount of scares and attention the media gives pedophilia, the actual danger of it occurring is not equal to the coverage.
I'm not a fan of the whole loli thing myself, but I won't go so far as to demonize those playing it.
I shouldn't have to quit a game because of one person slandering me and my guild, There's are Rules of Conduct in place to prevent these type of things occurring. http://tera.enmasse.com/legal/rules-of-conduct
>All TERA servers and some websites will be under extended maintenance on April 30 from 12:00 AM – 1:00 PM PDT.
http://tera.enmasse.com/news/posts/earlier-head-start-and-upcoming-maintenance
It hasn't been updated on that page yet but the bar across the top of every page now states 1:00 PM PDT.
Denommenator 11:12PM We have published this list more broadly to our news feed here:
http://tera.enmasse.com/news/posts/week-one-known-issues
Bluehole has been working hard to resolve some of these issues and I am happy to report that we are testing a build in-house that is intended to address some of the higher-priority items on this list. When we have an ETA for that build's release, we'll let you know!
Someone who doesn't even play Tera could prove you wrong by simply going to Google and typing "Tera <year> Anniversary Event" and reading the damn news post. Last year was the egghunt with the Halos and shit. Stop trying to whiteknight so fucking hard, because you're godawful at it.
Proof:
http://tera.enmasse.com/tera-two-year-anniversary
http://tera.enmasse.com/news/posts/happy-third-anniversary-tera
http://tera.enmasse.com/news/posts/tera-anniversary-event-caiman-egg-hunt
This event is one big joke, kind of like your poor knowledge of the game you so try so hard to defend.
http://tera.enmasse.com/news/posts/rogues-gallery-weapons-in-the-tera-store
You can outright buy a normal version of the weapon skin in a smartbox - guaranteed weapon skin, and whichever character you open the smartbox on, you get that class's normal weapon skin.
Or you can buy the loot boxes, which have a chance of giving you the Premium version smartbox, meaning that you have a box for the premium weapon skin (it has black smoke effect) - and whichever character you open the smartbox on, you get that class's premium weapon skin.
Also there is a video in that news page that shows you the preview of the weapon skins - both the normal and premium versions - for all classes.
Not that this isn't enough, but:
"fod?"- someone asking: "does anyone need this? If not, everyone roll need for dismantling into feedstock"
+9/+12/+15 - these are gear enchantment levels. Usually phrased as gear requirements:
DISCO- tier 6 gear, discovery, example: "LFM SCNM N>DPS +12 DISCO" - translation: "looking for members for sky cruiser endeavor normal mode, need damage classes, be wearing discover tier 6 gear, master worked, with +12 enchanting on all/most pieces."
Also battle grounds:
CS: Corsairs' Stronghold - 20v20 castle siege.
KUMAS: Kumasylum - 3v10 - you can't do this one until 65. It's better to just read about it here: http://tera.enmasse.com/game-guide/battlegrounds
FWC: Fraywind Canyon - 15v15 - you capture objective points and defend. Usually this is for people in full pvp gear.
That's about all I have for now.
I found a few examples, in concurrence with Omergurlek.
Here's an example of the terms of sale for EU subscribers to World of Warcraft. Check out section 4. Here is the US version's terms. Look at section 1.
Similarly, here are the terms of sale for TERA, although this language appears to specifically target their in-game store.
Yes, this kind of language is very common. It's akin to a grocery store deciding to up the price on its brand new, oh-so-popular Ben& Jerry's flavors. Or for a closer analogy, think of a bank that charges a fee on your checking account. They may raise that fee at some point. But they may be required, either by law or by the bank's own internal policy, to notify you in advance. Your objection to an increased fee must be made in the form of ending your relationship with that bank (aka closing your account and taking it elsewhere. Because what decent bank charges a fee these days, anways?)
To my knowledge, no mainstream mmo has increased its subscription fee in a long time, if ever. The inevitable PR nightmare that would follow... I can't even imagine the shitstorm they'd have to weather.
EDIT: I can't format, because I'm dumb.
We've seen a few requests for how the weapon skins look, so we've updated our blog post with some images for those who are interested: http://tera.enmasse.com/news/posts/premium-services-novelty-items-now-available#novelty-item-images?utm_source=reddit&utm_medium=social_media&utm_campaign=store
I'm glad you gave it a chance despite the korean MMO stigma. Not many "western" MMO players are willing to do that.
Not sure if you are reading this but some points I'd like to add:
There is a NPC (in most towns) that lets you refill all your stamina for a fee (it scales with levels) and isn't that costly. So you won't have to wait minutes at a campfire. Dying should be a penalty so I think getting your stamina back is punishment enough.
NA has the larger player base. If you are worried about population just join NA PvP servers even some PvE servers are very populated. As you can check here. [url]http://tera.enmasse.com/server-status[/url]
I played casually for a couple months without spending any cash. I was only doing solo PVE during that time, but I had no real trouble progressing or finding enough things to do to make it fun.
It looks to me like the main benefit of this pack is the level 60 boost. Here are the benefits of Elite status.
Battle Maiden (level 30)
Grim Amazon (level 58)
Dark Raven (level 60)
Fate Weaver (level 65)
Chooser of the Slain (level 65 during the event, not the first 24 hrs)
http://tera.enmasse.com/news/posts/new-class-the-valkyrie
Few yellow quests are necessary, but it sounds like you are definitely wanting some rewards and a mount.
You should go into your Achievement window (V key by default) and there is a green Rewards menu you can browse through. Whenever you find something you are interested in, you can click on it and it will take you to the achievement that provides that reward. A lot of times it will be a final achivement for achieving X number of other achievements, but they should be in the same general area so just look for those achievement names in the list.
That being said, here are some easy achievements:
Well Traveled achievement - Easy achievements and 275 Raptor Mount & Juicy Pet
Vista Achievements - Southern Arun Vistas provides a small but permanent 0.1% additional damage reward, they are overall fun to find if you have never done them before.
Alliance content - while mostly obsolete, not many players do this anymore, meaning that it can be very easy to become an Echelon and receive the 290 speed mount that lasts a week. Easy to maintain for minimal effort each week.
"You Would Think I'd Learn" - permanent 100 hp for using 100 of every basic bandage
These are just a few easy ones, there are more, especially some that provide pets. Like I said, take some time look through your achievement window and don't be afraid to Google "Tera <achievement name>" to find help on how to best complete those achievements.
For comparison of regular founder versus free or elite, this page breaks down the differences.
The collector's edition includes all perks of a regular founder account, plus an exclusive mount (regal frostlion) and some level 15 and 40 jewelry you can claim as many times as you like (only useful for levelling). If you purchase a physical copy of the CE as opposed to just a CE key you also get some physical goodies: a map of Arborea, a Tera-themed compass and a letter of marque from Commander Seir as well as the soundtrack on disc.
And don't forget to enter the code in backwards to get some more free stuff.
Account-bound mounts place the skill book under the account items tab of your item claim. These items are untradable but can be claimed as many times as you like, and hence given to all your characters present and future. The only exception is the Terminus mount (founder mount), which is automatically applied to all your characters, present and future.
Did you read my other comment? A gunner theme similar to what has been published on EME's page would basically be blue and white and gold, which is the same color scheme that this sub has used for years. Just trying to switch it up.
I did just make a darker purple for Dark Mode's visited links, which provides more variety. Hopefully that will help cut against the electric purple a little bit.
Was your character created during a closed beta or after open beta started? From the Tera En Masse site:
>The start of our Open Beta Test on April 19 marks the first time players will be able to create and play characters that will persist through to launch and beyond.
If so, your character was intended to be kept from open beta onward. This is pretty normal for MMO launches that include an open beta event (it doesn't always happen, but often does).
Here's the line you are looking for in the Terms of Service: > En Masse does not recognize the transfer of Accounts or any items incorporated into or part of TERA, including without limitation any characters, game items, EMPs or any other content or information therein (“Contents”). You may not purchase, sell, gift, trade, or offer to purchase, sell, gift or trade, any Account or any Contents incorporated into or part of TERA, and any such attempt shall be null and void.
That being said, as long as you keep the transaction completely off of the game and the forums/subreddit (aka keep the details to e-mail or private messages), I can't imagine it would be a problem. As far as EME would be able to tell, they would only be able to trace an in-game gold transfer and then someone added a Founder code to their account. I doubt they are looking at trade transactions every time someone applies a Founder code to their account.
However, if anything would go wrong with it and you get scammed, you might not have good luck if you try to report it.
But technically, only EME can really answer this question to be 100% sure, and there shouldn't be any reason why you wouldn't be able to put in a support ticket to them.
Is it against the rules? Maybe. Take a good look through the Terms of Service and End User License agreement. But as long as you keep it private, I'd say there is a slim chance of running into an account ban.
Yeah.... I don't think this information is correct.
Struthio mounts were released Sept 2013, here is the announcement.
It's pretty clear there that Ember is the one that restores Stamina.
Your friend can put in a support ticket, but nobody here is going to be able to predict if they will help him or not.
Standard En Masse Rules: http://tera.enmasse.com/legal/rules-of-conduct
By using different new accounts to boost ranking score of your original accounts, you are breaking rule #14.
> * Rule #14: Cheating: Do not use third party programs, macros, client side hacks, or other things that give you an unfair advantage in the game. Just because others haven’t gotten caught (yet) doesn't mean you should do it.
It's common knowledge that GM's can and will check logs to see if 2 accounts are under the same IP, and they can check if you recently changed it to hide.
By doing this, you might also be breaking rule #19.
> * Rule #19: Game exploits: let us know about these instead of exploiting them. If you use TERA’s (or ZMR) game mechanics in any way the GMs deem unsportsmanlike or that deviates from the spirit of the game, the GM staff will not only make frownie faces at you, but possibly pursue disciplinary action.
Again, you might be breaking this rule too because it's exploiting the way how ladder ranks work. Mostly because barely anyone is willing to do ladder matches and you can "exploit" the system by making 2 teams, 1 for getting rank points, the other for losing on purpose to boost the other team's ranks.
See them all here!
Because Im sick and lazy here is my solution I posted in /r/games.
>For those who are crying for EnMasse (NA publisher) to let TERA go F2P. I would like to drop some Knowledge for you. As of right now the game is pretty much B2P with 2+ Months of game time depending on how fast/slow you level.
> So yes you can play the game for about 3~months with out spending 15$ if you hit 60 with in that time frame you will be able to continue.
> Side note if you play find a good guild like any mmo play with new and old friends have fun. MMO's are not meant to be played solo and you will not enjoy it by yourself.
Assuming you were playing on the NA version:
As for what's coming up next, expect more nexus times (with reduced rewards), fixed enchanting, and crafting quests as seen here.
Generally the merge has not been THAT well-received so far, but we'll have to wait and see in the future.
I consider Tera worth it. It's a niche game though and will never be as popular as others.
You can try it free for 7 day's once you get to level 20 and fight Bam's it gets alot more fun.
http://tera.enmasse.com/news/posts/play-tera-free-for-seven-days?utm_source=facebook&utm_medium=social_media&utm_campaign=news Link for Trial.
Try the free no download required Demo (Demo sucks btw but w/e)
Tera is a non tab target game that is a very gear dependent game. The game to me is amazing and I love it. Ruined many many games from me because I can no longer play tab target anything because of how incredibly 2001 it feels.
Check out TERA-Online.com for an article about this topic!
Right from En-Masse if you're in NA!
http://tera.enmasse.com/preorder
Pre-ordering any version gets you into all of the Closed Betas, the Open Beta, and the Head Start as well. CBT1 ends tonight at 11:59 PM PST.
You'll want to visit http://tera-europe.com/ if you're in EU.
FFXIV $12 per month and the game with all expansions is on sale right now, first month is free or you can try the trial completely free up to level 30 and see if you like it. Being honest, but if you can't afford that then your options are extremely limited to f2p and cheap b2p, neither of which will have good graphics like BDO.
Edit: Maybe TERA would be something you could look at.
Rule 8. No server status post, it's not that hard, if it says the server is down, then it's down, if you have trouble and think it's not the server then reassure checking http://tera.enmasse.com/server-status and waiting 5 minutes, or close and re-log your client.
The population is stable. There are enough people playing to keep the market afloat and the dungeons clear of the bad guys. Spellbound was the overhaul of the sorcerer class, putting them in the lead in terms of damage output (because neither Bluehole Studio nor En Masse Entertainment have any idea what "balance" means). It also added new dungeons and put a couple old dungeons back into the game. You can read more about that here. There has been another update since then called "Fang and Feather". This patch introduced an archer revamp and the game's first proper raid. Read more about that here.
It's worth mentioning that the "Stamina" system has been removed, as have campfires and charms. Whatever your stats were at 120% Stamina are now your base stats. Charms have been replaced by Battle Solutions. There are 3 tiers of these. Certain dungeons require that you use a Battle Solution at the start in order to proceed (though it is strongly preferred you always use them regardless). Alchemy has essentially been broken, with no word on when this particular crafting system will be fixed. The only things that can currently be crafted under Alchemy are the aforementioned Battle Solutions. It seems to be business as usual with the other professions, but I'm not 100% certain on that since I haven't dealt with Armor/Weapon/Etching crafting since the recent patches.
If I had to summarize the state of the game in one word, it would be "adequate". It's still the same old TERA you know and love (or don't). Whatever pushed you to quit the game before likely hasn't changed. If it was just a break you needed, I'd recommend giving the game a try again.
It's because gameforge pressured enmasse to block tera on steam for europeans. check this link for the official announcement: http://tera.enmasse.com/news/posts/important-news-for-europe-and-russia
If you want to plan Na tera from Europe download the client on tera.enmasse.com
i have a laptop with a quad core 1.7, nvidia 360m card and it's playable.
game is pay to progress. you can buy EMP, sell that for gold buy bis gear. but nothing in the shop that's better than what's crafted/earned in game.
list of classes can be found on Tera's website.
Depends on play amount and which class. can be a few days to a month.
there's a sticky up top with a very nice FAQ, i suggest reading it.
"Oh, and don't forget: Starting Tuesday, May 5, and continuing for three weeks, we’ll be giving out our Beep Boop Bot Bundle, which contains one EX-TRM mount, an additional character slot item, and a collection of charms, campfires, and panaceas. All you have to do to receive the bundle is log into TERA during that time. "

This is on the front page of the main site...
Go back through the Youtube videos (from Oldest to Newest) and you can see the history of large events and content patches.
https://www.youtube.com/user/enmasseentertainment/videos?flow=grid&view=0&sort=da
Also the pages aren't hidden, you just have to google for them. Crazy concept, I know.
> This double XP event includes any monster you kill, including the ones you kill in dungeons! (It does not include quest XP.)
It's hunting xp only - just like always.
>What has changed?
You now get federation bills for logging in for a minute. They can be exchanged for stuff.
You also get a BAM token chest for logging in for 15mins. Tokens exchanged for stuff.
New class was introduced. The reaper.
Wounded World patch. New dungeons. New gear (t15). New UI. Nexus and battleground changes. http://tera.enmasse.com/news/patch-notes/patch-2707
Kumas in Kumasylum got nerfed hard.
Blast from the Past system where you can queue into lowbie dungeons and be scaled down accordingly.
Corsair's changes.
>I really want to main an Archer in PvP and PvE. Are they in a good state? Last time I hear is they were really bad :/
They're good. I don't remember when they ever sucked really. They got nerfed HARD and are still fucking good.
>What race should I make my Archer?
Elin/Popori have the quickest stunkick animations. Only really relevant if you're trying to squeeze out every last advantage you can get in PvP. Otherwise anything is fine.
You're fairly spot-on. How much you'll enjoy the game depends largely on how much the combat sucks you in. The quest system is, in all honesty, super-generic and archaic in its design. If you are willing to overlook the "go here to kill x" standard of questing for the combat, this is a game worth checking out. I, personally, don't really mind the questing, and the combat really works for me.
That said, give the game a whirl on trial to see if you like it before you do anything. Make your own judgment.
Also, make sure it's going to be something you can stick to. There's 60 bucks and (unless you buy chronoscrolls on the auction house) and a subscription fee to think about. There's also a very HIGH possibility that Tera will go Free-To-Play in the future, possibly the near future, even. If you absolutely, positively MUST play this game on a regular basis, go ahead and buy it, but it might be worth it to weather the wait and jump in at a later date.
Also, to the people of this subreddit: Do NOT downvote people who have a negative opinion of the game. Tera, like many other games, isn't for everyone, so unless they're frothing with baseless vitriol for the game, please respect their opinions so the OP can get a more balanced picture of what he's going to get into.

I can't find anything about farming gold in either of these. What most likely happened is you spent so much time farming that you look like a bot on their logs.
If this is even your screenshot and not a repost (in true reddit style)
If by lately you mean the extended maintenance yesterday and the downtime in the middle of last night, then yes.
They gave us updates as to why this was happening, and an explanation.
They actually delayed updating something in order to get the servers back.
>You will now earn Infamy Points for killing lower-level players—60 points for players 6-10 levels lower than you; 120 points for players 11 or more levels lower than you.
not 10 points per level.
During CBT I never saw outlaw status go away when I had infamy. As far as I am aware it only goes away when your infamy as returned to 0. Infamy only decreases 1 every 5 minutes regardless of if you are logged in or not.
Killing small mobs (normally found in groups) that are your level will not decrease infamy. only normal and BAMS will of your level or higher will decrease your infamy.
unless I missed something in the patch notes, these should be clarifications of DetectiveHazamas post.
http://tera.enmasse.com/support/server-status
Shows PS4 is down. I started having issues connecting yesterday after really no problem since I came back a week and a half ago or so.
Surprised haven’t seen any other posts about this, unless I just missed them?
I found the last bit a little odd:
>Check out the TERA site to learn more.
The main site has zero information about the Call to Arms update. The "This week in TERA" header links to information for last week. There isn't even any information on the forums.
For Banks: Will my banks be merged? All of your bank contents from different servers will be moved to a temporary bank on the new server. (Your account banks from different servers will only transfer if you have at least one character on the server where the bank items are stored.)
You will see a button at the bottom of your standard bank menu to access the temporary bank. The temporary bank has multiple tabs and tab pages to accommodate even a large number of bank items.
You can only withdraw items from the temporary bank; you cannot deposit items into the temporary bank. The temporary bank has no time limit, so you do not need to rush to make room in your standard bank.

This is incorrect. The info thread on the official forums says everyone will get 5 free character slots on the new server so you’ll only need to delete some if you have more than 7.
Edit: they are giving away five free slots the week before the merge, you have to add them manually to any server and you’ll have the total slots of the server with the highest slot total.

They updated the event (the same as the "U" request) to give more people a chance to get it. If you looked at the event page before posting, you would have seen it says the following now:
>Here's how it works. Complete the actions listed below to receive the letters you need. > > * G: Collect your G from Item Claim today!
> * U: [UPDATED] Starting today, complete the level 65 Vanguard Request, "Hunt Brutal Ovoliths" on the Island of Dawn and you'll receive a U.
> * N: Starting Friday, June 15, complete any level 65 dungeon and receive an N. You'll need two, of course, but you may complete the same dungeon twice if you wish.
> * E: [UPDATED] Starting Monday, June 18, complete the level 65 Vanguard Request, "Hunt Brutal Onyx Hydraths" or "Hunt Brutal Basilisks" on the Island of Dawn and you'll receive an E.
> * R: Starting Thursday, June 21, complete Lilith's Keep or Lilith's Keep (Hard) and you’ll receive an R.
The OP is saying the "E" isn't appearing when he gets it, as it should, via the event page
http://tera.enmasse.com/news/posts/how-fast-can-you-level-to-65 They specifically say one per server. I would just go to a new server if you want to receive the rewards. Level 20 isn't to far considering the level 65 cap if you wanna think about it optimistically.
They're not available on console.
From the website announcement for the maid outfit http://tera.enmasse.com/news/posts/fresh-sushi-maid-to-order-xb1-ps4 :
*The social emotes included in the maid bundles for PC are not included in the console versions of these bundles.
Same reason the "monster/beast" races in every Asian mmo have cool looking males and then their females are basically hot human ladies with horns and a tail.
Here is just ONE of the many examples. http://tera.enmasse.com/game-guide/races/aman
This shit is disgraceful but the number of people opposed to it is a drop in the ocean compared to the number of people who only want their fanservice. It's not going away. I'm not a SJW, I love me some fine pixel booty, believe it, but I also love monsters and robots (especially monsters vs robots!) and you just get exhausted with the lack of diversity, lack of imagination. But there's nothing you can do but make an effort to create more interesting and varied characters in your own, personal creative works.
There was a recent revamp to the gearing system. Your existing gear shouldn't have changed, but any gear your collect from here on out will grant you the option to pick the perks.
Edit: Arsenal patch notes.
Mystic is a good choice as a partner class since it is a support class, if you que to dungeons together you can level up quickly.
As for solo leveling I suggest you use a buddy-up code on your solo character for the extra exp and exp scrolls the buddy-up system gives. With valkyrie using a proper rotation do mobs or BAMs recommended by your vanguard window while que-ing for dungeons or you can que the battleground names Kumas Royale which gives a good amount of exp, gold and chests which are useful for leveling. I reached lvl 65 in 11 hours with this method which is not so bad for a solo leveling dps class.

Unless it's changed in the past few months, the recruit doesn't get a permanent mount, and I don't remember a "Rare Store Item" unless that's the item you use to choose which head accessory you get?(if so, probably just right click it)
Irrelevant to buddyup, you should get a quest for a flying mount which is what you'll use anyway for speed
Edit: buddyup rewards are here http://tera.enmasse.com/game-guide/buddyup-system for NA at least
I'll always love the Tera Online ToS where they have one column called "Official Legally-Binding Stuff" and one called "Plain English". And one thing there sums it up nicely:
> TERA is En Masse's sandbox; we're just letting you play in it.
There are more TERA publishers, running they server - hence the different shop currency.
Uuh, you're on NA server (Enmasse) and she is on EU server (Gameforge).
If one of you wants to move, you need to download different client (you can't transfer data, you would be starting from 0)
Steam autoselects between EU/NA as far as I know.
There's nothing wrong with wanting to know the pro's/ con's of a class before sticking with it. And damage is obviously an important factor for some/most people when choosing a class. I also wouldn't consider brawler fotm really... it's been out for almost 7 months now, all the fotm brawlers switched to Ninja anyway. And if you don't enjoy tanking why would you even bother with brawler.
http://tera.enmasse.com/game-guide/gameplay/enchanting
Watch alliance chat for notices from your exarch about when the gold enchanter will be activated. Once it is, it is only available for 1 hour.
Already plenty of good advice in this thread. Just wanted to say welcome to TERA and have fun!
Also yes, use your BuddyUp code. Here's a link to details.
Yes they do. At the end, "Race change vouchers are grayed out for gunners, but do function to change high elf females into castanic females, and vice versa."
Obviously elin because of their looks. No need to even explain the other races. But each race have specific passives unique to themselves. All the passives of each race are listed Here. Castanic is the best due to statwise, but to be honest, the difference is minimum and not even noticeable, so just play whatever race you like.
/u/irishguard, ask for his skype for personal lessons
If you have elite, pop you your gold boost and due ghilli. To max out on your Vanguard credit (only if you have time), Do 3 Dungeons first, and then finish up with doing "That ain't Right" Vanguard quest. You can open up to the Vanguard with the button "H". If you are limited on time, just do all 16 sets of "That ain't Right". The reason why you want to save 3 of your 16 VG (Vanguard) badges is because the quest ones are only limited to 3 a day (meaning the 4th and etc... dungeon you do will only give u a very small chunk of gold and not count as VG) and give you a bunch of stuff (Off the top of my head, 240g, 80 t8 feedstock, 8 tier 8 spellbind and like 50 or so VG credits. This is just from farming one character, and if you repeat this on multiple, it's a very quick and effective way to make money.
Find people who are willing to pass for you or just pass runs in the LFG. There are lots of friendly people out there willing to help people out.
Kill the Executors of each alliance.
The Executors are essentially each alliance's "boss" that are only able to be defeated during alliance conflict, which happens every Sunday around 7-8 PM EST.
In order to have a chance to kill another alliance's executor you must be Echelon 3+ which entails being at least top 120 in the alliance ranking system during the week prior to when you want to attend conflict. Alliance score/rank resets every Tuesday after maintenance which is when new ranks are decided. So if you want to do conflict you must be top 120 or higher rank (not score) before servers go down when maintenance happens on tuesday.
Alliance conflict is a huge PvP zergfest (usually at least 20v20v20, most of the time more depending on how many show up) where the goal is to kill as many savaliths and eventually the executor in the enemy territories while defending the savaliths/executor in your territory.
I believe savaliths are worth 25k? points EACH and executor is worth 50k (I don't remember, haven't did conflict since vm2 days). The alliance who receives the most points wins so long as their executor is not killed. What alliance is strongest at the time usually determines what executor(s) may be able to be killed that week.
Seeing as you must kill all 3 executors to get the achievement you must be in at least two different alliances to get the achievement.
Also conflict can be won without killing the executors so even if you're winning you may not have a chance to kill the enemy's executor. Typically if an alliance has no chance of winning they will allow their executor to be killed just so they can get their gold from conflict and go about other tasks.
If you have any other questions about alliance feel free to ask. Sorry if this is a little long for an ELI5 but I feel it's necessary to properly explain what the executors are and when you can go kill them.
>The beach party starts on Thursday, July 16 (after maintenance), and only lasts until Tuesday, August 25—so get as much sun as you can before it’s gone!

http://tera.enmasse.com/server-status
https://www.facebook.com/TERAonline?fref=ts
Maintenance is on Tuesday 7am PDT - standard downtime is 2hrs but if it's just a quick routine maintenance it can be as short as an hour, if it's in preparation for a big patch it could take a few hours.
Actually, tera has one of the best websites with pretty much a guide to everything from what i've seen.
http://tera.enmasse.com/game-guide/gameplay/crafting http://tera.enmasse.com/game-guide/gameplay/enchanting
etc.
Some more info can be found here. Your first target will be to complete said quests. If it does not make sense google some more for Tera Idoneal quest, this was the first result.
With "End game" we mean the grind for the gear at levelcap. So that means Ambit, Disco, Generation for PvE. (I do not know the names for PvP.)
> 8. No Server Status Posts
Probably because they don't want a bunch of the same threads starting up every time a server goes down. You can check out http://tera.enmasse.com/server-status to see when it comes back up.
Edit: fixed spelling.
[Here's a fairly general guide for a lot of stuff to get you dungeon ready.](/r/TeraOnline/comments/36dq0d/official_weekly_anything_goes_thread/crd6cvo)
Here's another with more specifics about some things you should know.
Does anyone read news announcements anymore?
> How long will server transfers be free?
> The free transfer period will begin Tuesday, June 9 after maintenance, and run until maintenance on Tuesday, June 16. During this week, the minimum level on transfers will be lowered to 15, and the server transfer cooldown will increase to seven days.
My mistake, this isn't for founders. Ill look up some info.
UPDATE:
Basically the founder item stuff is the same for everyone but during the launch of the game, if you bought it within the first month they gave these skins away for a limited time.
4/30/12: Source
>While many players are new to TERA, some have been following the game for years. To celebrate TERA's strong community and North American launch, En Masse Entertainment would like to provide a launch gift to everyone who purchases the game and subscribes before May 31: a full set of Golden Dragon weapon skins, cosmetic items you can attach to any weapon type to change its appearance.
>Already purchased your TERA subscription? Thank you! You will receive the Golden Dragon weapon skins when your initial 30 days of game time ends and your subscription billing begins. You'll find the full set waiting for you in the Item Claim pane in-game. These weapon skins are bound to your account, so you can claim them using any or all of your characters. They cannot be sold, traded, or stored in the bank.
Just did some research, found this:
"While this finishes off the month of May, we’ll have more events in June and the following months to keep the party rolling. Stay tuned for more updates!"

No, you're most definitely wrong. If you flag for PvP, you can kill anyone, but anyone can kill you, above level 11.
>PK
>PK is short for "Player Kill," and works exactly like it sounds. At level 11 (on PvP servers only) you obtain a skill that lets you declare yourself an "outlaw." You can then try to kill any player above level 11. However, when you are an outlaw, any player can try to kill you as well.
You must have just missed the quest
The EX-TRM (what you've called a "robotic beetle") should still be available to you in your item claim. You'll only get one of them, so you can try farming BAMs for letters for the Jadeheart dragon. There are a lot of Jadeheart mounts on the market right now, so you'll probably be able to pick one up cheaply while competition is high.
From the announcement for this month's festivities:
>Oh, and don't forget: Starting Tuesday, May 5, and continuing for three weeks, we’ll be giving out our Beep Boop Bot Bundle, which contains one EX-TRM mount, an additional character slot item, and a collection of charms, campfires, and panaceas. All you have to do to receive the bundle is log into TERA during that time.
and...
>T.E.R.A.: On Tuesday, May 12, the T.E.R.A. event returns! This event will drop four items throughout the game, and items will represent the letters T, E, R and A. If you collect all four, then right-click on the A, the combined letters will turn into a permanent Jadeheart dragon mount that replenishes Stamina.
Here's the link for the event:
http://tera.enmasse.com/news/posts/level-up-fast-and-get-rewarded-for-it
You can easily get to 65 within a week. I've been casually leveling with friends since Wednesday and we're 45 on gunners now. :)
Good luck at work! o7
Steam will let you use your steam wallet to buy EMP (cash shop money), other than that the steam version is just another way to log on to Tera-NA (http://tera.enmasse.com/), same servers, same people on them.
Though I'm obviously not Treeshark, the answer to your question was made available almost at the same time you asked, such timing! New gear + dungeons scheduled for late July.

It's going to be a looooooooooooooong time. Did you not read the contest post?
>* Creating and releasing the winning costume will require significant development time and is not guaranteed.
>* The judging process will likely require a great deal of time and consideration. The winners may not be announced for several weeks after the submission deadline ends.
>* Once the judging process has concluded, Bluehole Studio will begin development on the winning costume. This may take several months, and the complete product is not guaranteed to release.

Gm's told many times in forums if you get busted using it you get full time ban. With no more questions asked. So go for it if you want to risk to lose access to any tera you are playing. I do know at least one person in Na who got busted and got IP ban, he was idiot and told everyone he was using it too .
Not really into MMO's too much but those are ones that are F2P and generally have had good reviews. If you want to spend the money definitely go for Guild Wars 2, awesome game and its buy to play, so you dont have to worry about annoying monthly fees.
i think you need to read the requirements for bulging bag again.
you need to completely fill your inventory with items, not expand it to the maximum amount. :p
for enter the echelon you need to get echelon 4 in any alliance. you need at least 2000 contribution points and not be in the top 120 to do this. if you do your vault daily and gathering/abam dailies that should be enough, but its still gonna be impossible if you're on a less populated server where there isn't 120 people that give enough of a shit about alliance. (which is sadly my case :'c)
just in case you don't know what an alliance is: you need to be in a guild that's chosen an alliance. if you don't have time to find one, you can join a system guild (Iron Order x, Enlightened Union x, Free Traders Collective x). you'll get a skill book in the mail to teleport to the alliance area, from there you can do the purple quests. vault for Iron Order is in Kaitor, vault for Enlightened Union is in Allemantheia, vault for Free Traders Collective is in Velika. again, purple quests. be sure to go to the alliance area to do your dailies when pvp is off. you can check by opening up the welcome message or checking the calender here.
edit* i type too faaast >///<
To explain the picture this game costs 20.00 at my walmart and is currently FTP(free to play) and download. I have brought this to ASM's and the store manager they say the same thing. "we're going to try to sell it" what a joke!
I don't think there has ever been a level limit. I'm not positive what you're referring to. Are you thinking of another game?
For reference, here is TERA's F2P chart. The header isn't loading for me currently, so if it's not for you, the order is essentially Subscriber - General F2P - Former subscriber / boxed-copy owner.
As far as I know this information hasn't changed, but I haven't checked in with TERA in a while, so it's possible they've done some adjustments.
