1. Download the program Spotflux. This is a VPN client that masks your IP. For the lazy, download link here

2. Install Spotflux

3. Open Spotflux. On the top left corner, click the little tool icon (Settings)

4. Click on the Filters tab, and click "VPN-only mode"

5. Click the OK button

6. Click the Enable button on Spotflux until it says that your connection has been "Enabled"

7. Open your TERA Launcher

If you're still getting error 8001:0001, try rebooting your computer, and make sure you're not running any other VPN program.

Update: This program may cause TERA to lag. It may also prevent you from using voice chat programs (e.g., Skype). In my case, I was having problems with Mumble; I restarted Mumble and it started working. Have not personally tested other voice programs.

With reviewers like this, and the massive vote bombing that goes on against hated companies (EA) I'd have to say metacritic is a joke for ratings anyway.

Hydraths. I hate these things with a passion. They cluster up like crazy and move around constantly. Their AOE attacks have massive range and short wind-up and they have a super long range trample to boot.

The only class in the game that has an actual rotation is Sorcerer; every other class follows a priority system.

My priorities (assuming Traverse Cut is at 13 stacks; if it's not, make it 13 with Combative Strike or Poison Blade):

• 10 Edge Scythe chains (CS > TC (cancel) > BD > Scythe = 3 edge, so use it at 7 edge for example to get most Edge efficiency)
• Blade Draw Chains (Charging Slash > Vortex Slash > Traverse Cut > Rising Fury)
• Rain of Blows Chains (Combative Strike > Cascade of Stuns > Pounce)
• Torrent of Blows (if Tanking)
• Poison Blade (Noctenium) - can probably rank this higher than RoB, according to that min-max guide. Personally don't use Noct unless going for high scores, so my playstyle generally doesn't rank PB that highly.
• Combative Strike
• Poison Blade
• Rising Fury

During Deadly Gamble:

• Charging Slash > Blade Draw
• If BD resets, CS > TC > BD
• If not, CS > RoB
• If chain will go to 10 edge, use Scythe at the end. If you end up at 9 edge, PB > Scythe.

• Use the tutorial, Stepstone Isle, to find a class you like if you don't have your mind set.
• You can choose from a Damage Dealer, often called a "DPS" as a nickname. Which just shells out damage in a hack & slash style.
• A Tank, which is a class that will focus on distracting enemies so the 'DPS' can wail on them without everyone getting attacked at random.
• A Healer class will heal and provide bonuses to members of your party so they can keep doing damage.
• You will get an Avatar Weapon at around level 14 and keep getting them until 64. Always keep your weapon enchanted to +9. Your other gear doesn’t matter until 65.
• Sell your old gear to the Merchant to increase your money to buy your skills.
• Always learn and upgrade every Skill when your character levels up, its roughly every 2 levels and should prompt you with text on screen that you have new skills.
• Pay attention to Vanguard Requests if you want a few extra items and Exp. around level 14 - 65, they are like repeatable optional quests, but as mentioned they are optional and can be ignored.
• Don’t queue for a Dungeon Entry and then go and make a coffee, there are 4 other people waiting for you.
• If you’re not having fun with your class, reroll, you will do better with a class you enjoy.
• Don’t be a dick, other players will benefit from a good environment all round.

TLDR:

1. Brawlers came out. They're really good. If you plan on starting from scratch again I would highly recommend leveling a Brawler for a fast and easy leveling experience if tanking is cool to you. Tanks will always be in demand.

2. Starfall is the new high tier PvE gear. It's crafted from mats you get mainly from Forsaken Island, Dreadspire (lower), and Kalivans Dreadnaught (all of which are relatively new content).

3. Ghilleglade has far less value (doesn't drop gold anymore), but still somewhat profitable to run if you have good rng in drops. TAR is gone and the VG points you get from dailies have been raised while the amount of VG dailies have been reduced.

4. Island of Dawn has a new zone for 65 players that has a new quest line and soloable BAMs. These BAMs are part of your VG dailies and should be ran everyday.

5. PvE Tier list is roughly Brawler > Gunner/Reaper > Slayer > Warrior/Archer > Zerk/Sorc. BHS still continues to make the newest class the best one. There's a new Elin only Ninja class that will be out by the end of summer that will continue this pattern. New content and gear will be coming with the Ninja patch.

6. The patch that Brawler came out in is known as the Knockout patch. The inititial patch notes for that patch can be found HERE. There have been a lot of patch changes since then that you can Google yourself and look up, but what i linked at least gives you a starting point for how things have changed post-Gunner.

I'm sure there are more little things to note that others will mention, but those are the main things off the top of my head.

I currently live in Japan and am playing Tera via a VPN, and it's working just fine. StrongVPN is what I use and so far it hasn't let me down. EDIT: To be clear I've been playing on the NA Tera servers.

You can do 10 "dailies" per day. Each quest is affiliated with a certain faction. Each faction offers certain items.

You do dailies to earn both reputation points, and "credits". You spend credits to buy certain things.

The best way to pinpoint what you want is by going to the area's that have rep, checking the rep merchants (ringed icon on the map) and noting what you want.

Weighted across 3 minutes, the actives give 3.33 power for Empowered Brooch and 4.67 crit for Quickcarve Brooch. A Quickcarve Brooch therefore offers you 20.67 crit, and some 12% attack speed for 15 seconds every 3 minutes. The Empowered Brooch gives you 11.33 power overall. 19.5% aggro is definitely worth way more than any of the above. Furthermore, the active is not completely worthless. As a warrior, coupled with the Grounding Brooch active and damage reduction from skills, you can actually tank hits without blocking and while generating aggro, which synergises with Deadly Gamble.

Empowered and Quickcarve are very useful for burst DPS. But 50 crit or 40 power has little to no effect as a burst in aggro. The attack speed, maybe, but you're gated by blocking.

I built this but not many people really said anything, so I probably won't update it for future gear. But you can use the drop downs to see the effect of each stat on aggro for yourself.

You can outright buy a normal version of the weapon skin in a smartbox - guaranteed weapon skin, and whichever character you open the smartbox on, you get that class's normal weapon skin.

Or you can buy the loot boxes, which have a chance of giving you the Premium version smartbox, meaning that you have a box for the premium weapon skin (it has black smoke effect) - and whichever character you open the smartbox on, you get that class's premium weapon skin.

Also there is a video in that news page that shows you the preview of the weapon skins - both the normal and premium versions - for all classes.

Not that this isn't enough, but:

+9/+12/+15 - these are gear enchantment levels. Usually phrased as gear requirements:

• Normal gear: max enchant +9
• Master worked gear: max enchant +12
• Awaken gear: max enchant +15

DISCO- tier 6 gear, discovery, example: "LFM SCNM N>DPS +12 DISCO" - translation: "looking for members for sky cruiser endeavor normal mode, need damage classes, be wearing discover tier 6 gear, master worked, with +12 enchanting on all/most pieces."

Also battle grounds:

CS: Corsairs' Stronghold - 20v20 castle siege.

• NS: north ship - these can carry up to 5 people over the first wall, usually used at the start of a match to try and gain a small advantage - warning these can be shot down by the enemy team.

• Just a note: Your team mates can be very aggressive in his battle ground. They will yell. Don't pick up "candies"(shiny things that pop out from chests when you kill them - they look shiny, like relic pieces) - unless you know what your doing, or they force you to.

FWC: Fraywind Canyon - 15v15 - you capture objective points and defend. Usually this is for people in full pvp gear.

I'm glad you gave it a chance despite the korean MMO stigma. Not many "western" MMO players are willing to do that.

Not sure if you are reading this but some points I'd like to add:

1. There is a NPC (in most towns) that lets you refill all your stamina for a fee (it scales with levels) and isn't that costly. So you won't have to wait minutes at a campfire. Dying should be a penalty so I think getting your stamina back is punishment enough.

2. NA has the larger player base. If you are worried about population just join NA PvP servers even some PvE servers are very populated. As you can check here. [url]http://tera.enmasse.com/server-status[/url]

Did you read my other comment? A gunner theme similar to what has been published on EME's page would basically be blue and white and gold, which is the same color scheme that this sub has used for years. Just trying to switch it up.

I did just make a darker purple for Dark Mode's visited links, which provides more variety. Hopefully that will help cut against the electric purple a little bit.

Was your character created during a closed beta or after open beta started? From the Tera En Masse site:

If so, your character was intended to be kept from open beta onward. This is pretty normal for MMO launches that include an open beta event (it doesn't always happen, but often does).

Here's the line you are looking for in the Terms of Service: > En Masse does not recognize the transfer of Accounts or any items incorporated into or part of TERA, including without limitation any characters, game items, EMPs or any other content or information therein (“Contents”). You may not purchase, sell, gift, trade, or offer to purchase, sell, gift or trade, any Account or any Contents incorporated into or part of TERA, and any such attempt shall be null and void.

That being said, as long as you keep the transaction completely off of the game and the forums/subreddit (aka keep the details to e-mail or private messages), I can't imagine it would be a problem. As far as EME would be able to tell, they would only be able to trace an in-game gold transfer and then someone added a Founder code to their account. I doubt they are looking at trade transactions every time someone applies a Founder code to their account.

However, if anything would go wrong with it and you get scammed, you might not have good luck if you try to report it.

But technically, only EME can really answer this question to be 100% sure, and there shouldn't be any reason why you wouldn't be able to put in a support ticket to them.

Is it against the rules? Maybe. Take a good look through the Terms of Service and End User License agreement. But as long as you keep it private, I'd say there is a slim chance of running into an account ban.

Assuming you were playing on the NA version:

1. All PVE servers have been merged into one, so have PVP ones. Only Celestial Hills remain solo. BG and instance matching now take Mount Tyrannas (PVP), Tempest Reach (PVE), and CH into account.
2. Nexus Traverse has been implemented, along with Argon Corpus, Shaya Madara (or queen something), and more t13 and t14 gears, both drops and crafted alike.
3. BG has been implemented.

As for what's coming up next, expect more nexus times (with reduced rewards), fixed enchanting, and crafting quests as seen here.

Generally the merge has not been THAT well-received so far, but we'll have to wait and see in the future.

Elin/Popori have the quickest stunkick animations. Only really relevant if you're trying to squeeze out every last advantage you can get in PvP. Otherwise anything is fine.

You're fairly spot-on. How much you'll enjoy the game depends largely on how much the combat sucks you in. The quest system is, in all honesty, super-generic and archaic in its design. If you are willing to overlook the "go here to kill x" standard of questing for the combat, this is a game worth checking out. I, personally, don't really mind the questing, and the combat really works for me.

That said, give the game a whirl on trial to see if you like it before you do anything. Make your own judgment.

Also, make sure it's going to be something you can stick to. There's 60 bucks and (unless you buy chronoscrolls on the auction house) and a subscription fee to think about. There's also a very HIGH possibility that Tera will go Free-To-Play in the future, possibly the near future, even. If you absolutely, positively MUST play this game on a regular basis, go ahead and buy it, but it might be worth it to weather the wait and jump in at a later date.

Also, to the people of this subreddit: Do NOT downvote people who have a negative opinion of the game. Tera, like many other games, isn't for everyone, so unless they're frothing with baseless vitriol for the game, please respect their opinions so the OP can get a more balanced picture of what he's going to get into.

I can't find anything about farming gold in either of these. What most likely happened is you spent so much time farming that you look like a bot on their logs.

They gave us updates as to why this was happening, and an explanation.

They actually delayed updating something in order to get the servers back.

During CBT I never saw outlaw status go away when I had infamy. As far as I am aware it only goes away when your infamy as returned to 0. Infamy only decreases 1 every 5 minutes regardless of if you are logged in or not.

Killing small mobs (normally found in groups) that are your level will not decrease infamy. only normal and BAMS will of your level or higher will decrease your infamy.

TL;DR: KTERA audience is more challenge-driven, while NA audience is more success-driven, which breeds different styles of gameplay and resultant preferences in the class population. You have to understand the big cultural difference between the player population/culture, imho. In Korea, the perception is that Priests are crutches/training wheels for subpar players. Take that with whatever flavor of salt you prefer. :)

Shows PS4 is down. I started having issues connecting yesterday after really no problem since I came back a week and a half ago or so.

For Banks: Will my banks be merged? All of your bank contents from different servers will be moved to a temporary bank on the new server. (Your account banks from different servers will only transfer if you have at least one character on the server where the bank items are stored.)

You will see a button at the bottom of your standard bank menu to access the temporary bank. The temporary bank has multiple tabs and tab pages to accommodate even a large number of bank items.

You can only withdraw items from the temporary bank; you cannot deposit items into the temporary bank. The temporary bank has no time limit, so you do not need to rush to make room in your standard bank.

This is incorrect. The info thread on the official forums says everyone will get 5 free character slots on the new server so you’ll only need to delete some if you have more than 7.

Edit: they are giving away five free slots the week before the merge, you have to add them manually to any server and you’ll have the total slots of the server with the highest slot total.

1. Obviously elin because of their looks. No need to even explain the other races. But each race have specific passives unique to themselves. All the passives of each race are listed Here. Castanic is the best due to statwise, but to be honest, the difference is minimum and not even noticeable, so just play whatever race you like.

3. If you have elite, pop you your gold boost and due ghilli. To max out on your Vanguard credit (only if you have time), Do 3 Dungeons first, and then finish up with doing "That ain't Right" Vanguard quest. You can open up to the Vanguard with the button "H". If you are limited on time, just do all 16 sets of "That ain't Right". The reason why you want to save 3 of your 16 VG (Vanguard) badges is because the quest ones are only limited to 3 a day (meaning the 4th and etc... dungeon you do will only give u a very small chunk of gold and not count as VG) and give you a bunch of stuff (Off the top of my head, 240g, 80 t8 feedstock, 8 tier 8 spellbind and like 50 or so VG credits. This is just from farming one character, and if you repeat this on multiple, it's a very quick and effective way to make money.

4. Find people who are willing to pass for you or just pass runs in the LFG. There are lots of friendly people out there willing to help people out.

Kill the Executors of each alliance.

The Executors are essentially each alliance's "boss" that are only able to be defeated during alliance conflict, which happens every Sunday around 7-8 PM EST.

In order to have a chance to kill another alliance's executor you must be Echelon 3+ which entails being at least top 120 in the alliance ranking system during the week prior to when you want to attend conflict. Alliance score/rank resets every Tuesday after maintenance which is when new ranks are decided. So if you want to do conflict you must be top 120 or higher rank (not score) before servers go down when maintenance happens on tuesday.

Alliance conflict is a huge PvP zergfest (usually at least 20v20v20, most of the time more depending on how many show up) where the goal is to kill as many savaliths and eventually the executor in the enemy territories while defending the savaliths/executor in your territory.

I believe savaliths are worth 25k? points EACH and executor is worth 50k (I don't remember, haven't did conflict since vm2 days). The alliance who receives the most points wins so long as their executor is not killed. What alliance is strongest at the time usually determines what executor(s) may be able to be killed that week.

Seeing as you must kill all 3 executors to get the achievement you must be in at least two different alliances to get the achievement.

Also conflict can be won without killing the executors so even if you're winning you may not have a chance to kill the enemy's executor. Typically if an alliance has no chance of winning they will allow their executor to be killed just so they can get their gold from conflict and go about other tasks.

If you have any other questions about alliance feel free to ask. Sorry if this is a little long for an ELI5 but I feel it's necessary to properly explain what the executors are and when you can go kill them.

Maintenance is on Tuesday 7am PDT - standard downtime is 2hrs but if it's just a quick routine maintenance it can be as short as an hour, if it's in preparation for a big patch it could take a few hours.

The EX-TRM (what you've called a "robotic beetle") should still be available to you in your item claim. You'll only get one of them, so you can try farming BAMs for letters for the Jadeheart dragon. There are a lot of Jadeheart mounts on the market right now, so you'll probably be able to pick one up cheaply while competition is high.

Gm's told many times in forums if you get busted using it you get full time ban. With no more questions asked. So go for it if you want to risk to lose access to any tera you are playing. I do know at least one person in Na who got busted and got IP ban, he was idiot and told everyone he was using it too .

i think you need to read the requirements for bulging bag again.

you need to completely fill your inventory with items, not expand it to the maximum amount. :p

for enter the echelon you need to get echelon 4 in any alliance. you need at least 2000 contribution points and not be in the top 120 to do this. if you do your vault daily and gathering/abam dailies that should be enough, but its still gonna be impossible if you're on a less populated server where there isn't 120 people that give enough of a shit about alliance. (which is sadly my case :'c)

just in case you don't know what an alliance is: you need to be in a guild that's chosen an alliance. if you don't have time to find one, you can join a system guild (Iron Order x, Enlightened Union x, Free Traders Collective x). you'll get a skill book in the mail to teleport to the alliance area, from there you can do the purple quests. vault for Iron Order is in Kaitor, vault for Enlightened Union is in Allemantheia, vault for Free Traders Collective is in Velika. again, purple quests. be sure to go to the alliance area to do your dailies when pvp is off. you can check by opening up the welcome message or checking the calender here.

Get your first win dailies done for CS, Kumas, and FWC everyday and you'll hit the cap each week for BC & KSC.

Everything that says "Equalized" besides CS, is equalized.

Alliance Vault is in each alliance's Hall. Alliance Vault is basically a mini-dungeon where you kill a single BAM and get rewards like PvP Jewellery. If you're not in a guild already, find one to join. http://tera.enmasse.com/alliance-guide

You can use PvP gear for PvE and vice-versa, but you will lose out on essential rolls for each.

You don't have to be a master to craft the gear, but if you want to hunt your own materials and craft them you will need to be a master in one of them, otherwise you'll have to buy them.

and for power crystals. Do you mean zyrks? If so, yes. Power zyrks are good. Some people do carving zyrks if their crit is really low. But i prefer power since my crit rate is pretty high on my slayer.

And for the weapon question. Pretty much yea, it's important (that's why they always toss out free Avatar weapons when you're low leveled). But when you hit 65. Each equipment is pretty important. Prevents you from getting 1shot from certain dungeon Boss attacks.

• What OP is experiencing seems to be a rare bug, and since he/she has submitted a Support Ticket already, our team will respond as quickly as they can and help sort it out.

• Founders and collector's edition purchasers have 8 character slots.

• If a player was active during our reaper class launch promotion, an extra character slot (for one server) was provided. -> founders/collector's edition players increased their character slots to 9 on a server of their choice, standard (free) players to 3. (More information on this can be found here.)

• With the reaper class launch, the maximum amount of character slots per server was increased to 12. (Individual character slots may be purchased at in-game broker or from En Masse store.)

• There has not been an inactive character name removal. If the character names were affected by name conflict after a server merge, the characters received/receive a free opportunity to choose a different name.

As of the July 8 patch, MES was removed from almost all dungeons.

You also get MES from some of the boxes like Carapace Boxes from RE I believe.

They seem to be pretty easy to come by, to be honest.

In regards to PvP changes, I'm guessing you left before the game went F2P. So yes there have been a lot of PvP oriented changes. The biggest ones came in Feb 2013 when we got Champion's Skyring (3's Arena). They made a number of balancing changes to make things more fair and skill-based essentially. If you want to avoid being ganked while leveling you can just quest in any channel other than channel 1. There's an agreement that PvP only happens in Channel 1 on PvP servers so you should be fine anywhere else (unless you're fighting over farming spots, then it's fair game).

Spaghetti.Cat mentioned the Reaper. They're a pain in the ass to play against but great to have on your own team. However if you haven't had a level 60 yet I'd suggest playing a different class and doing the full 1-60 journey so you can really learn the game.

Not sure if I forgot anything else the other posters haven't mentioned. Oh, the Kumasylum and Corsair's Stronghold BGs are equalized gear and start at level 30. Your skills and stats get bumped up to level 60 for those. You won't be on the same level as an actual level 60 who has level 60 crystals and more skills, but it's not bad. You can start queueing for those if you want a taste of PvP. However I would highly suggest avoiding Kumasylum like the plague. Only do it at level 60 when you get a quest to do it to earn your PvP gear recipe. CS can be fun, however. At level 60 you'll want to get PvP gear for Fraywind Canyon BG, Team 3's Arena (solo q 3's is a level 60 EQ gear Arena) and Alliance PvP (Faction based OwPvP zone town siege style).

You're justifying yourself to the wrong person. It's still RMT, you did it more than a few times since March, and probably more before that. It's a well known fact that any digital content for real world sale is against game terms usually.

Lancer isn't popular class.

Warrior is very popular class but rarely tanks, amount of Warrior Tanks is less than Lancers by huge amount.

If you would play DPS class, you'd notice abysmal queue times for dungeons, at least low level ones. Like 1-4 hours. That's thanks to low population of tanks.

• Least played class is Mystic.

Not really that bad class but Priest is way more useful at everything. And with next major patch Mystic will lose all remaining PVE benefits.

In NA Tera people oftenly bring both healers in 10m raids.

In KTera they oftenly don't even bother to bring mystics.

BGs not yet I believe, but the new PVE endgame content has been out for about 6 months to one month in several different updates for the Korean version. Our version is a bit odd, as it has some features from recent updates, but is still missing content from updates half a year ago.

At least one dungeon (Training grounds) and Nexus, the "real" endgame content should be implemented soon. The PVP content will be for summer. Here's the official article about the Nexus "launch" feature:
