AT&T also finally updated their Visual Voicemail App to spport the Nexus 6 as well. Too bad it looks like absolute shit.
You can just download the AT&T Visual Voicemail app free from the Play Store. If it doesn't work for whatever reason, call AT&T to make sure VVM is enabled for your line.
I know that wasn't the point of your post, but it pains me to see you struggle like that.

So, if you have att based boost service then att visual voicemail app works. I have android and I don't remember the exact process, but I think it was fairly easy. Not sure if you have the right app. I have this one:

Two wrongs here.
Transcription is available in AT&T's custom VM app. (At least according to the description).
It seems you did not read my original post or see the screenshot? Several non-pixel Android phones (including mine) come with the Google Phone app factory-installed, and support voicemail transcription out of the box.
Sorry if this sounds harsh, but you your statement looks like speculation presented as fact. That's why I asked if you have it on authority that this feature works only on Pixel on AT&T? (It would be very strange since it works on mine on an AT&T MNVO, as the screenshot shows).
On postpaid here and Visual Voicemail in the Phone app does not work on an unlocked Pixel 4 XL. The VVM section of the Phone app also hides itself when using AT&T on this phone.
You have to use the AT&T VVM app for it.
That's great! I had always wondered what Fi was like. And yeah sadly. The app isn't bad though. It's not good at transcribing. Here is a link to the app.

The AT&T Visual Voicemail app works for Consumer Cellular AT&T (but not Consumer Cellular T-Mobile).

You'll need to first contact CC customer service and ask them to enable visual voicemail (and also ask them to enable VoLTE, Wi-Fi Calling, and tethering/hotspot, if you haven't already).
Download AT&T's Visual Voicemail app for Android. It's unfortunately about as good as you're going to get, as Google and AT&T haven't worked out the native integration.

At&t user here. Had to download at&t's visual vm app which is missing features and has notification issues (maybe?), but works at the least.

I have ATT as my carrier. my essential doesn't seem to have a visual voicemail option in the dialer settings so I use the ATT visual voicemail app. Works ok .. could be better could be worse.

theres a ton of other visual voicemail apps including both other carrier specific ones and third party ones out there if you just search "visual voicemail" in the play store, but this would be a hell of a lot easier if the native voicemail was just enabled :/
I was curious about this too since I haven't had any kind of vvm since I switched from my s8. Turns out there's a separate app in the play store specifically for att vvm. In other words it doesn't work with the stock dialer it's a separate app altogether. I downloaded it, quick set up, and boom got vvm back

Well, the big one is for Visual Voicemail. You can download AT&T's app and get your VV that way. Not integrated into Dialer, but good enough for me.
For WiFi calling, you can use Google Voice for free in the US/Canada. It won't be the same number as your Cellular, but it will work in a pinch.
Nothing you can do about VoLTE.
Pretty sure with the U firmware most people use either AT&T Visual Voicemail or YouMail
Download the ATT Visual Voicemail app here: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.att.mobile.android.vvm
Follow instructions to activate. I'm on an unlocked Duo on ATT and it works.
You unfortunately have to use the AT&T Visual Voicemail app: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.att.mobile.android.vvm

I'm assuming your Blackberry Priv is an AT&T branded Android phone; you then can try AT&T's visual voicemail app https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.att.mobile.android.vvm
Not that I'm aware of. It's a free app in the app store.
