I use an free app called Backgrounds HD (Play Store link). There are daily updates with fresh new high quality backgrounds and it shows which ones are popular at the moment.
Backgrounds HDis very good for nature related wallpapers. You can sort by popular, most downloaded monthly, early and such.
Backdrops is very nice for rare material and abstract wallpapers. They are very high quality but you get limited wallpapers in the free version. There is an in app paid version which gives you full access.
Walloid is one my favorite wallpaper apps. It has all the stock wallpapers of each and every phone. Samsung, LG, Motorola, Blackberry etc. They've got nearly every company and stock wallpapers of manufacturers are actually really good.
Zedge has the biggest collection of wallpapers here. It even has Ringtones, notification tones and live wallpapers. However, the wallpaper quality is sometimes not as good as the other apps and I found 40% of the images are nsfw. So if you're looking for an nsfw wallpaper ZEDGE should be your first priority. Otherwise you should look at ZEDGE only if you have a specific wallpaper in your mind and haven't found it anywhere else.
Walli is a new app I found and it's community driven. It has a very unique collection of wallpapers and as far I've seen, they are very good quality. It's a simple app to use. This and walloid are currently on my phone.

The wallpaper is "Leonidas at Thermopylae" by Jacques-Louis David (downloaded in high resolution from the wikimedia commons) and processed for android multi-screen via the Backgrounds app.

Backgrounds HD is a pretty good one for photo wallpapers. Their cityscapes are great.
