Currently for Chrome Dev:
> go to the homescreen of your choice, access your widgets, locate Chrome Dev, and drag the new search widget to the place you want it on your homescreen.
i thought that's what chrome Dev on android was? so now there is 4 different official chrome for android? Chrome, Beta, Dev, and Canary?
Welcome to Chrome Dev for Android! • Live on the bleeding edge: Try out our latest features. (They'll be rough around the edges!)
To enable the bottom URL Bar in Chrome for Android, do the following:
chrome://flags
Open Chrome Canary or Dev on Android.
Tap on the menu icon, select "find on page" and enter 'home'.
This should jump to the Chrome Home flag right away.
Tap on the pulldown menu and switch the state to enabled.
Restart Google Chrome.
I'll test it out some more, but so far I like it!
Touch to surf is one of my favorite features of Chrome on Android.
Here's chrome dev for those who don't have it:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.chrome.dev&hl=en
True, but they should put like the top 3 or 5 changes on a list then say something like, "To see the full list go to <shortcode>". They kinda do this for Chrome Dev.
Just thought I'd mention: if you want to be on the cutting-edge of features (while sacrificing some stability, naturally), there's also the Chrome Dev app. Been seeing these new controls for a few weeks now on it, and I've had very few problems with the browser.
Edit: Whoops, didn't realize 1iota_ made the same comment earlier. Added to my to-do list: learn to read.
There's Chrome Dev (aka. alpha) on the play store, and it's public, nor behind a testing program
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.chrome.dev&hl=en
But of course, it's Google itself
You can download chrome dev if you want to try this. I think the usability is actually way better now with the navigation on the bottom. The design is a horrible copy of iOS though.
Just to clarify, you are using Chrome from the Dev Channel, correct?
https://www.chromium.org/getting-involved/dev-channel
Or are you referring to the mobile browser Chrome Dev?
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.chrome.dev&hl=en
Chrome Dev is like an alpha version for Chrome, you can get Chrome Dev on the Play Store here https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.chrome.dev
Idk if this works with Chrome Beta since I don't have that installed, but it doesn't seem to be available in regular Chrome yet.
All you have to do is be in splitscreen mode with Chrome open, long press on a link and it'll show the "Open in other window" option. If you already have another window open then it'll make a new tab in that other window. Very handy!
Which mobile browser are you talking about? AFAIK, the latest Chrome Dev channel release uses the official Cardboard API, so the tracking should be just as good and probably as good as it's going to be.
Make sure you have WebVR enabled in chrome://flags though, otherwise the boilerplate will fallback to it's own naive deviceOrientation tracking.
To enable the bottom URL Bar in Chrome for Android, do the following:
Open Dev and enter 'chrome://flags' into the address bar
Tap on the menu icon, select "find on page" and enter 'home'.
This should jump to the Chrome Home flag right away.
Tap on the pulldown menu and switch the state to enabled.
Restart Google Chrome.

Yeah, this seems to be broken on Chrome Stable and Beta. We recently put some fixes in and it seems to be working on Chrome Dev for me. Could you give Chrome Dev a try and see if you can find similar issues where it does not come up?
Coming soon to Stable channel, you can try it now in Dev.
Here is the link to the app: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.chrome.dev
and Chrome Dev
Try it out on Chrome Dev
No plans for Canary right now, but try the new Dev Channel!
I use Chrome Dev, my friend said its faster but fuck do I know https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.chrome.dev
From the Android Play Store: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.chrome.dev
Don't forget to enable WebVR in chrome://flags
(the flag is about 4/5ths down the list but you can use the "Find in page" function to get there quickly).
Then test it with one of these:
So, apparently we are working on it. Check it out ReaderMode on the DevChannel https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.chrome.dev
Wrt to text wrap, we don't plan on doing this.
I went here https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.chrome.dev on my computer. Clicked intstall and picked my mirage. The icon shows up in the daydream menu
I've been running Chrome Dev which has had the address bar in the bottom for a while now, and I can't go back.
Some that weren't mentioned:
Chrome Dev - because it's faster than regular Chrome and the searchbar widget is really fast.
Firefox Focus - blocks many online ads/history already and deletes all cookies on exit. I use this as my default browser.
Nova Launcher Prime - mentioned already. It has lots of customizations, including the background color of the dock.
Ultimate Rotation Controller - I like to go all the way around.
It's newer than beta.

Hi, I'm on the team working on this feature (crbug.com/558575).
It has the following known limitations: 1. it does not mitigate reflows triggered by in-view elements 2. it's currently disabled on back navigation
Note: We recommend to use the latest Chrome (canary[1] or dev[2]) to benefit from the latest improvements.
Finally, you can report a "bad reflow" at g.co/reportbadreflow in case you find an instance that we either made worse (e.g. page repeatedly jumping up/down) or didn't fix (e.g. reflow not/partially mitigated).
Best,

mit z.B. chrome dev gibt es auch benachrichtigungen. vll. auch generell bei chrome, ich nutze aber die dev.
This doesn't seem to happen for me on Chrome Dev.
