Share yes, but idk if she'll be able to edit.
Don't know how much stuff you already added but My Maps may be an alternative. That one lets you search and add places and you can share the map and let someone else edit it as well.
Downsides are 1. that you (afaik) will have to manually re-add all your existing places in your want-to-go list into a new map and 2. that it doesn't have any explore features so you'll have to explore places in Maps and then switch to My Maps and add them there after. (You can of course search a specific restaurant's name in My Maps; it just won't give you any inspiration/tips for new ones and it also won't show them on the map unless you add them)
First, the phones will need the My Maps app installed: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.google.android.apps.m4b&hl=en
Create a new My Map in someone's Google Drive, then share it with everyone involved. Make sure you allow them to edit the map! When they log into the My Maps app, they can go to the hamburger menu and then select "shared with me" to find the map, open it, and drop pins on it.
One downside is that it won't show you who dropped each pin, but if you specifically tell each person to add their name/initials in the description box for each pin, you'll be covered.
google has another app, My Maps, that does this.
They've also built this feature into the plain google maps in the recent updates...press down and hold location...then click on address/pin that appears and click "save"
Yeah, so that's what I do with really bushy jobs.
Try mymaps.google.com, should redirect to what I'm talking about.
You can then create a map, import your kml, then view it on your phone.

Yes
On a mobile device you want the Google app called "My Maps"
eg https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.google.android.apps.m4b
On a desktop, you want to start with Google maps, hit the menu, then YourPlaces (in third section), then the tab called Maps. At the bottom of the frame you should see "Create Map"
Google My Maps is definitely the easiest way
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.google.android.apps.m4b
You can also view in browser After you've made a map you can share it with everyone or just people you send a link to
Once made open Google maps and you'll find your maps in "Places" then scroll all the way to the right
Zoom in as closes as you can, then choose "Share Link" from the menu in the upper-right corner. It's not a great option, but that seems to be all there is. Off your phone, you could compile those links into a KMZ file, then import that file in Android Earth.
Edit: If you haven't seen it yet, My Maps might be a better tool for you.
In that case, here you go
I'm not exactly sure what you mean by exporting the data to google maps, but you probably want the My Maps app by Google, which has a corresponding web interface.
on android phones you need to edit maps in google chrome or install a separate app https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.google.android.apps.m4b
perhaps try to share exact location instead of editing map like this 379 St. Kilda Rd https://www.google.com/maps/@-37.8349224,144.9753232,20z
Did Bangalore to Goa 15hr - 16hr trip last year. My tip is to not follow Google maps blindly. We missed a turn and it suggested an alternate route through some village where there was no road 😭 which costed us like two extra hours.
Use https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.google.android.apps.m4b to plan and save your route and follow it closely.
Okay so I threw together a map of the Pokestops and gyms that I had hit earlier in the day. Currently it only covers most of the north campus, but it isn't comprehensive.
Anyone can contribute to the map the way I have it set up. To add a Gym simply turn off the 'Pokestop' layer. To add a Pokestop turn off the 'Gym' layer. I have a backup, so if things get out of hand we can always revert back.
Edit: Okay so after some people had trouble accessing and viewing the map I found that there is an app distributed by Google called 'My Maps' The app is specially for adding points to shareable maps and the like and should make it easy to edit on the go.
Awesome! I thought about doing this myself. I will definitely contribute!
Maybe add the android app to your post?

Additional tip, you can create custom google maps. So whenever I am visiting a new city I create a custom map with anything I want to recall later. AND the best part...Google recently created an app where you easily view said maps; used to be through the browser which really whomped.
It's called My Maps: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.google.android.apps.m4b&hl=en
Google My Maps A very good app where I put all my point of interests and have access to other maps people make. I organize my pins into a daily itinerary and import them to Google Maps for easy navigation.
Ditto on Trip Advisor, Google Maps, Google Now and Google Trips being very useful when travelling abroad. The Project Fi app is handy for watching data use and the rate is sometimes better than getting a tourist SIM. I enjoy the welcome notification to the destination country when I land.
For travelling in Japan I find the Hyperdia app to be a huge battery drain as it doesn't turn off GPS(have to force close every time after use) on both my Nexus 5x and 6p so use the website on Chrome for JR only travel.
Use http://mymaps.google.com instead of the "regular" mapping interface. There is a corresponding application in the Play Store that will let you access your maps (complete with layers) on your mobile device.
The down-side is that you lose turn-by-turn directions, so you'll need to have your phone somewhere you can reference when you're not moving.
One way to do this may be with Google's My Maps. Which is their map creation tool. You can add points and label them how you like. It used to be a part of the main maps provision but now it's more hidden.
You can then find the map you've made in 'Your places' in the Android app, or there's even the My Maps App.
It seemed to be easier and better when they were more closely linked. You can't use streetview while you're making a map in My Maps
Full integration with their own My Maps would be great. Not only would it add custom notes, but you could change the icons and create groups of places to organize trips (long or short). Too bad MyMaps is a separate app that doesn't play well with its big brother.
You actually can if you use the My Maps app.
You can draw lines in https://www.google.com/mymaps or https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.google.android.apps.m4b
My maps by google, is perfect for this.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.google.android.apps.m4b
no I just use this https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.google.android.apps.m4b
can also be accessed from drive on a pc.
If you're android download the My Maps app.
Android only but there is a mobile site I haven't tried.
My Maps from Google is nice.
Created Entirely on my phone! (An LG V20 VS995 running Android 8.0.0)
Android Apps Used
NOTE: My Maps only allows you to create 10 layers!
My Maps by Google.
Android version: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.google.android.apps.m4b&hl=en
Ah, ok maybe try My Maps instead, https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.google.android.apps.m4b&hl=en
It has way better features than the Google Maps one.
"Google My Maps" lets you create custom maps that you can display in the Google Maps app ..
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.google.android.apps.m4b
.. with the web based equivalent here ..
An example of a custom map that I made for Barcelona as displayed in the Google Maps app ..

It's not an ideal solution because of the extra effort involved, but it does work and I use it often to keep track of POIs when I'm on holiday. As a bonus, you can share the custom map with family members / friends.
you should be using the Google my maps app: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.google.android.apps.m4b&hl=de S2 Cells show correctly for me with my maps
Google My Maps it's probably the closest thing I can think of
Google My Maps might work for what you are doing
https://www.google.com/maps/d/
There is also an app for it as well
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.google.android.apps.m4b
Google My Maps might get you what you're looking for. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.google.android.apps.m4b
Thank you for your work! I believe the best ways to get a copy of the map are to go to Google My Maps. There is also a mobile app for Google My Maps on Android (if you are iOS like me, then you just have to use the browser version)
The best way to download a copy of the map would be to click 'Export to KML' as pictured here
Aside from those methods I'm afraid there is -- surprisingly -- not a method to add a map to a drive
