For phones with on screen navigation bar:
Muviz Nav Bar Audio Visualizer: Music Visualizer on the Nav Bar.
NavBar: Customise the look and feel of Nav Bar.
I don't know any music app with a visualizer on the soft keys. However, there is an app called Muvizthat will add a visualizer to your soft keys while listening to music from your favorite music player.
I believe Verizon's variant is still locked unfortunately. However this app Muvis seems to be a decent attempt for non rooted people like myself. It's not perfect but close enough.
OP stated it was accomplish through the "Pulse" feature on Dirty Unicorns rom. Here is an app that does not require root access and does the same. Although I have found performance to be lacking.
No, I'm not personally aware of anything like that. Maybe Zooper has something. But I can recommend something like Muviz It's not a widget but it's a pretty cool equalizer.
I searched for it yesterday after seeing this screenshot and found this. Doesn't seem to require root and/or any custom ROM.
/u/RitoFreak, here is an app that can accomplish this. Although, performance has lacked compared to Pulse on DU. (Favorite rom for the Moto X Pure (Style) so far /u/pasomnica)
Nice! I like that battery bar! I used to have it a few roms back. I might root my Moto X pure again, but I'm waiting for nougat firmware to drop.

I had this on my last dirty unicorn rom, but it's an app now.
Inspired by the sand dunes in this beautiful wallpaper by Benjamin Everett, I've created a rounded and simple layered theme with muted colors. It handles almost all of my daily tasks and is a step away from my typical designs. Everything made in KLWP.
Also using Muviz audio visualizer
Bonus pic (when music is not playing and no sms in inbox): Here
I really hope you guys enjoy the theme, download will be added tomorrow with KLWP file (:

Marathoned Westworld a while ago and was so blown away by how good it was that I just had to make my phone look like it was using a similar high-tech UI to the futuristic tablets and phones shown in Westworld.
Chanced upon the KLWP app while trying to figure out how I would even go about doing this. Oh boy, nobody told me just how steep the learning curve would be. This was even before I realized I needed the Tasker app to do some of the things I was trying to do, so it only got worse from there on. Glad to finally be done (almost).
Info: Important information like date, time, and battery level, since the status bar is hidden.
Data: Grabs bus arrival timings from my local transit authority for bus stops that I frequent, along with the status of the train system.
Code: Haven't thought of what to put here yet, so as a placeholder, randomly used some Bohemian Rhapsody lyrics converted into JavaScript code that some genius made (I don't even know if the code actually works).
Hosts: Twitter feed of Elon Musk. Because if anyone's a Westworld Host, it probably has got to be him.
Software: Somehow became my news headlines feed, along with live-updating football scores above it.
Mods: Local weather forecast and also, my favorite screen for some reason.
About that music visualizer: ...yeah, it's not a real music visualizer. It looks like this is a highly-requested feature, but I have no idea how u/frankmonza is going to go about implementing fast Fourier transform or whatever is required to get that feature into KLWP, which is pretty darn awesome as it is already. Inspired by the Muviz app, but as you can tell, I really needed the visualizer to be elsewhere than the navigation bar.
Instead, just as a proof of concept, I ran an audio visualizer on my computer over the 4th to 5th minute of Bohemian Rhapsody, recorded the height values of the twenty frequency bars at some millisecond intervals, and then very agonizingly did this with the complex animation. As a result, it's only accurate for one minute of one song in particular, and there's also a weird bug where the pseudo-visualizer flashes upwards every 10 seconds, but it happens to look cool to me, so I'm just going to file that under a feature instead of a bug (heh).
.klwp file here if you're interested and have a 720x1280 phone, although I'm not sure why anyone would use it since it's highly personalized to my oddly specific interests. Also, it's going to be a mess, being my first KLWP.
A little warning: The animations may be buggy and laggy as heck. I don't blame my phone for trying its best, I mean, I'm already at 82 out of the 92 item limit at root level.
Would love to share the Tasker settings as well, since this is extremely dependent on Tasker, especially for things like the weird workaround I used to allow for navigation between screens both by tapping on the tabs and also by swiping between screens. Unfortunately I have API keys in Tasker that I can't share though, so please ask if you have any questions instead; will be happy to reply. Just give me some time; it's my bedtime so I'll be inactive for the next 7 hours.
Being so new to this, I still have 2 issues I've been stuck for ages at, would someone be kind enough to help? Really appreciate this helpful community.
I've been trying to implement a letter-by-letter typing animation for the Code screen, but I'm not sure how to achieve this.
Closest I got was for Tasker to send some autoincrementing variable to KLWP every 25 milliseconds or so and have the code block be something like $tc(cut,gv(codetext),br(tasker, autoincr))$
, but it doesn't work smoothly and is extremely choppy.
Forgive my bad Googling skills if this has been answered before, but how would I do this?
I'm using the music pseudo-visualizer to show song progress, so I'd like to be able to, say, tap on the 16th visualizer bar out of the 20 of them and have the song playing position jump to 75% in the music app.
Can't figure out how to use the Music Back and Music Skip actions in Tasker though, does anyone know which music app will work with these actions?
I'm also not a designer so I would really appreciate suggestions on ways to improve the design, to make it look and behave more sci-fi-ish and futuristical (autocorrect tells me that those are not real words).
