What make this app stand out from other apps like Pie Control and Omni swipe:
If you have just any issue, feedback or a simple thought about the application , feel free to comment below or just email me at .
Thanks!
Swiftly Switch is the number one app I'd recommend. Makes everything so much faster and can set up however you need it.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.de_studio.recentappswitcher.trial
You get used to it in about an hour, after which point everything else will feel like a tiny toy in your hands.
For better one handed mode, I recommend Swiftly
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.de_studio.recentappswitcher.trial
Makes switching apps frequently so convenient.
One of the few apps I bought the pro version of simply to support the dev as it added nothing I needed over the free version.
Swiftly Switch for pie controls with recent apps. Total Launcher because of it's philosophy is basically that visual elements and actions are totally distinct, if you don't want app icons then you just make some text and tell the text to launch an app.
Try Swiftly Switch. Quite comfortable using my 5.5 inches with big bezel phone :). It does anything from pulling down notification, navigation, apps, shortcuts,... Most important, it's very easy and natural to use.
Cause it's much faster :D
I don't really like the default recent, it take too much time just to switch between app.
And I can also hide all navigation bar so I can enjoy all my big and beautiful screen
Try Swiftly switch
Well, as an average every day user, I tried it, and within 30 seconds deleted it.
I found the whole experience overwhelmingly confusing, and this is coming from an open mind perspective and appreciation for customization.
I see what you're trying to achieve, but the way it's done, had me "what the fuck?" ing every few moments.
The massive (MASSIVE) amount of options to customize just feels too much, and unless you're a programmer, half of them I didn't know what it meant. I totally respect that people will want customization to the n'th degree, but shit I was frustrated in under a minute and I LOVE tinkering and adjusting things till they're just right.
I've been using swiftly switch for a while, and it's very very similar, but setup took maybe 1 minute and it was a breeze to figure out.
Might want to have two modes, an average every day user mode, and a nitty gritty adjust every individual pixel mode.
Swiftly Switch and Sesame! Use Swiftly Switch to replace your recent apps menu and also launch Sesame which can act as your app drawer!
My favorite is swiftly switch
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.de_studio.recentappswitcher.trial
You can set up grids with your apps, pin apps, or even use an app search . It's basically a side bar launcher. You'll just need to configure it to your liking.
I'd recommend one of the apps like Swiftly Switch with which you can create trigger zones to bring up apps, buttons, and menu items you choose. I have mine configured for where my right thumb naturally rests while holding my phone. The nice thing about these types of apps (there are many) is that you don't have to waste home screen area with apps and shortcuts to settings; they simply pop up when you trigger the zone you set while configuring the app and go away when you are done.
I had to look up quick ball even though I have a Xiaomi phone, sounds a lot like Swiftly Switch. I haven't used it in a while but back when I used it it was extremely customizable.
>The whole point of larger screen space is for media consumption purposes.
Which is something I hardly do on my phone because if I want to watch a video that much I can just go on my laptop or desktop.
>Well, if the phone is ever too big for you, give pie control a try.
I'll definitely remember to if I do but I'm really hoping they'll be options for smaller phones.
Yes. Swiftly Switch. I cleared the recent apps list, but Swiftly Switch remembered its list of recent apps. It has a blacklist too.
I don't believe you can unless you use samsung's theme store. Luckily, there is an alternative. Samsung's edge swipe is quite similar to Swiftly Switch. If you set the circular option to 0 then you get apps lined up straight, just like edge. This is just the free version. The Pro Version will let you use icon packs. If you were lucky, the developer actually made the pro version free when it first came out.
I'm using Swiftly Switch. I'm sure it's got a billion cool features but I really only use it for going Back and Home since I let the navbar auto-hide. I use the pressure button for getting Home sometimes but it's been hell trying to use its goofy swiping capabilities regardless of the sensitivity settings. I just don't have the finesse required.
App page on Google Play. It basically creates a sidebar, where you can easily change through shortcuts, actions or recent apps. Very good for phones with large screens.
Really cool app. Reminds me of PIE in AOSPA. Here is the free version. If you buy it from inside the free version it's cheaper.
Ok, here's the video. I'm sorry, I thought it might be 30 seconds, but it was more than 3 minutes :p
A small explanation:
If you still have some questions feel free to ask :)
PS: I didn't even show everything, but this is a lot for the moment. And I'm not even finished with the live wallpaper. The to-do list and the someday/maybe-list are both very very long
An app switcher/edge app. They let you switch to to recent and favorites apps and more at any time. I use Swiftly Switch Pro. Theres a free version to try.
Another popular one is called Eas app switcher, but I prefer Swiftly.
You should try: swiftly switch
You can switch between running apps, favorite app, notification, navigation with only ONE SWIPE.
It do not ask for any internet access or ads.
I'm the developer, you can see alot of positive review in the pro version (Ofcourse the free version also good but when I first release there are alot of bug so alot of negative review)
I combine it with Swiftly Switch and Button Mapper to perform tasks very quickly. These days I just use Tasker to automatically log things in Google Sheets and some home automation.
You pretty much just need to play around with Swiftly Switch and it's settings. Basically everything there is a Swiftly Switch feature except for Sesame which is just being launched instantly with a swipe gesture.
You can also use Swiftly Switch to easily launch tasks.
You should try Swiftly Switch + Sesame. 100% of my navigation is using those two apps, my home screen has a single calendar widget and nothing else.
Not sure if this is what you need, but I use the App Swiftly Switch. It is a side launcher with many quick settings, including volume and power key. I use it on all my devices.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.de_studio.recentappswitcher.trial
One Hand Opetation+ is great too, I use that for gestures.
Swiftly Switch, I'm not sure how bottom gestures will function on other devices as I'm on Android 9 and using Tasker to cut off the bottom of my screen to get rid of the navbar (the other option is to just ignore the navbar while gesturing or move the gesture trigger area to the side of the screen).
Swiftly Switch - an app that I use to have the navigation bar from the side of the phone - helps a lot when I'm using my phone one handed, I barely ever use the navigation bar on the bottom.
I use Swiftly Switch and Total Launcher to bring up my app drawer without pressing the home button and I also no longer use my regents menu.
I use this excellent app (which is nothing to do with me!) called Swiftly Switch, which allows me to slide out any apps I need and is entirely customisable. Other than a dock, I have nothing on the homescreen of my S10e. Swiftly Switch
I prefer swiftly switch but both are good
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.de_studio.recentappswitcher.trial
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.de_studio.recentappswitcher.pro
the dev is on reddit too
Sort of, I don't ever use the recents menu (or any of the navigation keys). I use Swiftly Switch which provides your 8 most recent apps as shown.
Can you use Pie controls to launch recently used apps? This is really the only feature that I'm looking for in an app like this. Currently on Swiftly Switch, but looking for a more actively developed alternative.
I use Swiftly Switch instead of zone launcher as it has an option to launch recent apps by swiping in addition to most of Zone Launcher's other features. Although if Zone Launcher includes that, then I'll probably switch over as Zone Launcher is more actively updated.
A free-ish alternative is Swiftly Switch. The free version only let's you swipe from one edge which may or may not be enough (I only use 2 edges). The pro version gives you 3 edges.
Swiftly switch
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.de_studio.recentappswitcher.trial
This is basically a side bar launcher that you can customize. I've minimized my home screen and it's easier to multi task.
Bottom Quick Settings
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.tombayley.bottomquicksettings
A bottom Quick Settings panel. I use it for a volume slider and some frequently used apps. You can also manage notifications from it.
Swiftly Switch does a pretty great job of making nearly all navigation one-handed. It basically replaces the entire recents menu.
Combine it with an overlay launcher to get access to your app drawer and you won't ever have to click the recents button or home screen. Note, I use Total Launcher's app drawer widget instead of JINA.
the design will be different but you can configure https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.de_studio.recentappswitcher.trial to do the same (quick access to whatever) from the bottom of the screen (or any other side).
Oh, sorry for the lack of explanation. Many 3rd party apps enable this; Swiftly Switch is one such app. Although I guess it's also a lot like edge panels that provide apps on the menu when you trigger the activation area.
Something like this?
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.de_studio.recentappswitcher.trial
I am not advocating this particular app, there's a few out there that so similar so have a look around
The whole point of larger screen space is for media consumption purposes. It has no benefit to every day usage outside of the split screen feature.
Well, if the phone is ever too big for you, give pie control a try. Thanks to it, even reaching for the back button (or recent apps for stock users) is too much effort for my liking lol.
Oh yeah? You really remember that phone? My man! Good times. :) And no, it didn't survive. I was helping my Dad carry stuff when it fell off my belt. I learned that day to only buy holsters with those bottom lips that go around the back of your belt. Hard lesson.
Oh—! One quick thing. Lol, I'm excited to tell you. Nova supports the Google home page by swiping right on your home screen like the Google Launcher does. It can't be downloaded from the Play Store cause Google no like that, but you can download it directly from TeslaCoil here. It works flawlessly! Check it out!
P.S. Another utility that I have found to be ultra-dispensable is Swiftly Switch. I hardly touch my NavBar now and once you have it set up, it works a treat.
Have fun!
The trick is to do it in one motion, ie, hit the button and slide right away.
I personally don't use it because it feels like so much effort to do it right and do it consistently. Ended up going with Swiftly Switch instead, and that seems to work for me.
I use Swiftly Switch. The app can be minimal if you choose, but it also lets you pick among many things like app switching menu, custom shortcuts, or media volume. Those are just some of the options I use. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.de_studio.recentappswitcher.trial
It's overkill but the volume shortcut for Swiftly Switch support that.
True and likely only a feature rooted g6s would see later. In the meantime I love this app, it's not button related but helps a lot with quick actions. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.de_studio.recentappswitcher.trial
Here's my setup http://i.imgur.com/UFLeM4U.png
Swiftly Switch and Meteor Swipe are some edge launchers that you might want to try.
Strange the pins used to persist. Well the last time I tried the app was on lollipop using a nexus 5.
Other than Tasker the only other app I can think of is using swiftly switch and pin the apps you want. This require a swipe from the edge of the screen. It's a great app.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.de_studio.recentappswitcher.trial
Yeah that's real hassle. You could alleviate the lack of app switching with an app like Swiftly Switch, I used it for a while and it was pretty nice.
Try swiftly switch it allows you to use customizable edge swipe gestures to switch between apps and can also mimic your hardware buttons.
I honestly hardly ever even use the physical home button anymore, because its easier to just swipe over from the edge of the screen to go home/back etc.
Its probably the most useful app ive ever downloaded. The link is to the free version, theres a paid one too (which is the one i use) but im not really sure what the difference is.
If you cant get your home button back in action, this is probably your best option barring a new home button/phone altogether.
Edit: just realized rhis doesnt really address the issue of your home button randomly pressing itself. That problem might go away on its own after a day or two.
Theres and app switcher/edge app called Swiftly Switch that supports icon packs. But not custom set icons currently.
I use the Home button to anchor swiping with Swiftly Switch.
Home saves wear and tear on my Power button.
Why don't you try my app Swiftly switch , it let you switch between recent apps from screen's edges and a lot more.
You should try my app: swiftly switch: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.de_studio.recentappswitcher.trial Still have to leave current app but you can then switch between these apps instantly as many time as you want.
Hey, I'm developer of Swiftly Switch which make you using your big phone a lot easier by let you switch between running apps, favourite apps, navigational, expand status bar by only ONE SWIPE from the edge of the screen.
You can see how it work on the description video on Google play store.
This app has no floating button, no add, also doesn't ask for internet access, you can get the Pro version which has some advances.
Swiftly switch works on Lollipop+ quite good. Used to use Switchr too, but now I like native task switcher anyways.
Here are some apps I've downloaded and used this week:
I would recommend Swiftly Switch as it actually makes switching apps easier for me rather than going back to the home screen.
Then there's Infinit which lets you transfer files from your phone to your desktop or to anyone else who has the app, and back, easily! But i still have Portal just in case i use a computer that's not mine.
Lastly, I got this during a sale, Cameringo+ Effects Camera. Fun effects on the fly. But i still use Google Camera for quick snaps
Swiftly switch is an awesome gesture-based smartphone navigation tool. Think Pie controls but better. You can see my recent apps and the action buttons outside of those in that pic. It's the same as OG pie controls but has 2 layers, a recent apps layer and a navigation layer outside of that. Once you beat the learning curve (1-2 days) you'll wonder why you never used this before. It makes navigating the phone a breeze. You don't even think about it after a while. It's very intuitive. It is really customizable and even has an app launcher/quick toggle panel. I'm not the dev I just really like this app and want to share it.
For the 2 XL especially, you should grab Swiftly Switch
I'm using Miui's innate pie control, but this one looks so much better than what I have. just remember that too many icons can be difficult to be precise though.
You can also learn hidden folder and swipe shortcuts in Nova prime
Then for calling, there's drupe caller.
Don't use Omni Swipe. That's an app that got too big for its britches and adopted excessive permissions. It's basically bloatware now.
All great & trustworthy apps. Swapps and Everywhere Launcher are basically pop out app drawers, both extremely customizable. Swiftly, equally customizable, picks up where Switchr left off and performs side swiping semi circle app switching very well.
I use Swiftly switch. Updated regularly, pretty awesome.
Swiftly switch is an app that let you switch between your recent apps, favorite apps, expand statusbar, navigation,... by just one swipe from the trigger area you can customize. You can see the demo video here .
The 2.0 version that add more power to favorite section (more shortcut, quick setting,...) is on beta test. If you want to help me please join this community then get the beta app here. Any bug feedback or suggestion will be extremely precious to us. Thanks!
Swiftly Switch, it gives an overlay that eliminates the need to ever use the recents menu. You can also use it to trigger other things as well (like Sesame).
Here's a video of my general setup.
Also Tasker allows you to do a lot of stuff involving overlays which plays nicely with Swiftly Switch.
You should try Swiftly Switch. It is based on pie controls. (You might like it better.)
While the UI looks quite different, and it doesn't support widgets, I use Swiftly Switch for the same effect.
Swiftly Switch, a nakon što sam rootao i stavio Xposed Xposed Edge.
Swiftly Switch maybe? There's also a pro version. Can be used in addition to any launcher.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.de_studio.recentappswitcher.trial
Tempting to try the Edge Gestures app.
I've had my 2XL since the first day people started receiving them and have had immersive mode on pretty much the whole time. I use this PIE control Sidebar, Edge Screen, Pie Control - Swiftly Switch. Basically just have home, back, and recents mapped. I run the same command as OP to hide my status/nav bars all the time but then use Granular Immersive Mode to show the nav bars for some apps. You do need to grant permissions to the app via adb commands.
I've reset my phone a few times to lock or unlock bootloader (currently rooted unlocked) and I just have these commands saved off to run after my apps are installed.
//hides nav and status
adb shell settings put global policy_control immersive.full=apps,-com.google.android.googlequicksearchbox
//grant the granular immersive mode app
adb shell pm grant com.rascarlo.granular.immersive.mode android.permission.WRITE_SECURE_SETTINGS
//tiles app (allows me to turn off/on ambient display via a quick toggle. Like to turn that off at night)
adb shell pm grant com.rascarlo.quick.settings.tiles android.permission.WRITE_SECURE_SETTINGS
Try Swiftly Switch.

Very useful on big screen
I couldn't live without an edge app of some sort. Swiftly Switch is my favorite.
Swiftly switch is similar but works in Android 5+
I love big phone but I also hate having to use it with two hands so I create Swiftly Switch :D
I'm partly one handed (Parkinson's) and I recently discovered this app: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.de_studio.recentappswitcher.trial&hl=en_GB
You should try this: Swiftly switch
It's my app, switch between running app instantly.
Maybe you can try Swiftly Switch?
Bad bot. This is the correct link.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.de_studio.recentappswitcher.trial
You could also use Swiftly Switch to launch Tasker tasks and do the same thing.
I use Swiftly Switch.
My go to for years now https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.de_studio.recentappswitcher.trial
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.de_studio.recentappswitcher.trial
This will work like those and its free
Would an app like Swiftly Switch be a good enough replacement for you?
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.de_studio.recentappswitcher.trial
I've been using this.
Check out "Sidebar, Edge Screen, Pie Control - Swiftly Switch" - https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.de_studio.recentappswitcher.trial
That depends on which pie control app you are using. Swiftly Switch, for instance, has that option.
Also try swiftly switch
It's an app I can't live without since installing it. Swiftly Switch
Try Swiftly Switch, you can place hundreds of your app here and access from anywhere: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.de_studio.recentappswitcher.trial&hl=en
Swiftly Switch. Uses an edge on the side of the screen not the volume or home buttons though.
Try Swiftly switch, you can switch to last app by swipe inward screen from the edge.
No Xposed, no root.
Swiftly Switch is the one that I use.
Yes.
I hope Google is working on changing the UI to have better one-handed ergonomics.
In the meantime I use Swiftly and do it all from side gestures. Here is what triggering on the right edge looks like I can't convey how valuable the notification drop down button is in this interface.
What I'd really like would be the shade to exist/render from the bottom with main interaction parts of the shade in proximity to your thumb which you will use to take action in the shade. Like the quick settings.
Edit, I don't get the down votes, what did I do...?
Swiftly Switch can do this, more by accident than design. There is a little pop out wheel with buttons. If you tweak the settings, swiping from the side at various angles reliably triggers the button intersected by the swipe. Buttons can be bound to apps, actions, shortcuts.
Sorry for untidy url, posting from a Kindle ...
You're in luck. Swiftly Switch can launch apps, built-in actions (like expand notifications), contacts and shortcuts, including Nova Launcher actions and of course Tasker tasks.
You may like swiftly switch https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.de_studio.recentappswitcher.trial
