Try to open (or download) the Verizon Visual Voicemail app which is where you can access Visual Voicemail in a separate app.
Then go into the settings and choose display voicemail in the dialer app.
Are you thinking of this one? https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.motorola.visualvoicemail
I installed the Gnex one just for the hell of it and I couldn't get past the checking account status but it def hasn't been updated visually. Now the regular Verizon Voicemail app has and it doesn't work with the 6P.
Depends on the phone. It works on the N6 because Motorola wrote their own visual voicemail app that ties into the dialer. Unfortunatly the 6P has no such option on Verizon. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.motorola.visualvoicemail&hl=en
Here’s Verizon’s voicemail app. Dunno if it’ll work but worth a try. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.motorola.visualvoicemail&hl=en
On newer Samsung phones when a SIM is installed in a non SIM locked phone the phone is supposed to restart, the splash screen for the carrier will appear, and the phone will automatically download that carrier’s apps.
Verizon has it too. They call it Visual Voicemail.
Out of 702 reviews, it has 1.5 stars. It overwhelmingly sucks.
I recommend your carrier's visual voicemail app for Android. Set up Visual Voicemail for your account with customer support then download this app.
Hmm maybe it was a different app? I had been using this app: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.motorola.visualvoicemail on the Droid Maxx, though I notice this one was made by Motorola so maybe that's why? Anyway, when you open the app for the first time, it asks if you want standard or premium, and standard is free. Not compatible with the Nexus 6P yet unfortunately
Does anyone have a regular Nexus 6 on Verizon? If so, it would be awesome if you could export and upload the apk for the below app. I hope it supports the N6P at some point, but the fact that it does N6 and MXPE already leaves a little light at the end of the tunnel.
I do not want to use Google Voice. I had it setup and started to have issues once I turned Advanced Calling on (VoLTE).

EDIT: Probably not going to get official support, as Moto wrote the app. :(
That's a good question. When I got my first voicemail on the phone, it alerted me to download Verizon's Visual Voicemail app. Once I downloaded it and set it up, the message went away. If you aren't using it yet, you should give it a try. It's way more handy than calling to check your messages, and it's free (if you don't get the premium). I highly suggest downloading it, even if you still want to call to check your messages.
is this the app you are using?
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.motorola.visualvoicemail&hl=en_US&pageId=none It wouldn't even install on my s10 phone
you can install visual voicemail via the google play store https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.motorola.visualvoicemail&hl=en
Looks like the Moto Pure folks get it :-(
