T-Mobile did not match Verizon in coverage. They match them in availability. Big difference.
If you read how they measure it. https://opensignal.com/methodology/availability/
They only count data if the user has LTE service on their account and if they have ever connected to LTE and that they actually get a LTE signal. So in an area where TMobile doesn't have coverage doesn't get counted into the report as no one in that area would have a T-Mobile phone with the open signal app on it to report the data.
I use Private Internet Access. I have it for free for 2 years, but it’s $3.30~ a month if you pay it yearly, cheaper than $10 extra a month with Verizon. Even cheaper if you pay every 2 years. Also that link give you 30 days for free.
Verizon has been rolling out cloud closure for nearly a year now. You shouldn't be using Verizon's cloud anyway when so many other option exist. If you have android device you can use Google One. 100 GB $1.99/month( $20/year ) 200 GB $2.99/month( $30/year ) 2 TB $9.99/month($100/year )plus other options and you share storage space with 5 other people.

If you've gone over your 22gb, then you could be deprioritized like people on the Go plan.
But Open Signal says T-mobile is the best in OKC.
https://opensignal.com/reports/2018/07/usa/state-of-the-mobile-network
No not true. However, their default tablets that they use will prompt them to change the unlimited plan when transferring an upgrade from a UDP line and when transferring a phone to a UDP line or buying a phone outright.
Just do it all online or find a rep you can trust.
Edit: Wait are the 3 shared lines on their own sub account?
Edit 2: Assuming the non udp lines are on a sub account you have 2 ways to upgrade the UDP lines while maintaining unlimited.
Method 1: Buy the phone you want full price at a non-verizon store, in a verizon store and ask them to perform the purchase on a desktop, or at verizon;s iconic portal https://preorder.verizonwireless.com/iconic/
Method 2: Best Buy method https://slickdeals.net/f/6964624-upgrade-and-keep-your-unlimited-data-with-verizon ctrl-f: best buy method
https://www.speedtest.net/global-index/united-states
Data is gathered based on people who run speed tests. The chart's accurate title should be, "Average speed of users who decided to run a speed test while on their network."
We should know, and account for: 1. How many people ran the tests from each carrier. 2. Why are they initiating the tests? (New area? Slow speeds? Etc.) 3. What are other carrier speeds in similar locations at similar times? 4. Where were the tests run?
I could go on and on, but aggregating 85 million speed tests run from an app to provide an overall performance score is pretty lame.
I switched from an iPhone to an unlocked note 9 and because their system doesn’t recognize the phone it won’t let the premium streaming stay on for more than 24 hours before removing it. Literally 6 weeks later, 40 dollars in account credits, 10 verizon up credits, at least 10 tickets, hours and hours of support calls I gave up. I bought a subscription to NordVPN at 2.99/mo with their holiday sale and said screw you to Verizon. If they don’t want to take my 10 dollars to give me the streaming I want, I’ll just circumvent their throttling system. The way this feature causes so many issues for people is insane. So I say f*ck them and get a fast VPN and stop giving them your 10 bucks a month.
Well the thing that OP wants to do might be not allowed but using a VPN is not illegal and VPN in this case is a solution. So questioning what's legal and what's not gets tricky. Just like I live in a country that doesn't allow torrenting but I use NordVPN that supports P2P traffic and my ISP has no clue that I am braking one law because VPN is not outlawed. In my case I would second to u/ElethiomelZakalwe that it's not my ISP or government's business to tell me what content I can access freely and what not.
fast.com is from netflix. So if you have a limit on video streaming quality that would be why its limited to 2mbps. Try using speedtest.net on both devices.
> Doesn't seem to be any deals at the moment.
Target deal - read about it here:
It is an even better deal if you have a Red Card.
And Amazon is selling refurbished iPhone 7's for 232.71 if you have a broke phone or a phone that doesn't qualify for the 450 switcher promotion......... Just an FYI for people that want to take advantage as well....
It's limited, but you can use the app called SMSmart to get some basic Web searches, map directions, stock quotes etc with no data. It breaks the request up into several text messages and transmits data that way. Worth looking into as a novelty, also works with the Verizon Prepaid $30 plan with unlimited talk and text but no data.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.getsmsmart.smsmart
Videos sent over a cell network are sent as MMS messages. MMS 1.2 has a limit of 300KB and MMS 1.3 has a limit of 600KB (1.2 being about 1/7th size of the average photo taken on a phone, and both 1.2 and 1.3 being far too small to send HD videos). The bad quality is because you sent them through the MMS standard. If you want higher quality, consider using an internet messaging service which doesn't impose these limits
Here is information about the Samsung Deal:
I bought this sim kit per others' recommendations. I activated it on my current device at home online after getting the account number and pin from my previous carrier. I (perhaps impatiently) called Verizon twice to have them add the extra 2GB of data (Verizon sells $50/5GB) for the promo, but received a text a day or two after activation saying that 2GB was added anyway.
https://www.speedtest.net/my-result/i/3343381454 Can’t relate. Not saying Verizon is bad, but in my areas T-Mobile has packed lots of network upgrades so it’s the best for what I’m doing and where I am.
Just tested out this method on my LG V60, which I'm assuming is similar to the G8.
Open the red Verizon voicemail app, select which voicemail you want to save, select the save button from the bottom row. Select OK on the prompt. It will bring you back to the home screen for your voicemail inbox, tap the 3 dots in the corner and select settings, then "Save voicemail to", which will show you the file path to where your voicemail audio files are. Open your files app, if you don't have one then download Google Files. Once installed, in the browser tab, shown at the bottom, scroll all the way down to "Internal Storage", it'll be at the very bottom of the screen, select that, then scroll all the way to the bottom until you find "VVM3", I'm not sure it will be the same for you, but it will be a very recent file, saying that it was made X minutes ago. Select VVM3, then archive, then files. There are your files in a ".amr" format. The way I did it was by saving the file to my Google Drive, then opening up the file on my computer then downloading it. Since ".amr" isn't very common, you can convert it to be an MP3 using a website like this one. Then your file is converted to an MP3. I hope this helps!
I use NordVPN, but I don't use it for this purpose; if you use Ebates when you get a plan it comes out to something like $60 for 3 years. I'm on a T-Mobile plan that doesn't throttle video though.
Any free VPN would be fine if you're just gonna toggle it on and off for video. Free VPNs shouldn't be trusted though. If I had to use one, I think Proton makes a VPN. They're an email company based our of Switzerland that have ultra-secure, paid email service. But I believe they have a VPN and claim not to sell your data or keep logs. How? I don't know, but as a company they are very trusted.
Yep. I have a SSL Tunneled VPN via AirVPN and have not noticed any drops. I'll try later without and see if they've done it yet.
I absolutely hate that VPN's are being named the solution to everything. They are, and i love how much more my VPN seems to fix everyday, but it's problems that shouldn't have even existed at all.
Verizon makes a lot of money on overages. They have no incentive to throttle you for that.
Speeds are much more likely to be related to congestion at your tower. Post your results from speedtest.net and we might be able to confirm that. Also use an app like LTE Discovery to show us what band you are connected to.
LTE Discovery should do this for you.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=net.simplyadvanced.ltediscovery&hl=en
XLTE is Band 4, but I believe LTE Discovery actually calls it out as XLTE, as well.
If you're paying $100 a year for a VPN you are being ripped off.
Plenty of lifetime VPN deals over at StackSocial. Torguard is $25 a year.
I bought VPN Unlimited 6 years ago for $30 and still works great.
Deal is in store only it seems, multiple users confirming.
You're half correct. Sprint has their own thing going on. The other three are interchangeable. There are, however, some politics to work around. Verizon will reject the imei if you bring a tmo phone over. So you'd have to get a live sim, then switch em out. Here's the Apple page that shows the different models for the U.S:
Why would the CEO of AT&T say "we can't continue subsidizing phones" then? Because they are taking a hit every time they do. Where they then make the money back is with the service on an already established network which you're locked into for two years. How does any of that make me ignorant?
Dude Verizon doesn’t suck here in speeds.. Roanoke I’m pulling 100-200 Mbps.. but sometimes up in the mountains I lose connection with my Verizon and ATT line but somehow not my Sprint.
You need to be rooted to bypass the tethering check, as you said. There are a couple of ways to do it, the easiest being a module for the Xposed Framework.
What do you mean by "unable to update the software"? If you're referring to over-the-air updates such as the recent 4.4.4 upgrade, you just need to restore the original recovery and system partitions before applying the update.
Found out they are hiding it from searches. You have to go directly. Not sure how you'd do that with apps. https://www.netflix.com/title/70136810
Add to "My List" and then navigate down the categories until you hit "My List". It's dumb that your personal list of flagged content is so far at the bottom.
This report?
https://opensignal.com/reports/2017/02/usa/state-of-the-mobile-network/
That lists T-Mobile and Verizon tied in speed, but still notes that verizon has the higher area of 4g coverage?
All the while verizon has more has more then twice the subscribers.
It's anecdotal, but sure seems like Verizon still has the better network, bandwidth for sure.
I'm not hating on T-Mo, just commenting that Verizon has a long history of being first to market on major tech, and handles speed as well as T-Mobile while having quite a bit more signal to route.
We have HomeFusion and have to constantly monitor usage. Some tips:
I find a valuable tool is NetWorx (https://www.softperfect.com/products/networx/). It has a handy little graph showing network usage in real time and logs usage per hour/day so you can see exactly what your machine is doing.
Use ad blockers! Ads can auto-load videos.
Make sure no viruses.
Even some sites like Facebook can use a lot of data. Make sure Facebook settings are set to not auto play videos. Wife is on Facebook all day and that can use 1GB+/day just in Facebook. Facebook is a bandwidth hog!
Andriod phones and tablets: Make sure Google play settings are set to not auto-update apps. Some app updates can be large and frequent. Update apps on your schedule and when you have bandwidth to spare. Make sure your device is up to date -> Settings -> Auto-udpate. Some phone carrier updates can be >1GB. If they fail they re-try.
Apple phones and tablets: iOS updates can be >1GB. If they fail they re-try. After a while they are automatic and forced on you. Make sure apple store is set not to auto update iOS apps. Some apps can be huge.
Get a network router that monitors bandwidth. The router you get with Homefusion does not do that.
Hope this helps.
Your going to want to check out the slick deals forum. Register and ask there. They really have their shit together.
Can't forget to mention how easy it is to do the Best Buy method when upgrading on grandfathered plans.
For OP:
https://slickdeals.net/f/6964624-upgrade-and-keep-your-unlimited-data-with-verizon
ctrl-f "best buy" for more complete info with caveats
1) Have a 4G LTE phone active on your UDP line before you order;
2) Through a 3rd party retailer online,* order a new smartphone using your UDP line's upgrade and have it shipped to home not shipped to store;
3) When the new smartphone arrives, remove the SIM card it ships with without turning it on or plugging it in; and
4) Place the 4G LTE SIM card that is currently active on your UDP line into the new smartphone and turn it on.
Ah you're in a gray area right now. See the reason why you get the SIM before the Best Buy order is placed is to make sure the SIM is attached to the account in its state before authorizing a plan change at Best Buy. The new SIM you have may be attached to your old plan or it may be attached to the new plan. With that being said if you read the one link OP posted the person got the same message you did and it still worked.

Yes, get the Unlocked XCover Pro, SM-G715U1, works fine with Verizon. I have one here that I use from time to time with my Verizon SIM.
Everything works, VoLTE, WIFI Calling, etc.
Buy a nice UPS for your ONT, Router, etc.

My FIOS is way more reliable than my power. Never missed a beat through hurricane Sandy and others. And much more reliable than using cellular in a storm.
Moto G4 Play is my 100% favorite choice. You're limited with Verizon, since most unlocked phones are GSM only.
EDIT: I just noticed someone else posted about the same phone. It's a fantastic phone, with nexus like software, for only $130.
If you have Amazon Prime, and willing to accept pre-installed amazon apps, audible, and ads on the lock screen (Only, wallpaper advertisements on lock screen only, all vanished when unlocked) You can pick one up for $99.
Amazon has a number of unlocked phones that will work with Verizon, including a Alcatel model for $80 brand new. It has Amazon lockscreen ads for that price tho. They used to have one for $60 but looks like they dont carry that model for Verizon anymore.
It would probably be cheaper and easier for you to buy this similar tiny android phone on amazon https://www.amazon.com/Unihertz-Smallest-Smartphone-Android-Unlocked/dp/B0752BYRHM/ref=sr_1_1?keywords=palm+phone&qid=1554493750&s=gateway&sr=8-1
WiFi Calling may be blocked by the network you are connected to inside China. If you have a travel VPN or something that can tunnel your traffic outside of China, you can make it work.
I did what you are asking using an AT&T SIM in an iPhone SE. AT&T specifically says wifi calling is not supported in China due to Chinese regulations. I used a NordVPN on a travel router to tunnel my traffic to Tokyo. I turned off location services on Wifi Calling in the iPhone and that is how I made tons of calls back to the US.
If your looking for a healthy balance of privacy, transparency and features i would go for AirVPN. No provider is perfect, and all are questionable in one way or another, but AirVPN operates on strict rules of Net Neutrality, offers 4mbit guaranteed bandwidth with no overselling, strict scrutiny for 3rd party server providers across the globe, custom multi-platform VPN client that offers many ports and protocols which can help you get better speeds and bypass stricter firewalls. They also have no traffic discrimination whatsoever, and no logs are kept and current VPN session details are stored in RAM and immediately deleted on disconnection.
I could go on further, but basically check it out for yourself.
Other good picks if your willing to accept some trade offs are IVPN, Mullvad, Private Internet Access and ProtonVPN

I could not believe in 2018 that there are no apps that could block texts from unknown numbers so I googled for 2 minutes:

Don't stick your dick in crazy.
For Android users, I would recommend looking at the Opera Mini web browser and putting it in "extreme data savings" mode for better web browsing when throttled. Now this uses their servers as a proxy so I wouldn't do online banking or anything with it, but for basic web surfing it should prove much faster than the web browsers typically installed on most people's phones. Heck, the ad-blocking alone probably saves literally megabytes of data transfer per page, websites have gotten so bloated these days.
Firefox with the uBlock Origin addon installed is also a good contender.

Get a second phone for work. Keep your work life and personal life separate. If your employer is going to go so far as to say that a mobile device is required, then they're going to behave like you're accessible all the time. It's going to start with the 7pm call just when you get home, then the weekend calls when they know you're at a family function but don't give a shit, and next thing you know it's going to be when you're on vacation. If you take their money for your phone, they aren't going to act like its your phone that you're using for work. They're going to act like its your work phone because you took their money for it.
Also be very careful with crap like this because it means they have the ability to remote wipe, and possibly view data on your personal phone. They might also have access to your phone's location data. Take a look at the permissions list for Good for Enterprise for Android and think if you want your employer having that access to your phone.
u/jordanl171 actually there is a fix. Go to the play store and
uninstall the messages app
Go to this website: https://www.apkmirror.com/apk/google-inc/messenger-google-inc/messenger-google-inc-4-4-070-release/ select the most recent one and download it.
Install it on the device and there ya go RCS messages working again.
You're going to have to cut your SIM cards. Remember do NOT power on the Amazon phones with the SIM they provide still in them. You can buy a cutter through Amazon or follow this template.

slower speeds on Verizon we are actually all talking about this where I live in northern NJ. anyone know of a forum directly with Verizon that we can post these threads to?
back in Dec '17 Google pixel 2 was 300$ off bill credit and a 250$ target Gift Card. phone was basically 100$
Edit: at Target Edit 2: Fix date and here is a link
T-Mobile has that option for EXTRA $$$. Verizon doesn't charge extra. A bit of a difference don't you think. Doesn't matter what resolution you have Netflix know what kind of device it is and throttles accordingly.
Go here on your PHONE https://www.netflix.com/title/70136810
Let it run a few minutes then tell me the highest bitrate it shows. Even on wi-fi using my Charter 100 Mbps connection 1 foot form the router it's never higher than 1750 kbps and yes I have it set to show the maxim possible quality and 1750 is the max i get using cellular too. Now if use the phone as a hotspot and connect my roku then it gets as high as 5800 kbps but 5800 is still well under 10000 kbps.
Interesting. Verizon aggressively hard throttles video streams like Netflix, etc. when on LTE and 5G Nationwide. Depending on your plan, the device, and your stream setting, this data rate is typically between ~1.5 and 4.5 Mbit/sec -- irrespective of how fast the LTE/5G NationWide speeds are.
In my case, on an iPhone 13, with Do More Unlimited, and 720p set in myVerizonApp, I get about 4.0-4.5 Mbit/sec when benchmarking Fast.com (aka Netflix). As you discovered, this throttle goes away if you are connected to 5G UltraWide (currently mmWave only, soon to add C-Band - Jan) or if you use a VPN.
I wasn't aware that Verizon throttled Twitch in the same way, but I'm not surprised. I don't really use Twitch much so I hadn't noticed.
Theoretically you can pay even more ($10/line/month) to add higher speed video streaming (ranges from 10-40 Mbit/sec). But successfully adding this legacy feature to modern plans can be challenging.
But yes, it sucks. At least on AT&T, on higher end plans, when you turn off "Stream Saver" you get full speeds. This is not true on Verizon.
Many people use VPN for this reason. I've tried, but I honestly cannot stand the lag. I don't really stream much video on my phone. Fortunately, they don't throttle high definition audio (e.g. high bitrate FLAC) which I stream for hours and hours two and from work each week.
Even if you aren't a costco member, you can still use the gift cards! At least you can with the regular gift cards:
> Members and non-members may use the cash cards to shop at any Costco location in the United States, Canada, Puerto Rico and online at Costco.com or on Costco.ca
Is this promo only for new verizon customers, or for a new edge activation?
Well, we have other lines in use that we may want to include in this. Plus, we want to allow room for growth. This is new for us so we're really not sure what kind of data is going to be used. I think I found something that may be what we are looking for. Or at least a start. https://www.apple.com/business/vpp/
If you're looking for an anonymous prepaid phone going with the Big 4 is not the way to go. You want to go through an MVNO like Virgin or Boost. You want to do this in person and use cash. There are new classes of applications coming online / already exist. The first wave of applications that depend on UWB are streaming AAA games. Low band isn't good enough. UWB is good enough. The vendors are:
- Google (Stadia)
- Amazon (Luna)
- Microsoft (xCloud)
- Sony (PS Now)
- Nvidia (GeForce Now)
Many of these apps are available right now on iOS and Android. Stadia and GFN just recently released PWA apps for iPhone (within the past few weeks). Other classes of applications are being designed and built specifically to target UWB capability. Again, this is just the first wave.
Basically like every other telco company - "We support a free & open internet, but don't regulate us"
There is no way through normal procedures to get a new phone. I have lots of opinions about this issue, gonna keep most of them to myself though. Personally, I don't think Verizon wants to be in the warranty business. They would rather focus on the network.
My advise. Investigate alternative equipment protection in the future. I have seen similar situations with Applecare customers though, so this is not just an issue for Verizon.
If you don't trust Verizon's map (and maybe you shouldn't), you can check OpenSignal's map. They track all the carriers. The information is crowdsourced though, and you have to use their app and opt in to what amounts to constant tracking to contribute. I do it when we're on the road and I'm plugged in. But due to the nature of how it works, it may not be conclusive, especially in... rural areas where people are less apt to be using the app, and areas Verizon actually covers but no one's taken the app there.
If OpenSignal says you're good, you should be good. If Verizon says you're good and OpenSignal says you're not, you might be.
edit: I live near Greenville, NC, and drive all around there. It's a college town, and I literally have a Verizon tower within a stone's throw of my front door, but I drive through the rural areas of eastern North Carolina, and I've always had great signal.
The numbers on the map are just peak single user speeds. The average real life speed with multiple users accessing the network at the same time is 22 Mbps in Japan as measured by OpenSignal. Besides that comparison of any mobile network with any home broadband network needs to account for a massive difference in traffic: mobile networks average about 5 GB per user per month while home broadband networks move 10-20 times more than that.
I'm going to go out on a limb and say that CS has no idea what they're talking about.
Last year VZW 3g speeds were clocked at sub 1mbps: https://opensignal.com/reports/2016/02/usa/state-of-the-mobile-network/
Have you tried any other "speed test" related service? Like https://www.nperf.com/en/. I know some services either don't support the speed or the servers hosting the speed testing portion are loaded down with other users doing the same thing you are doing. Next would be to look into the Edge device.
>Just checked the download speed using fast.com (per your suggestion) on my phone (no video playing): 1.8 mbs.
Which is exactly what you should be getting on video throttle

>Of course, for those who feel, as Hoo_Pharted does, that 1.9mbs is fast enough for anything you need to do on your phone, its not relevant. Then again, neither are all the hoopla and attention (reviews, etc.) on who has the "fasted" network if 1.9 mbs is good enough . . . .
You stated you were getting 20-30 Mbps. The 1.9 Mbps only refers to VIDEO and that limit is stated right in the plan
In times of congestion, your data may be temporarily slower than other traffic. DVD-quality streaming (up to 480p) on smartphones.
Also keep in mind that video streaming is throttled on the prepaid plan. Right now I get about 8.5-10mbps down on fast.com. While a speed test on Ookla get's me about 40mbps down. But there is a thread here in this forum that says starting tomorrow the speed will be limited to HD. But there are questions about what speed that actually is.

Just something to keep in mind. If AT&T works in your area get a Mobley line while you can. It's about $24 per month and they are much lighter handed (so far) with their deprio and non enforcement of a video throttle.

I'm guessing here :https://slickdeals.net/f/7743625-verizon-how-to-use-a-subsidized-upgrade-and-keep-your-unlimited-data-plan-or-avoid-a-2-year-data-plan-on-a-nationwide-basic-line would be the best place to start.
Yeah, I think fewer people would cling to two-year service contracts if they calculated long-term net costs. The only rational reasons to stay on a plan with a two-year service contract are:
Ok. Amazon is more tricky but people still report it working. Couple things to consider. Amazon has a separate etf they may hit you with if it goes through their assurance division. If it hits there they will also manually change your plan. As I said, if you rummage through the slickdeals forums people report it working on Amazon but those are things to consider. Going through Best Buy still works.
What phones are you coming from. Let's try to make this as painless as possible.

Ctrl-f: Best Buy Method
Also, the loophole you're suggesting was closed, as we knew it, some time ago as ghmmr1 said.
https://slickdeals.net/f/6964624-upgrade-and-keep-your-unlimited-data-with-verizon
Over 1000 pages of this working. Find the Best Buy method from the beginning. Then go the last to see that it still works.
If it fucks up you have 14 days to return it and attempt to revert everything back. Call Verizon and they'll attempt to do an Inactive Pricing Request. Be aware that you don't always get your unlimited back after you lose it.
Your assumptions are correct. But with anything there's a chance someone pushes it through anyway. A slim chance but a chance none the less.
If you want some comfort just go to the last pages of this thread to see that people are still successfully accomplishing this.
https://slickdeals.net/f/6964624-upgrade-and-keep-your-unlimited-data-with-verizon
Yeah true, though it depends how near by the closest VPN hub is to you. For me it varies greatly which one is fastest on ExpressVPN but I do have like 3 options very close by. Without a speed test you wouldn't notice the drop of like 5-10mbps, though you might notice the slightly longer ping for clicking links and such.
Do you have a router now with Ethernet ports? Go buy a long cat5 or 6 cable for something fast. Or use something like this access point You plug it into an outlet, connect it to your wifi and plug your computer into this on the Ethernet port.
Ok then leave Verizon and switch to ATT or T-Mobile if you want 1080 p or 4K definition.. definitely remove the extra $10.00 fee definitely not worth it . So if you have ExpressVPN or nord vpn then you should be able to stream 1080 p or higher with out paying the extra $10.00 . But a lot of people have already given you good advice. I’m on att and I have Verizon and I stream 1080 and 4K on att no issues . When I try on Verizon it does not play correctly and it just loads slow and buffers with full bars of signal. If you truly want hd leave Verizon
Buy an adatper off of amazon - just make sure you use a piece of double sided tape to hold the nano SIM in the adapter because if it slips out even a bit when you go to insert it in or remove it from the device, it can ruin the SIM card reader of the device. Also, the noosy's don't fit the Verizon nano SIMs very well.
I use these and they fit the Verizon nano SIMs:

I don't know where you starting your travel but in France, there is a prepaid plan called Orange Holiday where you pay 40 euro and you get 10GB of data + 120 mins of phone call + 1000 SMS with free roaming included for majority of Europe.
If your first place of travel is not France, you can pay $50 and get it from Amazon.
I would look at used phones on Swappa. Not sure anything is going to reach that pricepoint at new, and good is a big ask if you're trying to get under $100. I did a quick check on Amazon, this phonewouldn't be too horrible.
Hmm, getting downvoted for some reason, lol...
According to Samsung, I have to buy the international version, and as long as it works on GSM, I should be fine... Samsung USA does not have the international version, however they told me to buy it from Amazon or some other retailer...
Per Verizon, I've spoken with customer service and the international Note 9 will work on their system.. At&t said the same...
Edit: yes, I've looked at the OnePlus', but ran into some difficulty... won't work on At&t or something...
Looked at Huawei as well, which Verizon says won't work on their network...

Note: You can verify this email via the google play store. It’s the email address for the developer team. Apple’s App Store doesn’t have a similar space for contact info otherwise I’d direct you to verify there.

Thanks.
On consumer plans, you can pay $10 more per month to upgrade from 480/720 video to 1080 video. But, I think the BW is still technically throttled. Just a higher limit.
Or you can use any decent VPN application (ExpressVPN, Nord, etc.) to bypass the throttle entirely.
Warp 1.1.1.1 by Cludflare is pretty much the only one I use now.. The free version works great for me. I’m also very happy KeepSolid VPN Unlimited with which was always my go-to when traveling to China to bypass the great firewall, but Warp is relatively new and I didn’t have it to try out on my last trip.

Not as easy to put on I had just put one on my 10+ and had the technique down pat. Fingerprint works flawlessly. Two comes in a pack and a lifetime warranty. (I've warrantied a amFilm regular tempered glass before and they basically ship out another Amazon order. I hope it will work the same for these kind of screen protectors)
Well that's where the paragraph I quoted earlier on comes in.
The APK is the service, the app still is in the system, just has no visibility. To get it, simply get this app https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.sika524.android.quickshortcut (Don't worry, you can uninstall it later)
When you open it, it will ask to search for a keyword. Search for Samsung Account Storage. Tap into it, you'll get 2 options: Backup Settings (For Me is First) or Sync and Auto-Backup Settings (For me is Second). Tap the Backup Settings one. Hit "Create". You should be able to see the app in your App Drawer. Open it, hit the 3 bars in top right, hit settings, then turn on "show Samsung Cloud Icon" You can now uninstall the app I linked you.
Above and Beyond have the same 720p streaming limit. I agree you think they would at least add 1080p streaming with out charging you an extra $10 per month. I was fortunate enough to grab a ProXPN lifetime account for $39 a few years ago it works fine for bypassing the limit.
Verizon vpn sucks compared to others. You should check out Proton VPN. They are based in Switzerland which is great for privacy. Works on any device. Best of all, it’s FREE. There is a paid option if you want but it works for 99% of people.
Private Internet Access is also a good privacy first vpn, extremely popular.
I think goUnlimited's use of 480p streaming isn't necessarily the issue that should be first and foremost at hand. goUnlimited has 0mb of buffer data before you are thrown into the potential deprioritization category. If you live in/visit an area that frequently has high congestion, you may run into some issues with goUnlimited deprioritization. Most of the time, people who are on goUnlimited have perfectly acceptable speeds and can go about their life using their phones with 0 hiccups. I live in an area with fairly high congestion (1-3 Mbps in the daytime and 60-70 Mbps during the night) and on goUnlimited I frequently got speeds so slow my phone detected that I wasn't connected to a tower, furthermore, when it would connect I was below the safetymode speeds rendering even basic tasks impossible.
Now with that being said, the 8GB plan is still offered to this day so it's not a big deal if go unlimited doesn't work for you. Another comment in this thread suggested a older plan that has 22 GB of buffer data per line before the depriorization cutoff which may suit you better and is at a similar cost to go unlimited.
Now to answer the video questions, yes 480p is noticeable in quality difference but it's not unbearable. You can bypass that limit by using a VPN (NordVPN, VPN 360, etc) but the speeds you get using a VPN is completely dependent on the speeds you get from verizon.
Edit: also worth noting that video streaming isn't whitelisted, you can't stream a video if your data is too slow from deprioritization regardless of Verizon's quality cap.
if you don't care about privacy from the VPN provider and just want privacy from Verizon, any free VPN will work. However if you pay for onr, there is definitely more privacy from the provider and Verizon. For paid, I recommend Private Internet Access, Nord, or Torguard.
I am using a VPN Nordvpn for now to get full video speed. Thanks to Verizon, I got Samsung DEX so I can still netflix at full 1080p on TV. Sprint already throttles VPN's right now.. We are going to have to start using Chameleon VPNS like VyprVPN as they do in China to instagram Jesus Christ!
>is there anything I should avoid doing?
Don't look at child porn or do illegal activities, but that's pretty obvious. Don't EVER EVER EVER put it in a phone and use it as such. You'll get your line suspended by the leaser in record time. If you torrent, do yourself and the owner a favor and get a VPN. They're cheap. Private Internet Access costs about $35 a year.
>Have you ever had a line canceled?
Not yet, but I haven't quite been at it a year yet.
>What are some of the biggest data usages you've seen?
The guy I most recently started leasing to is on pace for a record. He is out in the middle of nowhere Ohio and was paying $90 a month for super slow satellite internet that had a 15gb cap. He, his wife, and his 2 kids are going HAM on it now. 105gb in about 15 days.
I know of people that do nothing but torrent on UDP lines and they burn through over 1TB of data every month.
Do you just use the Jetpack for your WiFi? Most of the newer routers will run off an aircard (basically ethernet over USB). You can get a router, plug the jetpack in there, and you'll have a much stronger whole-house signal.
Let me know if you make friends with your neighbors and they need a UDP line. I have 2 open right now, but might be filling one pretty soon.
I use Should I Answer? for android for exactly that. I was getting calls 5-10 times a DAY so now I reject all calls not in my contacts. Sooo much better that way.
The LG V20 VS995 might work, I have no idea about WiFi call recording, but it works on my US996 for VoLTE using this. (The US996 can't do WiFi calls on Verizon)
It does have USB-C though. I just bought extra cables and adapters from Amazon.
Have a Pixel XL too.

Post your LTE band, dBm over a few minutes walking around your house/outside. Looking to see if it significantly changes it changes.
This will help narrow down if it's something provisioning wise or service.
