Found them on Amazon for the “Voidvast store”. Super easy to install. Came as a 4 pack but only needed 2 for the front since the back doors don’t have lights. courtesy lights
It's mounted with double stick tape.
There's the expensive and easy way or the cheap but difficult way.
There is a P-AWS version of the RLX so you can buy the P-AWS badge for $45 from any Acura dealer.
For $11 on Amazon I made my own.
See link below from Amazon. I purchased the P - AWS as letters, stuck them on backwards on clear packing tape to line them up. I had to cut the hyphen shorter and at an angle. Then I carefully measured and put masking tape on the car to line it up. I cleaned the paint with alcohol then stuck it on. I ordered black since my other logos are black.

Being able to use Google Maps from your phone is a fearture of Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
Take a look at this list of cars from the manufacturers that support each of these.
Apple CarPlay - 2017 Acura NSX
Android Auto - No Acuras listed
I'm so disappointed that the 2017 MDX facelift didn't include CarPlay. Acura is just falling further behind in technology.

Assuming that by "Bluetooth FM transmitters," you mean you wanted to stream music from your phone over your car speakers... this is what you should have gotten.
That handy device is the version for YOUR car, I have the same type but different plugs for my 2006 TL and it plugs into the XM transmitter in the trunk. Very easy install, easy to pair with my phone, and it allows "XM1" to be my phone's audio. The audio from my phone (Amazon Music, Google Maps, Waze, etc) all sound crystal clear and my steering wheel controls even work to change songs.
Expensive lesson, but yeah I suggest switching it back and sell what you initially bought.
Here's an install kit
A quick Google search shows a bunch of diy guides
Edit the link is for the wrong year/gen tsx but just search by year and you'll find it
Agree with everyone saturnotaku said, but I can't not add that it's lame they didn't add Apple Carplay / Android Auto at the same time Honda did.
https://www.apple.com/ios/carplay/available-models/
Can see there the Civics and Accords in 2016 had it, there's no excuse Acura shouldn't have incorporated it. It's my only regret in buying my 2016 and after having a rental with Carplay, I'll be making sure my next car has it. Highly recommend prioritizing that feature in whatever you're looking for.
That said, it's a fun little car, comfortable, and I drive like an old man now anyways. Have a motorcycle to go fast.
Can’t be done because of integration. If you don’t want to spend that type of money you could get this.

I put amber LED bulbs, in my TLX and they look red when flashing. The housing of the TLX is really thick the amber doesn’t shine through.
I personally use OXILAM and stand by their brand. I installed these on my TLX and didn’t need resistors. I’ve left my turn signals on for 10mins+ in 100 degree weather and never experienced hyper flash.
looks like both of them need to be wired up so I don't expect any delay, at least you don't have to take your dash apart but you'd have to figure out how to hide your wiring all the way to the back of your car (probably where the license plate is)
^ this one's slightly more expensive and wireless. not sure about its delay.
I used this.

My friend's 2020 ILX had wind noise issues a few days after the bought it. He had to get new weather-stripping on the door and door jam under warranty.
Before adding any weatherstripping, just do a paper test. Close the door on a sheet of paper. Then try to pull the paper out or wiggle it around. If the paper moves easily, you need to add weather-stripping there. Think of the sheet of paper like a feeler gauge.
To reduce road noise and isolate the cabin better. I recommend you to install Noico 80 mil butyl and Noico Red 150 mil CCF onto the door skin, under the hood (remove the hood insulator first, and stick it onto the underside of the hood), trunk lid, and spare tire well.
When I did this to my TSX, it almost brought it to Lexus levels of quiet. I think if I had the double pane glass they used on the refreshed TSX, it would be pretty damn close to a refreshed 2nd gen IS350 in terms of isolation. Another bonus to doing this is it will absolutely improve the low and and mid range of your stereo system.
It should still pass sound without video. I used something like this: Rankie 3.5mm to 2-Male RCA Adapter Audio Stereo Cable, 6 Feet https://www.amazon.com/dp/B071R4R5B8/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_V9V0WWAJGSAVCT79S5FR
There is a system that I've seen that intercepts the antenna plug into the stock radio, and connects via an aux cord or Bluetooth to a phone. When the radio is set to a given frequency it channels into the adapter and streams your music as though it was broadcast like any other radio station. It offers a higher quality sound and is generally more reliable than a traditional fm transmitter, and requires no real alteration.
Here is one on Amazon:

Congrats on your car!
Personally, I avoided the Nav package because I knew I would never use it when I went on drives that needed a GPS so I wouldn't be of much help in that area. My phone keeps me up to date in almost real time and helps with police too (Waze).
As far as it goes for bluetooth audio, the links provided by other Redditors will do just fine. I, for one, did not want to commit my time nor my money for an aftermarket bluetooth unit. Instead, I purchased a bluetooth FM transmitter from Amazon that connects with my phone automatically upon starting the car. Unfortunately, it doesn't start playing music as soon as it syncs. In addition, it obviously doesn't give you the steering wheel controls but you can switch/pause the song with the controls on the module it self. It also has a microphone built into it for phone calls but does require you to talk a little bit louder depending on where you plug the device in. I plugged mine into the cigarette lighter receptacle near the shift knob and only have to speak a little bit lighter.
Though it doesn't satisfy (3) completely, it could serve as a temporary solution until you have the money/time to install your aftermarket unit. I provided the link for you down below!
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01CC7YMVG/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Yes the HFL is the Bluetooth unit. Just Acura and Hondas name for it. The USB/aux connections are separate from the HFL unit. I've seen people get the USB or aux Bluetooth adapters when their phone stops working with the HFL or if the HFL breaks and they don't want to replace it.
Edit: something like this https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01HDO66NK/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_2f-sFbEXKDSSN
I have the same rims, but i've never seen them discolour like that. But i use this. http://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B003UT3S6Q?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_search_detailpage It works great on my Acura and my Harley. I used to scrub my rims with dish soap and a sturdy brush (which had no effect), now i just spray this on and i can see the grime and brake dust melting off and running down the rims. This is seriously the best rim product i've ever used. Yes its expensive, and yes its worth every penny. The product pictures on amazon are accurate, check out the user posted pictures too.
There are lots of great speakers out there. I chose JBL for my doors and I like them a lot. But Kenwood, Kicker, and Infinity are equally good brands (just to name a few). All four speakers in the car are 6.5 inch. The two in the back just have a cover that pops off and they come right out. The two front ones (in the doors) are tricky because the speaker hole in the door panel isn't really wide enough to fit most aftermarket speakers. No issues with depth, just width. I used a cutting wheel to make the openings a little wider and the speakers fit right in. You can easily connect them to the factory speaker plugs with this: http://www.amazon.com/Honda-Speaker-Adapter-Harness-Connector/dp/B0015G17CS
As far as the head unit...I'm not sure about swapping the Bose one in. It might work. That's not a thing people really ever do. Most just op for an aftermarket head unit. Lots of brands for those too. I have a Pioneer one. Pioneer is highly recommended for quality head units.
Check out Amazon for door speakers and head units, people rate and write lots of reviews on them.
The guys over at /r/carav are very helpful too, as long as you're not asking questions that could just as easily be googled.
Its pretty hit or miss but pre ‘16 models seem to have the most issues. Why not play it safe just in case and use a [cheap memory saver](https://www.amazon.com/APSG-OBD11-Battery-Memory-Computer/dp/B07BLQ9WSS/]?
This one looks like it could fit okay, but if it doesn’t then you’re out $350 :/
This might work, spark plugs and pump might be run me about 300. I could try to learn and do this myself (I don’t have prior experience but friend’s dad has tools and I wanna learn about the car) the master and slave cylinder for the clutch might also cost me 300
The back one was pretty simple. I just removed the stock emblem, cut a piece of red vinyl wrap in the shape of the emblem, pasted the vinyl where the emblem goes and then placed the emblem on top of the vinyl and adhered it with 3M emblem glue.
The front was a bit more tricky. The only way to remove the stock emblem is to cut the two prongs/tabs (not sure what they called exactly) behind the grille that hold the emblem in place. I then cut a piece of thin plexiglass (any thin piece of plastic or metal would work) in the shape of the emblem and then wrapped that plexiglass in the red vinyl. I adhered the emblem to the plexiglass with the emblem glue and then adhered the whole thing to the grille using the same glue.
I know it's kind of low budget and janky, but they turned out very well and I get a lot of compliments on it.
I used this glue.
I used this red vinyl wrap, though you can use any color you prefer.
That is the coolant reservoir tank, if you are asking about which coolant you should buy the oem type 2 coolant. you can find it on amazon, or you're local dealer.
I've done this twice on my RDX. It's as easy as changing the oil. One added step measure how much comes out and not overfilling. If I remember, you drain 3-4 quarts, add 3-4 quarts. This is the oil I use.
Warming up the transmission oil will make it flow a little better as it's a thicker viscosity than the engine oil.
You can buy a kit online that will come with a sanding block, cleaner, and a paint applicator. Search something like "wheel scratch repair kit". It probably won't end up looking perfect upon close inspection but it should make it far less noticeable. Look at whether your wheels are gloss or matte and try to get a match. Something like this. https://www.amazon.com/Wheel-Scratch-Fix-Universal-Colors/dp/B07VD9R7QH

People asked the size of the ID of the hose and say it's 1/16" but stretches over 1/8".

Question:What size is the hose i/d ?
Answer:I'm guessing the inside diameter is about 1/16", expanding well beyond 1/8". Basically, for a standard auto brake nipple.
By Paul on February 25, 2018
I would have to say it's a little bit bigger than 1/16". It does expand pretty good to slip over the bleeder screw. It does however wear to the point it will split and you have to cut off the split part. I have used mine a lot and it works good at capturing the brake fluid.

I’m South Carolina so a little to far to come help. But go buy one of these.
And VERY CAREFULLY and I mean EXTRA SUPER VERY CAREFULLY and SLOWLY attempt to thread the chaser into the spark plug hole. Make damn sure you are going EXACTLY STRAIGHT DOWN to ensure you are not cross threaded it. If your lucky it should run through and clean/repair the threads. If that does not work you will need to take it and have a TIMESERT installed by a professional mechanic. Best of luck.

Curious if yours is similar.
I don't own a TLX Type-S, so I wouldn't know how to take the console apart; I can't imagine it would be too difficult though. I have however vinyl wrapped a lot of stuff including the interior trim of TSX. I use exclusively 3M vinyl because I am familiar with it, know how to work it and it's held up very well on everything I have used it for so far. So, it's an easy recommendation for me. They have a lot of colors and patterns including wood trims. I love their carbon fiber wrap because it's very detailed and has a great texture. However, it's very matte and non-reflective, so it might now match the OEM carbon fiber trim. If you want something that matches well, you might want to give VViViD's High Gloss Carbon Fiber wrap a look. I hear a lot of good things about VViVD but I haven't tried them out yet personally. I also hear that it's easier to work because it's not as thick as 3M.
Hope that helps.
I see you're one year ahead of me which is nearly identical. I thought 15L was just my lot in life or maybe I sucked at driving lol, but now even if I gun it I'm down in the low 10s.

It's honestly pretty easy. Get yourself something like this. Run the wire just like in the video, on the window part, mount in the middle and run the wire along the class and the plastic trim. Use the plastic tool to basically push it in between the glass and the trim.
Follow along the curve and continue down the window (like towards you when the hatch is open). In the upper left corner of the video you linked, the plastic trim meets another piece of plastic trim. You can use the plastic tools to pry the plastic back just enough to fit the wire down in there. Now the wire is hidden along the window and you can pull it through the left hinge and run it along the left side headboard and trim.

The truth is, fwd with winter tires will run better in the snow than an AWD with all-season tires. Source: http://www.consumerreports.org/cro/magazine/2015/09/do-you-really-need-awd-in-the-snow/index.htm
I live in Minnesota and I bought my TL SH-AWD mostly for the fun in driving and a little for the Winters. If you want fun then get the SH-AWD but if you're more worry about the traction in the Winters then I recommend sticking with the FWD with snow tires. The difference in the TLX with and without SH-AWD in the US is $2200 USD. If you're going to buy a FWD, I'd recommend buying a set of decent winter tires that will cost you around $1200 USD (after tax, fees, installation, balance, etc.). When comparing, you're already more than half way there to get the SH-AWD that will run in all-season tires and in my experience, it's worth it.
I also went on Amazon and bought a license plate hardware kit with black caps because the bare stainless screws did not look right. Totally worth it for the clean look. Beautiful car btw.

Looks like the aftermarket parts were all daliracing.com. This car has had 3 previous owners, one in Canada. They didn't tear up the interior system for the audio system so it fits inside the slot. I'm thinking of replacing it anyway.
Timing and water pump were both done at the Acura dealer prior to sale. There are these aftermarket wheels which I don't recognize, but they have a single locking nut around the axle and then a ring with a ring to hold it in place. Never seen that before.
Would you recommend replacing the spare with something else? That thing looks... stock, and I don't want to be stranded if I get a flat. (I do have AAA and can request a flatbed tow.)
Since I have aftermarket parts, would you recommend someone look at the tune on the engine? I don't have anything to compare it too, but it feels faster than the numbers I read about for stock.
Also, mad props for answering my question in a non condescending way! You've given me a lot to think about. I'll head over to the nsxprime and try to make some friends.
Those screws are super tight from the factory, it's annoying as hell. I use a #3 Phillips bit in my air hammer "shake and break" attachment without the air hammer so I have more leverage on the screw and use my body weight to keep it from slipping. If you have a bit holder that fits on a ratchet you can try the same thing. Or a pair of vice grips on the handle of the screwdriver to get more leverage and keep pressure down on the screw to keep it from stripping.
Good luck!
Thanks m8 - I used a Turtle Wax Headlight Restoration kit. Its affordable + most effective vs other brands. Due note it's not a long term solution. (May need to apply 2-3 times throughout the year depending on driving style/weather conditions)

It was pretty straight forward on my 2017. I don't think much has changed with the new model. I followed this video. I used Honda specific transmission fluid.
No, Apple CarPlay wasn't added to the TLX until 2018, and not to the ILX until 2019. It's one of the big reasons people argued the same year Honda's were better since both the Civic & Accord had CarPlay and Android Auto since 2016.
Here's the list from the Apple website.
Your best bet of adding it to your car would be something like this. I'm still debating getting it and I'd DIY the install. Of course I almost spent that much just today on window tint lol... I'll probably give it another month and try to dig up more info about it. Will make a post if I do get it and install it. Will be same install / results on the ILX vs TLX.

I highly recommend an aux to tape adapter. I use it in my CL all the time with great success. Most people would assume it lowers audio quality, but in my vehicle the speakers are the limiting factor, not the tape deck.
I’ve tried the car powered fm radio adapter before too. It’s good in a pinch (like getting music to play on an old ski boat). But I don’t think it’s as good as the tape adapter.

If you have access to AC power, a slow charger / trickle charger might help. I have a car that I don’t drive often enough to keep the battery up. I bought this thing to keep it charged up when parked. Works great.

You need a high capability (sometimes physically bigger) battery that’s still 12 volts. Or two batteries in parallel that would be 12 volts. But there’s always a space problem. Think of an 80s boom box. It could run on ten 1.5 volt AA batteries, but instead uses ten 1.5 volt D batteries. Same voltage output, but more ‘capacity’ with bigger batteries.
Could be a million different things and could take quite a bit for a skilled mechanic to diagnose. Basically connect a multimeter to the battery and fuse and various wires to track down what's draining it over time. Here's a video to get the idea:
Alternatively you can install a quick release plug for your battery. Something like this:
Spurtar Top Post Battery Disconnect Switch Battery Master Switch Isolator with Green Knob 12V or 24V for Car Truck Boat Vehicles Power Disconnect Cut Off https://www.amazon.com/dp/B074HW532B/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_glt_fabc_7PHTM6A761V5EVRN47YR?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
Then whenever you park the car for the a couple hours you can quickly disocnnef the battery so it doesn't drain. Not an ideal solution but tracking down electrical faults can be tricky and costly.
Picked this up on Amazon for only $14. Installation took minutes. The door lights pop right off with a flat topped screw driver (use tape to cover screwdriver head to avoid scratches), and easily swap. Pretty happy with them. The quality is nice and it's fairly bright in darker environment.

There's a known issue with the TL manual transmissions where it's hard to get into third gear. In many cases, though, substituting General Motors manual transmission fluid "fixes" it. Worked for me in two of my TLs.

Look like genuine OEM parts same part numbers and good reviews for half the price of the dealer. I just bought these and will be putting them in next week. Couldn’t find a good source for the gaskets which you need to replace with the switches so I will be getting those from my local dealer
This is the one I bought. It works great. Yes it does block the vent but it also cools the phone!
While I've not personally owned a window sucker type I've been told by friends that they can be problematical. Further, I don't like the idea of the mark they may leave on the glass (that MIGHT just be the difference between a clean spot on a dirty windshield though).
There are many to choose from. I think a major feature consideration is i) how sturdy they are, and ii) how easy it is to put your phone in and take it out. So many types grip your phone and it's a bit of a pain. This design simply uses gravity to apply horizontal griping force, translated from the phone's weight. When you slide the phone up, there is no resistance and it comes out easily.
I do find the vent mount to be sturdy, and have no issues with the phone moving around when I touch it - although it took a few tries to get the mount properly seated on the vent. I find the location, being beside the steering wheel, is both just outside of my peripheral view when I don't want to see it, and easy to look quickly at (eg. at google maps) when I need to. I fear that a phone mounted on the window would be higher up and thus interfering in my field of vision while driving.
In my car (Acura RDX) there is no lack of air for convection or cooling, so "blocking the air vent" is not an issue.
Mind you, these mounts are so cheap you might as well try a few and keep the one you like. It all depends on your car's layout and your personal preference. Good luck.
Super easy to do. All you need is a screwdriver. I saw a YouTube video. Can't get any more simple than this upgrade. I tested this for a few minutes. No issue so far. I can always change back to the original bulbs if I see issues. It's super bright, maybe a lil too bright at night but we will see.

Do you guys think this would do the trick?
I also have an 2022 MDX advanced and am also very picky about phone mounts. I don’t like vent mounts because they block airflow. They have to be rock solid - no rattling and still give full view of all screens and use of all buttons/levers. This is the best option I’ve found.

They have transmitters that will send to a radio station or aftermarket adapters that you can hardwire to the radio. In my ‘04 TSX I had the radio transmitter for a while and just put the programmed station as one of the quick selects. Eventually I was brave enough to take the radio out and connect the real system which was much more like a newer vehicles bluetooth (it would play on that input and I could use all other Bluetooth features).
The hardwired unit was this one:

Put one of these in. Does the trick. Super low profile. I also don’t use the film on the windshield and still looks solid IMO.
some context: i bought the car with HIDs, they burned out. I replacement with other HIDs and then they burned out. finally, i replaced it with new headlights and leds. which are these for the low beam: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07KP9RFPZ/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
The leds already have a built in ballast. I had some help rewiring for the new leds since it had a different connector.
Yeah I'm positive it even got to the point some acura dealers were changing out the fluid because the transmission was rebuilt and the problem persisted. A civic from the same era with a similar transmission also had a 3rd gear synchro issue and lots of them also switched the fluid which cleared the issue. You can find pages of people with the issue online going all the way back to 2004 when it was first released all the threads point to this being the fix and with my personal experience of having the same fluid for 100k miles with no hiccups I'd agree with them.
Heres the amazon link, the transmission takes 2.3 qts so you'll need 3 bottles https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0026JK8FK/ref=cm_sw_r_other_apa_glt_i_A1NNCM47BRC3TEKZGB47
Yup! This is the one I had. You also need to plug it into a battery source like a cigarette lighter or similar.
I used this on my MDX after seeing members mentioned it on FB.

The side markers are potted so tou would need to crack them open to replace the LEDs.
I just replaced the side markers last year eith the Type S smoked ones. Looks great.
Considering you live in Texas, maybe use a relocation kit for the front license plate that goes on the front tow hook.
Personally I’m not a big fan of these kits, but it’s an option. Front license plates relocation
I haven’t used this myself but it seems to work well based on the reviews
I have a '16 Advance and I don't have your issues. If I did, I could/would solve it in different ways:
1) If powertrain warranty doesn't get a Auto start/stop fix, you can rewire it to be off by default
Idlestopper discussion on TLXforums
2) You can buy a BT handsfree that plugs into the 3.5" jack assuming the problem is the System and not the phone. An additional advantage is that you'd remove the lag from music play
Amazon link to a $30 BT to 3.5mm adaptor
If those aren't valid fixes to avoid a 15-30k additional spend, I have some suggestions for cars. I always keep in mind what car I would buy today, if I had to buy a car.
2018 Kia Stinger GT: all the performance you wanted from the Type S, but used and at a similar cost to the 18 TLX. To match the performance of the current TLX, could even stick to a Stinger Premium,
Lease a Volvo S60. They lease extremely cheap (~400/month per leasehakr). Here, you'd might sell your car separately (or trade in to a diff dealer) as to not have money invested into a lease
2019+ RDX or Mazda CX-5: The Acura is the precusor, tech wise to the '21 TLX with the newer infortainment system. The Mazda is probably the best value in small SUVs. If you could get a CX5 with the turbo, you wouldn't feel like you are sacrificing much performance relative to your TLX
Also, trade the rims. I've seen the 19s sell for 1000-1200 used and you may be able to trade them for the stock rims which would help/not hurt your car in resale value.
Second the bluetooth adapter - this is the one I had on my 2006 TL that was stupid easy to install and worked perfectly. Displayed song artist/name, steering wheel controls worked, don't remember having volume problems like you described either.
Audio quality would be far better than a cassette adapter too. Gotta take advantage of that Bose system those cars come with!
Even though I did it, I'm not sure I did it the right way lol when I get home I'll give a few pointers so you can have a better start than me. I broke a few plastic tabs and that big panel doesn't sit exactly perfect anymore but unless you are looking for it you don't notice.
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00NMXMUW8/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_fabc_I.r1Fb33D0SG9?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
both of these links are for the same product but I've heard you don't get returns for the one you buy on Amazon. So it might be best to get it from crutchfield, the people that make it.
You should also get a set of plastic trim removal tools. I think you can get a pretty cheap set from harbor freight. That way you don't damage any plastics
I wouldn’t be sure what percentage, I bought it on amazon ( https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00K5527EW/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_jBAeBbQE2P817 ) and the description doesn’t say anything but light tint or dark tint. And to complete the look I Plasti dipped my emblems and the lip spoiler Picture
Damn, yeah I would just to get out there to fish more area. The one in my picture is a cheap-o Wal-Mart "Sun Dolphin Aruba 10" that gets the job done, $200 and came with a paddle, $20 for a life jacket.
For the cables, I actually just found this on Amazon - need something comparable. 8 or 4 gauge depending on watts. Here's a LOC on Amazon if you wanted to just get both there - but there's lots of options for both. Can see customer review pictures too to see how they're wired.
As for the tweeters/rear speakers, you won't lose them. You can even splice INTO the subwoofer signal wires instead of cutting and connecting them to the LOC, and you'll retain the factory subwoofer. Mine was blown though so I just cut the wires.
Here it is on Amazon, there’s quite a few listings for it at varying prices (this was the lowest I saw) but they are all the same.
Yeah, u/snaveleinad get one of these and be done with it. Here's the Amazon link:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00NMXMUW8/ref=ask_ql_qh_dp_hza
Here's my post about it from a year ago. I commented at the bottom about how it took all of 10 minutes to open my trunk, pull away the lining on the right side, and connect the Bluetooth receiver to the XM receiver (it comes with instructions). Was the best money I ever spent on that car and made streaming music & nav a breeze. Had a vent phone holder thing that held my phone above the OEM radio.
Well spotted. I bought the letters on Amazon for $11. The "Sport Mini Style" is an italic font that's .8" tall and it comes in black or chrome.
