If y'all want an inexpensive alternative to the magnetic pallettes, these are what I use in my kits. They're great because they still hold a good deal of pans but take up very little room. And at the price you can get a ton of them for the price of one makeup branded one. I probably have two dozen if them and absolutely love them.

I'm listening to Matthew Walker's book on how important sleep is (link for interested parties, highly recommend - I'm prioritizing getting 8-9 hrs a night now and its been amazing), and it's clear from the insane amount of research he's done that limited sleep negatively affects basically every single thing in your body and brain, from your ability to maintain a balanced emotional state over the course of the day to your immune system's ability to fight off cancer cells. In addition, caffeine has something like a 5 hour half life in the body, meaning that it takes your system 5 hours on average to flush out half of the caffeine you've consumed. If she's having even two giant sweet teas a day, there's no way shes getting the sleep she should be getting and it's definitely making her even more anxiety-ridden and stressed out than usual. I haven't ever watched her consistently, but I do like her, and it's been clear to me from watching off and on for a few years now that she doesn't take care of herself sleep-wise. Seems to me like that might now be literally making her crazy. I know she said in one of the Shane videos that she goes to Starbucks so often in part because she doesn't have friends and that's the only social thing she does all day. I want to shake her and tell her to find healthier outlets for herself! This lifestyle is terrible for her mental, physical, and emotional health and all of that is clearly wearing on her and showing in her videos.

Edit: I don't think her product is bad but it is priced high unlike claims it is not. Her launch and explanations are bullshit. Cheap Amazon foundation buffing brushes that work the same, if not better, than expensive brushes. I've spent $10 on these brushes and I've also gone out and spent $50 on 1 brush, but I always go back to these brushes.

These Muji cotton pads are almost exactly like the Shisheido ones (I have both) and are cheaper.

My favourite, however, are these Cosme store ones. They are softer and bigger than the Shisheido and are also unbleached. But they are hard to find over here. They are listed as $6 on Amazon but my local Asian Beauty store has them for $3.99 which is where I get them from.

For anyone super confused about WTF a preset is, it's just a fancy name for a filter, exactly how you upload a photo to Instagram and choose a filter. If you use ColorStory or similar apps, you'll know you can buy sets of filters grouped by theme. It's a Japanese brand that makes lots of shades (so many types of brown and funky shades like olive and burgundy pink), lasts through naps and some panic attacks, and has one of the smoothest brush tip applications I've ever tried. So I had the time today: Since the beginning of this year, she has created 47 videos on her main channel. 14 of these were sponsored. 3 of these sponsorships were with ExpressVPN, 3 with HelloFresh, 2 with Casetify, 2 with Audible and then the other ones with Prose, Felix Grey, Care/of, and Raycon. So she has worked with 8 companies in the span of 47 videos. To me, that doesn't seem wild or leaves a bad taste like you said. If you take that much time out of your day to produce content, it's not wild to get paid for it and none of the sponsorships were out of character and more than half were re-occurring ones. Now, do with that information what you will, but sometimes our perception of things is not actually based on facts.

I feel you sis. A few things that helps me keep grounded and not get lost in the spiral are:

a) washing my face and/or hands. It really puts me back in my body

b) keeping something smooth or cold like a stone in my pocket and just touching it

c) buying a shitton of those cheap squishies like these and just crushing the hell out of it when I start getting anxious

d) turning on the AC/ Fan to the highest setting and letting my body cool down

e) breathe in for 8 seconds, hold for 7, breathe out of 8

I think makes your makeup look smoother. I actually had to stop waxing all together back in January because I was having such bad reactions. I've been using a dermaplanning tool instead to remove hair and its been great! I feel like there is no difference between waxing and shaving as far as makeup application goes - same results!

These pricey meal prep containers from @katy. They’re dark grey/black and $20 for 4, but omg I deadass love them. The container is a really thick plastic and dark so it won’t stain or at least show the stain. I put them through a beating and they last. Plus it’s a deep set container so my more saucy stuff works. Additionally, the lid is fairly solid and has a vent you can pop up.

My favourite Revolution palette is Black is the New Black from their Makeup Obsessions subbrand - amazing for smokey or grungey looks, very pigmented, and has the best silver shimmer I own. Good for duping the Natasha Denona Xenon palette, but with more versatility.

I always skip every ad because I'm so sick of the same companies over and over again! Ana Luisa, Raycon, Adam&Eve, Hello Fresh, Honey, NordVPN, Audible... And the ads are always the same, no matter what kind of content i'm watching: beauty, the sims, streams, reacts, everyone just do the same thing all the time. I'm really glad that the creators are getting paid, but it reached a point where I can't take it anymore, so I just skip until the ad ends.

I agree. I tried to start watching him before the whole brand shitshow, and when I saw some videos were sponsored by one brand, it felt sus. I think it's a conflict of interest to be sponsored by skincare brands when all you do is skincare. I remember a whole video of one brand sponsoring the whole video, and personally I don't trust it. I want people to be honest and critical, and, with dollar signs, it's less common people do that. Don't get me wrong, people need sponsors sometimes, but I'm sure there are other brands that can sponsor you like NordVPN or something else that doesn't conflict with your ability to give honest feedback.

I hope you're aware that Techcrunch is owned by the Verizon, which has it's own vpn meaning it's written by competitors. If you're interested in this topic, you should at least put some effort and read more than one article or at least Nord's official statement. At the end of the day, the most important part is that users weren't even affected.

I mean, I watch a youtuber who does kinda sensitive stuff about shady business/communities/etc so they always have sponsors in case their video gets demonetized, and I laughed my ass off when I saw they had switched from Hello Fresh to Daily Harvest and the bit was pretty much the same (which I find even MORE hilarious considering I knew about Daily Harvest because of a video trashing their smoothie kind of deal where they just... Sent you... Frozen... Fruits. Which you could buy for way less in any grocery store lmao). What I mean to say is, there seems to be some overlap on some sponsors (DH and Hello Fresh, Surfshark and NordVPN, Skillshare and The Great Courses +, etc etc etc), and as long they're upfront and they get their coin, I don't really care if they advertise both lmao, if anything that's a mistake on the sponsor's part

I found out Holly was making videos last night when this tutorial came up in my recommended vids on YT, and I immediately subscribed. Bridget has a YouTube channel, but she hasn't posted in like 10 months. She has content that's very Bridget - lots of haunted house videos. That's one of the reasons I was an OG Bridget stan - I'm a goth, she loves haunted houses and Halloween, i can imagine being BFFs with her and going to haunted houses and dressing up in spooky costumes

This was the most annoying clickbait title to date. And then promoting Facetune of all things... I'm just so disappointed in her. I'm glad at least that she is upfront about her edits and transparent about how she does it. However, this does not mean that she should normalize editing your face into oblivion. She can lie to herself all she wants, but those are not light edits. She literally morphed her own face. This is so damaging in so many ways and all in all just disappointing and irresponsible. She's usually very careful when it comes to sponsorships and ads, so I cannot understand why she chose Facetune of all things. Why not ExpressVPN or Squarespace like everybody else? At least it's not damaging to her viewers...

Also wtf is up with these swirled shadows? (Or Huda's Petri dish shadow??????) They look unfinished to me, like you didn't blend the color properly before pressing it and then stuck it in a pallet anyway to not waste product.

Also also, this is genuinely the best outer packaging I've seen from Nikita and yet the lamest eyeshadow pallet ever. It looks like one of the 28 pan eyeshadow pallets from BH that you can get at Marshalls, sort of like this with a few slightly brighter colors.

I really like this one from Amara Organics that someone on SCA recommended to me. I’ve been using it for a year or so now. It absorbs super quick, and doesn’t feel greasy or gritty. Pretty cheap too.

My shoppers still has it for full price. They did not have the purple palette on clearance, only one specific colour. If you can't find it in your local drugstore, you can get it on amazon here for less than what they are selling for at shoppers.
