From the bottom of my heart and from my best wishes, i really seriously advise you to get a controller. Mostly recommended an Xbox 360 wired USB or an Xbox One latest gen (Bluetooth). Neither you or the game deserve to experience this on a keyboard.
Please, try your best with one of the suggestions above. Don’t ruin this incredible game. You will thank me later.
Here, a $16.99 good option at Amazon:

This is an optimization problem that happens if your PC isn't beastly enough (like mine). Hopefully it will get patched, but in the meantime there is a workaround. First, try lowering the graphics settings. You need to use less resources/processing power. If they are as low as they can go and it's still happening, do the following:
Find the engine.ini file in the configuration location described on this page https://pcgamingwiki.com/wiki/Bloodstained:_Ritual_of_the_Night (having trouble copy-pasting it from my phone)
At the end of the file, add two spaces and then add the following:
[ConsoleVariables]
r.ScreenPercentage=XXX
Where XXX is a number. This sets the internal rendering resolution. A value of 100 means don't change anything, just render at the same as the display resolution. A value of 50 will render at half the display resolution, and 200 would double it, basically providing more anti-aliasing. Anyway, start with 50 and adjust as needed. Unfortunately this is going to make the graphics a little blurry but at least it will be playable.
> "It's not like they can go modify Unreal Engine"
Really? From UE's website:
"Full C++ Source Code Included
With complete C++ source code access, you can study, customize and debug the entire Unreal Engine, and ship your project without obstruction."

It's a 2,5D Igavania game, not some hyperrealistic AAA title, it's not going to be measured in tens of gigabytes. Global average download speeds are these days 50Mbps+ and even mobile internet is around 25Mbps, so yes, most of people are going to be able to download it in a matter of minutes. If you don't want to pay for non-awful internet speeds, that's not Fangamer's or Steam's fault.
For those of us with decently good phones, the android version runs at full speed, ultra settings 90 fps and supports controller

Hi,
On the laptop I've been playing, the CotM fullscreen doesn't lag for me but I can't get back in if I alt+tab out, but I've had great success by using windowed mode + borderless gaming. You can download it at https://github.com/Codeusa/Borderless-Gaming/releases
Good luck!
It has many elements of the genre, but I wouldn't say Diablo is "primarily" a roguelike. For starters, it's way too forgiving!
I think the author of POWDER summed up the concept pretty well:
yup. they link to it on their official website as well!
Go for the sure thing. Get an Xbox 360 or Xbox One full USB controller replica, no wireless. Very cheap on Amazon and other places. These will always work on Windows 10 with no issues:

You’re welcome. There’s also a prequel graphic novel on Amazon called <em>Spirit’s Bloom</em> explaining how the character’s parents met (that will be a question you have as the series progresses). It also introduces the series’ antagonist. Well worth a read.
