Fill out this form for the Colorado Mask Project:
https://airtable.com/shryiLLA9VR0EaNQ6
It sends a request to all the Colorado-based volunteer mask sewing organizations including the one I'm a part of, Cover Up Colorado. If you're comfortable sharing the name of your nonprofit, I'll look out for your request when we divvy up next week.
It's gotta be really hard to be a teen in this climate. We can't go back to normal, because people will die. I know you already know that though, and it's just so shitty. I hear what you're saying about the frustration and stress. It's hard enough to be in middle school (if you ask any adult, I think they would agree that middle school is a tough time), let alone have to do this stuff with a global pandemic. It's 100% shit and nobody should disagree with that.
As an adult, I can tell you one thing (and btw - I'm giving myself advice here as I'm typing this because I need it too). This is a real-world version of the "marshmallow test". Step back one bit and take a look at yourself and how you want to manage the situation. You can either be a beacon for yourself or others, or you can go down the crapped-out road of depression. If you use this experience to check your own character, strength and resilience, you might be find that you have deep qualities that you didn't know existed. If you allow yourself just to pool in the "this sucks" mode, your brain will learn that when times get tough, the "this sucks" mode is the default. That's the equivalent of your brain sucking money out of your emotional bank account every time shit comes up in the future. Challenge that, and look back on this Covid crap as a time of immense growth and opportunity that will pay you over and over many years to come.
Also, check out Man's Search for Meaning. It's a book that explains exactly how to function in difficult times. If you ping me your info, I'll send you a copy.
For a sobering explanation on why, listen to the Colorado Medical Society's Physician Town Hall on COVID 19 from last night:
Around 29 minutes in a member of CDPHE gives an account of the PPE supplies for the state:
>I don't think there will be enough PPE. I don't think the supply chain will normalize. Last week we were given an allotment from the federal government. Colorado right now currently has 49k N95 masks, 115k surgical masks, 11k gloves (55k pairs), 22k face shields ...I anticipate getting additional supplies. I anticipate it will be about as much as we've gotten ...and that might be it. We really need to conserve what we have. Your state doesn't have anymore -- your local health agency certainly doesn't have any more."
The state is out. Supply chains are not expected to normalize any time soon.
Ideally, you want N95 and surgical mask together (N95 keeps bad things out, surgical mask keeps bad things in).
These are the best value I’ve seen, around a dollar each for reusable masks from a reputable manufacturer:
Gildan Reusable Adult Tie-On... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B086QS2YHF?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
The ties seem inconvenient at first, but after using them they have some benefits since
• They won’t bother your ears
• Won’t fall off
• Won't fall below your nose
• You can adjust the tightness to your liking
These are 100% cotton so easily washable and quite breathable.
Remind Me! 3 days
To rub it in your face. Oh don't even have to wait:
Coronavirus Updates: U.S. Cases Top 400,000 After Country Sees Single Deadliest Day
>The somber milestone came the day after the nation recorded nearly 2,000 deaths and marked its single deadliest day since the first U.S. fatality from the respiratory disease caused by the novel coronavirus was reported on Feb. 28.
Normalcy huh?
These are the masks I use when numbers are high and I think they look pretty cool:
3M N95 Respirator, VFlex... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B005KLZAYU?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
When numbers are low though, I use the Bluna FaceFit KF94's. They're not perfect on my face, but I've tried several makes and these are the best (and I hear the same from anyone I give them to).
Another preprint just came through with similar results: 40x reduction in neutralizing antibodies using Sweden sourced samples.
Not Pfizer-centric, either.

It is likely that recently boosted individuals will still be resistant, but now they really need that booster.
Anyone want to participate in a documentary?
I'm a documentary filmmaker creating a feature length film composed entirely of community video submissions submitted daily as the COVID-19 pandemic progresses. We are looking for people (anyone!) to submit daily or at least frequent short videos documenting and discussing their lives during this pandemic. Everyone is in this together but experiencing so many different things, so we want to use the power of cell phones and the internet to create a global picture of how humans are fighting and coping with COVID-19.
More about the film via our sign-up page: https://airtable.com/shrMT5PyLJ8QpDFJR
PLEASE feel free to ask questions, I want to be transparent. I may not be prompt, but I will answer any questions I can. We have applications in with the International Documentary Association for fiscal sponsorship, and have a pending application for a National Geographic COVID-19 journalism grant.
My heart goes out to everyone fighting this; we're in this together.
If this is legitimate, the researchers must surely understand this is not a scientifically valid survey. But my bigger concern is that there's on proof that the researchers mentioned are connected to the survey on forms.office.com, nor is there proof that the online survey is connected to the person who posted this.
Even more worrying: The profile that posted this was just created yesterday, and has done nothing except post this survey to about 15 similar subs. And most of those posts have already been deleted by moderators.
Something fishy is going on here. A legitimate medical science researcher would use a traceable account, and would host the survey on the website of their university or hospital.
My advice: Don't take the survey.
Headspace meditation app has a “Weathering the Storm” free section with meditation and physical exercises you can check out.

This is weird times but you can use this time to do something positive in your life. Read a book, start in home exercising, pick up a hobby off YouTube or learn something interesting.
I went through a freak out period and I’m sure others did as well so you are not alone. I really had to just limit my corona news intake and look at things that I can control close to me.
Serious question, but how this any better than the map out out by Johns Hopkins University?

Hahaha, if you'd like, send me a PM! I'm totally down for messaging, video dates and Netflix parties. :)
Edit: Netflix party for those who are interested in watching movies with friends or dates digitally. You can also play board games on digital apps too. It doesn't have to be all boring...

Happy cake day!
The kid is a borderline terrorist. That "friend" that got picked up made pipe bombs. Not only that the shit he is saying fucked, this kid is beyond mentally ill and delusional. He should not own a firearm. He thinks that the government is going to come into his home to kill him in his sleep for just for owning firearms. He wants to start firefights over the cops coming to question him over the people hes friends with, and organized a "rally" with, again who built pipe bombs. Then organizes people to defend him from his shitty actions, and try to start a fire fight over this. Yeah fuck that, and fuck this kid/his friends. This kid is so far gone it's not even funny, and needs to have his firearms taken away, and put through some serious therapy.
That Hawaiian shirt thing he talks about is because hes part of a far right crazies. There isn't getting anything through to this kid, hes fucked in the head. Bring awareness to this isn't a circle jerk, or shitty. Defending this kid is fucking shitty, defending this mental ill kids rights to own fire arms is shitty. Not calling this kid out for what he is, and is doing is shitty. Letting crazy terrorists children play operator in suburbs, while risking innocent people having a bullet come throw their window and kill their kids is shitty. Not making sure these kids, and their friends continue to do what they are doing is shitty. Enjoy defending terrorists some more.
You could add numbers to something like this instead of using the the religious and secular Christmas themed calendars and put little trinkets in the drawers. I’m not sure how much prepper themed stuff you can fit in such little drawers aside from batteries, though. What a weird and thoughtful gift!
Buy a gallon of isopropyl off of Amazon and make your own disinfectant wipes and hand sanitizer. For me as one dude this is easily like 6 months worth of both of the aforementioned.
https://www.amazon.com/Isopropyl-Alcohol-IPA-99-9-Purity/dp/B08CVSCKNP/
Shit is going to get wild; use this time to buy shit online while you can.
if you are looking for a stationary bike for an apartment - I can recommend this one: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B007595TKU/
My wife and I relocated from downtown to our cabin in the beginning of this. We used to live walking distance to a planet fitness, but don't anymore (not that we'd be going right now...). We are in a 720 sq/foot cabin (not much room) but this bike fits behind a door in a corner when we aren't using it.
When folded, it only takes 22” L x 20” W x 55.5” H. It is nice and heavy (substantial). It does not wobble or shake at all when you are on it - feels as stable as a gym bike and the workout is as good.
For elliptical workouts we use this: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000VICRO8 - it works well (this product lasts about 1 to 1.5 years before something invariably gives out it seems, we use it almost daily). It gives a very decent cardio workout, low impact - really low if you use it sitting down (I use it free standing myself).
Both of these fit out of the way nicely when we are not using them and neither broke the bank too much. My wife (she is 5'3", reviews have said people shorter than her may have a problem reaching the pedals - but it works great at the lowest adjustment level for her) loves the bike, I prefer the elliptical and we just roll them out when needed (bike is very easy to move on little rollers it has) and hide them away when we are done.
I know that doesn't solve your gym problem, but it could give you the bike exercise you need in a very small footprint.
I have many of these gators --> https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B088KBLRVK/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o04_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
They are tight around my face, looped over my ears, and additionally I fold them over into two layers. I cut a second set of ear-holes on the bottom of the gator and fold it up inside itself. I've done the "hold up to a light test" and it's true you can see light through a single layer, but doubled up is totally light-tight and also tight around my face. This has to be better than the loose fitting home-made masks I see people wearing around town.
