I know :) - really hard to pull off though. Project FarCry wanted to do that but rebuilding everything. I think this FCFort Mod shows the right way, using the crysis assets (huts etc) and only building what really needs to be done. I am going that way in my own mod FarCry reloaded and I think it can be done by merging the FarCry heightmaps and adapting to survive the workload.

I want to have Crysis as a true singleplayer game located in the FarCry Islands and with Trigens instead of the aliens. Fwiw I am working on a mod that will try to do create a dark and gritty Crysis meets FarCry scenario. Rewriting the story and linking the nano soldier to the original FarCry.

It will take until 2020 to get done and its on moddb FarCry reloaded for anyone who might be interested in playing this.

Extreme Immersive Mod

It has number of great features, including bullet time, new hud and graphical improvements. All of the features can be configured and/or disabled.

I started playing campaign with EIM + Natural Mod (included) yesterday with 3d hud off on Delta-difficulty. And it is fun :)

edit: Casus Belli is a total conversion mod to change Crysis Wars to a Battlefield-like multiplayer experience without nanosuit.

Great talk - thanks for that, love the swimming tortoise, vehicle 3rd person view, J drop weapon key, tank woes, SCARce ammo etc that you brought up. Always nice to hear some talk about the best FPS ever (right after FarCry 1 that is :) You might like this teaser I made from Reddit comments on Crysis 1.

I don't think bitterness and hate have much to do with the discussion, if there is one.

The Crysis AI is fine and the nearest you can get to systemic but of course useless to crytek and modders who can only think in terms of chaining action bubble encounters to tell an evolving story to a player forced to help telling it. Crysis 1 was a very special and outstanding game even though they ruined it with linearity and their obsession to bring multiplayer nanny social to a singleplayer campaign. FarCry 1 went the same way in a less annoying way but still one has to marvel at the idiocy of throwing away the game of the century by glueing Doyle to the players ear and telling him "go there, do this, and look! that is what you see". All other players don't see that as an Issue though. I would probably watch Crysis 2 and 3 if I was into TV shows. As for Crysis 1 and FarCry 1 - since no one is going to do anything about that I will fix them myself for the minority of tropical empty beach aficionados.

That being said plus Last no least - congrats on getting the XBOX 360 nano edition of Crysis dear Saurogon. Enjoy, and don't let anyone tell you otherwise. :)

Selling copyrighted code is illegal... If you sell anything that contains the copyrighted code in it, that's illegal.

If however, what you sell contains only your original code, you are in the clear, full stop. There are no if, ands, or buts.

I want no aliens, no JSOC, no 'movie' gameplay, no pop up nag objectives, no scripted battles, no area triggers, no AI buddies for starters. What I want is jungle, islands, caves and hidden Krieger Corp labs that hold terrifying things down in the dark with a couple of top notch mercs sprinkled across the countryside. Crysis 1 graphics and gameplay mechanics suit me fine. I want Nomad and I don't want to hear him, thank you. The rest of the cast of the Crysis universe can die in a fire including Doyle and Valerie from FarCry 1, except for Psycho who is the new Crowe of course. I will honour Jack and put his bones somewhere in the level where he made his final stand against a Trigen but that is it.

You are not alone. Crysis is the best FPS ever made. Even though they ruined the game for profit and made it linear and predictable. Part 2 and 3 don't count since they are videos. Warhead is nice. The only thing that is going to be better than Crysis is FarCry reloaded which I am working on, no worries.

4908 is the number of one of the Trigen holding areas inside lab zero from the forthcoming epic adventure FarCry reloaded which will merge FarCry and Crysis by getting rid of ... the Ceph, amongst other things. No, you won't have to assemble your nano suit en route - it comes fully functional right from the start and we throw in an assault scope, no need to nick one from the Koreans. I second bakamoney - play on delta. The AI is not networked and relies on area triggers a lot. They are also often disabled on level load to keep framerates low and sometimes their flowgraph does not kick in at the right time or at all - that happens. However you can adjust your playstyle and try out all sorts of ways to progress and I guarantee, you will find so much fun and amazing encounters - the replay value of Crysis 1 is unrivaled to this day (that would mean the levels contact, recovery, relic, assault, onslaught and awakening - 1-6). I am working on a project that will try to network the AI, have no cutscenes, no areatriggers, no nag objectives and I will look into fixing the "where did that bullet hit", "walk over to that burning barrel about to explode" and other AI issues. You are also going to enjoy Warhead I believe :)

Plus some I would build myself in the reloaded project. The Crysis/Cryengine2/Sandbox2 licenses are pretty clear on what is allowed as long as "access" to the final result is free. I checked that with Cryteks business department when someone over at their forum allegedly voiced concerns about my project. At the end of the day this would be a custom level (or 12 of them) loading inside the Crysis PC version of the game. Blogging about what I do with the sandbox 2 editor that came with the game ... You might have a point if this thing went viral and tens of thousands of Crysis fans would start donating (oh, wait... :) but that is not going to happen I think - options to shut a free mod down only come if I would use Patreon or Kickstarter etc etc. Sure, they might kick it off the Cryengine forums but they could do that simply for being off topic and using a deprecated engine ... :) So far the reloaded thread there is ok with the staff fwiw. I think a remaster of farcry in cryengine 1 is a great Idea and will keep in touch and PM you but I am sticking with my project until they sue me. And I appreciate you pointing out the possible pitfalls. I might be wrong too, would not be the first time.

I have the retail CD version running on my Windows 10, using the 64bit executable too.

Made sure to install all the updates and then set the crysis.exe file to run in Windows Vista SP2 compatibility mode.

I did notice while testing my nephew's new PC today, if you don't have a keyboard or mouse plugged into the PC Crysis won't load. Just flashes back to desktop before the videos load at the beginning.

I also noticed that if I try to run it on my 4K screen at higher than 1920*1200 resolution via HDMI, it will set the refresh rate to 24hz!! I got round that by using a program called Windowed Borderless Gaming to force it to run fullscreen borderless window mode. Now I can play it at 60hz refresh rate at 4k :D

But I'd recommend you to use this mod - I myself use it, there are really nice weapons and DSG1 shot sounds way better than normal one.
