Don't take the following as trying to say "it's your fault" but:
- Mixing mdma/mda/cannabis/alcohol with DMT, can for sure influence heavily the trip, not necessarily in a good way.
- A first experience with 40mg is maybe not the wisest decision neither as it's easily a breakthrough dose
- Not knowing what to expect (not letting go, entities, etc.) can also explain why you partially freaked out.
If you want to try again someday (I think you should if you feel ready at some point), you should really pay attention to the set & setting, be in a calm place, not mixing other drugs etc.
I hope you'll feel better soon, give it a few days to integrate what happened.
OP, check out "When Breath Becomes Air" by Paul Kalinithi. It's a raw account of a neurosurgeon who discovers he has terminal lung cancer and so he documents the finals chapters of his life. It's incredibly profound to read the thoughts of a man who comes to accept his impending doom. As someone who is incredibly afraid but curious of their own mortality, this book really made an impact on me.
I wouldn't necessarily look for breakthrough on your first travel (which can occur for some people with 25/30mg).
Maybe taste the water with 15mg, and if you feel comfortable, then move up to 30mg.

Most people say that it's a good idea to start with Changa as it's more gentle, grounded than the freebase DMT.
I personnally had my first experiences with Changa and had quite interesting travels, even if no breakthrough, I'll soon try some freebase DMT and will therefore be able to compare it to Changa.
Regarding the smoking method, the nice thing with changa is that you can just fire it up like weed, tobacco, etc. and doesn't have to worry about burning it like freebase DMT: just fire it, inhale, keep it as long as you can (at least 10 / 15 seconds) and you'll be gone in one minute.

I would tie the origins of the War on Drugs in the US to the Christian crackdown on use of plants and sacred ceremonies all around the world for centuries. Peyote was the first drug made illegal here in the US. Mushrooms in Mexico. The witch hunts in Europe and America. I would recommend Brian Muraresku’s book The Immortality Key: The Secret History of the Religion with No Name for more on this. Basically, drugs have been associated with anyone who is different. And people who think differently scare us.

Everyone keeps suggesting Cyb's Ion Tek to me, but it just seems like a lot of extra work for not much payoff. Also, I like to do bigger batches, and as far as I can tell, Cyb's is only good for small amounts.

I use this to heat the water. It allows me to have a more precise temperature, and I don’t even need to use the stove.
The warmer you set the temperature, the more fat you’ll pull (the dmt will be more yellow than white).
Anywhere between 100f and 150f is fine. I set mine at 135f for the whole process.
For a warm pull, I usually pour room temperature naphtha in the warm soup, the naphtha gets warmer over time in the soup.
This Erlenmeyer Flask is great for 50g extractions, and has a rubber stopper that seals for safe rotation. It is also budget friendly.
When using a jar (which I do not suggest using), NEVER apply heat directly to the glass. If using a double boiler or crock pot, put shoe laces/socks/wash cloths under the jar that is submerged in the hot water to prevent the glass from breaking.
Also, ditch the ziplock bag. You can go to Walmart and get the toppers for Mason jars, the extraction vessel has to seal so that you can turn it end over end.

I used to love weed until, like you, it just became a burden: always leading to anxiety, completely foggy, brain just fucked up ... until it even made me sick and I said enough is enough, and I stopped it (it was not that easy though).
Regarding your question, changa in my opinion can't be compared to weed regarding the "negative" side effects I just mentioned. In my personnal case I never went to the breakthrough with Changa, I only had medium experiences and they were quite interesting.

You might have already read this here, but if not I'll repeat: DMT give you the experience you need, not necessarily the one you want.

I don't know if your Benzo medication contains SSRI, but please pay attention that Changa contains MAOI's and you should not smoke Changa if you're still using them as it might be really dangerous.
This is not applicable if you just go for the freebase DMT (that you vape) as there is not MAOI's and no risk of interaction with antidepressants / SSRI's.

From the different posts I read about extraction process, I think the average yield is around 1 to 1.5% of the original weight.
So let's say you want to do an extraction (with 50gr of root bark), you could expect a result of 500mg to 750mg, it's an estimation of course which also depends on the technique.
But that would still allow you to have quite some travels ! 🙏

I also saw the wheel you speak of but mine wasn't malevolent. Maybe i didn't sense its malevolence because I was protected from the ritual I performed before my journey. (I say a protective prayer and light cedar wood before my explorations) I did a quick search on the Aztec gods and This is what I found. It's the closest image of what I saw and his name is Huitzilopochtli. He was their sun & war god. They would offer blood sacrifice to this deity in return for flourishing crops and civil prosperity. The dominating temple in the sacred Aztec capital Tenochtitlan had 2 towers at its top and one tower was dedicated to the sun god while the other was dedicated to the god of rain. They often performed human sacrifice at the peak of the pyramid by tying the alive human down and using an obsidian knife to carve out the beating heat, decapitating the victim, and then sawing off his limbs. The parts were then all thrown down the massive staircase to the ground where the worshipers would observe and praise the god. It makes sense that they would perform such morbid sacrifice to these gods as the Aztecs relied much on agriculture for their sustenance, and agriculture cannot flourish without sun and rain. Certainly these deities do not exist, imho, but maybe the evil attached to these figures is what presented the negative cluster of energy in hyperspace. As I've mentioned in a previous reply, everything we think comes to existence, and with millions of Aztecs giving their energy and consciousness to this deity, they very well could have created a negative "poltergeist" in the lower realms of higher dimensions. Though don't go around killing native trees just so you can get high/trip out. If you can't sustainably harvest from them without jeopardizing the trees health, then don't. Only harvest the leaves and small twig branches.
Taking the roots and trunk bark can very easily kill the tree.

You haven't mentioned your dosage at all, and in your response to /u/Swimsdoseydoses you refer to an amount "the size of a pinhead" as though that's an accurate description of a dose.
Forgive me for assuming the worst, but you yourself admitted to smoking it off tinfoil, so I have to ask if you are weighing your dose at all? It could be that you're taking obscene amounts of dmt, which won't end well. If you don't already own a milligram accurate scale, I'd recommend the Gemini scale from Amazon. If you're apprehensive, start with a dose of 10-15mg. You'll get visuals broadly in line with the comedown/afterglow of an "average" lsd trip :)
My advice is to invest in a good IR thermometer. ETEKCITY branded ones are affordable and they do the job really well. You can get one that reads up to 380℃ for $16 from Amazon.
I personally don't know the correct temperature for dabbing DMT as I only use full convection vaporisation, but having the IR thermometer will allow you to learn the best temperature and apply it consistently to get the same result every time.

You can swirl in a circle to get the same effect as turning end over end. In my experience, as long as you press the rubber stopper into the vessel enough, it will seal fine. I have on one occasion had it leak slightly out of the rubber stopper, it was because it was bone dry when I stuck it on the top. If you use your (glove covered) fingers to wet the stopper with a little bit of water, it will go in more than half way and seal perfectly.
There is also the option of getting a flask that has a glass stopper, or a borosilicate media bottle which has a safe screw top. This will probably be the preferred option, and my next purchase.

I use PIA (Private Internet Access) as my VPN. Super cheap per year and you can add it to three devices. I have it on my phone but it slows down the processing a bit and I’m not actually sure how it scrambles an IP address when I am using the cellular network. I would just use a computer to be safe.

- Mindfulness in Plain English - If I could pick a book by which introduce someone, this would be the book. It does a very good job building up initial motivation and giving you very accurate lay of the land.
- The Mind Illuminated - This is one of the latest book that does fantastic job explaining everything in having a concise and rich system explained in down to earth language. It might be the only book meditator needs to get from novice to advanced practitioner.
- Mastering the Core Teachings of the Buddha, An Unusually Hardcore Dharma Book - Daniel is great, the book is a collection of invaluable Insights about practice, the pitfalls, the philosophy. He's also very approachable. There was some time when people found him a little controversial. This is because Daniel is quick to point out shortcomings of dogmatic thinking and not afraid to point out the obvious.
- Beyond Mindfulness in Plain English - The continuation of the first book, but it goes into more advanced topics. Mostly Jhanas. Advanced territory that is very rewarding, although personally I only got the taste but have not mastered these.
Also, I'd very much recommend getting a little app called Insight Timer. It's fantastic. It makes you feel as if you are a part of community of meditators. It helps you practice in streaks by having a system of rewards. I am always mind blown how many users of this application meditate daily for over a year. Really cool achievement if you think about it.

I've been happy with my knockoff version, the gem 20. It works much better than whatever random one I had before which was very accurate at larger weight but struggled in the sub 50mg range whereas my gem scale has worked perfectly.
Well the placebo effect is to do with the first phase response. We seem to have semi-conscious control over it. The same way that lowering your fever with medicine can have a benefit to your health, lowering it because you believe you’re being helped can have a possitive (or negative) effects. There’s a good book on it, Placebo: Mind Over Matter in Modern Medicine. There are links to our mood, so part of the first phase response is dull, slow pain for stomach ache, which makes us lie down and beg/whine for help. The book explains it better, but depression and stomach pain are very similar. So our thoughts do change things in ourselves. But control of our body should not be misunderstood as control of the universe.
As for your second example, I’ve never heard of that expiriment. I would however suggests that you should look deeper into the physical processes involved rather than trying to generalise them to universal truths.

Even messing around with an inaccurate mg scale can get you pretty far out, this one picks up the small 2-3mg changes that a lot of less sensitive models don't. My last scale would only update if I dumped like 10-mg at a time and even then it wasn't actually accurate.
You just need a 0.000g scale. They aren’t even that expensive. I linked the one I currently have here , ive had it for 8 months, it’s still working perfectly, I use it for DMT, 2-CB, Coke, Ketamine, pretty much anything, and it’s accurate. All for $10. Best of luck bro
You should check out "Nonduality: In Buddhism and Beyond" by David Loy. Best analysis of the problem of duality and how it is solved by various traditions. Goes well beyond just acknowledging that it might not be just all in your head, with references to various practices and good reasoning throughout.
I understand your concern, but honestly as long as you're just following the advice given, you'll be absolutely fine. Just make sure not to leave the spent bottle of goo laying around for the kids to get into...it's still a +12 ph mixture, and can cause severe burns with prolonged skin contact. If you get any on you it's not the end of the world (I've gotten some on my skin before...) just flush immediately with water and then with the bottle of vinegar you should have for the tek. But like, use goggles and dish-gloves please...or some 7-8mm nitrile gloves. Safety is cheap...medical bills are not.

To reiterate. You'll go through a few mixing / heating cycles. When mixing, screw then cap on tight, and very gently roll and slosh the mixture around as described. When heating...use a pot of water on a stove, and get it up to the desired temperature first...then shut the stove off, unscrew the cap of the bottle enough to break the seal and let air out, and put it in the hot/warm water for the time-interval described in the tek.
No! Cheap scales like that one aren’t accurate enough (especially if you plan on doing any 5-MeO but even if you don’t). You need to spend at least $40 on the Gemini-20 (which looks like this one, so it’s probably what a lot of people are thinking of when they say it works great) or the Feedron Jewelers Scale. Otherwise, you’ll only get accuracy to within 3-5mg, which isn’t enough.

It’s legit accurate to within 2mg, which is better than almost any of the other so-called “milligram scales” (which are usually only accurate to 3-5mg). And you have the option of plugging it in or using batteries. The only thing I don’t like is that it beeps when you hit buttons.
Also get some small anti-static, narrow spout powder pans for weighing and pouring.

It can be off by up to 5mg, however, anything cheaper, even if it displays in the single mg range, isn't likely to be any more accurate. Made harder as I don't think a lot of people actually bother to test their DMT scales.

This is why I use a water flosser, if you want completely healthy gums, use a water flosser twice a day, stop using tiny ropes in your mouth like the smallest spelunker.
It's for the experienced for sure. If you have experience with K holes the body sensations is similar. Now that I can sit in the body high and enjoy it I find salvia highly euphoric. The trip itself is actually very easily mentally and ive never had any issues mentally, but there have been times where the body high is beyond intense I question if I'm actually splitting in half and twisting in circles or not.
I like 20x normal but have gone as high as 80x. 20x is plenty to try small doses and large doses. I reccomend purple sticky brand.
There are many levels of the entities, and they are quite consistent between people.

Anyway, I’m not sure who convinced you that you need flat bottom flasks. But it’s not true. Round bottom flasks work best for heat dissipation.
All that said, I did add a flat bottom flask to my distillation setup. But mostly for larger amounts of liquid. The only difference I’ve seen is flat bottom takes longer to heat and it doesn’t heat evenly as well.
And just FYI- the round bottom flasks don’t need a candle or bunson burner. I put it directly on my heat pad and it works great.
I recover 90%+ of all the solvents I use for various things.. It’s sure nice to get back expensive solvents like methanol or chloroform, or 195 proof Everclear. Even my Naphtha and Hexane are distilled and recycled. It only takes about an hour to recover a pint or more, usually.

Use with harmalas! I would try it but save the vast majority of that cart for when the harmalas arrive. Harmalas turn carts into a sometime frustrating medium into an ideal tool. Smaller, very controlled doses is exactly what you want for “vaporhuasca” (use of vaped DMT after oral ingestion if MAOIs like harmalas, which are safer, reversible MAOIs or “RIMAs”, Reversible Inhibitor of MonoAmine (oxidase))

I opted for a different system since to truly make distillate you need a distiller (obviously lol) so I ended up going with either QWUISO into the Source Turbo (I'm wondering if the Source might work with processing DMT too? But I have no knowledge there) or with a Rosin Press into the electric stirrer with added terpenes and a carrier oil.

That sounds like it could be but I am not entirely sure.
You could probably start a journal and key the energy that way, usually with time they reveal their names to you through synchronicity. Keep your mind open and keep looking for answers.
It's possible that the activated kundalini energy in your spine started at the root and now it is moving into the sacral chakra. If I were in your shoes I would meditate on it and see what you get, feel for the energy and see if you can bring it upwards.
There are many names for shakti and many different ways that she makes herself known so I wouldn't focus on one aspect of her, but all of the forms which is called "Adi Parashakti or Mahadevi". If your kundalini is activated you'll need to do a lot of meditation and grounding exercises to keep it under control - but the cool thing is you can get siddhis from this energy as well as increased creativity.
If this does end up being kundalini, I would look up Mary Mueller Shutan books - she has one specifically on kundalini and how to work through the whole process. Mine isn't activated and I never got into kundalini - so this is about as much info as I have on the subject but I hope it helps somewhat!
