Because someone is going to ask: The light is a pretty cool remote controlled ball lamp I bought here
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B076J8LRQD/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
and I hot glued a clear piece from my kids marble run to it.
After seeing These pool lights, I got the idea to start this project. Ordered it hoping it would be easily taken apart, and thankfully it was.
Materials used:
-That pool light and all its internal components
-A dremel for nearly all the cutting and shaping
-90 degree 1" PVC elbow from Lowe's (the handle)
-25c bouncy ball (cut in half for the base of the handle)
-A plain white bucket (cut the side out of it and shaped it to use for the back of the light)
-Black Krylon paint
-Hot glue
-More hot glue
-Aluminum 3M tape
To get a better idea of what it looks like on the inside, here's a WIP picture I took in the middle of putting it together yesterday: https://i.imgur.com/Ritjyv3.jpg
The reflective tape was put on to help reflect the light inside more as well as block light from going through. A bit was cut around the edges to help the hot glue bond later.
The control board there was what was included with the light. Since I didn't take any of it apart, I kept the button (you can see it on the handle), a charging port (mounted in the middle), and full RGB capability still usable with the remote. The glossed dome was put over it to diffuse the light even more before putting the rest of the dome on.
Yes, in German he says: "Wo ist Bartosz und die Anderen?". It directly translates to that subtitle. It seems that in German, "die Anderen", though translates to "the others", can also be translated to "the rest" (see https://www.dict.cc/deutsch-englisch/die+Anderen.html)
So maybe the translation should be "Where's Bartosz and the rest?" without specifically implying more than one person...
I know it sounds sketchy, but could as well be.
Check out Christian Bull's "The Tradition of Hermes Trismegistus". The book is available online in PDF form. Study it along with the texts in Hermetica by Brian Copenhaver, Hermetica 2 by David Litwa, and the Hermetic fragments in the Nag Hammadi Library. Avoid any and all books with "Atlantis" or "Pharaohs" in the titles.
Most of the book I cited can be downloaded for free with a free membership here: https://z-lib.org
The text you cited is the Kore Kosmou, one of the Hermetic texts collected in Litwa's book (SH 23). Hermeticism is now largely understood to have been a combination of ancient Egyptian religion with Middle Platonism. It was formed by Egyptian priests between 100 BC and about 300 AD. Interestingly, the foundational text--The Poimandres--does not mention Hermes at all. It is likely that the visionary in the text was the priest who first formed the Hermetic form of Middle Platonism, and then later Hermetic writers retroactively made Hermes the author of the Poimandres (As in Corpus Hermeticum Book 13).
All the Hermetic texts date to between 100 BC and 400 AD. But there are "technical" Hermetica--including Astrological texts, which date back to 200 BC or so.
I ordered it on Amazon years ago. Looks like they still have it now https://www.amazon.com/Silence-Blu-ray-Ulrich-Thomsen/dp/B00CHYSPCM/ref=mp_s_a_1_2?dchild=1&keywords=the+silence+baran+bo+odar&qid=1621477223&sprefix=the+silence+bar&sr=8-2
There is another thread from a couple of weeks ago that discusses where to buy the yellow rain jacket, however I think it's a German company.
Here's one on Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/Sci-Fi-Dark-Costume-Yellow-Raincoat/dp/B07DFMQ68M
If you Google "yellow rain jacket Dark series" you'll get lots of hits under "shopping".
I used desmos to design this and used 4 full circles with movable center points. For the inner arcs I restricted the x and y values on the circles. Link to the design here.
I can imagine the resonance being an indicator for what world or time they are in. Changing\growing as time goes on, since the creation to the end.
Like this https://mynoise.net/NoiseMachines/whiteNoiseGenerator.php
Or it could be an auditory representation or the radiation seeping through the cracks into the cave and into the town.
There often is a number of words to chose from, when you translate a text. I am German, but once worked as an assistant to the British Managing Director of a plant being freshly established here. He never understood, why e. g. employment contracts could not simply be put in google translate and took me some time to get the wording right. You can just check the potential translations for Pfarrer here: https://www.dict.cc/deutsch-englisch/Pfarrer.html. There is a whole list to chose from, varying depending on the context. Context tends to be important for proper translations, which is why simultaneously taking part in meetings and translating for the Managing Director used to be nothing short of challenging. Imagine doing that, while a conversation concerning the fire protection requirements is ongoing. The devil is in the details. Also, local requirements greatly differ. He thought, he could casually conduct drug tests in the plant. No sir, not in Germany!
Ok few points i forgot to mention before: 1. I know this one was made custom for the show and there is no official replica- therefore im searching for an unofficial replica that is not total crap (found this link that looks the most legit as of now) https://www.amazon.com/Sci-Fi-Dark-Costume-Yellow-Raincoat/dp/B07DFMQ68M?th=1&psc=1
I know about the charity raffle for the jacket and donated 2bucks- i am not expecting anything but at least i helped a little with the charity and if i get it, well I won't.
I found alot of replicas online but all of them use the same pictures and i really wouldn't like to give my money to some scamming dirtbag so im just wandering if anyone got an actuall good replica.
I know about the German raincoats but like a friendly fellow said a little different detail would drive me balistic and i also wouldn't feel as good in the jacket.
Thanks for all the kind comments thoe, i apreciate it :)
Here you can read the preview on Amazon, the story is weird, to me it doesn't make any sense. It mentions Charlotte and Adam Kahnewald. Noah is the boyfriend of Charlotte, not of Elizabeth like in the show. Maybe it's about the Alt-world, but to me that seems weird too, because of Adam.
FYI: this is a notebook, not the actual book. I bought it on Amazon DE: https://www.amazon.de/Eine-Reise-durch-die-Zeit/dp/B084DGWL9Y/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?dchild=1&keywords=eine+reise+durch+die+zeit&qid=1589300069&sprefix=eine+reise&sr=8-1
I’ve been reading (actually have put it down for a bit) Godel Escher Bach, an Eternal Golden Braid By Douglas Hofstadter. I found it on this sub a while ago, apparently the design stems from this book, or it can be seen as similar to the time book in DarK.
I highly recommend the book to anyone interested. I haven’t read a whole lot yet but it’s quite interesting. (Please excuse this attempt at a description of it) The book is largely about patterns, symmetry, fixed formal rules, and eventually how they can relate to the world around us. It starts with basic mathematic concepts then dives deeper, and looks at ‘meaning’ we assign to various things.
I should really pick it back up, especially considering now is such a good time for a read.
Gödel, Escher, Bach: An Eternal Golden Braid https://www.amazon.com/dp/B001C3E5NW/ This is a much more expensive version for some reason, but I shared this one for the cover graphic as well. There are cheaper listings on amazon.
