These guys are fucking idiots. Arguably some of the worst people to inform yourself about AI.
20 minutes in and they still scramble to complete a sentence or provide a concrete example in response to your questions.
Check out the book Superintelligence by Nick Bostrom, or Artificial Intelligence: A Modern Approach (3rd Edition) by Stuart J. Russell and Peter Norvig. Both are a bit dense and may require some rereading but are very good to get your feet wet.
For something FAR less comprehensive, check out the waitbutwhy blog posts found right here. That guy also has a pretty good post on the idea Destiny had about chipping a human to interface with machines, based on Musk's Neurolace tech.
Companies generally don't make decisions based on personal feelings. Not ruling this out but its possible they just wanted people who could maximize viewership across different verticals and they already got DPAK for the politics viewers.
You can tell from the people that they invited that they went for diversity across different genres.
Also take a look at their last announcement and how they have the streamer category under each participant.

Basically, exactly what he did to Destiny a while back. He took a 2 minute chunk of Hughes's YouTube video, and without transforming it in any way uploaded it directly to his own YouTube channel.
From the lawsuit...
Also, you can see for yourself. Here's the video that Sargon uploaded to his channel that he's defending as fair use. https://www.minds.com/archive/view/646793798914945036

https://www.amazon.com/Race-Wrongs-Remedies-Politics-Economics/dp/0742562867
>Black Americans continue to lag behind on many measures of social and economic well-being. Conventional wisdom holds that these inequalities can only be eliminated by eradicating racism and providing well-funded social programs. In Race, Wrongs, and Remedies, Amy L. Wax applies concepts from the law of remedies to show that the conventional wisdom is mistaken. She argues that effectively addressing today's persistent racial disparities requires dispelling the confusion surrounding blacks' own role in achieving equality.
>The evidence overwhelmingly suggests that discrimination against blacks has dramatically abated. The most important factors now impeding black progress are behavioral: low educational attainment, poor socialization and work habits, drug use, criminality, paternal abandonment, and non-marital childbearing. Although these maladaptive patterns are largely the outgrowth of past discrimination and oppression, they now largely resist correction by government programs or outside interventions. Wax asserts that the black community must solve these problems from within. Self-help, changed habits, and a new cultural outlook are, in fact, the only effective tactics for eliminating the present vestiges of our nation's racist past.

one of the top comments:
> One of my political science professors pointed out that the Nazi party was a right wing creation. I raised my hand and asked how this could be the case if they identified themselves as socialists. My professor shut down the conversation by telling me I hadn't paid close enough attention to the reading and refused to discuss it further. Now, thirty years later, that conversation finally makes sense.
>Because low-income students already pay less, the subsidy they would receive through a “free college” program that fills in the gaps between published tuition and fees and existing grant aid is smaller.
Exactly what I expected to find. It seems like Elizabeth's program is a move towards universalization just because we already subsidize the poor significantly.
I used to have Destiny's (and maybe your) position on subsidization for college, but I changed my mind after reading The New Geography of Jobs. America needs so many more college educated students as evidence by the wage premiums for college degrees continues to go up. If cheaper college means more will go to college, then that investment is worth it. We will make way more back from taxes from these people who double their salary and create more demand for service workers.
We also need to expand college educated immigration massively, but of course that won't happen anytime soon.

i guess you're assuming the "by own" part because the article is featured on Quillette, but ben burgis is by no means in the same camp as IDW peeps like JP, nor was he ever
his career, especially now with his upcoming book, is oriented to provide direct opposition to them
Well, considering you're the resident JBP grand wizard you could hit him up on Twitter or Curious Cat and really challenge him on his mistake. He supposedly sees his stuff on this subreddit so hopefully if you can manage a well thought out response rather than just making claims you'll get a reply
There are 10 unique letters, so all digits are used. If we assume that F isn't 0 cause that would be some cuck shit, and knowing that the sum of a 4-digit and 5-digit long number gives us a 6-digit long number.
Therefore S has to be 9, F has to be 1, and R has to be 0.
Which narrows everything down to 7!=5040 possible arrangements [](/Klappa)
I don't really see any way to narrow this down further, so I just bruteforced it [](/PEPE)
Here's my disgusting code, which ends up spitting out that O=7, N=3, T=2, Y=6, L=8, E=5, W=4.
So SNOW = 9374
SLEET = 98552
FROSTY = 107926
We can indeed check that 9374 + 98552 = 107926 [](/SoDoge)
I'd like to know if there's a non-autistic way to find that out though
Take SJW rage compilation videos, you will notice the same clips repeated over and over. When it comes to SJW outrage news, like that incident where they had a safe space with play doh. It gets spammed by 30 different skeptics and alt right personalities all have to out their say towards it then any other safe space thing since then the whole play doh thing gets brought up like all universitys have it.
Then it stews for a bit until garbage media like fox put sensational pieces like this http://www.foxnews.com/us/2016/11/17/coddling-campus-crybabies-students-take-up-toddler-therapy-after-trump-win.html
Where they claim "top-notch schools sending devastated students back to their early childhood" and only cite 4 very spread out examples and one only lists arts and crafts.

For a long time, I also thought that Bosnia was an example of a "good" US intervention. Then I watched an Oxford Union debate on humanitarian intervention between David N. Gibbs, a University of Arizona historian, and Michael Chertoff, W. Bush's Secretary of Homeland Security.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=91WpiXu4oic
During the Q&A section of the debate, IIRC the first questioner brought up Bosnia (and also Kosovo); to which Gibbs replied that he had spent much of his academic career refuting the idea that those were "good" wars. I was very curious as to how he made his case, so I read his book, First Do No Harm. It firmly convinced me that the conventional narrative for the Bosnian War is utterly false.
That's pretty much the entire Alt-Right/Anti-SJW/Septic Tank cult in a nutshell.
Absolutely, look into the Soviet Pogroms- or if you fancy, read ''The Holocaust in the Soviet Union''. The main spout of Anti-Semitism in the Soviet era was under Stalin, but as I said before, Anti-Semitism existed all throughout history. Though to add- the book itself is published via yad vashem, take what you will from that.
They started posting cop violence stuff about the Oregon debacle, and someone wrote an article on it. The article part is the most important.
If you're an average guy looking to invest, please don't emulate people like this. They're playing a game with money they can probably afford to lose, and like to talk like smart finance people to show off their status. You will lose money trying to chase the market and it will not be fun.
If you want to learn how not to invest, I recommend reading a book like this which presents an accessible introduction to the academic research into why non-experts should not play stock market games. That book costs $12 and may save you thousands in needless fees wasted on active management trying to chase the market.
He co-authored a pretty decent book on Economics. I've been reading it, pretty dry tbh.
Other than that, I think he's just been busy doing his political activism, which probably leads to some marginalization by the academic community.
I listened to this podcast recently and as part of it they discuss differences in IQ test scores between African American and Caucasian American populations. It's possibly not as relevant in 2019, but the example they give is about how important the language used in asking the question is.
They report that tests with language like 'Which squirrel is getting ready to climb the tree?' created higher scores in Caucasian populations and lower scores in African American populations. When they used language like 'Which squirrel is fixing to climb the tree?' they saw a reversal in the performance of each population.
It's not exactly the final word on the matter, but it is very interesting to listen to.
The Supreme Court is seeing this issue currently. 538 is dedicating some of their podcast to the issue for a few weeks and I recommend everyone listen to it.

That doesn't make it any better that they said it of course, but anyways...
One day in November = confirmed viewbotting themselves. But literally 1 month straight, 24/7 (note: this is the same as a "troll" trolling a full time streamer (8h/day) for 3 months straight, with no breaks or events attended.)
Please get the fuck out of here with this weak ass shitty logic. And smh at the 10+ people upvoting this shit.
PS. Yes I agree about the last part, cronoh is a fucking shitter, especially doing the shit he did on an account clearly associated with his business life, this guy must be fucking brain dead... The laughing in the video also makes me feel the same way.
since most of our media is state run, they obviously present it as just more American aggression to justify sanctioning and suppressing Russia. The few popular liberal outlets in Russia present it as what it is, pretty much in line with what you get reading western media sources. In general, if you are ever interested in liberal Russian viewpoints, I recommend the following site: https://meduza.io/en
The Russian version of this site is probably among the most popular among Russian liberals.
The devs of Darkest Dungeon just released a bunch of sounds for twitch streamers. I think some of them are pretty dank, do you guys think they will trump the Trump?
Here's their post with the download link: http://www.darkestdungeon.com/ancestral-bestowment/
So, on July 1st, there will be "voting" for constitutional amendments. Outside of the obvious Reset of Putin's term, some more details became available to the public. It says that the government takes the duty of "Protecting the family and traditional values". And it seems, they are cranking up the propaganda of traditional values on the TV. Part of it is that video, linked in the twitter post.
http://adarkroom.doublespeakgames.com/ - top notch game
Would really like to see multiple phases, preferably with big gameplay/mechanic changes. A Dark Room goes from a purely text clicker to an ascii rogue-like to another style (spoilers!)

Good luck bois!
I'm glad you've discovered Destiny but seriously, who has time to read all of that?
> A sentence should contain no unnecessary words, a paragraph no unnecessary sentences, for the same reason that a drawing should have no unnecessary lines and a machine no unnecessary parts. ~William Strunk, Jr., The Elements of Style, 1918
>Exploring diplomatic options to stop nuclear proliferation is something that presidents rarely do--they prefer violence.
This is not true wrt NK. Every administration since the 90s has had talks. Trump's was only novel because he was the first to do it in person, which was a concession with nothing even promised in return.
> any move from hawkish to dovish should be encouraged regardless of political affiliation.
You do realize Trump was the one who escalated to a hawkish stance? I agree with you about taking all opportunities for diplomacy, but if you think Trump is without fault for the NK tensions, you're missing a big piece.
"Met with fire and fury", calling Kim a "sick puppy" and "rocket man" are all inflammatory rhetoric that is the opposite of diplomacy.
IMO he did it to create a problem he could "solve", a common political tactic of his. Please don't fall for this type of scam.
I remember hearing him in some video offering the standard lazy normie excuse "I don't have time". In my opinion, to borrow from Mr. Molymeme, that is not an argument, especially nowadays with the convenience of eink ebook readers, which he can sure as hell afford.
Also, I am sure more than 90% of leftist haven't actually read Das Kapital, it's a hard read to be honest. I'd recommend "Wage Labour and Capital" to get your feet wet. Destiny could even play it in audiobook form during one of the mind-numbing factorio sessions.

Maybe one of those tweets was misconstrued or just badly written and it got flagged. It wouldn't surprise me if that was the case cause when I initially saw the conversation, it took me a few tweets to realize what side Sargon was on.
Edit
Sargon said this on his Minds account:
>Well, it's interesting that I'm suddenly suspended from Twitter. Even more interesting that the second account I created after I got hacked has been suspended, too, but only for a week, which is why it is still available to view when my main one isn't.

If you create your own definitions of terms, then you can just twist reality however you want to fit your narrative. If you are going to do that, i don't see a point in replying to you.
harassment noun [ U ] UK /ˈhær.əs.mənt/ UK/həˈræs.mənt/ US /həˈræs.mənt/ UK/ˈher.əs.mənt/ behaviour that annoys or upsets someone
This is from the Cambridge dictionary : https://dictionary.cambridge.org/dictionary/english/harassment
Here is another link that says that harassment is the exact literal opposite of what you claim it is: https://legal-dictionary.thefreedictionary.com/harassment
By THOSE definitions which are the universally followed ones, not just random definitions which you came up with, what Trainwreckz said is 100% harassment.
I wont be responding to the rest of the stuff you wrote because for me to explain how wrong everything you said is, i would have to go back to the surface level of every single topic you've brought up and i don't have that kind of time.

What are you studying specifically?
As for general tips that haven't been posted yet:
Colours! Personally I find this one super important. I like to keep general notes in black, terms/equations in red and their corresponding definitions in blue.
Notebooks or binders - a huge part of your effort goes to shit if your stuff's unorganized, you should be able to find what you're looking with relative ease. Having a bunch of A4s fucking everywhere is a very bad habit.
Again, knowing what it is you're trying to study would help but reminders - little sticky notes with terms/concepts here and there to force your recollection. A sticky note above the sink, next to the toilet, on your door, anywhere that's supposed catch you off guard and cause the cogs to turn is great. Bonus meme - write the answer on the back.
Gradually increase your study time, use Forest to help you with this quest. You can't reasonably expect yourself to study wild hours after not studying in a while. Start with 45 minutes tomorrow, 60 after that, etc.
Pomodoro technique - super useful.
Most of the other memes that come to my mind have been already covered, but the environment you study in is probably #1 on my list.

you say this like it was a handful of words and no big deal, but the claim was that illegal, shady things are happening, and that's dynamite. he purports to be an expert, why is it unreasonable to expect him to be able to expand on this claim? this is what people wanted to know about.
and its not just that he got so fucking mad about this, his instinct was to assert instant narrative control - "i should have known, you're doing the destiny thing, you're trying to trap me, i guess you're just being an asshole to get a clip", and on and on and on.
these are things that set off alarm bells for me when i encounter them personally, but that's just me.

Please think of this as a similar experience to watching the stream on dedicated Android app.
I don't want to decrease Steven's revenue – if anything, it could only increase it. The player will still be able to display Twitch ads, and embedded chat will display all subscribers' perks. If the final reception of this idea will be positive, and I'll end up making it, I could even add links to become a sub (Twitch or Destiny.gg) right from the app and he'd keep all the profits.
As to switching between chats – some people watch/discover him via Twitch, and some like to follow both chats at once. Keeping the Twitch subscriber base above 400 is an important thing from the Destiny–Twitch business relationship standpoint.
Yeah...Civil War II was a mess. Honestly one of the worst events to come out of Marvel. Comixology happens to have the whole Infinity event for dirt cheap (when it comes to comics anyways). When it comes to cosmic events in the Marvel Universe, if you don't end up liking the Infinity event or the Annihilation event you're pretty much never going to enjoy anything cosmic that marvel does. Good luck though if you do decide to give it a go, I found it to be some of the best work Marvel has ever done.

The mod has one vanilla server hosted in France and it still pulls decent numbers (https://www.gametracker.com/server_info/server.dayzeuropa.com:2302/) and it's still really fun, would def recommend you give it a try. There's some new stuff they've added in updates too and it's all pretty cool.
For #1 there's a cool flashcard program called Anki. People can make decks and post them so you might be able to find a deck to suit you. But even making your own is fine.
Basically what it does is you answer the flash cards. If you get an answer right it assumes you know that and it comes up in the rotation less often. If you get an answer wrong that card will come up more often to drill it into your brain.
>The best motivator though, for me, was to have people to chat with about what I did.

Not consistent. It has "consistently" grown in value if you average the peaks and troughs - but you can say the same thing about Bitcoin. Bitcoin hasn't been around for nearly as long, it isn't nearly as safe. But it also has a completely different order of magnitude of past and potential returns.

I talked about college students, not the general population. It is higher and more common there, since the only way to get a relationship or losing your virginity is to actually try. Most college students don't have the time or money to actually try. And people on the internet who suggest to improve fitness or personality etc. before trying make it worse.
"According to the Online College Social Life Survey, a study of more than 24,000 students at campuses across America, 20 percent of college students graduate without ever having sex — a minority, to be sure, but a much larger percentage than even the students themselves might expect. In our own poll, which included underclassmen, 40 percent said they were virgins." -Note that it also refers to both genders, not just men.
https://www.thecut.com/2015/10/college-virgins-silent-almost-majority.html
Look at Japan for example where working hours are very high. So many people are virgins there since they barely have time for dating.

>From what I just read. They seem to be both punished. 6 months and 2 years respectively
It doesn't seem viable to jail everyone who enters illegally, there are just too many at this point. What probably needs to happen is putting Mexico under pressure to help solve the situation. For example, when people get detained/jailed, maybe Mexico should be tasked with returning the child to its parents, reuniting the families or whatever. I'm not sure exactly how, but America should have a lot of economic leverage over Mexico, so there needs to be more co-operation.
>and more recently with the Israel nuclear deal just being thrown away.
It's a tangent but it was the Iranian nuclear deal. Israel already has nukes (they stole them from the U.S., with the Apollo Affair) and have never had to sign a nuclear treaty. I don't think ditching the deal was the right choice though, it probably just makes things more volatile. The Obamacare thing has some nuance to it as well: https://edition.cnn.com/2017/12/20/politics/donald-trump-thinks-he-tricked-everyone-into-repealing-obamacare/index.html

He was mayor of an empoverished, highly diverse Rust Belt city which he turned around economically in 8 years. A lot of interesting reforms like changing the whole traffic down town in order to make it welcoming for pedestrians and bikes.
Despite trying to reform his police department there were problems, including a police officer killing a black man just as Pete's campaign took of. It was ruled justified, but the officer had switch off his body cam. Pete did a lot of listening after that (including letting people yell at him for an hour) and organized meetings where citizens could work on different policies with police officers and make recommendations. Unsurprisingly the national media only reported the yelling.
I like his writing (he's just written a book about trust, after a memoir last year) and that he's endlessly curious and ready to learn. That's probably one of the reasons he has used the time in quarantine to speak with interesting people for a podcast, for example about foreign policy with Susan Rice.
Another good book is ordinary men. I read it in college and it looks into the ability of normal people to do atrocious things and the system in place to best facilitate the practice of genocide

I tried to dig into it a bit but information on this is a bit hard to find, apparently the domain is owned by Perfect Privacy, LLC which is company that is a VPN provider that is not accredited by the BBB. It would probably have to be through advertisements if it was the case that they were being funded by Stake but I see like 0 advertisements so I am lost on their profit model.
> People do not seriously believe this
Yes they do. I agree it's dumb. But people actually think this.
> If you believe you have feel free to quote exactly what you said that you believes counters exactly what Destiny said
The manifesto says: There are no longer any public links to this particular guide on the DIY HRT Directory
. "There are no longer"? So there were in the past? Ok. We can test that claim. I do that in Claim 3 by showing that searching all commits for the guide turns up no results.
> Again, that is not the complaint.
Yes, it is. Again, "there is no longer" - so if there is no longer, that implies there once was. But there wasn't. So what is the evidence Chloe or the Directory were involved in distributing these guides or encouraging people to homebrew?
> If it is that I want you to explain to me what you think that means.
No, the git log <strong>-S</strong> command returns nothing when you search for the guide so it can't be found in the commits, that's my understanding.
Also to keep discussing, we can consolidate along 2 claims, instead of the quote-reply-quote-reply stuff:
And then I think you want to say something like the environment she promoted had homebrew guides circulating, but you'd need so specify that claim a bit more so I can respond appropriately.
from a quick skim of that twitter thread, i think their point is less "the more marginalized you are = the better you are at writing" and more that these people have different voices and different stories to tell, and those stories might be interesting for different reasons, and also you're definitely not finding those stories in AAA gaming.
think of it this way: i think like 90% of the games i've seen made by independent trans woman developers are super fucking quirky itch.io visual novels. some of them are REALLY GOOD, too - i played a little visual novel earlier this year called heaven will be mine, which is about three lesbians piloting giant space robots and dealing with their horrible interpersonal skills (and a lot of other crazy shit). whether or not that appeals to you is irrelevant here: the important part is that this is a story you will never find in AAA anything, mostly because it doesn't have mass market appeal, but also because the kind of person to write that story probably isn't also the kind of person to write the next call of duty.
The metal casings would be simple, it's just round brass bar stock and a jeweler's lathe, and forges have gotten much cheeper there are several guides on how to build them online, but if someone doesn't want to go to the hassle, they are super cheap off of amazon.

It's been 20 years since this book and its conclusions are genuinely hilarious. It would've been difficult to get this much wrong if you actually tried. For example: they put West Virginia into the permanently democratic camp. West Virginia voted for Trump by 40 points.
Hispanics shifted significantly GOP in 2020 and that will probably continue. More and more signs that hispanics are assimilating and becoming much more similar to the White vote than to the Hispanic vote 10 years ago.
The Senate is massively biased towards Republicans and is only getting worse. 31 states lean Republican relative to the nation overall. Every Democratic senate majority is a miracle. The electoral college is also bad but it's not clear what direction that advantage is heading.
It is impossible for one of the two parties to be permanently locked out of power. If Republicans lose multiple elections in a row, they will simply change and pick up more voters.
You are vastly overestimating the importance of short term demographic change. 2020 exits estimated that that voters over 65 were Trump +5. 2.6m people over 65 died in 2021. Let's double that and call it 5.2m. Voter turnout is looking like ~48% so we'll just round up and say 50. So we lost 2.6m voters over 65.
That means that, on the net, Republicans lost 130,000 voters nationwide. In a election with ~105m votes, that is a move of 0.13%. A typical midterm would be R+6, this is looking like R+0.5. Demographics are not even close to making up the difference.
Personally I support the anti-misogyny arc in general, the community desperately needed to chill with the ironic misogyny, ‘XYZ is turning me misogynistic’ jokes, and coomer comments whenever a woman joined stream.
But that being said, a lot of Destiny’s comments on stream about only hating specific women because of internalized misogyny does feel kind of cringe. Sure, it’s absolutely possible that internalized misogyny plays a role in how much people hate Lav or Brittany or anyone else, but the whole issue with it being internalized is that it’s almost impossible to quantify, and incredibly ease to hide behind genuine, reason-based criticism. Internalized misogyny is something to be grappled with through lots of research and introspection (I suggest reading “That’s what she said” if you’re interested in learning more), not by telling people that the only reason they disagree with women you like is because they’re dumb or misogynistic. Statements like that only serve to make your fans become combative, state the reasonable disagreements they have with the person on stream and refuse to acknowledge they are misogynistic whatsoever, and potentially risk feeling like OP, who feel turned off by what feels like an irrational uncritical defence of a woman solely by her gender.
repealing the civil rights act is completely based and correct
freedom of association is the single most important principle that this country was founded on, and the civil rights act is a perversion and negation of the constitution

I am currently reading this amazing book which goes over that and a ton of other stuff. The not one inch conversation happened in February 1990. In fall 1990, after that conversation, the soviets heard that Poland, Hungary, and Czech Republic wanted to join NATO. They tried to get them all to sign treaties that they would not join any “hostile” alliance or host any foreign troops on their soil. Naturally they all refused, and the soviets accepted that. If they had a real guarantee from NATO that expansion was off the table, why would they need to bother demanding such a treaty? Hmm almost as if….

Definitely persuasive, but it shows that there's probably a local maximum of productivity that can be achieved by moving people out of school earlier and more specialized in their jobs. If we were engaged in a gradient descent hill-climbing algo optimizing for productivity, we might go along with his prescriptions.
However, I have a pretty firm belief that a broader range of generalist knowledge, when combined in unique combinations and permutations, often results in more new things created than hyper-specialization will. This line of thinking is represented in the book Range (https://www.amazon.com/Range-Generalists-Triumph-Specialized-World/dp/0735214484). I think university/general education helps us make a small selection of connections that have incredibly high ROI. Following the hill-climbing-algo example, generalist permutations of knowledge have the same effect as "random restart", which gives us a higher chance of finding a GLOBAL Maximum in productivity.

>White ethnostate is your favourite word now huh, did you just learn that?
Its you who is getting mad at blacks in majority white areas.
How has the dark elf argument been debunked. They existed in Toliens universe. They did not experience their light which changed some elves wisdom and beauty
>Considering he explicitly stated that humans can be black, and orcs are black, don't you think he would have written down that a black race of elves also existed?
Considering he was happy calling things black why did he not call Elves white. He called them Fair which means beautiful. Never white.
>It has no correlation with the source material however.
Yes it does. Dark elves featured in the short stories of Tolkien. It is still his work based on the Middle Earth universe. They in "The Silmarillion" . Not read this? Here it is for sale on Amazon if you not a true Tolkien fan https://www.amazon.co.uk/Silmarillion-J-R-Tolkien/dp/000752322X So your argument it is not in the source material is false
It's actually a good way to deal with them. I've been doing it with the 9/11 was a "satanic ritual" theory. No planes. No missles. Just black magic - and compelling evidence for it.

>Is it worth also reading the Quran
Just the Quran by itself? Maybe, but probably not. One with commentary would be much better if you have no background on Islam. This one is good.
I agree that people are more standoffish in public, but it has nothing to do with women. The reason women don’t want to chat to strangers is the same reason everyone else doesn’t: we’ve been taught that we are vulnerable in public and need to be wary of strangers to protect ourselves.
If you really want to get to the bottom of why Americans are so afraid of each other, try reading a book called “Fortress America: How We Embraced Fear and Abandoned Democracy” by historian Elaine Tyler May. Here’s the description from Amazon:
> For the last sixty years, fear has seeped into every area of American life: Americans own more guns than citizens of any other country, sequester themselves in gated communities, and retreat from public spaces. And yet, crime rates have plummeted, making life in America safer than ever. Why, then, are Americans so afraid-and where does this fear lead to?
In this remarkable work of social history, Elaine Tyler May demonstrates how our obsession with security has made citizens fear each other and distrust the government, making America less safe and less democratic. Fortress America charts the rise of a muscular national culture, undercutting the common good. Instead of a thriving democracy of engaged citizens, we have become a paranoid, bunkered, militarized, and divided vigilante nation.

Destiny has often espounded the virtue of reading, but he has also championed the art of writing. Never prioritize the former over the latter. He specifically recommended to budding writers these notebooks. I've tried them: the paper is pretty good, and so is the binding.
No problem! Hope the effect comes out because I agree it's a bit disappointing.
If it doesn't improve might I suggest this shirt? It's got three wolves, a moon, and a real hand dyed effect.
> lmao read a book about the experiences of poor white people
A lot of my opinion I posted comes from reading The New Geography of Jobs so I really appreciate this comment.
>But yeah lmao lets pretend like being born into a family of religious extremists, anti vaxxers(before covid vaccines), and parents who refuse to send you to school is equivalent to “voting yourself” into poverty
I don't agree with this.
>They should’ve just not lived in a trailer next time
I get that. Which is why I pointed out that we have a problem of extending charity to disadvantaged minority groups and less so to "the groups in power" even if poor white people aren't getting much of a benefit from being white.
Add on that people haven't thought about their moral system very long. It is okay to have some negative stereotypes. It is impossible to talk about any group of people without allowing that negative stereotypes exist. How in the world do you even begin to address racism without being able to target the groups of people that cause the most problems with their racism? If you discuss it long enough, you get a stereotype.
>It must have been all those damn parking lots!
The topic was why white people were getting a shit hand. Automation and jobs leaving on top of poor city design play a massive role in making rural America a shit place to live. I understand it is complicated. It's also why I disagreed with the "voting" part. I feel that plays a small role, but it still does play a role.
