I wouldn't recommend using Utorrent as the company that owns it isn't very reputable, compared to qbittorrent. Make sure to use a VPN also when torrenting such as ExpressVPN or ProtonVPN.
Same thing happened to me for the first time in 15+ years ... Not even Limewire sent me a letter in the mail LMAO....
- There are free ones that don't work at all, and there are free ones that work great but usually limit how much time you can use them per day/week/month/etc -
I highly recommend these free options in this order:

*** One last note ***
Be aware there are horrible vpn services that do not allow P2P activity and some DO NOT even change your IP address at all but claim they do... Very good thing to do is write down your regular IP address and check to make sure it has changed whenever using a VPN service you are unsure of ( Opera Browser built in VPN, ProtonVPN, NortonVPN, ) .. Garbage.

Hope this helped. Happy gaming & stay safe friend
You can try looking around the general VPN subs on this site to get more opinions on ProtonVPN. My very rudimentary assessment:
pros: open source, free option
cons: probably fewer servers or high load servers
I have looked around and there is literally no free VPNs that would work and keep you safe. If you decide to pay for a VPN I believe Mullvad is the cheapest option and it is considered to be one of the best VPNs.
I also use qbittorrent. I always do the magnet download, and I do use a VPN (Mullvad seems to be a good one and its not expensive at all). I downloaded over 1TB last month and never got "the letter."
Lol thanks dude…. I actually just made a quick edit. I ended up just buying NordVPN super cheap and it’s hella solid 🤙 Def worth the peace of mind to not worry about free services running out of data or being risky 😈🏴☠️
Try these:
Run the game as admin.
Make sure ur antivirus didn't remove or block any game files. Check its quarantine & restore game file(s), If they r there. & add game's folder to its exclusion & restart.
If u r not admin, make it: https://www.technipages.com/windows-administrator-account-login-screen
Turn off UAC in Windows. https://winaero.com/how-to-turn-off-and-disable-uac-in-windows-10/
1.05 update fixes a lot of issues with quest progression and errors as well as AMD specific fixes and AVX fixes with crashing.
1.06 update fixes issues with corrupted save file over 8mb.
I definitely recommend saving a copy of your game elsewhere and attempt updating to 1.06. Especially if you want to enjoy the game and do things like crafting. Performance gains are there, I haven’t tested my setup. But if nothing else, the save file fix is the biggest reason to update imo
a fix (not tested) that i found in the comments under the official post, by Kundan kumar
>*****IMPORTANT*****
Many of you are complaining that setup is stuck at X%. This can be easily be solved by launching Repack setup and changing priority to high in task manager for all its processes.IF you doubt your setup is stuck or not Open task manager and monitor setup use cpu %. If it remain at 0% it means it stuck ( if setup uses is NOT 0% then you need to wait and don't panic as fitgirl says.)changing priority to high at the same time (**you don't need to again reinstall**) can solve your problem. However , only increase priority to high if you are not using pc while installing otherwise it will lag. For those who left pc while installing should always launch with high priority.

for now, i have re-installed with the option to limit my ram to 2 gb - will report back on how that works for me.

here's the fact: when it comes to privacy, no one can tell you which VPN is a good one, because none of them knows how these things work in the backend, many people would be like this VPN, it's super secure and they don't log your data, lots who were said they don't, turned out that they do when their data got leaked.
VPN is encouraged to use, while you have no guarantee that your data is safe, it's safer than without one. also if your country tracks people who pirate, it's a must.
but, if you don't care about your data being logged, I think google would help you with the top "cheapest ones".
I'd recommend ProtonVPN as it has many more features than just the VPN, there's a free plan that's unlimited, but you can't torrent with it. I'd suggest the 8€ plan, as it will make your data go through multiple servers for better security.
