You're paying to be a part of an active developer account, it raises less red flags with Apple. The alternative is you distribute your certificates to the wide open web, and then it gets revoked by Apple. Keeping it behind a paywall ensures that Apple doesn't raise it as a redflag.
And what's the problem anyway when Riley even suggests on his website to use it as a more reliable alternative?! http://www.gba4iosapp.com/download/
Also - it is possible to have a civil discussion without dropping "cunt" in every few words...
https://altstore.io go to this link and follow the instructions. Then once you have altstore downloaded on your phone, search for Delta and download it like you would any app. Then go online to find the rom of whatever you want to play and you’re all set. Delta is actually made by the same guy that made GBA4ios as is the altstore
Right now, there's only one way to get GBA4iOS without jailbreaking. You will have to try the BuildStore (which costs $9.99 per year, on one single device no jailbreak, and you won't worry about revocation), or you have to wait for GBA4iOS's certificate to be updated if you don't want to spend money, since it was revoked by Apple last month.
NDS4iOS is working right now, because its current certificate is not yet revoked.
the gba emulator?
I got it off of http://www.gba4iosapp.com/download/ I used the download for gba4ios 2.1 (8.3 and lower) and even though it says that it still works fine. You do this from your phones browser. Once you see the app starting to download, you go into settings > general > date & time > change it to anytime during 2014 or earlier (i think it only works for the first few years prior to that). Once you get it to download, change the time back to auto, and go into general> profiles & device management and click allow for the app.
At first this was all I had to do to play, obviously after installing any roms you want to use. But now I have been needing to change the time back each time I want to play. Sometimes now, the app won't even open and the enterprise app that you clicked "allow" for won't be there in settings. This makes me have to go back onto the gba4iosapp site and reinstall everything again. If you do it without deleting the app from your homepage, your game progress isn't deleted though.
edit: I don't think this is the exact one I watched but it might have been. Also seems to be the same setup as how I did it and described: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m_q4utEawzA
My controller of choice is the Steel Series Stratus, it's portable and solid which is what I'm looking for.
I paid like 70$ for it back in the day when it first released and it has served me well over the years.
These days it's WAY cheaper though, on sale on amazon for 22 US$ right now
Weird. I'll let you know if it's an iOS 13 issue once I download it, assuming public beta 2 comes out soon. I made that skin for myself first and foremost so if I can't use it, I'll definitely be fixing it!
Making the skin itself is just an image, yeah. The hard part is lining up the buttons with the buttons on the image. It's all in a JSON file. It's easy to understand how it works but that hard part is actually doing it. It's super tedious because it's all guess work and trial and error. You can read Riley's tutorial on the official website: http://www.gba4iosapp.com/tutorials/
I made an iPhoneX skin which is in this dropbox folder.
You can install it by following instructions on this page, but you can skip ahead to "Finishing the Skin".
Let me know if it works!
I had the same problem. I was playig it for a little while, but then I couldn't open the emulator, and even setting back the time could not fix it. But I found a solution (kind of). Delete the emulator completely and reinstall it. Here is the link: http://www.gba4iosapp.com/download/ Remember to set the time back before 2012. To play the emulator, you'll need to have the time kept at 2012, but if you want to play it on the current date, you can only load the emulator in the background saved apps (or whatever you call it, press the home button 2 times and select the emulator). Hope this helps.
Also, if you were synced with Dropbox, you should be able to get your save files.
Add Karens repo (not the beta) in Cydia: http://cydia.angelxwind.net/ Download AppSync Unified and restart springboard. After that use Safari to browse to http://www.gba4iosapp.com/download/ and click the blue download link. Works like a charm.
I would recommend buildstore as a good download site. Here is a 10% off coupon if your interested. As a free alternative I would try appvalley, just remember that they do have their certificates revoked about once a month.
I would also recommend that you give iNDS a shot, as it is still in active development and tends to perform better than NDS4iOS.
Yes, gba4ios definitely supports iOS. Try downloading from either iEmulators or AppValley.
Otherwise, download an ipa and sign the application yourself.
iEmulators gets their signed apps from both tweakbox and appvalley. The sites seem ok, but it all depends on how much you trust them to not mine cryptocurrency in the background.
I personally just use appvalley for all the side loaded apps I need. Then I use Adblock by futuremind to block the adtracking and ads. Works like a charm.
You could try a couple of different emulators to see if one of them works. Here’s the list:
With the exception of the first one, all of these can be found on appvalley.
For $10 bucks you can download it - I know it cost money but you dont have to jailbreak plus you can download other emulators and some other apps as well
here's the link, I purchased it and it works perfectly, but it does cost money.
Currently the only way to get it on 8.1 and up (including the current 8.3) is to register your UDID with someone. You can try builds.io or if you find a different one you just check if they have GBA4iOS. It will cost about $10 to register though.
set your date back to 2008
install
then set your date back to auto
then follow the following instructions to remove the provisioning profile: http://osxdaily.com/2014/02/27/remove-provisioning-profile-from-ios/
viola! works
At work atm, so I can't take a look at the file but check out the official tutorial on editing skins:
http://www.gba4iosapp.com/tutorials/
It takes a lot of trial and error since you can't edit them in real-time. But enabling the debug overlay for each button will help a lot.
This may not help as an answer but if you're anything like me, you'll probably find it better to make your own skins. Apart from personalising the look and feel, you'll be able to move the buttons, change the screen size and add other 'life improvements'.
Luckily, there's a great tutorial here, including the templates to get you started: http://www.gba4iosapp.com/tutorials/
All you need is an image editor and some very basic 'find and replace' JSON skills.
This may or may not work but here's a link : http://www.gba4iosapp.com/download/ scroll to the bottom and there's the old version of GBA4iOS idk if it works or not since I don't have a device with iOS 8 or earlier. But it should work ;)
Yes, install AppSync Unified from Cydia and then install GBA4iOS from here. Ignore the iOS 8.0.3 or lower warning, it should work fine if you have AppSync Unified installed.
You can try modifying the skin. I noticed none of the skins looked great on my phone, so I modified an existing skin to have a bigger D-pad and slightly different layout. Here's the tutorial. It's not as difficult as you'd think. It took me about an hour to understand everything and get the skin right.
Yes, for those of you using Windows, you’ll want to download iTunes and iCloud on your computer
make sure it’s from the Apple website and not downloaded from the Microsoft store
When you’ve done that, go to this tweet (( https://twitter.com/altstoreio/status/1200133575800176640?s=21 )) and download the .ZIP file by clicking the link in the tweet Extract the files from the .Zip into a new folder on your desktop and open the “setup” you’ve extracted and finish the installation, you should have an app called “AltServer” somewhere in your pc now, I would find it and put it into your new folder
Sign into iCloud with your Apple ID
Now connect your phone to your PC with your charging cable and open iTunes. Make sure to trust your computer with your device. Find your phone in the top left of iTunes and click it and then click Summary. Make sure “Sync with this iPhone over Wi-Fi” is UN-CHECKED.
Now you can open that new “AltServer” app in your new folder, once you’ve done that, nothing should open, now click the arrow in the bottom left of your task bar and you should find a Diamond Shaped Icon. Click it, and click install and select your device.
It should now ask you to sign into your Apple ID
This is safe! I’ve done it myself, and haven’t heard otherwise
Now it should install the “AltStore” App directly you your iPhone ! But before it allows you to open the app, on your iPhone, go to Settings>General>Device management Tap whatever shows up in your device management and “Trust this developer” or whatever it asks. Now you should be able to open your app and download the Delta Emulator App!
Here is where I download my ROMS on my phone
Enjoy! If you have any further questions, let me know! Especially opening the ROMs, that’s the first thing I had trouble with.
Just google “Pokemon ROMs”
It’s the equivalent of needing the cartridge to go in the game boy, you need a ROM to open in your emulator
https://romsmania.cc is one I used recently and works fine.
You’re using a different version of App Valley. There’s 2 of them out there. They look similar, but only one is the official one. It shouldn’t say “Unavailable,” it just shouldn’t have the “Get” button to press.
Delete the Profile and DL the one from here.
I know it looks similar but they are different...
Use https://altstore.io , it never gets revoked . But you have to resign the apps yourself after 7 Days. I also recommend switching to delta since it’s supports more emulators and it’s made by the same Dev.
OpenEMU For Mac, and Delta via AltStore for iOS. If you want to sync, I had a really jank way where I had delta upload my saves through the Dropbox sync feature and Dropbox on my Mac and Just manually moved files off I wanted to play on each device.
Also I see you have a new account. Try to check the sidebar for this stuff as it’s a very common question. Most are very anal about that, so do be warned and check rules before posting
it doesnt work because tweakbox uses enterprise certificates. Enterprise certificates aren't meant to be used with 3rd party appstores like tweakbox. So your other alternatives are [altstore]altstore.io and appvalley companion
you have a few options
option 1: use altstore, more information on altstore.io
option 2: use 3th party signing stores, this is not the best, since it works for 2 weeks and then you need to uninstall
option 3: jailbreak, see r/jailbreak for more info, after you have jailbreaked install appsync unified and reprovision (this is the option i use myself)
option 4: use cydia impactor, i've heard that this doesn't work on the newest ios but i've never used it so i don't know.
i got my .ipa of delta (the better GBA4IOS) from operationidroid.com/delta (you need to scroll down to download)
Just switch to the Delta Emulator, just like this emulator it was made by Riley.
It’s downloaded through a pc program called “AltStore” Basically you download AltStore on to your phone, by download that onto your pc following the install steps and plugging in your phone and injecting it, you the download delta through the app on your phone with it still plugged in to the PC, after that your good. It will last 7 days and after that you need to “refresh” it again, it’s very simple to do, just turn your pc on open “AltServer” and plug in your phone and hit the refresh button, it can also be done over your WiFi.
It emulates
GameBoy GameBoyColor GameBoyAdvanced Nintendo Entertainment System Super Nintendo Entertainment System Nintendo 64 (This can also emulate DS games but it requires you to join the patron for 3$ a month, it will be here for everyone/non patrons here soon though)
If anything you need help with arises, just message me or go to r/Delta_Emulator

Instead of downloading the .zip from the tweet I linked, you’ll want to download it from https://altstore.io
I don’t know exactly how it goes with Mac, but thankfully AltStore, OPERATIONiDROID, and Riley Testut all support each other, so here is a tutorial video I found by one of them that should explain how to do this through Mac , this video is a month old so I would imagine it’s still up to date!
!!!WINDOWS USERS!!! This video will NOT work for you!!
If it won't open it is likely still related to the certificate. While the build store doesn't get revoked, sometimes it can be impacted by software changes. You'll need to click this link to initiate the automatic certificate repair and you'll be golden. http://builds.io/support/check_device_status
iemulators gets revoked all the time. You paid for the non revoked buildstore certificate. I'd encourage you to get it working instead of using the quick solve of going to iemulators. You'll hate yourself in the long run in a week or so when you cant play anymore and you lose your saves.
Buildstore support is incredible, but maybe try using this link first to see if it fixes your issue: http://builds.io/support/check_device_status
I updated to iOS 10.3... so I had to delete apps, clear safari cache, hard reset, then back to their site, logged in, reinstalled UDID, and tried installing apps. It still didn't work for me, so I had to use this link to have them reregister my device.
http://builds.io/support/check_device_status
Hopefully, after it finally registers, I'll be able to download the apps again. This is definitely not my first time going through this process. But in the past it has worked.
EDIT: the self-fix link works and it took about 20ish minutes to finally have my device recognized and able to download apps. GBA4iOS is back on my device and running normally again!
u can download GBA4iOS from buildstore it's $9.99 and your certificate won't get revoked. Before I bought this, mine got revoked. So I went on iTunes (with my phone plugged in) scrolled down to the app section and copy all the data from GBA4iOS into Dropbox. Once you buy the version from build store, plug your phone I and copy them back to the new GBA4iOS you've downloaded & all of your saved data will be back.
build store so far has been the best option. $10/yr. but right now they are offering free accounts after you get 3 paid accounts to use your link before you get a few account. and yes using your link with your paid account counts as 1 of the 3 needed.
http://builds.io/ $10 a year and never worry about the cert being revoked. It also seems like iEmu's link is currently working but will probably be revoked soon, play it while you can. http://iemulators.com/gba4ios
It's the best thing in the world haha. I paid $20 and put it on my ipad and iphone.
Anyway, follow this link "http://builds.io/?"
Or if that doesnt work try this one: http://builds.io/?aid=1036
You create an account (green sign up button).
Once you do that, it will take you to a page that installs a profile on your phone. You have to enter your phone's password to complete this.
Then, you pay $10 via paypal.
It takes about 5-10 minutes for it to complete, then you are free to download multiple apps through the website. They offer emulators, and movie apps (like moviebox which basically gives you every movie for free).
Once the emulator is downloaded, search for the roms you want to download on google. For example "pokemon emerald rom" Download the rom, then click open with button, then select gba4ios and you're good to go.
I was very skeptical at first, and I've only had this for a few days but this is WELL worth the $
This kept happening to me but I bought it on the build store for 10 dollars and I don't have any trouble playing GBA4iOS. I'm also playing on iOS 10 public beta. Buying it seemed to be the only way to make it work.Build Store
Did you download it here? If so, Apple revoked the certificate so the app no longer works. From the looks of their website though they released a new install two days ago with a new certificate that should work. The alternative is to download it from the buildstore.
Edit: The new one from June 5th is revoked as well now.
I'm assuming you installed it recently from iemulators. Here's the update from their site:
>GBA4iOS 2.1 has finally been revoked by Apple. It had a good, surprisingly long run! We'll look into bringing it back again. Don't forget you may install this and many more emulators with a BuildStore account! May 16, 2015
Edit: Didn't have time to say this before, but just to clarify, once Apple revokes an app's certificate, it will not run on your device anymore. It checks these certificates whenever your phone starts up so by turning it off and on you revoked the app and can no longer use it. Fortunately, you can still install it from builds.io if you want to.
Pay $10 and register your UDID with builds.io. You get GBA4iOS and a bunch of other emulators/media players. And you don't need to worry about not updating your phone in order to keep playing Pokemon. I'm running iOS 8.3 and just played Emerald this morning during my commute.
You can install it via builds.io. Was looking for a workaround myself til I found this. Works like a charm.
Only downside is you've gotta be willing to pay $10 to access all their apps.
With VirtualBox you emulate a virutal computer on which you can install Mac OS X and run it as an emulation. Unfortunately, you won´t be able to run the original Mac OS X, so you´ll need an fixed version.
Anything you need to download and how to create this virtual machine is explained in this tutorial!
I have a podfile that will work! Just use my podfile. Here's a link! https://www.amazon.com/clouddrive/share/VLW68jpzo55HKN2sRSrOl2A2Zk4EJk9UiZYYyOAT8Xh?ref_=cd_ph_share_link_copy
Just make sure you delete the .txt part when you replace it!
I followed everything EXACTLY as it said on the post (I used masterchen09's build) and when I'm at the build part in Xcode and click the play button I get the following 3 fatal build errors along with multiple yellow triangle errors:
diff: /Applications/GBA4iOS/master/Pods/../Podfile.lock: No such file or directory
diff: /Applications/GBA4iOS/master/Pods/Manifest.lock: No such file or directory
The sandbox is not in sync with the Podfile.lock. Run 'pod install' or update your CocoaPods installation.
It mentions I had to use pod install, but I did. I typed it in where the instructions said I should. My Cocoapods installation is up to date because I installed it for the first time just now.
EDIT: I'd also like to mention that when I type in
% pod install
into the terminal, everything goes fine except the very last line of text which reads in red
[!] Unable to find a specification for Dropbox-iOS-SDK (~> 1.3.0)
I use this line of text that was mentioned in the post before typing pod install in Terminal:
% curl -o Podfile https://pastebin.com/raw/MKAFdU7T
If you have an iPhone 5, 5s or SE, you could try this one: https://www.amazon.com/Logitech-PowerShell-Controller-Battery-Generation/dp/B00FHREO8K.
I worked for me on my 5S. The only problem was the physical connection that sometimes would not connect properly to the lightning port. It doesn't use bluetooth. I also didn't like the analog control.
