Cortana is described as being unique and powerful for a smart AI. This is likely because her personality was imprinted from a copy of Dr. Halsey's brain. Despite being a third generation smart AI, not even many of the fourth and fifth generation AIs could match her capabilities. The only smart AI that seems to have a superior ability is Black-Box, who was upgraded with a Forerunner communications system that allowed him to spread his working processes across interstellar distances.
According to a recent Canon Fodder article, private companies are developing their own super soldier programs...which has all sorts implications.
And I guarantee all these people who crap on Spartan IVs will start saying only those in the Spartan Branch, all generations included, are real super soldiers when 3rd party steroid freaks start showing up in the fiction and games.
Edit: here is the Canon Fodder I'm referring to. https://www.halowaypoint.com/en-us/community/blog-posts/canon-fodder-armory-amore
I don't suppose you've spent much time in the desert, have you?
Many deserts, including the Sahara can drop to about and often below freezing at night. This is often deceptive and contradictory to what most people think, but it gets cold. Similar regions and climates, which match Sanghelios get really hot, but also really cold as well. You've got a variety of factors to consider, including wind too.
Sanghelios is not a tropical climate, where the average temperature is like 80+ year around. It's a wide and varied world with a range of climates. Halopedia cites surface temperatures averaging from 23 degrees Fahrenheit - 204 degrees Fahrenheit.
That said, the Grunts aren't necessarily fond of their home world's climate, nor do they really quite thrive in it. The warmth and safety that a fire would offer would be welcome when your life is a struggle against freezing the death everyday back at home.
Edit: No idea why I'm being down voted, I'm not saying anything wrong or untrue heh.
Bots, but I'm on mobile and can't find the citation. I'm 90% sure it was a demi-recent canon fodder.
Got it:
>Q, Are the marines featured in the Warzone gametype real humans learning how to fight alongside superior soldier (Spartans) or are they AI simulations just like the Covenant/Prometheans?
>- USS Galactica
>A: The UNSC Marines that assist the Spartan fireteams in the Warzone scenarios are AI-driven components of the simulation, and are not live participants of the training, both practically and fictionally.

Systematically erased in Operation: OFFSCREEN.
Joking aside, I would want them to just go out like badasses, unlike most of the Spartans that died in Halo Legends or Black Team. Will and Kurt had some of the best deaths of Halo.
Only word we have post Kilo-5 is from this Canon Fodder
>EightWalk326413: As of 2558, where is Naomi-010? Is she serving with the Spartan branch?
>A: As of 2558, Spartan-II Naomi-010 is still enlisted and serving, however, the details of her current deployment remain classified.
That's pretty much it.

THE DIDACT REDEMPTION ARC IN HALO 6
CALLING IT RIGHT NOW, YO
Seriously though, I do remember somebody official stating in some interview that some character was supposed to be getting a "redemption arc." I know it wasn't The Didact, though. I think it was Chakas/343 Guilty Spark? If anybody more privy to the info could chime in, that'd be great.
I remember on Waypoint a little while ago, somebody said that while they were at Gencon, they asked a 343 dev what would win between the Shadow of Intent and the Infinity. Apparently the dev said that after a long and drawn out battle, the Infinity would emerge just barely victorious, because while the SoI is a more general-use type of carrier, the Infinity was a dedicated warship. I assume that means that a carrier that's meant specifically for battle would definitely defeat the Infinity.
Ah, found the post. Though he could've just been lying, I suppose. Doesn't seem like the type of thing somebody would make up, at least.
Greetings reclaimer! I have found the information you are seeking.
Yes. Commander Michael Sullivan is the same guy from Halo 4: Forward Unto Dawn. After he survived the Battle of Circinius IV, he graduated from OCS, served in the UNSC Navy, and then joined ONI. He eventually is promoted to Senior Communications Director of ONI Section Two.
The truth about Sully's personality shift from being amiable and cheerful to being cold and ruthless is that it was most likely out of necessity. He is described as having a "cold rationality" and "willingness to go to any extreme" during the Human-Covenant War, which nets the attention of ONI. Being in a high leadership position in ONI requires a lot of cunning and drive. This is very apparent with Admiral Margaret Parangosky and Admiral Serin Osman. Someone like Sullivan has to change his ways or he'll be eaten alive by the other rising stars in ONI.
So now, he works for ONI, specifically for Section Two. Section Two is in charge of propaganda, so he commissions a story for Benjamin Giraud in the hopes that it will satisfy the mass public with the origins of the SPARTAN-II program. So when Giraud goes rogue, naturally Sullivan's going to get upset.
The last time we heard about that theme, Catalog answered: Shadow-of-Sundered-Star's speech proved to be more complex than was immediately apparent, touching on [skeins] that [never were]. It is [suasoria]. Halo Waypoint
Suasoria = a form of declamation in which the student makes a speech which is the soliloquy of an historical figure debating how to proceed at a critical junction in their life.
Short story, he was talking to himself
I assume you meant the geas? It is theorized that the Master Chief was implanted with the Iso-didacts geas. But its just theory considering he may or may not even have geas. here is a post about it that pretty much outlines the theory here
As for the other question, Halsey was given the whole Janus key in two pieces. once its put together it gives the real time location of every forerunner artifact meant to help the humans to reclaim the mantle. But once she was ejected from the stasis where she was able to speak with what was left of the librarian, she had a piece of the key in each hand. Jul only saw the one piece and grabbed it. Once Thorne walked in, halsey tossed him the other piece.
For posterity, the link is found in the Canon Fodder "Noble Intentions".
She's very obviously doing something within slipspace. She's utilizing a to-be-decommissioned slipspace drive, after all. I think what it is implying is that the domain is slipspace utilized as some form of storage.
This. As explained on Halo Waypoint, the Spartans were upgraded to Mk. VI, but Fred (and presumably Linda) started testing prototype armor components that would later be integrated into [GEN2]
>Q: HOW WAS HIGH CHARITY ABLE TO GET TO THE ARK IN A TIMELY MANNER? THE ONLY WAY IT COULD HAVE DONE SO WAS THE VOI PORTAL, BUT HIGH CHARITY WAS MUCH BIGGER THAN THAT PORTAL. SO HOW WAS IT ABLE TO DO THIS? IF IT WENT THROUGH VOI, WHY DID THE GRAVEMIND NOT THROW DOWN BILLIONS UPON BILLIONS OF FLOOD FORMS ON EARTH WHILE IT WAS THERE? - BACONSHELF A: The Flood-infested High Charity never entered Earth’s atmosphere, and did not transit the Portal at Voi. However, the Gravemind did become aware of Earth’s Portal - and thus the danger that the Lesser Ark still posed to his plans - as soon as he arrived in the Sol system. His modifications to High Charity were far-reaching, both to keep the facility functioning after the departure of the Keyship, and to better serve as a mobile plagueship from which he could sing victory everlasting in a galaxy consumed of thinking life. But even with an intellect impossibly vast and deep, able to twist the technologies of the Covenant far beyond their original functionality by application of esoteric Precursor science, the ancient abomination was unable to both conduct a desperate bridging maneuver to the Ark and maintain the structural integrity of High Charity after its arrival.
To clarify a few things, the Super MAC represents a specific class of Magnetic Acceleration Cannons, and not all of them are the same. The Light MACs on a Paris Class Frigate is notably different to the one on the Epoch Carrier, and the Heavy MAC in the Marathon is different to the one on the Strident Heavy Frigate. Then there's also the fact that there are multiple types of Orbital Defence Platforms ranging from unmanned weapons platforms to ones armed with a capital scale Magnetic Acceleration Cannon, WiH the ones in Reach being among the most powerful ODPs.

Haha. Calm down. It is true that Halsey, as far as we know, is with Jul 'Mdama. [Cast Spoiler](#s "However, FERO is definitely not Halsey. FERO is a rebel leader. Either for the New Colonial Alliance or for the Rebel Front.")
>[Cast Spoiler]( #s "FERO, Rebel Leader - Janina Gavankar")
It was revealed that the Gravemind used some of it's Precursor know-how to modify High Charity's slipspace drives, enabling a jump that took significantly less time than it should have.
Just to note, the Gravemind did arrive in the Sol system, but never made it to Earth. When it realized the truth about the portal, it high-tailed it to the Ark via the modified slipspace drives on High Charity.

Almost scary. Guess my canon order was used. As I was the one to place some stuff in the way it was xD
Edit: OMG looking at the description they did. xD LOL
Nothing has been said, and it may be that they are just the thirteen dead Spartans that you encounter on Lone Wolf in Reach's epilogue.
However, a recent canon fodder mentions that:
>"...After the development and rollout of the first GEN2 Mjolnir weapon systems, battle-proven Mk. IV and Mk. V variants were eventually earmarked for reassessment at the request of veteran Spartan II and Spartan III operatives."
Meaning there are some veteran MJOLNIR equipped Spartan-IIIs around. Canon fodder is sometimes a tease like that, so maybe we'll get more down the road.
Source for Kamchatka being a node in the Domain: https://www.halowaypoint.com/en-us/universe/locations/kamchatka
And this is a quote from one of the Intel logs on Kamchatka:
"The native defense system has been disabled, but Halsey was not able to bring the alert system down in time. Promethean forces will arrive within the hour. This human is more trouble than she is worth."
Halo Waypoint lists 80-90 years, which I think is way lower than what it should be. Several UNSC officers were in their 70s-90s and still performing decently enough.
Can you be part of multiple Companies?
It would be a shame to put Swords of Sanghelios to waste.
I've got tonnes of space also. If anyone cares.
>Q: Um, why do Anders and Cutter look different?
>A: Because they are different – for both casting and technical reasons. The first Halo Wars game, for all its glitteringly wondrous CG, contained characters that Blur essentially “made up.” They were effectively “hand drawn” amalgams of character, rigging and aesthetics. Those characters were created in 2008, using 2007 tech and they looked fantastic at the time. But since then, the industry has made geometric leaps forward in technique and technology and the trend, rightfully, has been towards proper facial and performance capture. The end result is much better immersion in the story and far more believable “people” because they are people – recordings of the performance rather than a simulation or cartoon of it.

Frank has commented on the depictions of the Unrelenting and has admitted it was portrayed as a CCS simply because of lack of time/resources, and that the canonical ship type it was is still ambiguous. https://www.halowaypoint.com/en-us/news/canon-fodder-reaching-out
The Commonwealth being drawn as a charon-class frigate in the comic is just a mistake that wasn't repeated again in the animated series adaptation.
UNSC energy shields were reverse-engineered from Jackal shield gauntlets, which is why they have that golden shimmer as opposed to the blue shimmer of Sangheili full-body shields. It amuses me that even large-scale shields like the ones on Sabres, Broadwords, Mantises, Strident-class frigates, and the Infinity, are ALL the same golden. Imagine the super-powerful shields on Infinity sourcing their way back to some crappy dead Jackal's gauntlet.
Infinity's engines aren't even reverse-engineered, the ship literally uses a Forerunner-built engine found on Onyx. The UNSC just built a whole lot of tech around it so that they could control it and use it.
The Bubble Shield was apparently reverse-engineered by ONI from a Forerunner device which was then captured by the Covenant and reverse-engineered by them, leading to both sides having bubble shield tech: https://www.halowaypoint.com/en-us/universe/tech/bubble-shield

What war? Are you asking why there aren't any in Jul's faction? It is likely that he targeted the Ibie’shans because they were an isolated community that had relatively been left alone by the Covenant and so they were not disillusioned by the Great Schism and could easily be convinced to take up his cause.
GEN2 armors ARE capable of holding a smart AI,; in fact, by default, the GEN2 armor has AIs, not AIs like Cortana or Black-Box, but AIs nevertheless.
From Canon Fodder : "The AIs that manage the Mjolnir BIOS and VISR are generally passive helpers that integrate, prioritize, and even subtly alter the torrent of data and sensory overrides fed to the armor's Spartan user, simplifying the chaos of the battlefield and reducing confusion. These AIs also handle mundane administrative tasks by filing munition expenditure forms, battle damage assessments, kill reports, and other paperwork on behalf of the Spartan. The typical suit of Mjolnir armor carries around a dozen or so of these AIs, each specialized in numerous tasks of war and science to aid the Spartan they are attached to. While these AIs are incapable of a human's oversight, they are still a valuable component of the armor."
Turns out I was remembering that log quite incorrectly. XD
Here is a transcript of the audio log I was referring to. It's been quite a while since I played that level, so I do apologise. Still, that log leads to this interesting conversation, which may help to explain something else entirely regarding her rampancy.
As for the rest of my comment, that still applies. And I swear I recall something regarding Halsey having to wipe part of Cortana's memory...
There is no official map... mostly because the vast majority of the locations in the universe are either in;
Also, slightly off topic, but I find it to be unlikely that the Covenant colonized as extensively as humanity did. Most of their species were under a degree of subjugation by the Prophets and the Elites; the latter of whom were probably not allowed to extend to far away from central command for fear of having a "beachhead" in any future uprising. Their existing colonies had relatively large populations (IIRC) in comparison to the colonies of the UEG (tall, not wide!). As such, having a map would be relatively meaningless.
We know most of the significant battles occur in the Orion Arm of the Milky Way galaxy; but outside of that I doubt there are major locations of significance that aren't Forerunner! This applies mostly to the 2552 war; the UNSC was very limited by light speed travel at the time (2ish light years per day, whereas the Covenant were at 900 light years per day according to one estimation. After the war it is anyone's guess... it wouldn't surprise me if both factions have expanded beyond the Orion arm.
There was a map circulating that had circles showing Brute space, Elite space etc, but that map is inaccurate at best, and extremely misleading at the worst.
What's to say they don't? The fact that they have the thrusters would seem to suggest that they have upgraded. From the Jet Pack article on Halo Waypoint:
> Though the next spiral of GEN2 Mjolnir refinements will incorporate an integrated set of thrusters
First off, welcome to the "other side." Definitely start with Fall of Reach as the other suggested. Here is a list of the the book media for Halo that I have been using. If you have played the games already you know what is going to happen. The books give you so much more of an in depth explanation and examination of the story. While the books for the first games are not necessary to enjoy and compltetely understand what is going on, you should absolutely read the Forerunner Saga to better understand the different aspects of Halo 4.
I will stop here before I just ramble on any more. All in all, the books are amazing and will fill you in on almost all of the smaller details of the Halo universe. Enjoy!
>Correction: Current [frumentarii] records indicate [exploratores] designated "Blue Team" (ref: SPARTAN-II; ref: [ref: Halo Encyclopedia, p. 112) remain under NAVSPECWARCOM [ADCON]. Multiple [bureaucratic tactical] vectors by [frumentarii] to acquire full command authority.
For comprehension: Frumentarii = ONI, Exploratores = Spartans
This is what I think, too. It was mentioned on Waypoint a while ago that there are "hushed murmurs of Jiralhanae clans gathering strength in hidden corners of the Orion Arm with unconfirmed intents to stake their own claim on the Covenant Empire". These Jiralhanae clans could pose as much of a threat to Humanity as Jul 'Mdama's Covenant, perhaps even more.
That's The Mona Lisa, and they weren't necessarily attacked right out, but only after experimenting with it on Sangheili prisoners using Flood samples recovered from the area.
Although, there was an article that said a joint UNSC-Sangheili quarantine zone is maintained around 04's debris, keeping a distance because of the ever-present threat of the Flood. I can't remember where this was stated, though. I'll see if I can find it.
EDIT: Finally found it! It was from the Threshold article on Waypoint: https://www.halowaypoint.com/en-us/universe/locations/threshold
> A 500 light-second exclusion zone is currently maintained around Threshold, with both Sangheili and human warships patrolling the region as part of the post-war treaty between those species. Uncontrolled Sentinels, volatile Halo fragments, micro-debris, malfunctioning Forerunner artifacts, and the ever-present danger of the Flood make even surreptitious exploration and scavenging too dangerous for most.
From the description for Tyrant:
> Grasping impossible filaments buried beneath reality by the long-vanished Precursors, Gravemind pulled at strands that twisted and warped real space. Walls made of collapsed starmatter cracked and shattered, entire fleets of kilometer-long warships vanished in flares of scathing light, and colony planetoids were ripped asunder; cracks in the Miner’s defenses into which the Gravemind poured billions of walking corpses, all cackling with one voice that drowned out desperate screams and final shouts of useless defiance.
Here.
To quote the relevant passage:
>The Flood-infested High Charity never entered Earth’s atmosphere, and did not transit the Portal at Voi. However, the Gravemind did become aware of Earth’s Portal - and thus the danger that the Lesser Ark still posed to his plans - as soon as he arrived in the Sol system. Long story short, Gravemind used its magic science bullshit to upgrade the engines, and made the jump straight from Mars airspace (as mentioned in this old forum post[which refers to Mars by its Forerunner name of "Edom"])
Looking back at the second confrontation with the Didact on Installation 03 in July 2557 and Blue Team's continuing operations following that, with consideration to the Raid on Biko in early 2558(HTT S1), and the actual chase that October(Halo 5), it could be that Blue Team running after [Halo 5 spoilers](#s "Cortana") was just the last straw
EDIT - or, looking at this guy's post on Waypoint, it's possible there was some retconning between seasons
> Or is this a plot hole like the absence of the Janus key in halo 5?
The only reason I could think of why the Janus Key would need to be mentioned is that once a connection was noticed of Forerunner artifacts causing massive destruction to UNSC colonies they could use that to try and find new links, but the story of Halo 5 goes off in a completely different direction. The Janus Key wasn't necessary to tell that story
While the Composer isn't Precursor technology, it utilises Neural Physics to sublimate its targets' essence. So, there is Precursor influence - yet it's unknown how the Forerunners managed to use Neural Physics in this way, and it's said that the Forerunners themselves don't fully understand the procedure.
Humans have been part of the Keepers of the One Freedome from the very beginning. The specific ones mentioned in Shadows of Reach are three Spartan-IIIs and a civilian ONI operative who are undercover.

5th question in the Q&A of this Canon Fodder from Feb. 2015. One can assume that it was redesigned in 4 to avoid a Maw situation again. (The Maw level from Halo CE being roughly two times the length of the actual ship)

IS THE UNKNOWN FORERUNNER CONSTRUCT IN THE E3 2013 A WAR SPHINX?
No. However, many fans have already gazed into the eye of one variant of war sphinx – while investigating Halsey’s laboratory on Ivanoff Station in Halo 4.
I wish I had a source or two off the top of my head, but I don't. It's a case of Truth not telling Regret the plan. It's my understanding that Truth had the Brute takeover place in place, and amassing a fleet to go kick Earth's ass was part of it. So while the fleet (Regret's) that shows up originally is Elite-led, Truth follows up with a Brute-led one, including what wasn't destroyed in First Strike. We see this pretty quickly after Regret leaves, as by the next day Truth's fleet (or a vanguard at least) has arrived.
Remember ODST, where Buck sees dead Elites very soon after the drop. This happened long before Chief arrived at Delta Halo to kill Regret, which supposedly causes the Schism. The fact that the Brutes at Earth execute the Elites long before that is evidence that Truth had prepared another fleet for this purpose. Hell, it might have been his plan to send a Brute fleet to take Earth, get the glory, and provide an excuse to demote the Elites.
TL;DR Two different fleets, Truth is a dick.

Sadly due to the 2015 build of Halo Online being scrapped. It is uncertain if any of it is canon. Bar what is said below.
Grim stated on Halo Archive that "The one thing I'd say should be safe enough to carry through from an overall Universe perspective is the general situation of Anvil Station (SvE join testing program, etc on a "secret" base). Almost everything else, I'd wait until you see any elements pop up in a more... "complete" release - if ever."
The only other exception is Mirmillion armor, and that's cause it was mentioned in a Canon Fodder. That said the design and lore in Halo Online could be totally different from the actual canon variant.

Ok I have a few sources for you that I have made.
Halo Chronological order thread
The above thread is a bunch of simple orders you can go through if you dont wanna chapter swap a lot. Simply choose what one suits best in it.
The Halo Canon order is a very precise order of all Halo Media in Order chapter by chapter. I dont recommend it for beginners to the lore. But it is always a choice.
While the other are canon the only ones that are weird is the Halo CEA ones.
They are canon that the chief found them. This was confirmed in the Section 3 ARG. Though its unlikely Chief watched the clips, he did record the info for ONI to use.
On this page they list off the different pelican variants including the post war ones. I bet we are seeing the G79-TC rather than one of the others meaning that cargo space was probably given up in order to have more weapons systems. If this is the case then they probably still use pelicans with larger cargo areas.
This point from the Canon Fodder detailing the Achilles armor is quite telling:
>Fractures in the UNSC’s military power. With the Unified Earth Government stretched to the limits, it has afforded greater autonomy to the megacorporations – approving militarization of their security forces and greater exploitation of colonial subsidiaries in the name of stability and reconstruction. Corporate princes in the boardrooms of Liang-Dortmund, Sinoviet Heavy Machinery, Traxus, and Jakubaitis Standard Systems (among others) have exploited their freedom to expand business empires at the expense of colonies and citizens still reeling from war and economic dislocation. With their high-level business intelligence and planning already dominated by Smart AI’s, these titans of industry may also serve as useful proxies for the Created.
This sounds a great deal like something akin to the British East India Company (EIC) that effectively governed large swaths of land on the Indian subcontinent, enforcing law with their own private land and sea military forces, on behalf of Westminster.
https://www.halowaypoint.com/en-us/community/blog-posts/canon-fodder-armory-amore
This canon fodder talks all about how low level (not Cortana or BB) AI are incorporated into Gen. 2 Mjolnir. In this case the term "AI" refers to more of an adaptive program rather than the full fledged personalities we associate with the term.
But only CINCONI does. Everywhere else they're listed as Firstname-###. None of the Spartans have gone by their birthname since they were brought into the Spartan II Program. None of the Spartans probably even remember their birthname from their childhood. The only ones who would know it is Serin and Naomi who figured out later. Their birthname is more of a background detail than an actual part of their name, much like their date of birth or the planet they're born on. So, if you're listing the characters by name, it should be Frederic-104 or Fred-104, not Frederic Ellsworth. If someone gets married and adopts their spouse's last name, they don't go by their maiden name anymore and on any new records they're listed with their new last name. Even the Halo website lists them as name-number with their former name under it.
I've done a post on this in the past. This entry on Halo Waypoint (Spartan-II section) more or less confirms that there are other survivors, whether it be Red Team, Gray Team, or any other stragglers from wherever Naomi crawled out from. But yeah GI probably just simplified it like you said.
I got the base of his backstory from his Waypoint entry, the rest I've read around here and various blogs. I've never seen a full list of the augmentations the IVs go through, just that they bring them up to SII physical levels in their armor. There is obvoiously a large difference in attitude, mindset, and tactical ability between the IIs and most of the IVs though.
Thank you. :)
The encyclopedia I was referring to is what they've added to the Halo Channel, it has lots of cool little details added. You can access it on Waypoint - https://www.halowaypoint.com/en-us/universe/characters?page=1
I personally loved the way Jonah was still talking down to an Elite, it was already holding him by hes neck and had already sliced off part of his skull with an energy sword.
"When in doubt, blow shit up."
If you're looking for older stuff, there aren't many options. Individual issues and even TPBs are long out of print. Those would only be available through 3rd party sellers or Ebay.
The Halo Oversized Collection has Uprising, Helljumper, and Blood Line.
Dark Horse Halo comics can be purchased on Amazon and through the Dark Horse site, though its mostly just collections now, not individual issues.
I'm not saying they're not canon just because they're data pads.
Their canon is questionable, because Catalog, who does canon Waypoint Q&As, said
>Query Answer: The purported "Assembly" is referenced in logs recovered by Spartan B-312 during combat operations on Reach. This organization appears to be a group of rogue AI constructs which have been observing and guiding humanity. The reliability of this information has been contested.
Not a lot. Some of the tech has seen usage by ODSTs, but for the most part the line has been retired.
>B –While SPI has been mostly phased out of use by Spartan-III operatives, some of the photoreactive plating technology has seen limited but successful use in several spec-ops ODST units.
>Was it explicitly confirmed anywhere?
Yep.
>Q: Is corporal palmer from the Halo: Evolutions story “Palace Hotel" Spartan Sarah Palmer?

>A: No.

By its definition, biomass is "the amount of living matter in a given habitat, expressed either as the weight of organisms per unit area or as the volume of organisms per unit volume of habitat.", and as 343 Guilty spark defines in the beginning of the level Two Betrayals, "...which means that any organism of sufficient mass and cognitive capability is a potential vector."
Now, from what we know of the Flood, they transform their victims into forms made for one of two purposes: combat or infection. Ignoring the fact that reproductive genetic material would most likely not fall under either of these categories, let's say this particular gravemind decided to have his combat forms us ejaculate material as a weapon. More than likely, other parts of the body would also need to be repurposed; let's just say in this case it's the testicles shot out like a squishy double buckshot. In this case, it's not far off to assume the semen would act as some form of a primer to ignite the cumbustion, and it would then in turn have to be use further repurposed materials, ergo, more of the host. So, in this case, if the spunk spilt, some of it is more of you than before.
From an infection form standpoint, however, Jesus milk would most likely be turned into an advanced form of spore delivery. Imagine, for a moment, a carrier form with a host of flailing, guyser-like appendages filled with spores that can burrow into the afflicted area of the victim's skin. Another option, of course, would be using the individual sperm as a means to create infection forms on an incredibly large scale. Again, major repurposing would be required, but it isn't so hard to assume the material could be used as a means to create the fungus-like growths we see all over High Charity and Delta Halo. Imagine a line of carrier forms coating the walls in no-no juice, all in a means to spread the infection on further.
Fascinating.
As mentioned, our Canon Fodder series takes a weekly look at Halo lore, and our Halo 101 series on the Halo Channel also covers a pretty big swath of lore. This one in particular helps drop fans off (literally) at the doorstep of Halo 5: Guardians.
As for community resources, the Halo Canon YT channel is indeed top notch :-) Hope this helps, and thanks for diving back in!
<3 Grim
I gathered some stuff a while back. On mobile, so easier to link than to retype.
Under Team Osiris: "Osiris was created as a particularly diverse amalgamation of different disciplines to aggressively explore cross-branch synthesis – a goal that is rarely achieved, to be sure." made me think of this.
Literally first thing in google mate. Im not saying absolutely everyone hated them but the prometheans pretty much took their place and are pretty much disliked the same amount.
For now. Personally I'd rather use this beast: https://www.halowaypoint.com/en-us/universe/weapons/railgun .
For sure! I want a playable Stanchion. Perhaps as the 'legendary' version of the Sniper Rifle on some multiplayer map.
https://www.halowaypoint.com/en-us/universe/weapons/light-rifle . Hardlight weapons act as ballistics, just as Hardlight bridges act as solid bridges. Sentinel Beams are indeed DEWs though.
I should amend myself and note that it was a day, rather than a few hours, but here's the source:
Someone on the forum asked about the inclusion of a tornado gun, a joke weapon 343i mentioned back in their april fools Canon Fodder post.
Canon Fauxder: https://www.halowaypoint.com/en-us/community/blog-posts/canon-fauxder-believe
On the Halo Waypoint page for Lekgolo:
"Colonies not only have varying degrees of intellectual capacity (generally associated with neural mass), but they also fill specific caste roles. Although more may exist, the Covenant discovered six specific gestalt types: Dipholekgolo, Mgalekgolo, Rhulolekgolo, Sbaolekgolo, Khantolekgolo, and Thanolekgolo. Each of these differing in mass, size, and complexity, and each working to fit specific functional purposes."
:)
Catalog confirmed here that the ODSTs and other non-augmented special forces units are still around, in large part because you can make a lot more of them than you can Spartans.
The new articles are the Wraith, Fist of Rukt, Covenant Honor Guard, Pelican, and Scorpion. It seems like 343i is going to be regularly adding more articles to the Universe section.
You're thinking of Black Team, bro!
As for the Gammas, The Catalog Interaction, which was 343i's way of officially answering lore questions, says that the members of Team Saber that survived Onyx (Ash-G099, Olivia-G291, and Mark-G313) all had their statuses changed to Killed In Action in September 2553 by the UNSC. They had likely joined the Spartan Branch first, as Tom, Lucy, and the rest of Gamma Company did.
On the bright side though, Team Katana, the 5-man-team that Team Saber found during Ghosts of Onyx was said to of been recovering well in Halo: Glasslands and were probably integrated into the Spartan-IV Program like the rest of Gamma Company (Ash's team and peers were the last ones graduating out of the class if I'm remembering correctly).
I want to point out also that Team Saber met their demise the same year that Jul 'Mdama reformed The Covenant. Probably not a coincidence?

From Catalog on waypoint which is considered canon..
Query: What happened to said vessels during the various engagements at Requiem during February 2558 (which I will from now on designate as the Requiem Occupational Campaign)?
Query Answer: Human naval and [frumentarii] records indicate Promethean Command Warship [ref: Mantle's Approach] escorted by [multiple?] Forerunner [smallcraft]. Analysis of [shape-language] and optical characteristics identify these as Z-330 utility vessels. Expected compliment of combat [smallcraft] and [harriers] not noted. Analysis of [multispectral] and [dynamic signal] characteristics indicate Promethean Command Warship lost primary structural control [2552: 0725231423?], with [heart] conducting emergency [slip stream space] translation to [sector] rally point.
It's not quite that bad; the Bestiarum mentions that Earth's population at the time of Halo 3 is about 200 million (still only roughly the size of modern Brazil's).
If you have an amazon account, you can actually see a good chunk of the book for free here
Mouse over the cover page and click "look inside". I didn't count, but I think it gave me around ~30-40 pages of a 200 page book.
Can't link right now as i'm on mobile, but check out "From Harvest to the Ark", "Halo: The Art of War"(quite comedic but still very good) and a few others ill update this with once i get back to my laptop.
The different mediums have different dates though. Paperback has May 30th plus this https://www.amazon.co.uk/Halo-Outcasts-31-Troy-Denning/dp/1668003287/ref=tmm_pap_swatch_0?_encoding=UTF8&qid=&sr= link has different dates for all mediums so I don't think anything has been confirmed yet
> No, you're just wrong about that. Last light says size and musculature. Musculature refers to muscle build, quantity and density. Size refers to their size.
How am I reading it wrong when I'm reading it exactly how I'm supposed to read it?
Musculature is the way that muscles are arranged in the body or part of it. Size refers to how large something is, like you said.
However, in this context, size is referring to muscle size, not height. Why else would musculature be mentioned if this wasn't the case?
This is further reinforced by the fact that Veta was only staring at Ash's arm.
Once his arm was accessible, Veta took his elbow in both hands and checked to see if there were any broken bones. Halo: Last Light Chapter 9
Halo Fractures only reiterates what was implied in Last light, which is the bulk of their muscles and the way they are arranged.
> No one could believe that a Spartan II is a normal person under any circumstances. John has said this, Buck has said this, Halsey has said this, and plenty of others have as well
He was neither too short nor too tall. He wasn’t overly muscled or slim. His black hair was shot with streaks of silver—a feature he hadn’t had before the augmentation. If anyone in the group could blend into a crowd, it would be him.
Fall of Reach Chapter 9
Well, at this point, it's a canonical fact that Fred can blend into a crowd at his height(6'9"), Adriana-111 could also do this. I'm not sure how I'm wrong, when canon explicitly states this.
Based on this, Team Saber can easily be around Fred's height and still "blend into a crowd".
Same as what other guy said, read in release order. But, if you think it might help, there is a comic adaptation of the first novel. Sadly (well not really but mainly for you I guess) , every other comic is it’s own story so if you wanted to know what happens in a novels story, well then you going to have to read said novel.
Now here’s the link to get the comic adaptation of the first halo book, but I will say this, some scenes are left out (ie Chief learning his new abilities or Cortana’s original introduction, small stuff like that). Ok, here it is if you think it would help with getting you started in halo lore https://www.amazon.com/Halo-Fall-Reach-Brian-Reed/dp/1506700772/ref=mp_s_a_1_5?crid=2VBX4K4XSE2HM&keywords=halo+fall+of+reach&qid=1662855289&sprefix=halo+fall+%2Caps%2C100&sr=8-5
The digital version is a month away.
You're going to want to read those books again.
>"It is the way of those who seek out the truth of the Mantle. Humans will rise again in arrogance and defiance. The Flood will return when they are ripe--and bring them unity."
"But most humans are immune," the Didact said. Then he seemed to understand, and lowered his great head between his shoulders like a bull about to charge. "Can the Flood choose to infect, or not to infect?"
The wide, flat head canted to one side, as if savoring some demonic irony. "No immunity. Judgment. Timing.""
--Primordium, page 364. Exchange between the Captive and the Iso-Didact.
>"Only the threat of the Flood itself could have forced me back from utterly extirpating humanity. And that was how the Flood had saved humanity from our wrath: by first infecting, and then withdrawing, and so implying humans knew of a way to combat or avoid the disease. An astonishing strategic feint, one I cannot help but admire."
--Silentium, page 170. Ur-Didact testimony (under compulsion).
> "[...] This knowledge, however acquired, is what forced the Forerunners to preserve remnants of those they defeated, rather than wipe us from the slate of history, as they had so many others before."
>--Primordium, page 227. Spoken by the imprinted essence of Yprin Yprikushma, via Riser.

I'm too busy to skim through now and find out where the question is answered, but Halsey's Journal is available here:
https://www.slideshare.net/Spartan1931/dr-halseys-personal-journal
It provides some other interesting insights and is definitely worth a read!
Ah, Nord is a squeeler then. Ill contact this Mullvad and make my quest easier when the time is right. thank you for bestowing wisdom upon one such as myself, having come up during the time of the Wires of Lime, but never having mastered the rough terrain.
No, those are in-armour values.
>Among all active S-II personnel, Kelly maintains the quickest reflexes and is easily the fastest recorded Spartan, capable of running at speeds in excess of 65kph within current MJOLNIR GEN2 systems.
From here
Yeah, about that... "The Covenant, as an empire, dominated much of the galaxy, though they would generally leave a world untouched unless it offered particular treasures, whether practical or religious." https://www.halowaypoint.com/en-us/universe/factions/covenant
Well aware of that fact, hence why I mentioned it as an issue I have with it. As noted above, the Covenant had dominated much of the Galaxy, and have been around for over 2,000 years, and had discovered the Kig-Yar over a thousand years before the Covenant war and not encountered humanity once in-between that period, despite having rather advanced Slipspace drives and a much greater understanding of it than Humanity (their drives are capable of traveling 36 light years in an hour, as seen in Ghosts of Onyx when the Bloodied Spirit travel to Onyx). While I'm aware that space is huge and that Slipspace travel is a little bit more complicated that a linear path, the extremely closeness of the Kig-Yar home system relative to the Sol System and the fact that the Covenant didn't notice the existence of Humanity until they accidentily arrived on Harvest (a system only 12 light years away from Earth) shows my issue with the scale of Bungie's writing (along with 17 human colonies as mentioned in Contact Harvest, and the (stupid) stats they've given for the weapons in Halo 3).
Okay so my source is pure speculation but we do know it take place after halo 5 and it takes place on the Ark so it is in that retaliative time period .
>The Return of the Spirit of Fire: Experience a riveting campaign which reintroduces the Spirit of Fire to the current Halo timeline, as Captain Cutter and his crew fight a dangerous new enemy intent on conquering everything in their path. Brought to life through detailed in-game graphics and the cinematic artistry of Blur Studio, the story of Halo Wars 2 dives straight into the chaotic state of the Halo universe directly after the events of Halo 5: Guardians.
I would get the Library Edition for Escalation and Initiation. You get the Commentary if you do that :)
if you want a list of all lore try here. Just find what you dont have and give it a go :) Plus it has all the canon marketing so you have that.
Well on the note of the list I do a fully updated list on Waypoint if that helps, that includes marketing. Might help :)
What?
a bipedal primate mammal (Homo sapiens) : a person :
https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/human
You trolling me bro?
Also this one explains it in rather great detail
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Human#Etymology_and_definition
I'm not sure if it contains the Missing Pages (2 of them, they officially released them so you can easily find them online) but here https://www.slideshare.net/Spartan1931/dr-halseys-personal-journal
You can download it here.
I'm still praying that, one day, 343 can release the entire journal as a PDF. Fuck, I'd even pay for that shit if I had to, it'd be worth the money!
