The hardest part is not the long game, imo. But those early years. Oda needs to keep up ratings to keep One Piece alive. And slow/less flashy chapters tend to be low in ranking. But Oda succeed using those early chapters to world build while maintaining OP's popularity.

It's kinda sad when I hear people suggesting new reader/watcher to skip East Blue saga. While it's slower and less flashy than, say, Arabasta/Water7, those early chapters are fantastic warm up to the epic that is One Piece.

Personally I am very attached to the old style, it looked cooler, was more expressive and was much easier for animators to follow.

He was a shichibukai, he could have used the wg port at the red line. The WG also has incredibly huge ships and while they are all equipped to travel the calm belt, it's not impossible to think that they also have a way to get them directly over the red line.

I would say start from where you are in the anime in the manga (so like chapter 864). Catch up to the manga, as the arc is over now, and it's an excellent point to read to.

Then once you did, start reading from the beginning with the color version (as it's very nice and the translation are great), and once you don't have any color chapter left, switch to normal chapters.

Character development doesn't necessarily mean change, it means giving the character depth. That's why people saying that One Piece doesn't have character development are wrong, it doesn't have a lot of character "change" or "growth" but all the characters are developed and fleshed out. And in that sense, Sanji is way more developed than Robin who had almost all her development in Water7/Ennies Lobby (though I love Robin and she's in my top 3 characters of One Piece).

As someone who has cosplayed Zoro, I have a few recommendations:

1. For the swords I would checkout SwordsAxe. These are what I use and they are great. Though I did have to repaint Shusui to look right.

2. You may already have it, but you can get a clip on of his earrings on Amazon that work well.

3. I saw you mention that you couldn't get the bandana to stay even on your arm. What I did was get a slightly bigger piece of black, stretchier fabric (compared to a typical bandana) so I could tie it off on my arm above my bicep. You may have to re-tie it depending on how long you wear it, but this worked for me.

4. What shoes will you wear with it? I've found basic black boots work well.

Your costume is great as is, and these are things you could do if you plan to continue to dress up as the greatest swordsman. I cosplay him at least once whenever I make it to a convention, so it was worth it to upgrade the props.

Lastly, as someone who has only done pre-timeskip Zoro, your robe is amazing and I hope when I eventually do post timeskip my robe looks that good.

You don't seem to understand how big the marketing is for one piece in Japan, everything includes one piece. You can't turn your head without seeing one piece. Cross over for monster hunter? You don't think one piece don't have cross over with monster hunter? Although getting a cross over with monster hunter isin't really a big deal, even inuyasha has cross over with the newest monster hunter, and that manga ended ages ago.

This wont even get the eye of Bandai unless it gets at least 100k signatures. You're better off importing it like I will.

It's never been stated that his abilities cut his life if he uses them. For G2 specifically he said he wasn't strong enough to use it properly yet during EL (which explains why he has less and less of an issue with the drawback as pre-TS progresses, and none at all post-TS; his "base" strength caught up with his upgrade). G3 and G4 have completely different drawbacks. Or rather G3 did, and G4's will probably become less of an issue over time too.

I actually completely agree with you because the focus of One Piece as a series IS adventure and exploration. Now that I think about it, a One Piece mod for FTL would be great!

The only reason I would want a fighting game though is because compared to open world/exploration games, I believe that fighting games are a tad simpler to make. I also used UNS as an example though there are probably better examples but I 100% agree if someone made a good adventure/exploration One Piece game I would be all over it.

For a good question I would personally advise that you ask about observations you've made in the series and whether or not Oda can elaborate on them. I know SBSes are quite varied and sometimes whack but a lot of great extra tidbits can be gleaned from them especially when you've read or reread an arc in the manga.

Just aim to stand out of the crowd and be unique in the flood of SBS questions Oda and Shueisha get. For example Redon from AP asked this question early in Dressrosa:

I expect him to be the Brain of the Beast Pirates, the one who deal with eveything to make the machine work. I don't see him as stronger than Jack, but as someone more dangerous as Jack (So someone who honned enough to be a beast, but not necesserly with as much strenght as Jack).

Well, there were 597 chapters pre-timeskip, and the timeskip is the halfway point, so there should also be 597 chapters post-timeskip, meaning that the manga should end with chapter 1194. The current chapter (as of Wednesday's leaks) will be 749. For the past few months, Oda has gone on break about 1 week per month, give or take some bigger breaks, so I will do two calculations: one with no breaks (1 chapter every week), and one with 2 weeks of breaks every month (1 chapter every 2 weeks). The actual end date should be somewhere in the middle.

1194-749 = 445 chapters left.

Calculation 1: 445/52 = 8 years and 29 weeks (from 2 weeks from tomorrow, or December 21, 2022, since I am assuming constant output every week despite a 2 week break)

Calculation 2: 445/26 = 17 years and 6 weeks (from 1 week from tomorrow, or June 25, 2031, since I am assuming a constant repeating cycle of "break", "manga", "break", "manga", etc.)

I think based on what he says here the possibility of him joining the RA isn't too far fetched. The marines are not a separate entity, it's a branch of the WG's military. The revolutionaries aren't pirates, bandits or plunderers. They are on the side of the people, their aim is to free the world from the shackles of the tenryuubito and the world government. I'm sure the reality of the situation is more nuanced and that just like the WG the revolutionaries bring both good and bad things with them.

Well, the One Pace website has been remade (I think, pretty sure it didn't look this way though.) On trello it says they are currently working on the Davy Backfight arc and Skypiea and for the future they are going to finish Skypiea then do Impel Down and Marineford.

Im not 100% sure of this, as im not part of it, its just what i gather from these sites. Hope they are going full speed ahead though, i heard there were some issues.

Chapters 50 - 52 are the chapters that got me hooked on One Piece. The absolute wall that is Mihawk, the first time we see a Strawhat lose, and Zoro's showing of loyalty to Luffy and the way of Swordsmen. An introduction into the immense powers of One Piece.

for reading the Manga i do suggest the digitally colored version, it's only up to chapter 763 but it's still nice, i end up noticing details that i missed when first reading the chapter in only black/white and imo really just adds to the manga in general

I don't know any particular sites off the top of my head, but come to think of it a widescreen anime may be difficult to extract vertical gifs from in the first place, unless you're looking for sideways ones. In any case I would find gifs on Google Images, save them, and then crop them as needed with ezgif.com. That's of course assuming you can set your background to a gif to begin with, and if you can then that sounds like a death sentence for your battery.

If you cant afford supporting the series legally that's okay. The costs add up buying the releases. I don't even own all of them yet. But, as a fan; what you can do is watch the series online legally. Here you are good sir.

It was a perfectly reasonable mistake . however it was underestimating luffy . Also he knew luffy did beat cracker that could have ringed some bells . Lets just look at the dictionary description of underestimate

And that is exactly what he did he failed to guess what it would take to kill luffy.

The only source I know of for info on the subject tracks years with each year starting and ending in mid-November (I'm not entirely sure why, offhand), but they show One Piece with a slight edge over the course of the year.

Of course, AoT released 6 volumes in that period to One Piece's 3, and as AoT gained popularity much more recently, more of the fans are buying older volumes at the moment.

If you look at top-selling volumes instead of series, One Piece had numbers 1, 2, <em>and</em> 3, with AoT holding 4,5, and 6 (and some lower spots).

Not sure in 20 more volumes or 20 total volumes but either way that is at least 2+ years.

I started reading the manga for the first time recently and finished the Marineford arc yesterday. Here is a picture showing half of his face gone and no injury suffered upon his back towards the end of the arc. It's been a long time since I watched the arc from the anime but I can't remember his face going unless someone can reference me a link or anything. Manga reference in colour.

Again, a lot of people are reading too much into real time (i.e., time in our world for Oda to draw the series). Oda has said that he intended to be done with the series in 5 years in the beginning, but acknowledged that he was only halfway there in 2009. He has also said that the &quot;story&quot; is halfway through more recently after the 2 year time skip . Pretty much he has no clue and doesn't want to talk about it, but the general consensus is that post-timeskip is the second part of the series. As for the amount time it'll take him to flush out everything, he DOES NOT KNOW HIMSELF how long it'll take.
