It's simple enough to check if this is case. Download this MD5 checksum app:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=leonidpeter.hashstamp
And run it against the latest update (9.0.3, OTA45).
If your MD5 checksum matches mine, you're fine and this is just tinfoil hattedness:

You didn't specify where you are, but I've had a decent run with this one on Amazon (it's a two pack).
The reviews aren't great - as aren't many. Personally if I'd review it I'd give it a 4/5. As someone pointed out, it has a black bezzle that goes into the LCD visual area about 1mm all around. I'm not sure what the next best bet is
Just got this one from Amazon US: Oneplus 5t case, KuGi SS [Scratch Resistant] Premium Flexible Soft Anti Slip TPU Case for Oneplus 5t smartphone (Black) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B076RM928N/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_oYtoAbC7Q6DV7 Feels alright, but not so soft as the OP one. It also has raised edges around the screen and camera which is really important. Plus there are small air buffers in the corners to absorb impact.
Let me know if you need help.
I honestly don't think so. Samsung does it because it's kinda inevitable to touch the screen on the edges.
But check out this app, I love it https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.niftyui.reachability
You can use these app. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.arjanvlek.oxygenupdater It immediately anounce your that there is an update for the phone and you can also download it directly from the app and do a local update. Good luck
Ok so what I did has fixed the issue. So if prior to the update your phone had WiFi calling it will still be on, however they have now hidden the options for "prefer WiFi over network" so by installing the app it opened the hidden options.
This is what I used https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.wilysis.cellinfolite
And this opens your options back up.
What you have said about *#800# no longer works for the option you need unfortunately (or at least the option I needed).
I use this app which turns up the volume automatically each time I connect to the car stereo via Bluetooth.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=eu.darken.bluemusic
For my job I have to get in and out of the car quite frequently during the day so I find it very helpful.

Download the above app "Oxygen updater".
When downloading do not use the app's downloading button. Copy the link and use your browser to start your download. Otherwise your download will break after sometime and you would need to restart the whole process again.
All other instructions will be there in the app.
Hope this helps.
You can just download the Oxygen Updater app. It does it all for you. I use it all the time. By the way your links link to older versions of Android, not Pie for those models that can get it. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.arjanvlek.oxygenupdater

I've used this. But if you're afraid to use a third party app, you can manually calibrate your battery as well.
It involves charging your phone to 100%, keep charging it for 30 extra minutes (so the battery is truly 100) then let it completely discharge until the phone shuts off. Charge it to 100% again and the battery should be calibrated. (Google for a more detailed calibration charge cycle).
I mean I use this and like them better than OEM honestly. The glue seems to be on more places and doesn't seem to shatter as easy when compared to OEM. I dropped it multiple times and broke in 3 places but still no spider web shattering.
And OEM is also more expensive .
I bought just one of these near beginning of 2018. Still have the second glass, but first one is doing very good, I have 2 spots chipped off on either side. And the bottom is all chipped off. But still not severe shattering.
Meanwhile the OEM one shattered within weeks.
Would add picture of phone. But like I don't have another phone/tablet.
Maybe I'll borrow someone's device to add pics later
I have Derpfest and I love it. You might like Derpfest bare though, a minimalistic version.
Try downloading the correct Google play services. Check your app info for Google play services for the version number. I updated it from v440xxxx to v940xxxx on 5.0 but now on 5.1 I can't confirm that I'm on the correct version anymore :/. Anyway when I updated it solved my problem with Google play services stopped working and one app that backs up to Google drive started working again.
This is the link to the version I have installed right now on oxygen 5.1.5.
I'm on Lineage OS right now which doesn't have it. Instead of looking like this, it should be a full album art as the notitication

I have used this to mirror my screen and control it on my computer, but it requires you to have enabled developer options, and added your computer as a trusted device. I have in the past gotten screen mirroring working on a phone that was not touch-responsive, but the screen was still on by enabling developer options, plugging it into my laptop, and then connecting a bluetooth keyboard to the phone so that i could click 'accept' when the pop-up comes up when i tried to access the phone via adb for screen mirroring.
I've been thinking about what you could do, and the best i could come up with would be either try and enable developer options by blindly clicking on the screen (by trying to remember where the settings app is, and blindly navigating within it.) Or maybe getting the wifi enabled by blindly clicking to enable wifi, and then maybe figuring out how to cast to a tv so you can see what is on the screen (also by bilndly clicking.) Or you could look into enabling the accessibility settings in android (i don't know how to do that, but you could look it up) maybe there is a way to enable it without being able to see the screen.
Sorry none of these seem to be a perfect answer, but good luck!
OP, check this out. It's an app that runs over ADB on your computer (nothing to install on your phone) that mirrors your phone to your computer.
I am pretty sure you can use this to figure out a way to access like backup apps or something, maybe run a backup app on your phone, and then plug it in and copy the backup data from Android File Manager.
The 5t doesn't have video out through usb c but if you had USB debugging enabled and paired with your computer, you can use a tool like scrcpy to mirror your screen using adb
Hey mate. There are plenty of parallel apps in the playstore. The one that commonly everyone refers to is Island. It has shown to work perfectly up until now on most custom ROMs and even stock ROMs that don't have parallel apps built-in feature.
I can say that my 5T also requires me to calliberate compass a lot but I do think it has something to do with Gyroscope as well, this one doesn't have very accurate gyro and since your phone is tilted at 45° maybe it has got something to do with that.
install accubattery and use it for few days to know your battery health it will help you make a decision .
My 5T will also complete 4 years this december its camera guard came out and dust setlled in the camera lens during the pandemic, so now camera is just useless and battery health is at 76% and doesn't last that long but I dont want to get rid of it because 1. I like metal & slim body 2. I have become less mobile enthusiast 3. I dont want to add e-waste, so i will push this one to the limit.
I put this one on 3 years ago and still running strong. It is absolutely smaller than the screen and must be placed perfectly but if you're okay with that, it's a good product.
Oneplus 5T Screen Protector,... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0782FX11J?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
Check the app Accubattery it has a lot of features but look at the battery health tab. Mine says 81%. It might take a few charges to populate.
Buy a SUPCASE Unicorn Beetle https://www.amazon.com/SUPCASE-Unicorn-Designed-Protector-Rotating/dp/B07BSZBHN5. I drop my 5T and never sweat it. Been dropped hundreds of times from 3 to 5 feet, no worries here. Love my 5T, android 9 is solid for me with root + Oxygen OS 9.0.11.
A lot of glass screen protectors for the 5T were not case friendly - they would bubble up, something about the way the screen had a slight curve to it. OnePlus's first-party protectors for example only fit their first party cases. I had been using Spigen's (currently out of stock on Amazon, unfortunately) glass screen protector, that worked fine, it was hard for me to put on but the person at T-Mobile put it on for me just fine, though noted the screen had that slight curve to it or whatever. Later on I just switched to this SUPCASE Unicorn Beetle Pro case which has a plastic screen protector, side bumpers, the screen raised up, and port covers, and I honestly feel a lot more comfortable and steady with this than with the glass screen protector I used to have on.
I use jOnePlus to bypass the geo-blocking of the call recording, doesn't require unlocking or rooting, only permissions using adb
Just get it by using Oxygen Updater from the play store...
You can get back the old gestures by downloading the app setEdit and changing "op_gesture_button_side_enabled" to 0.
This toggles a hidden setting on your device and shouldn't cause any problems. The animations and even the guides in settings are all still part of the OS, and this feature works just like it's actually supported
You just have to download the application from outside Google Play: https://www.apkmirror.com/apk/oneplus-ltd/nord-launch/nord-launch-2-0-20-release/nord-launch-2-0-20-android-apk-download/
Then install it by this app: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.apkmirror.helper.prod&hl=en
Theirs a fix for that too! I found it on the OnePlus community forums. It may be on here too.
I used this:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=by4a.setedit22
Go to system table and look for "op gesture button side enable" and then change the number from "1' to "0".

How to return old gestures, post from xda
No root required
1. Download this Settings Editor app https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=by4a.setedit22
2. Open it
3. Choose "System Table"
4. Search for "op_gesture_button_side_enabled"
5. Set its value to "0"
To revert you'll have to set "1" to that property
DO NOT, I repeat DO NOT modify anything else, you might just break something.

What are you using to play the music to? Headphones? I have the Topping NX4 DSD and I use Power Amp to play all my Flac and DSD files if I'm not using Tidal.

Haha, nice! The command line app is called Termux. It's a mini linux system operation in a form of an app (really). It lets you install linux command line programs inside it. The one I use to remove dots is called GMIC", an image processing program. You may want to start reading about Termux and GMIC, and later in the day I'll come back with further instructions.
Well, since you're novice to that, I'm gonna tell you the easy graphical way first.
If you really want to try the command line way, let me know. But the Photo Editor one is what I normally use.
If your not opposed to backing it up on a computer then I would recommend xender to share files via WiFi network to your computer. Here's the link to the party store page:
It's the same problem with dark keyboards and rif reddit dark mode. There is an app called Navbar Apps https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=pl.damianpiwowarski.navbarapps
It can turn your nav bar dark, but you lose contextual color change using it.
Im in UK but I got my (slightly battered) but still perfectly good OnePlus 5t for £180 ($231) a battery needed replacing and that cost £30 ($38) including tools. Here is a [toolkit]https://www.amazon.com/Precision-Screwdriver-Lifegoo-Eyeglasses-Electronic/dp/B07X22NQYX/ref=mp_s_a_1_14?keywords=t1+screwdriver&qid=1574785372&sprefix=t1+scre&sr=8-14 that will work fine. If this is unavailable try any kit with t1 bit and pry tool. You may not need this but is possible if you are considering an older phone. Here is a link to a video that will also help.video
I don't remember exactly but I'm pretty sure it's the same size. I don't notice the edges even with my low profile case. It installs really easily so that helps it stay unnoticed too.
Here's the link to it. Have fun
If you don't have it in "settings /updates", download the Oxygen Updater app and make sure in settings it's set to incremental updates. Download 9.0.1 and follow the install instructions.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.arjanvlek.oxygenupdater
For those that are curious in what Gcam version I used it's the latest version (MGC_6.1.021_BSG_Arnova-based_v.1.3c_fix_TlnNeun_xcam_5_beta6.apk). I also use Manual Camera Pro (Paid) version off the Play Store, I use it over the default stock camera app because it gives me a little more control, this picture hasn't gone through any editing just straight off the camera (Gcam). (Link to Manual Camera - https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=pl.vipek.camera2&hl=en)
there are a bunch of different ones, but obviously they will only let you use swipe up if you're still on Android Oreo. I was using this one.
Gotcha.
You definitely should not lose data doing an OTA update, sorry that happened
I'd recommend getting the oxygen updater app: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.arjanvlek.oxygenupdater
Set it to OP5t and get the Full Update, not incremental or beta and you will be good to go. I think 9.0.3 is the latest, its safe and stable.
You can use OnePlus' site too, but it's not always the most recent build: https://www.oneplus.com/support/softwareupgrade/details
I'm in UK and I have it. You need to use the Oxygen Updater app set to incremental updates. Download then follow instructions. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.arjanvlek.oxygenupdater
Try these. Honestly these were hands down the best ones I've ever used. They stick incredibly well and last for a decent amount of time. I've spent close to 80 bucks and they all either didn't stick or fell off on one drop or somehow had dust sneak under. Also i paired it with the unicorn beetle but used a knife to pull the plastic screen out. Works decently. Dmas brand something like that
If you're rooted try Oxygen Slider. It gives you a lot more options on what happens in each state and you can rearrange position of the profiles on the slider.

As you can see I have no status bar, and also the app drawer is hidden. The app drawer is opened by pressing on the home button.
You can try Send Anyware - it works on all platforms and almost the same way like airdrop (with ability to discover nearby devices). iOS version
Ah yeah, it does cover the left and right a bit. But it's barely noticeable. I'm pretty sure this one covers less than the OEM one however
For aligning, I use a Spigen Case, which makes it so easy to install. Without the case, it's about the same as the OEM one.
It's alright, had it since February.
OnePlus 5 Wallet Case, Jaorty Genuine Leather Folio Flip Case Cover Book Design with Kickstand Feature with Card Slots/Cash Compartment for OnePlus 5 (5.5") - Dark Brown https://www.amazon.com/dp/B075ZQKRHZ/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_n94kBb46FN0GJ
Instead of a kickstand case you can just get a hardback case and either a PopSocket or personally I much prefer this.
Both go really well together. Super minimalistic looking, real clean, and the case has a nice rubberised plastic feel to it. Highly recommend.
I have both the OEM one from OnePlus as well as the Basstop case from Amazon. I personally find the look and feel of the Amazon one a lot better. It also feels a bit thinner and the grip on the sides are pretty good.

I'm sorry to hear about your OEM. Maybe a bad batch? Should give orzly a shot. It's 9 bucks for a 2 pack. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B077NK8KYM/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_mlcwAbCHZTRZX
