Use send anywhere ( file transfer)
It works very well..
Install it on both phone and you can transfer APK from one phone to the other
One redditor had the same problem a few days ago, I adviced him to use that apps, which he did and it worked perfectly...
Use the app call send anywhere. Install it on both phones and you can send apps from one another very easily
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.estmob.android.sendanywhere
The app will create a 6 digits number that you enter in the receiving phones and that's all... Very easy to use
No IAP.
"Free file sharing with no limitations on file or device type, size, or amount."
EDIT: Check out ssavr.com for sending files over wifi. No app needed
When you say "transfer your music," are you talking about copying MP3s or some other audio file from computer to phone? If you don't want to buy a cable, you can use the cloud (dropbox or drive, for example) to upload from computer to cloud and then download from cloud to phone. The only problem is that you have to go file by file, you can't do folders at a time.
You can also use an app, like this one.
All that said, a A-to-C cable is not that expensive and is probably the easiest approach. The one I use is less then $7.
Send Anywhere can transfer from Android-to-Android, Android-to-PC, Android-to-web, and vice-versa. It can use WiFi-Direct for phone-to-phone transfers. Uses Internet for all others, including phone-to-phone if desired.
The sending device creates a code that is used by the other device to receive.
It could read my ext SD card on an OS prior to 7.0, but I haven't used it with a 7.0+ ext SD card.
SendAnywhere. Really love this app. Been using it for years. Can send files to desktop or another phone. Fast. No size limit. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.estmob.android.sendanywhere
I use Send Anywhere
You send it by uploading the content to their servers and sending a link or you can transfer it device to device. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.estmob.android.sendanywhere
I am not affiliated with them and just like the product.
You can use an app like SendAnywhere or upload to a cloud service like Dropbox or Google Drive, then download onto your device.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.estmob.android.sendanywhere
Send anywhere. I got it to transfer between my android and iPhone, and realised I could install the desktop version on my surface and my laptop too.
It's faster and more reliable than uploading to OneDrive / Box / whatever, and you can also (on any device) click 'share this item' and it generates a code number that you can email / text to someone else, so you can share to people who don't have the app.
No file size limits either as far as I'm aware.
Send Anywhere can do that, without using data. Not the best UI but it works between Android and iOS I've used it a while ago.
I currently have the 3 XL.
Nothing's stopping anyone from just keeping the 3 XL for the photo/video backup.
(We've got until January 31st 2022. OG Pixels have it forever.)
We can transfer the Pixel 5 4K 60fps videos to Pixel 3 (XL) via Send Anywhere app, then let the Pixel 3 (XL) automatically backup to Google Photos.
My friends and I have been using Send Anywhere to transfer our photos and videos in original quality for years now.
We have a mixture of iPhone and Android users in our group so it works perfectly after every group event.

I never used it. I guess I never will.
Thanks for the update, though.
Edit: After some reading, I remember trying it for a day when I had a G6. It wasn't very fast I didn't use it after that. I now use send anywhere app and it works pretty well with over 10MB/second transfer rate.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.estmob.android.sendanywhere&hl=en_CA
There are a few different apps that will work for you. Buy the thing and search the app store. You won't be disappointed.
Send Anywhere is the one I used to use before I started using the cloud. Works so good I bought it.
EDIT: Chrome Remote Desktop is also something to consider. And if you want an easy was to send Chrome tabs from one device to another, try Dolphin Connect. Not related, but I find it very useful. Maybe you will too.
I used to use superbeam but it hasn't been updated in years.
If you want something that's still being updated and has all the features try using Send Anywhere.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.estmob.android.sendanywhere
One huge feature it has that superbeam doesn't have is the ability to start the transfer without having to confirm on the second device. More modern UI too!
Send Anywhere. Works like a charm. Transfers anything with no size limit from/to any kind of device (Windows, macOS, Android, iOS) and has native apps for all mentioned OSes.
Send Anywhere encrypts files during transfer, and only the sender needs to install an app. The receiver can use the send-anywhere website to retrieve the file via a 6-digit code created on your side.
AFT is utter shit. Lately I came across Send Anywhere, it's so powerful and works on all major platforms.
If you still want to use USB to transfer your files, there's an app called HandShaker. (Didn't try it but I heard it's better than AFT)
You can try Send Anyware - it works on all platforms and almost the same way like airdrop (with ability to discover nearby devices). iOS version
I know, it really is a bummer, Xender, an alternative sis even worse, with some really intrusive ads Send Anywhere gets the job done and has been good so far.
Send Anywhere. Supports WiFi direct and WiFi transfer for devices that don't support WiFi Direct. Supports any transfer combination of phones and/or PCs.
Is your wife still using an iPhone?
Because for Android phones, WiFi-Direct works pretty well, but iPhones can't use WiFi-Direct if I remember right. I remember trying this a few years back.
Android Beam won't work well either since it's essentially just using Bluetooth to send after creating a link using NFC. But
A lot of the sharing features on the Note8 supports Samsung devices very well, decent for other Android devices, but not that well for iPhones.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.estmob.android.sendanywhere
I've used that to send files to iPhone friends.
Honestly though, I would just use the "Link Sharing" or share a Google Photos link instead, and have her download the ones she likes.
I use SendAnywhere. Hands down the BEST app. It works exactly like Airdrop on iPhone/iPads. The speeds are extremely fast. Much faster than side sync and other apps. Give it a try https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.estmob.android.sendanywhere&hl=en
Personally I use Send anywhere or Fotoswipe
I stay away from cloud services cause I don't want my pictures floating around in the cloud where they can be retrieved by anyone who knows how to get at them. Cloud isn't safe at all. Direct sharing is best.
My vote is for Send Anywhere it's really simple, and super fast. I use it regularly to transfer pics between phone and computer. Works over the network so there's no cloud involved and when the networks isn't there it works over data as most apps do. I enjoy it.
I read the article, and as soon as I heard about this I started taking advantage of it. And it's awesome.
If anyone wants a good, quick tutorial about how to do this, here you go:
How To Run Android Apps On Chrome: https://youtu.be/KYsT8l1IT5U
So now I'm running Android apps on my Windows PC. Of course, I'm somewhat ashamed to admit, some of the first apks I installed were for HD Cinema and Show Box. But now I also have Viral Pro, Cloud Magic, Reddit News (Relay for Reddit), and other apps right on my computer.
The only issues I've encountered are:
I have to use my mouse/touchpad for the apps (for some reason the touchscreen capabilities of my computer don't work for the apps when they are on my computer)
Not all apps work. 80% (from what I've tried so far) work fine, but apps like Type Mail (Blue Mail) and calandar apps didn't.
If anyone was wondering, I transferred the apks from my Note 4 to my computer using the app and pc software Send Anywhere. It's a high quality app:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.estmob.android.sendanywhere
Anyway, I can't wait to see where all this goes. It's great to have Android apps on my PC. Damn... the Windows App Store sucked!
Send anywhere - A very easy to use app to transfer files using the local network to other phones/computers
I use Send Anywhere
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.estmob.android.sendanywhere
Install this on both phones
How is this different from Send Anywhere
Send Anywhere supports bi-directional file transfers via an app or web browser.
Here are some free apps I suggest...
After that once you get comfortable with the settings and UI of the base device I suggest you try some launchers out, as they can be easily switched back and forth to and from with a single setting change. My favourite is Smart Launcher 5 but to get all the features of it you'd want you would have to pay for it, and then there is Nova Launcher, which is more popular, KISS Launcher on F-Droid Store (which has nothing to do with the band), versions of the default Google Launcher, and others.
Oh and if you have multiple Email Accounts I suggest BlueMail. Also clipboard managers aren't the greatest on Android but a fairly good one is ArsClip. Also from my experience always go with 3rd party weather apps as they almost always are more accurate than included ones on Asian branded phones.
Send anywhere https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.estmob.android.sendanywhere&hl=en
And visit https://send-anywhere.com/ to send it from a desktop
I use Send Anywhere
send anywhere seems promising
I really like Send Anywhere for transferring files between my Chromebook at work and my desktop PC at home. It'd work equally well for sending files to and from your Android phone.
Chrome Web Store: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/send-anywhere-file-transf/hihbikoooaenkpdooehgemieligjejcb?hl=en
Google Play: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.estmob.android.sendanywhere

Not totally sure if this will solve the problem, but it tends to be the solution to lost cables. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.estmob.android.sendanywhere&hl=en
However your prefer, there's loads of apps. I use https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.estmob.android.sendanywhere
For example https://i.imgur.com/uE6L8dd.png
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.estmob.android.sendanywhere awesome app that works in both android, iOS and in tour browser.
Possibly Send Anywhere? It sounds like what you're looking for.

Or use Google Drive. You're using MMS, it can't handle video.
Been using this for years
I recommend Send Anywhere
The only app worth using for this is Send Anywhere
I use send anywhere https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.estmob.android.sendanywhere It is extremely fast
After rereading what you said, you need a phone that has had wireless charging come with it. <strong>Send Anywhere (File Transfer)</strong> - Free - Rating: 95/100 - Search for 'Hue Pro' on the <strong>Play Store</strong>. ------. ^Source ^Code ^| ^Feedback/Bug ^report.
Send anywhere is really cool and pleasant to use https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.estmob.android.sendanywhere

Have you tried this one out? Send anywhere
Edit: sorry link was broken. Edit edit: there's no playstore bot here? That would be super useful.
