I've learned a lot of my current programming skills from making small games in a program called Game Maker but for the last few years, I haven't really created anything gaming related. This game and it's development made me want to make games again. I've since downloaded Unity Personal Edition and started following some tutorials (start here!).

Now, I don't think I'll get a chance to ever work at a project like this, but it somehow inspired me to pick up creating small games again. It'll just be a hobby I guess, but as long as I enjoy it, I'll keep doing it :D

In the future, I recommend that you do some digital color correction so the drawing stands out more when it's displayed on a screen. If you don't have GIMP already, you can get it for free, then just open the image and choose Colors → Auto → White Balance.

If you update it to 2.81 (experimental download link here), they introduced intel's denoiser. To use it, go into the compositing tab, add a new node (shift A by default) and search "denoise", connect it up like this, and it will remove all that grainy noise in the image (particularly noticable around the torches).

You can download a program called DS4Windows and it will make your ps4 controller into an xbox controller. I think they even updated it so that the ps5 controller works with it, but I don't have one, so I can't say for sure if it works. I used it for both Ori games, and then some other games like Forza Horizon, Terraria, etc.. and it worked perfectly fine.

It's also pretty handy when you want to remap some buttons, because as far as I know there is no way to remap in the Ori games, so you can just change the button assignments inside of the DS4windows app. (Like for example in The Will of the Wisps one ability is binded to a completely different button, and I couldn't get used to it, so I just remapped it to what it was in The Blind Forest, and beat the game with that.)

It does not support ps4 to my knowledge BUT you can use a program to basically make your computer see it as xinput/ an xbox controller.

I personally use ds4windows and it works great.

I wouldn't bother using Steam's controller mapping. I recommend you download something called the DS4 Tool. This will let you either mask the DS4 as an XBox controller, or it will reconfigure windows to work correctly with the DS4. All I had to do was install it and every time you want to use the DS4, just run the program. It even lets you configure the light-bar and control the mouse with the touch pad. I've had no issues with it so far.

Specs seems solid.

Updated all kinds of drivers? Configured in-game settings? V-sync ON/OFF?

Have you tried rebooting the computer only to start the game upon bootup?

DirectX updated to correct version?

Tons of possibilites.. Also worth googling around. The chances are someone else have also experienced it through all this time.

Relogging may help in some cases.

Also stuck on 97% for the energy achievement, along with "completing the game", "purchasing all maps", and "upgrade all shards". Moon Studios is investigating/trying to fix these issues (per their Twitter)... among others. Had got softlocked behind a bug roadblock. thankfully they included the backup save system.

You're not alone, performance is not great even on XB1X. A patch is in the works but I imagine it'll be a case of waiting for several patches before performance becomes good rather than just less bad.
