1) Portal 2 is in the same place, but just presumably a couple thousand years in the future (I don't know this for sure though), and it does explore more of the place.
2) There's no way to change anything in the final cutscene.
3) He has his own comic, called "Lab Rat". You can read it here: http://www.thinkwithportals.com/comic/#1
EDIT: Removed part of my answer from 2 due to spoiler reasons.
I bought it. Since I don't live far from the seller, I got it a day after he shipped it!
amazon.com/13-Inch-Wheatley-Personality-Plush/dp/B00IA8525C
He is totally worth the $35.48. The fabric on his handles is so soft. Only problem I had is that his bottom eyelid is a little crooked.
Most of this information comes from sources outside of the games themselves - game commentary, <em>Lab Rat</em>, the ending credits, and other official stuff released by Valve.
That said, GLaDOS's name is in Her Chamber in Portal 1.
Chell was not the only survivor as we learn in both portal 2 and the comics.
Doug Rattman was the one responsible for moving Chell to the top of the testing list. Which is why she was the first to get tested. Its not totally clear why. In the comics her file talks about her being "abnormally stubborn. Never gives up" and she was not even intended to be tested.
Its confirmed that Chell has a Father who worked at Aperture Science, as shown in the Portal 2 room with the "Bring your Daughter to work day" Potatoes. One of them has the name Chell written next to it and some text about a "secret incredient" from dads work.
Overall most Test Subjects are held in either Rooms, which are probably filled with special gas to keep the subject alive. Or in the sleeping pods ( which are probably filled with the same gas )
In the beginning of Portal 2, Wheatley talks about you being the only survivor. During the destruction of GLaD0S in Portal 1 the power went out. Rattman, who was shot by a turret in the foot, knew that the backup power soon will run out and therefore he rewired to power to only go to chells room. He probably died after that, but it is never actually confirmed.
Because of that all other subjects soon died and after an unknown amount of time, chell wakes up and Portal 2 begins.
How rattman survived is unknown. But if you want to check out the comics go for it: http://www.thinkwithportals.com/comic/?l=en Its not long.
Fun fact, the ending actually changed when portal 2 was released. The original ending had you black out after making it outside. Since valve wanted to have the same protagonist for portal 2, they changed the ending so you get dragged back inside by the party escort robot.
Also, the party escort associate is mentioned when you first escape the fire. Glados says to "assume the party escort position or you will miss the party". This position is laying down, and the party is a joke about a party with cake. In the current ending, the party escort bot thanks you for assuming the party escort position. Of course, I can't say much more without spoiling Portal 2, so you will have to play that to find out what happens next.
I would recommend reading this free comic that was released as a teaser prior to Portal 2.
Conversion was cancelled; dunno why. One of the devs working on Conversion decided to develop his own mod using the Conversion-concepts: <em>prePostscript</em>.
Portal 1 is around 3 hours long. Portal 2 is 8-10 hours. You should play through Portal 1 first as that sets everything up for Portal 2. Portal 1 is a bit repetitive but don't make the same mistake I did and give up on it halfway thinking you've got 100 of those same test chambers to complete, cause the ending is something special. Portal 2 is also way way more interesting environment and story wise.
Also, in between the two games, read this comic:
http://www.thinkwithportals.com/comic/
Oh and save Portal 2 co-op mode for after you've played through the single player campaign. That's really short but uses some environmental features that would be best kept as a surprise for the single player campaign.
Read this for the second point.
For the first point... the song is irrelevant. I mean after the first game she was inactive, she would have been unable to sing and in the second game she makes references to how Chell murdered her. Indicating she was dead after Portal, making the whole premise of the song incorrect.
There is an android app that is a portal 2 soundboard. It has the options to set any clip to ringtone, notification, or alarm.
http://www.doubletwist.com/apps/android/portal-2-soundboard/ch.nexusinformatik.soundboard.portal2/
There's a Portal 2 prequel comic that covers this: Portal 2: Lab Rat
Edit: I mean I see your point, and you arent neccesarily wrong, but it also seems clear (to me) from the comic that the tutorial and beginning subject are both Chell in the same room during and after a long sleep. The different painting may be a choice by the designers to foreshadow the finale.
https://steamdb.info/app/317400/subs/
I don't know if its something else but here's how I did it. I went to the link above, went into the store and there it said that it was in my library and said I could play it, then it searched for Steam Games updates and just bugged. So I restarted Steam -> Stories store page, clicked play again and now I could install it :> GL!
Since you have American money I assume you're in America. In that case:
Seems like you have just enough friend.
The 'Cat Jumped Over The Moon', top left; foreshadowing?
Wonder if GLaDOS/Rat Man considers Chell as the cat from the thought experiment*: she was trapped in a room with neurotoxin (eventually twice) and survived...or in the case of Portal 1: [the player probably] died a bunch of times but kept coming back, so Chell's both alive and dead, I suppose?
*. ~~14~~ 16 mins later: Just read the comic and Rat Man makes a more logical reference to her being Schrodinger's Cat here
Just downloaded it. Can't wait to give it a listen-through, although I'm kind of disappointed that Power Mad doesn't appear to be on the album. That's easily one of my favorite tracks.
e: Scratch that. The track is titled "I AM NOT A MORON!" Fantastic!
If you own the Hydra Controller, you will be able to download and play additional Portal 2 levels specifically designed for the controller. Here is an excerpt from the FAQ regarding the Razer Hydra controller.
>Q: I heard about these bonus Portal 2 levels from Sixense? What are they and how do I get my hands on some?
>A: The Sixense MotionPack DLC includes levels that were designed specifically for motion gaming to harness the full capabilities of the Razer Hydra. Anyone who owns the Hydra and Portal 2 for PC can download and play the Sixense MotionPack with the Hydra through Steam.
>Q: Can I play the Sixense MotionPack for Portal 2 without the Hydra?
>A: No. The Sixense MotionPack for Portal 2 ONLY works with the Razer Hydra and incorporates gameplay that cannot be accessed or controlled by traditional input devices.
The controller will be released this summer, and supposedly comes bundled with a copy of Portal 2.
I know its not exactly a response to your question but I wanted to let everyone know you can download the official soundtrack from the Official Portal Page! Although if you made it here I'm sure you already knew.
Also I really enjoy Science is Fun. It gives me chills.
She didn't just kill everyone as soon as she was turned on, they performed lots of test boots of her and each time she tried to kill the scientists working on her, so they had to use a kill switch to prevent her from murdering everyone. This is where the cores come in, they installed cores to try and stop her from killing, this lead to her pretending not to have the urge to kill "Since the installation of my new morality core, I've lost all interest in killing. Now I only crave science." after convincing them that she is no longer plotting to kill them all she proposes an experiment on "bring your cat to work day" where she intends to test the theory of Schrödinger's Cat, she asks for "...a little neurotoxin" so that she may carry out the test and the person in charge of GLaDOS agrees on the bases of "well as long as it's for science" this is what leads to her filling the facility with neurotoxin and killing everyone with the survivors as I understand were subjected to testing.
As for why she wanted to kill everyone I assume it is because of the fact she was indeed forced into it.
And a interesting side note, [all employees that were killed may have been cloned which could be what Atlas and P-body find at the end of the co-op campaign](/spoiler)
Edit:Link to the Lab Rat Comic
I dunno if this has been mentioned yet or even matters but in Lab Rat http://www.thinkwithportals.com/comic/#9 it shows a page from Chell's folder (zoomed in here: http://i.imgur.com/SRHKZ.jpg ). Her response to the question (or lack there of) was interesting but the string of numbers stood out to me, so I plugged em into a binary/text converter and got this: [The cake is a lie.](/spoiler)
Just a little joke I guess. Try it yourself:
>01010100 01101000 01100101 00100000 >01100011 01100001 01101011 01100101 >00100000 01101001 01110011 00100000 >01100001 00100000 01101100 01101001 >01100101 00101110
It's worth mentioning though that this is an application to volunteer. And the aperture logo is the 90s one, so that could help nail out the timeline a bit.
I thought someone would've answered this. I think it's supposed to be a quote from The Dandelion Girl. > Day before yesterday I saw a rabbit, and yesterday a deer, and today, you.
I find it funny you ask how there was a yesterday, as that is what Mark asked after she said that as well.
I only recognized it when I heard it in-game though because of an anime called Clannad though.
Indeed, the DLC page is reserved for content that one person has but another does not. Usually through preorder or purchase.
The Portal 'DLC' will not show up there because everyone gets it for free. It's just a content patch.
If anything check here: http://www.thinkwithportals.com/blog.php
And more specifically here http://store.steampowered.com/news/?feed=steam_updates&appids=620
Well, this may not be the freshest news, but Valve announced the Portal 2 Summer Mapping Initiative Winners. I just played 'Patent Pending' and it was quite good.
I don't think your theory works at all: *It's inconsistent with the comic *Most importantly, there is no way that GLaDOS could recognise you as soon as she sees you in Portal 2
The name of the track is "You Will Be Perfect" from the Portal 2 soundtrack.
EDIT: The entire soundtrack can be downloaded HERE completely for free.
The song you want is on Volume 2.
From the official blog: "Well, the end is definitely near. Thanks to the efforts of a dedicated group of ingenious test subjects, we've located enough potatoes to generate the required power to start the GLaDOS reboot process. It's not too late to participate, though. The more CPU power dedicated to the process, the faster it will finish. What does that mean? From now until release, play any or all of the Potato Sack games to expedite the launch of Portal 2. Your efforts will be tracked on the official GLaDOS@home page. "
There is actually a teeny tiny company here named "南昌光圈科技有限责任公司" founded in 2015, that focuses on "Soft/hardware dev & Automation"
Their website:
I know a soundboard released on the Play Store : https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.newpestapps.Portal_Glados_Soundboard There are more than just GLaDOS lines but also Cave Johnson, Wheatley, turrets, Caroline and some extras. I don't think there are every single lines from both Portal 1 and 2, but there are a lot of stuff.
It's a full story mod for portal2. Not sure when it's coming out yet
https://www.moddb.com/mods/desolation
The people working on it have some great chambers in the community workshop. Really good puzzles and really high quality hammer editor work. It will also include an "adhesive gel" that will let you walk on walls and ceilings, which will add a lot if new options in puzzles

While I like the approach, I think you'd do good if you presented some Real World^TM examples of female scientists. Ted Talks on Science is a good place to start (several speakers are female), and the last-but-one XKCD strip is also on topic.
You know how mankind has created art, music, theater, and so forth in an attempt to impress their preferred sex? I'm adding cube-throwing to that list.
Check out this page.
pak01_xxx
and pak01_dir
are directory structures (kinda like .ZIP files). pak01_xxx
files are fragments of the larger file and unopenable, but a program called GCFScape can open pak01_dir
. It's various game files packed into a convenient and efficient package. Who knows, there might be something fun in there.
vbsp.exe
, vvis.exe
, and vrad.exe
are the level compiling programs. Each one is in charge of one of the 3 progress bars on the "building test chamber" screen in the Puzzlemaker, as well as one step in the building process. Geometry = vbsp
, visibility = vvis
, lighting = vrad
. You'll be more familiar with these if you've ever made anything with Hammer. I have nooo idea why they would need to change these programs now. Optimization or speed tweaks? We all know how long "calculating lighting" takes.
Edit: Oh, I forgot. portal2_dlc1
represents the "Peer Review" update, which added a couple of co-op maps (Art Therapy). portal2_dlc2
is the update adding Steam Workshop, community maps, and the Puzzlemaker.
Peanut Butter Pointer allows you to use two different mice on the same computer. It's meant for allowing kids to share, but my ex and I used it to game together. It's worth giving the trial a shot and see if it works out.
The comic is called Lab Rat, and it bridges the gap between Portal and Portal 2. You can find it here: http://www.thinkwithportals.com/comic/
Other than said comic and the two games, though, that's all the official lore you're gonna get. There's... actually not all that much to be honest. You might have to satisfy your urge with fan-made mods and fanfiction.
it's made up of broken Italian-sounding words. Ellen MClain is an opera singer, and Valve had asked if she could write a song to be used in the game.
as for the 'art' song, i've yet to hear it released on the official soundtracks: http://www.thinkwithportals.com/music.php
I actually use this one as my background. Got the idea from a previous post on Reddit. First download VLC if you don't have it already. Download the video off of youtube from here http://keepvid.com/ Prefably put the saved video on your desktop for easy access Next, follow these steps, pretty easy http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/18167/set-a-video-as-your-desktop-wallpaper-with-vlc/
The actual music is split into two parts. If you have GCFScape, you can search for the files. They're named "sp_a2_turret_intro_b1.wav" and "sp_a2_turret_intro_x1.wav"
If you don't feel like doing it yourself (or don't know how), here's a rar with those two files in it. http://www.filedropper.com/p2music
_x1.wav is the one with the part that plays when you're holding a turret. But it might not be entirely what you want.
It's called "Portalize" (?), boasts frustratingly terrible glitchy physics, story exposition by means of typo-filled text, an overly-confusing UI, and all kinds of...interesting...mechanics, design choices and levels. (The green discount thermal discouragement beams spark upon striking surfaces but aren't solid and cause zero player damage? Step in the wrong place and fall out of the map? Communist companion cubes?)
It's free, however, and given the incessant laughter it will surely provide for anyone wise enough to take it's shenanigans with a grain of salt, I'd say it's about worth that price tag.
Aside from that, I think Portalize is the closest humanity will ever come to a Portal clone for the mobile market.

I've said this before, but the earliest one for me is right in the introduction, when Wheatley is attempting the "manual override" on the wall, and he shouts, "You're looking for a gun that makes holes. Not bullet holes, but..." as this song plays. When I first played through the game, that was the moment where I felt a nerdy surge of joy, thinking, "OH HELL YES, I'M PLAYING PORTAL AGAIN."
[Wheatley's betrayal](/spoiler) is one of the most chilling moments to me. Once again, the music absolutely makes that experience.
Yep. and it'd distort light strongly around it, much like a black hole.
In fact, it would basically be a black hole except instead of being "black", you'd see a fisheye camera view of the other end.
Here's a video of what it'd look like.
Followed this recipe added icing mix to the whip cream so that the cream would be a little more sturdy, also added walnuts to the filling, replaced the canned cherries with maraschino cherries, and grated the chocolate. All and all I feel like it was a success!
Here's how "Darkbob" from Gamefaqs claims it works, I can't find the original steam post though, sorry.
>Remember the Potato Sack? GlaDOS is apparently drawing "power" from computers playing games in the potato sack. For every collective 48 hours for one particular game, that game's "power bar" goes up by 1%. And Steam needs to record you actually playing the game - just leaving something idling in the background does not contribute.
>The potatoes we all frantically collected can still be collected - in fact, you are a major contributor if you even collect one potato in one game. Potatoes multiply that game's particular power, so if, say, you gathered 5 potatoes in Audiosurf and one in Bit.TRIP BEAT, you'd be multiplying EVERYONE's efforts in Audiosurf by 6x and BIT.TRIP BEAT by 2x.
>Some people seem to think that launching multiple games is a good idea. This is in fact, not helping at all, because Steam only records keyboard activity in games launched through Steam, not through external launching
Not sure why you're getting so many down-votes, I guess people don't like truth.
And the Chrome logo is just...
More evil than Wheatly IMO.
Not sure why I'm getting so many down-votes, I guess people don't like humor.
Scratch is a great learning language, if you know a better language for kids let me know. I think my game is actually more similar to Mario portal http://stabyourself.net/mari0/ then the Flash version.
You can find the answer to both questions in the "LAB RAT".
TL:DR:
On bring you daughter to work day GLaDOS tries to kill everyone but is quickly shut down. The scientists then construct the 'morality core' which among other things prevent her from using the neurotoxin emitters without permission. When she is activated again she says she had "lost all interest in killing" and "only craved science now" but she simply played the long game and later asked before the 'Bring Your Cat To Work Day' if the scientists could give her access to the neurotoxin because she wanted to "demonstrate a science experiment". And of course the scientists were like "Ha sure! As long as it is for science!"
And we all know how that ended for the scientists, and unfortunately for all the cats.
A bunch of things to check out: - There's the original Portal of course - The Lab Rat comic, which takes place in between the two games - The various trailers and Aperture Investment Opportunity videos, which have some tidbits about the design/workings of some test elements, and show some earlier versions of the game aesthetic and tests. - In-game make sure to play with the developer commentary on, and read all the signs (especially in Old Aperture). - Replay the game, and wait for characters to completely finish talking before continuing. Probably about half the game's dialogue is only heard if you don't do what you are told - there's plenty of jokes, and a few interesting facts hidden there. (For example, if you don't answer the door at the beginning Wheatley will try a couple ways to get you to come to the door, and then tell you that you need to escape with him before the facility explodes.)
I absolutely do not want to piss over your lovely Christmas present, but for those who are jealous, that album is available to download for free. Not as nice as the CD edition (I love buying CDs & DVDs still), but if someone here wants just the music, it's all there!
I'm assuming its been found by now but just in case Portal 2: Lab rat
Also I converted it to read on kindle as a .pdf Just hit the download button in the top right
Enjoy.
Valve released a comic that not only ties the two games together but gives us the backstory of Doug Rattmann (the guy who wrote "the cake is a lie" everywhere) and it's a pretty good read. Enjoy:
I'm not 100% sure but in the first one where you "kill" Glados, she wasn't really dead, I think she was just like "offline" kind of. Like her system was shut down temporarily. Idk for sure, but as far as I can tell thats what was going on, then in the second game you and Wheatly kind of reboot her when you turn all the switches on. Plus the second game is supposed to take place a long, long, long time after the first. If you notice in the first part (The Wake Up Call) the bed where you were previously lying has a huge indentation of you body in it. Also to help explain A LOT of stuff, go to this website and read the comment and it will explain.
http://www.thinkwithportals.com/comic/
I hope this helps!! :)
We have no idea how much time passed between GLaDOS taking over, and Chell waking up.
In the Labrat comic Doug ages visibly, in more ways than just his beard. I mean, look at him, he's a kid. I'd guess that's, at max, a ten year difference. Maybe a really stressful five.
Now, back to Chell. The way I see it, those beds don't stop time the way the room does. So if Chell were stuck in there for 10 years or so, she'd be in her early twenties, right?
As for her mental age. We don't know. We know she can't speak. For all we know she is still twelve.
Rattman is still alive after GLaDOS floods the facility with deadly neurotoxin. Chell survives because she was placed into an egg-like growth acceleration chamber. Did you happen to miss out on the comic?
http://www.thinkwithportals.com/comic/
It explains a a bit of what happened between Portal 1 & 2 and what Rattmann has to do with it.
EDIT: & that he has Schizophrenia & how he saves the last tablets of his meds so he can help Chell.
Whether or not he's Chell's father or if Cave is doesn't really matter at the moment & there's no solid proof behind any of it. All we can do is wait until Valve releases more content or says something on the matter. Personally I want more puzzles I've got a case of the nasties
> In just seventy-two short hours it'll be Valentine's Day, and that means pressure: finding a girlfriend or boyfriend, for one, then figuring out the perfect romantic gift to give them.

I couldn't imagine playing Portal or Portal 2 with a controller as I have much more control with the mouse.
As for running the game, can you run Left 4 Dead 2? From what I've heard, if you can run that, then it should run fine. This site seems to work pretty well.
You can still snag one on Amazon for about 20 bucks. No idea why Square Enix is the one selling it though
Have you ever played Factum Solus? easily comparable to some of the more higher quality mods like Rexaura and that sort of thing. Although one might say that this is better than Rexaura.
Yea look up portal project beta (https://www.moddb.com/mods/portal-project-beta1) and you should find it (its the beta content for portal) and i have installed the mod folder into C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\sourcemods but it does not appear in the library or in the actual game.
i wasnt expecting someone to mention that! you can get it in this link if you want!
I mean just get some Portal art in your room or office instead of a permanent Portal tattoo on your arms. I have Portal bookends on my bookshelf. https://www.amazon.com/Portal-Heavy-Bookend-Creative-Lovers/dp/B09MSB7HQV
There is: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.nvidia.valvesoftware.portal&hl=en&gl=US Only available on Nvidia Shield devices though

Our team has been working on this for months and we couldn't be more proud of the result. It's received a really positive reaction on Discord so far, so I hope you guys enjoy it! Be sure to follow us on Twitter and ModDB (https://www.moddb.com/mods/desolation) for updates.
Very glad y'all like it!

I got a little carried away with the dovetail joints, but it makes for a very sturdy box once it's all put together!
Portal 2: Desolation is probably the most ambitious mod in development right now, as well as the one being most actively developed, and I just happen to be one of the devs ;)
Not gonna be out for a fair few years, but you can feel free to follow the mod's progress on ModDB - there are also links there to our Discord and Twitter.
you should read this comic called lab rat, it explains the hidden dens in portal 1 and 2 and and also explains why chell is back in aperture science. edit: this is the link to the comic
http://www.thinkwithportals.com/comic/
No, according to the diagrams in this commercial, the Portal gun (the Modern portal gun, at least) is powered by a miniature Black Hole. Sill probably incredibly dangerous, but not 'Antimatter' dangerous.
They could have used antimatter for something else, though. (Cave mentions Time Travel experiments, and considering aperture built the Portal gun trying to make a shower curtain and the mobility gels trying to make diet aids, trying to do something stupid, dangerous, and/or pointless with antimatter is par for the course....)
The human genome is only 300 mb as zipped plain txt file and it fits on a 4 GB DVD uncompressed (open source by the way).
But even an abstract map of a whole single human brain with all neurons and connections between them is Billion times as much information as someones genome. And someones neuron connections change everytime anything is sensed or done.
seach for a TED-talk by Sebastian Seung from 2010 about "connectomes": http://www.ted.com/talks/sebastian_seung.html
Quantum mechanical effects do play a role in photosynthesis. If quantum-mechanical effects do have a role within neurons, the whole "copy a mind into a machine" thing pretty much becomes unfeasible (not even for reasons of size and cost of that machine) for technology for at least untill 2050. If not, to copy a human mind into a machine you need an fMRI scanner with a high enough resolution, wich would run at much more than 11 tesla and roughly 10 million Terrabyte of memory. Well i just bought an external USB powered 1 TB HDD for roughly 100 USD and i visited a 7 Tesla fMRI station in oberhausen, germany, 2 years ago and this http://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=Emotiv+Epoc is just a toy and nintendo is also working to use such as an input device. Much will be possible within the next decades. but not that.
See if BlueMaxima's FlashPoint has it, if it doesn't (which is likely in this case) try using something similar to Newgrounds Player
There are some other solutions I've heard of but haven't researched into - do some Googling
Either this is sarcasm or the most serious, butthurt response. http://gamejolt.com/games/five-nights-at-f-boy-s-final-mix/53422 it's actually more of a Portal version inspired by this game. Maybe this is a joke because of how much I was careful not to make someone mad and take a fucking free RPG maker game on Gamejolt really seriously. But, it seems you worked too hard on this comment to be kidding or sarcastic. So. I'm gonna continue this game. Not think about shit, and carry on with my life. Thank you for the feedback, hope to see you again.
In case anyone's still thinking this is real: It's not. We've updated the post:
>Hey everyone!
>We hope we didn't scare you all too much! Removing Portal Stories: Mel from Steam was an April fools' joke. We're all incredibly proud of what we've achieved with Portal Stories: Mel! Thank all of you who have played the mod, and who left great reviews, and constructive criticism!
>Portal Stories: VR is a real thing, check out its store page here This WILL indeed launch in April, but both Portal Stories will remain on Steam!
>We hope you had a laugh at our April fool's joke!
I can't help you with the video, but do these scenes look familiar? This might be what the video was showing. This was my first thought when you said, "same room, but it's different every time."
https://www.moddb.com/mods/portal-memories/images/lava
https://www.moddb.com/mods/portal-2-memories/images/new-changes1
It's a mod called Portal Memories, and there are versions of it for both Portal 1 and Portal 2.
Wheatley must be lighter than he looks if he can sit on Chell's midsection like that without causing her discomfort.
Sorry, don't know the source of this one.
e: Found it! Unfortunately, it's in Japanese.
Here you go. BlueMaxima’s Flashpoint. Saved loads of other Flash hands too. I believe it’s a program you download, like Steam. I’ve not tested it myself, but I did verify that site from a good friend who brought it to my attention.
I can always test it later to confirm it is safe if you happen to be hesitant
You'd be surprised what you are capable of. Making a game isn't that complicated, especially when it's a mod of an existing game, because you already have tons of models and textures available from the base game. As for the story, why not just base your mod off of this comic? You could add a few bits on, like having to solve puzzles to progress.
If you learn Hammer now while hammering out the story (pun intended) you'll save a lot of time, because Hammer is not something you can learn in a day, or even a week. It takes a lot of wiki reading, and a lot of practice to get better at mapping.
And where did I tell you to stop? You haven't even started yet.
You can get the whole Portal 2 soundtrack for free here:

As for community chambers, it's a random selection of a few songs. I know it uses Robot Waiting Room #1, 2, 3, and 4, and maybe a few other tracks as well.
Huh, pretty cool. I have something similar to this but I use the sounds/ringtones (from here) instead of voice lines for windows sounds. Off the top of my head, error or alert is button positive, hardware insert is door open, hardware remove is door close, hardware failure is gel bounce. I've also get several other TF2 sounds to fill in the gaps :p.
Found the source. He actually was a [scientific who worked in Aperture Science when it was still functional. He survived GlaDOS's attempt to kill everyone with neurotoxin and saved Chell from death.](/spoiler)
I use one of the button noise as my notifications. I've gotten so used to the noise on my phone, I'm constantly checking it when playing multiplayer only to find out that I didn't get a message.
For notifications sounds and ringtones I got mine right from the source.
New development!
Valve released Volume 1 of the Portal 2 OST on the official site (for free!): http://www.thinkwithportals.com/music.php
This song is the second track, but instead they're calling it "Concentration Enhancing Menu Initialiser". Also, it starts right at the part the XMB clip does instead of having a long intro like in the YouTube video.
When I was going through the voice over sound files for Portal 2, GLaDOS actually does say "Chell" talking to and about the player character. So then confirmation from GLaDOS herself I suppose. Also in the Labrat comic when Rattmann is going through the subject list. http://www.thinkwithportals.com/comic/#22
FYI that tenacity graph is a reference to the comic "Lab Rat"
Spoiler if you haven't read it yet (and you haven't... start from here)
I don't know what is up with that site, but when I clicked that link, I was redirected to the german version of that page.
Here is a direct link which will hopefully take you to the English version, regardless of region.
Just based on how Valve usually handles game data, you probably need a package explorer program (google) to access some file called "portal2.vpk" in your Steam/steamapps folder, then find the material files which are in another proprietary format that needs to be accessed with a texture program (google).
But you might be able to save yourself the trouble by checking the official Portal 2 comic. There is a rather high-res PDF floating around and I believe most of not all of the drawings are in there.
EDIT: Oh, look at that! "Images with no text" it says at the bottom of the page I linked.. This might be what you were looking for!
That picture's there because it's the reason why chell was picked before all the other test subjects. Rattmann put her to the top of the list because of her tenacity. She is abnormally stubborn. She never gives up.
I should have said 'should run the same', not will. The recommended requirements for portal and portal 2 are the same.
When in doubt, I go to Systemrequirementslab.com/cyri to check and see if my PC can handle it.
i used a program to turn it into a bik file. i had to convert the root vid using the mp4 and turn it into a mov file (honestly that was easy due to me just searching up mp4 to mov lol) and got this program called rad video tools bink video (thelink:http://www.radgametools.com/bnkdown.htm )
This was all easy becuase i just had to press the bink it button and that took long due to the root video being much higher quality and my pc being crap so yay. And i found out that portal 2 doesn't use the normal valve head. as you can remember the valve head turns instead of it being still. So the actual bik was in the portal2_dlc2 folder and since of me finding this out i replaced the bik and boom! There it was! and thats how i did it.
I just have to wait until the nineteenth, which is fifteen, not counting the day itself.
It's kinda tough since most of the turrets aren't for sale anymore. They come in series, and the most recent one came out in 2019 with a somewhat limited release. Right now the only place you can buy them directly, to my knowledge, is on Amazon and BigBadToyStore. For series 1-3, you need to buy second hand. Prices range from $10 to over $50 depending on what turret it is (I picked up the Error turret recently for $45, but it's a rarer turret), however most turrets aren't listed very often.
If you're really interested, there's some more info regarding these turrets over at r/portalcollecting
They do have the most recent wave on Amazon if you buy a whole case. https://www.amazon.com/WizKids-Portal-Collectible-Figures-Counter-Top/dp/B07PZ8KD9M/ref=mp_s_a_1_5?keywords=portal+2+turret&qid=1585162833&sr=8-5
It's $57 dollars, but with 12 boxes that comes to about $5 a box. It would probably be possible to sell any extras/unwanted ones.
I tought it was the original Portal tho. wait lemme check

Edit: Yep, it's the original Portal. There are some "Portal2.apk cracked" versions but i can't verify how trustable are they lol
Walls coveralls can work well, but it helps if you have a farm supply store near by to test fit them. It's rare to find orange locally, but once you know your size it's easy to order online.
