You should strongly consider Amazon's Mechanical Turk where you can pay money to get people to take your survey. I've never seen a survey on /r/SampleSize get close to 3000 responses.
Hey riffmasterflash! I know it would be a lot easier and less personal if people had a survey to fill out instead of posting this information here. Then maybe more people will feel comfortable with participating.
I created a survey for this post.
riffmasterflash, if you want, you could pm me your email, and I'll link you to the results.
If you answer "No" on the first page, you don't get to see it. =(
Also, that sounds like what Americans would call a body pillow -- if so, probably a lot more people know what it is, they just don't know it by that name.
You can get different apps to use Reddit on your phone, I personally don't use the official app, I use Now for Reddit! I highly recommend it.
I have made a new survey on google docs here Before I submit it as a link, would these questions be better?
Thank you for your suggestions, I will not post the results of this survey because I obviously did a bad job of wording my questions. Also the responses were maxed at 100, and I can't view them without paying, so the sample size is too small.
Let me know how your results turn out. I recently did a survey in [/r/sex](/r/sex) and [/r/AskReddit](/r/AskReddit) about a few sexual things, and this was one of them. If anyone is curious, the data can be accessed here: click me! I'd like to know if the data turns out any different!
I'll post them after a day. This was just for fun, though.
edit: You should be able to see the results now after taking the survey. Also, you can go here to see them.
You've got your brackets the wrong way round. It should be:

Reddit uses Markdown for formatting, you can find information on the syntax here.
If you decide to install (it's a big decision, 13.1 MB), I would love to hear your raw thoughts. I built it because I just can't call more than three places in a single day. Turns out others feel the same way. I'll put the link here again because people remarked they didn't want to navigate away from the survey: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=app.bizyb.bizybee
Hopping off this comment, I'd also reccomend the book "Success and Luck: Good Fortune and the Myth of Meritocracy" by Robert H. Frank
https://www.amazon.com/Success-Luck-Good-Fortune-Meritocracy-ebook/dp/B017I2M8ZC
If you have an Android device, I highly recommend reddit is fun (normal with ads | golden platinum without ads) It's pretty much old reddit in app format.
I can see a results page (https://www.surveymonkey.com/results/SM-7MSJQ7T2/), but it doesn't show me any of the responses; it just states the question and says how many people answered and skipped it.
I would really appreciate it! I hope to get 100 replies, and I have around 40 now. Thanks a lot!
EDIT: I have now collected 100 replies, thank you so much for helping! Sorry it was a bit confusing with the sizing system, sizing charts and conversion is usually a complicated thing. But thanks for taking the time anyways! Here are the results, for anyone interested.
EDIT 2: Man I feel stupid for choosing Surveymonkey. 350 replies, and I can only see 100.... You guys are awesome, though. Thank you so much!!
According to the Oxford dictionary: "saw-nah" is the only correct English pronunciation. http://www.oxforddictionaries.com/definition/english/sauna
I don't really know about it. But I've learned it as "saw-nuh" and that's why it use it this way in English.
I think it could be pretty useful for the question to specify which languages you are using.
For example: If I am talking about the physicist Albert Einstein in English I use the English pronunciation because the original German might sound funny or even confusing to English speakers.
Reference for anyone who may need to study up on their favorites.
This can help you weigh the pros and cons of each type so you can make a more well-informed decision.
Good luck making a choice, I found it quite agonizing myself, but remember, toucan do it!
I wasn't sure how to make the results public at first, but I've figured it out!
There's really no way to tell for the whole of reddit. I assume with r/samplesize here that we all are equally biased due to self-selection.
Here are the results of the r/atheism survey I did. Largely young males, as you described. It really depends on where you go. We've done quite a few subreddit surveys of the week, and most of them have a gender demographic question on them, so you could compare them. But even if you averaged them all out, they wouldn't necessarily tell you the major gender of reddit, because we mostly do smaller subreddits, and there's nothing saying that someone didn't answer all of the surveys, meaning that they'd be counted multiple times.
Results as of 7:45PM EST sorted by percentage of votes.
Wikipedia, Google, 4chan, Wolphram Alpha, Youtube, and Linux are our current leaders. USENET trails in 8th by a mere 6 votes.
Hey, I have no idea where you're going with this or its applications, but if you're truly interested in the current debate I strongly recommend reading DC v. Heller (wiki article, actual decision). I think it gives an excellent conceptualization of both the current debate and its historical significance. Best of luck!
Perhaps I should have been more precise... I meant to say that you may wish to publish your survey on the mechanical turk site [https://www.mturk.com/mturk/welcome] in an effort to find additional responses.
https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/NKQ587W
Thank you to all who take the time to fill out this survey. Please message me if there are any issues concerning my submission in relation to the rules of this subreddit.
I am aware of the misspelling of "extreme" in the survey. Please disregard it.
The reason those places call them "sandals" is because flip flops are sandals! But "flip-flop" is such an informal sounding thing and you picked fancy sites.
Check more casual sites. Eg, here's something that looks kinda remotely in the same ballpark on Amazon - "Havaianas Women's Top Tiras Sandal Flip Flop".
They're called flip flops because the lack of support around the heel makes the sole flop around (and sound awful, haha). They only intersect in the sense that the set of all flip flops is a subset of the set of all sandals (which is a totally valid intersection, but also implies that all flip flops are sandals). As an aside, perhaps the strawpoll should have made the mathematical relationship something like F ⊂ S and S ⊄ F.
Using the same source as you, just check the American English and they suggest both pronunciations there. Yes, I've gone to an American school, so of course my English pronunciation is influenced by that.
Yes, I definitely think it would be good to specify in the question which language you're using, and also what's your native tongue.
Here's the source file: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0ByNhq07gxzeDZ3VrV0ppTGk0dEE/edit?usp=sharing
You need to have game maker or game maker studio to view it, but then I think you can have it compile to work on other operating systems if you have game maker studio.
Hey everyone! Im currently recruiting participants for my first study for my PhD and would love if you could spare around 20 minutes completing this survey. This survey may give you some insight into your current romantic relationship. You must be in a current relationship of 2 or more years to participate https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/partner-evaluations Thank you for the time!
As you might expect from a first-timer, I didn't realize that SurveyMonkey only allowed 100 responses on a survey for a free account, so I've had to make a duplicate. Here's the link if anybody wants it: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/2MP63BH
It actually does help(although exactly how how much is questionable especially if you use chrome), all the major adblockers have options to stop social media bits & pieces from loading in a page:
https://adblockplus.org/blog/about-that-facebook-tracking-thing
After completing this survey if you are eligible, we will contact you about scheduling a zoom meeting to compete the 30 minute full survey.

Yeah they seem to have assumed that everyone pays for snow removal.
And that all of reddit are American when it's more like 40%.

According to that it's 43% from American I.P addresses.
Hello friends,
The question I'm trying to ask is "Does the amount of friends a person has on facebook relate to the amount of friends they actually interact with on a daily basis."
If you're interested in contributing to psychological research, please participate in my little survey, it takes less than 10 minutes! I'm working on my psychology thesis and I've designed a little study involving Facebook and memory. It would really help me out if you could complete my survey!
Ps. Participants who complete the survey have a chance to win two FREE movies tickets!

Wow! Seems like you all really liked this one. I've gotten well over a hundred responses, so I've got to wrap up this survey, but I'm putting up another one here. Thanks for your responses!

Hello! As part of an assignment for my English Composition class we have to write an essay about a folk group that we belong to. Defining it and address misconceptions. I chose D&D players. If you have ever played D&D consider taking this survey https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/L6PGQBL If you've never played D&D try taking this one. https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/LZRNCJL I'm not going to twist anyone's arm over it and I only need a couple of people to fill out each one to get credit for the research. Thanks.
The above survey has unfortunately closed, as survey monkey only allows the free program to analyse 100 results, my apologies to those of you who entered and will not be counted.

I've got a similar one in r/guns, if you're a regular there I'd suggest taking the survey for them instead of this one. I want to compare the results for both surveys to see how Gunnit and the general reddit community differ in terms of attitudes and whatnot towards firearms.
Like the poll instructions say, don't take the survey twice, pick either this one or the Gunnit one.
Almost 350 responses now.
The likely to be final consensus is as follows: Wikipedia, Google, Youtube, 4chan, Facebook, Wolfram Alpha, and The Pirate Bay.

Calling all Fitness Instructors! My name is Shaun, and I am creating a computer programme to aid the invoicing process for an instructor, such as yourself. :(( does it work now? I tried updating the form. Also, as a note, the next step leads to the initial form (https://airtable.com/shrlZPUMBSouMzw9O) linked in the post. It's just there as a reminder that there's a next step after completing the quiz itself :)
Hopefully it's fixed now! And thank you so much for participating in the study :D
I am seeking participants to complete an online research study examining the direct and indirect relationships between stress, arousal, sleep quality, anxiety and depression.
This study will contribute to my honours thesis and advance our understanding of the mechanisms underpinning the way in which stress adversely impacts sleep and mental health.
If you have any questions about the study, please contact the primary investigator, Isobel Lavender, at [email protected]. This honours project is being supervised by A/Prof Rhonda Brown at the Australian National University (ANU), ACT.
The ethical aspects of this project have been approved by the ANU Human Research Ethics Committee (Protocol Number 2018/619).
Participation will involve completing a 30-minute online questionnaire, asking questions about stress, arousal, sleep, anxiety and depression symptoms.
You will not need to include your name or any identifying information. Anyone can participate in the study, given you are at least 18-years of age and can speak English fluently.
if you are interested in participating in this study, please access the following link: https://tinyurl.com/ycvchxh2

The present research aims at exploring links between personality, mood, and use of emoji in online instant messaging. To achieve this aim, a short anonymous (3-5 min) survey was constructed. Participants are asked to report about their use of emoji while chatting with Whatsapp instant messaging service. Participants are also asked to answer two brief questionnaires assessing personality and non-clinical mood states. Data collected is fully anonymous, and it will be used only for research purposes. If you are interested in the safety of Genetic Modifications, there is a book on the subject already written by the experts.
It was published in 1992 when the first genetically modified produce for human consumption was put on the shelves. It was a tomato that could be picked red and could last longer without going bad.
Little disclosure, Cathy Houck, one of the authors is my aunt.
Also, this is not a widely published book, so it is quite expensive.
I use Keep Ass and I don't find it to be much hassle.
I live alone, so I set it to ask for the master password only rarely. The password database is automatically backed up as part of my normal system-wide backups. When I create a new account somewhere, I create it in KeePass first and then paste it into the webpage.
There are also fancy ones that couple to your browser and automatically fill in passwords, but I'm a bit nervous about the increased attack surface, and I don't find Alt+Tab Ctrl+C Alt+Tab Ctrl+V to be much bother anyway.
For me the main hassle is finding passwords in the list, they should really do fuzzy matching on search so I don't have to go back if I type "godreads" instead of "goodreads".
Here's a link to a crude excel copypasta that I was working with on the results! Thanks so much for your help, r/samplesize!

Your post links to a Facebook referrer URL that redirects to the survey. You should link directly to the survey instead.
Your post is also missing the demographic in the title, and has been removed. Please read the title guidelines listed in the [sidebar](/r/SampleSize/about/sidebar). Feel free to resubmit with the proper title and a direct link to the survey, though you may want to note that it's a repost to avoid duplicate responses.
(That said, the demographic options in your survey don't really match the standard categories; please read the "Race/Ethnicity" section of our sidebar and the linked page that lists the categories used by the OMB and their descriptions.)

ATTENTION LADIES AND GENTS: I am in the process of writing my senior thesis for my bachelor's degree and I need your help! My paper will discuss the association between the media's depiction of police use of force incidents and the lack of public trust in law enforcement. Therefore, I have developed a survey that will hopefully reinforce my hypothesis. To keep the data objective and unbiased, I ask that only those who are not associated with law enforcement take the survey. To clarify, you are associated with law enforcement if you are a current or retired peace officer in any jurisdiction (including military) or have an immediate family member who is a peace officer (i.e. parents, spouse, or children). I don't need you to just take this survey, but if you could simply share or pass this link around I would greatly appreciate it. I dedicated a lot of time and effort into developing this survey so it would be great to see it succeed. Also, any feedback would be greatly appreciated.
You can't say that "GM food" is "good" or "bad", because there is no general rule to GM food. Some GM food do cause health problems, in which case they'll be removed from the market after a solid study is published. I don't know what the GM law is in india, but if the seeds are illegal then it's not surprising that they aren't healthy.
However, many countries still forbid all GM food indiscriminately, which is ridiculous and actually leads to people starving to death. GM food drastically increases productivity and reduces waste, which in most cases is for the greater good both for the environment and for humanity, as it is the key technology that could allow us to feed all soon-to-be 8 billions humans.
GMO have so many different uses, you can't just simply say that "GM food is bad" or good, you have to judge on a case by case basis:
Thank you everybody who took time to participate in my preference test.
For anyone who would be interested, I'm sharing a link to the results and analysis.
