Thank you mate, Last month I did a tutorial, I hope it can help you :)

not sure if this qualifies as a "for sale" post, but figured the community here would like to see this.
edit: link for the lazy
Yeah I used one by Neewer. Each shot was 5 seconds apart and there were approx. 1200 pictures in total. This video is 60fps.
Link to the one I got last year: https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B00NSE1F6I/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_E90sDbKYE7RF7
Nice shot! Do you need a converter to make this lens work with the A7iii?
Is this the same lens? https://www.amazon.com/Helios-44-2-Russian-mount-cameras/dp/B00V85BIIY/ref=cm_cr_arp_d_product_top?ie=UTF8
It was with this one https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07CRF3FSG/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_Zha5CbB2T9ANG
The description says it only fits the kit lens, but I can fit my 50 1.8, 85 1.8, and 28 f2. Only issue with the 28 though is the vignetting
Nice shot. Check out the Google Nik collection, specifically the Dfine tool to clean up the noise in the sky a bit. I find it does a pretty good job. I took almost all of the images that are on my site currently and most of them use Dfine for the noise in the sky. Keep shooting!
Just buy something like this and clean it yourself. There are lots of videos on YouTube showing how to use the product. I've done it multiple times on FF and APS-C sensors. I'm pretty sure they will get that gunk off for you.
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B06XW29G6X/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_glt_fabc_D1Z0WRNPSFTP0RYKR1FJ
If you order on rakuten and use the coupon "BF20" you can get 40 dollars off. Just ordered one for $209. Was trying to hold off on picking one up but at that price, I couldn't stop myself.
What you can try is use a VPN (NordVPN, PrivateVPN,pretty much any that has servers in the US will do), connect to the States and check whether there is a burner card or gift card that you can use on Sony's website. have you checked other possible sources, not only Sony's website?
As someone that owns the 28mm AND I just got, yesterday, the 35mm 2.8, I'll be happy to share my experience with you. In about 2 weeks when I've had enough time with the 35mm. :-p
There's something indescribable about the 35mm focal length that makes it my FAVORITE focal length. I've enjoyed using the 28mm and it was an awesome inexpensive lens and I love the size. However, when I removed the hood from the 35mm it becomes even tinier than the 28mm, and I'm really excited about that. Almost makes the camera pocketable... if you still wear JNCO pants, that is.
Anyway, I'm rambling. If price is a big factor for you, then you'll probably want the 28mm. But don't let the difference between f2 and f2.8 drive your decision. That's not really a big deal. Check out a bunch of photos from each lens paired with the A7.
A7+35mm F2.8: https://explorecams.com/photos/pair/ilce-7=sony-fe-35mm-f2-8-za-1
A7+28mm F2: https://explorecams.com/photos/pair/ilce-7=fe-28mm-f2
Truth is, they're both awesome lenses and you can't go wrong. :D
I bought this kit from Amazon (maybe camera shops have it or you can have it delivered somewhere?)
Wiped once fwd and once backward and it got rid of the big spots that the rocket blower wouldn't get. I didn't even use the liquid because it looked ok and j didn't want to mess with it too much.

I've uploaded a zip file with the two profiles inside, some quick instructions on how to get them working, and a few screen grabs to show you which menu items to select to find the profiles (It seems counterintuitive in Lightroom, but you have to think of the "Make" as camera make the lens is designed for, "Model" as lens model, and "Profile" as which profile you want to enable).
http://www.filedropper.com/samyang1428lensprofiles
Hopefully this helps! All credit for the profiles to their original creators, Sven Stork and Lynn Allen. I would link their original files but I have no idea where I got them from now, it was just lucky I saved their names in the filenames so I could credit them for their work!
Happy shooting
I don't think you can use Yen and just convert the amount, with how country economies fluctuate that's not reliable
When the lens debuted on Amazon it was priced at $250 http://camelcamelcamel.com/Sony-FE-50mm-F1-8-Lens/product/B01DLMD5O6?context=browse
black friday ads leak broski
go to this link and wait for bestbuy and other camera store's ads to leak and you'll know the best price and if it will drop anymore.. this does not account for random flash sales that may happen

Costco has a good deal if you're looking for a large kit. If not, you can just sell the extras and still get a good deal.
Ends tomorrow too, so good timing if you're interested.
It does come with the 18-55mm instead of the 16-50mm, so it's not a power zoom. I have the 18-55mm for my a5100 and I really like it so far.
EDIT: Yes, $850 for 18-55mm, 55-200mm, 32gb SD card and carrying bag. And a cd.
Well first, this is a solid panning shot.
Editing is really how YOU want the photo to look. The process is completely how you want to vision it. Some people love throw a bit of blue in the shadows and orange in the highlights. Some like muted darker editing. What one person likes, another won't. There are only a few things I avoid like the plague, oversaturation and clarity slider abuse. However, color seems untouched here so I highly suggest looking at this and color grading
https://color.adobe.com/create/color-wheel
Start digging into this. For me, the temp/tint seems a bit off and the green just doesn't belong. I'd probably bring the temp a bit down and raise the tint a smidge. I'd shift the green towards orange here. Then I'd play around with the pavement a little, maybe darken it and throw a TAD of blue/teal at it.
last 5 pics is second to the last shoot of the season, it was a gloomy day, used a strobe with orange gel to emulate sunset, otherwise, it was gray and raining
You were surprised that Paint.NET wasn't on the pixls.us list. I gave you their reasoning, which is also at the top of their software list page for anyone who cares to read it.
The OP is already using The GIMP, which is prominent on pixls.us, and uses the GPL v.3 https://www.gimp.org/about/COPYING , exactly the kind of license used by most software on the pixls.us list, source code freely available. So he's obviously not afraid of more freedom than just free beer. As a matter of fact, he could probably get a good solution to his DNG in GIMP issue at discuss.pixls.us, as several GIMP developers hang out there. The person who runs pixls.us is a GIMP developer and does the GIMP web site. It may be as easy as installing UFRAW.
I’d look into a a6400 with a kit lens. They can be had around that price and they’re very capable. I started a friend out by suggesting something similar and she’s been very happy with it.
https://www.amazon.com/Sony-Alpha-a6400-Mirrorless-Camera/dp/B07MV3P7M8
You have lots of options and you can always get better glass when you want it.
I bought the body used, and it didnt come with an eyecup. I bought one on amazon, and it came with that horseshoe mount. Might as well put it there, as it came without a hotshoe protector too.
https://www.amazon.com/ULBTER-Viewfinder-A7-A7R-A7R2/dp/B07RH9DD3H
I like a wired remote because it's more reliable than wireless. You don't have to worry about exactly where you're pointing it. There are plenty on Amazon, I think I have this one:
https://www.amazon.com/Photoolex-Remote-Controller-Shutter-Release/dp/B07SQQCJ85/
I just hold the button down while I look at my wristwatch.
I also have a 6d and was looking for a smaller camera to carry around. I decided to go with the A7 as I got an absurd deal on it.
I picked up the fotodiox pro adapter from Amazon.
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00D9BKLX8/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_awd_IFiYwbMRGK3MK
I like it a lot. Autofocus is good. Lens provides the correct exif data.
Price was $100.
Happy shooting!
I honestly just bought a cheap one off of Amazon but it has a slight glare in some instances. What I ended up doing was buying another cheap one, but a bigger one that fits my other lens, and then I got a step-down ring so I can use it on the smaller lens and I don't notice glare anymore.
This is the exact filter I use now along with a step down ring. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00XZVP2LI/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_VqCEybN4WZACG
For this video I used one by k&f concepts I believe.
Yes. B&H has them in stock.
https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1189220-REG/zeiss_2131_999_loxia_21mm_f_2_8_lens.html/?gclid=CODq94
Amazon has them in stock, too.
https://www.amazon.com/Zeiss-Loxia-21mm-Lens-Mount/dp/B019OUCQ9Y
In that case I'd look at using adapted M42 lenses, adapted lenses are incredibly easy to use with the A6000, when you use focus peaking & focus magnifier.
Here is what you could get for £186 :
The lenses and extension tubes are from Rocky Cameras, the Adapter is from Amazon.
I am using an K&F adapter I got on Amazon. I believe I paid around $18. It's only for the legacy Canon lenses and it's got no auto focus. The more modern Canon lenses require more expensive adapters like the metabones $400 or so. Legacy lenses are a great value https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00LECYIWE/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_ti6JAbFPRZG8F
I would just watch the sales at B and H. Sometimes they run some very good deals on tripods. A smooth video head will not be cheap, my experience has been for a good tripod you will be happy with you need to get a decent brand not some cheap knock off. Straps and bags are plentiful on Amazon. You can catch frequent sales on them.
I bought this one for my A6000 and now my A6500. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0093HJTN0/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
As I travel light and do not do any lighting I can't really help with it. I did buy some a cheap led video light that I have played with but nothing serious. If I ever do I plan on getting something like this--
I believe you need the PlayMemories app
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.sony.playmemories.mobile
I've used it on Android and iOS successfully

That being said, there are some developers for Android that are leveraging the Wi-Fi functionality these cameras have to deliver expanded features via a connection to another device.
Here is one such example for a timelapse app: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.thibaudperso.sonycamera
I haven't gotten a chance to use it yet so I can't comment on how well it works but the reviews look ok.
I don't have an account on Jet so I can't see what the price of just the body is: https://jet.com/product/Sony-Alpha-7-II-ILCE-7M2-Digital-Camera-Body-Only/1780b2e8e86542488c3eb06cb11b9cbb
Any cheaper to go with that? Those accessories you linked aren't anything special.
Do a little legwork. Call your local stores and the major stores. See if they will honor a price of $548. You will most likely get all no answers. But for 30 minutes worth of time, you might get someone willing to get your sale and give you a better price than current list.
If you want to spend $100 I highly recommend going with a used model. There are a lot of options out there, and unfortunately many of them are junk.
It's hard to go wrong with a good manfrotto. I had to specify 'good' because they sell some at target and best buy that are just terrible. My only real beef with them is their proprietary quick release system.
A lot of people like the dolica line that sells at costco: http://www.costco.com/.product.100124932.html
Interestingly, Horseshoe Bend was featured on the radio this morning. It was used as an example of places which are becoming popular because of photo sharing sites. Apparently thanks to photo sharing, they need to enlarge the parking lot, there.
https://www.npr.org/2017/11/12/563398606/instagram-crowds-may-be-ruining-nature
It takes a good half day or a little longer. But VERY worth it. It's a bit over 14 miles total (there and back). Here is a good trail guide - https://www.alltrails.com/trail/us/alaska/williwaw-lakes-trail-and-the-ballpark. This guide has you go a bit further than you really need to, so that's why it says 16 miles.
Wish I had a youtube for this stuff but I unfortunately don't :P.
As a quick recap:
-I determine the colour harmony I'm going with using https://color.adobe.com/create/color-wheel and uploading my image there
-I enhance the existing light source using adobe camera raw and radial/graduated filters (increase exposure and warmth, decrease blacks, decrease clarity and decrease dehaze)
- Dodge and burn in photoshop
- apply very selective orton effect (youtube this), in just the highlights using luminosity masks
that's the *usual* process :)
I have almost the same picture!
It was my take on Steve McCurry's famous image. I waited an over an hour standing in the same spot for someone to walk by like that.
This seems weird to me as the A7II and A7 have the same sensor and processor, so it must just be Sony cutting corners with the Smart Remote Control app.
I was trying to write an A7 -> laptop RAW image transfer utility but found out that the RAW image transfer functionality is only available on A7II or newer.
I asked a question on StackOverflow about it here to see if anyone else knows a workaround.
You can use the website CamelCamelCamel to roughly track price drops using Amazon.
For instance, it shows the price of the A7s as $2500 since May 17, 2014 then dropping to $2200 on Nov 02, 2015, two weeks after the A7sii shows a release at $3000 on Sep 21, 2015.
https://www.iconfinder.com/search/?q=instagram&price=free
There's a ton of free icons on here. You can just grab whatever IG icon you like and plop it in photoshop and type your name out next to it.
Not sure if this helps but I use Capture One to edit pictures with humans (and Lightroom for everything else) simply because Capture One gives me much better skin tones. Capture One has a free Express version for Sony.
I've tried the inbuilt panorama option a few times but none of them turned out how I wanted them to be.
And most importantly, they're not saved as RAW so you can't edit them.
So instead just make a panorama yourself and use stitching software to put them all together.
Personally I use Kolor Autopana but you'll have to pay for it so Hugin might be easier since it's free.
Try to get PremierePro or you can always download Davinci Resolve for free.
For the record both of these programs are for professionals and you will need to learn how to use them.
Yeah, we use If This Then That and an RSS feed on our web site so whenever we make a new post it automagically gets posted to both our FB page and our Twitter account. Simples.
Oh, and there's also Zapier who have more integrations, posting into FB groups for example, but they are chargeable above 100(?) posts a month so we only use them when IFTTT can't help.
Its amazon retailer is amazon itself
I use one of these badboys before I take my camera anywhere:
I blow the sensor carefully and then both sides of the lens. Had long exposure shots ruined before by some stupid dust. No problems since I use it. If the dust doesn‘t come of you might want to use a lens cloth but be really careful when using it.
On some websites they give you one for free when u buy a new lens or battery or sth. you might save a buck there.
If I had to pick one lens for the nex series camera it would be be the 7artisans 35mm F1.2 Large Aperture Prime APS-C Aluminum Lens for Sony E www.amazon.com/dp/B07DB3XWHT/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_ZM57EXQQ8T0HRZET76EA
Anyone have experience with the Delkin V90 SD cards for the A7RIV? Reliable? Or stick with Sony and Sandisk?
You can use this
A7c design is limited and most that I seen for it requires the use of the hot shoe.
For the A7iii they do not.
Not really fast enough. Here's a quality card at reasonable price $35 for Lexar https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07NLY7N7L
Don't go cheap on cards for a nice camera
Ok this might help. As I said I’m no expert but having everything on the same page usually helps in tech. This looks a pretty good purchase too. Try it out and see. If it fails, it’s not doing its job and you should be able to get your money back.
The clamp did fit right over the padding, I was able to tighten it down a lot. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07V39G5ZB/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_glt_fabc_H1Z76BFPD43YDPGTRAH2
Great clamp. I took a chance, most guys use a gimble mount and I didn't want to use that and have to carry it around south africa. This clamp was a life saver.
Under the eyecup there are two small tabs squeeze them together to pull it up & remove it. Then buy this you'll thank me https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07Q5SLQW2/

Something like this
you can try at amazon, I believe this can take the weight without an issue, balance is very important and if the motor can take the weight without drifting. You can always return it. It uses LiPo batteries which is nice.
https://www.amazon.com/Big-Balance-BB3AGP-Gibbon-Mirrorless/dp/B015POTAPQ
I picked up this tripod off amazon for $70, it's $66 now. I really like the twisty leg locks, and one leg becomes a monopod by removing the neck and screwing it onto the leg. The neck also flips in upside down so you can get really really low. It feels a tiny bit loose, but over all really stable when you weigh it down. Probably not built as well as the Manfrotto compact, but it's got features.
Amazon worked for me. I got this one: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01DNOZN6K and like it a lot. Sturdier than what I had expected. Brought it on a 4day trek in Peru and really never worried about the gear it was holding. I don't believe the 'waterproof' bit at all though haha. Only thing you should look out for is just sizing. I think this one is on the smaller side, but for an a6000 it should be more than plenty and have room for a second lens if you want to carry one around. Just make sure it'll fit in your bag of course.
the actual Sony part is LHP-1 and it sells for $180. luckily there is a chinese copy that's also made of metal available on Amazon for $20
edit, sorry i don't shoot much video, but it should be fine if you're ok with fly by wire manual focusing
No one knows, but the solution that worked for me was to go onto Amazon and buy a digital Sony gift card. Then redeem the code and load up the credit on your account and use that.
This is the one I bought and used...
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00GAC1D2G/ref=oh_aui_d_detailpage_o00_?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Nope. You need an MD to E/FE adapter. Sometimes referred to as MD-NEX adapter. Not too expensive, ~$15 on Amazon, cheaper on eBay if you want to wait.
https://www.amazon.com/Fotasy-NEX-VG30-NEX-VG900-NEX-FS100-NEX-FS700/dp/B00E5T5BJW
I used one of the amazon swap kits, and it worked really well. Not sure about the FS5, but worked well on the a6000.
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00K8MTPEW/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o04_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Just a cheapo amazon adapter, works great.

I use this Pedco Ultrapod II for my a6500 with 18-105 zoom. https://www.amazon.com/Pedco-UltraPod-Lightweight-Camera-Tripod/dp/B000ANCPNM/ref=redir_mobile_desktop?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1&ref_=oh_aui_i_d_old_o0_img
It's very solid, light and compact. The customer images in the Amazon reviews are worth looking at.
I like to search ebay for FD lenses under $50 with a Buy-It-Now price. You can find perfectly good third-party FD lenses for dirt cheap. And FD - E mount adapters are about $13 a piece on Amazon.
I actually carry two shutter releases with me. The one i carry is a 10$ amazon IR remote, but because I do a lot of long exposures I also carry an old school wired shutter release that I got for about 10bucks. And my third option is the playmemories app.
Hello friends!
I have a sony a6000 and two lenses, a kit lens (16-35mm) and a prime, (50mm) I'd like to buy filters, specifically an NDS and a polariser. can i buy something like this? (not an amazon affiliate link...)
Thank you!
I had the camera in "bulb mode", and I used a cheap Amazon IR remote to open and close the shutter.
Just looked it up on amazon and the customer reviews https://www.amazon.com/Sigma-30mm-mount-Cameras-Black/dp/B00BQXL5CM/ref=sr_1_2?keywords=Sigma+30mm+2.8&qid=1560789183&s=gateway&sr=8-2#customerReviews
Sigma 16mm f/1.4, best lens I've tried for APS-C sensor
it's under $400 in amazon
it's very sharp
I used this mostly on my last trip to Seoul
great for portrait, landscape, architecture
I brought my SEL35F18 and SELP18105G, but rarely use them
No worries at all! Happy to help :)
The strap is a cheap one from Amazon. It’s cheap but solid. I’ve tested dropping the camera with it around my wrist and I have faith in it
The v860ii and tt685 are identical in every way but power source, and a tt685 has the same recycle time (if not faster) as a v860ii with NIMH rechargeable batteries.
I would get a tt685 and a set of Amazon NIMH batteries: https://www.amazon.com/AmazonBasics-High-Capacity-Rechargeable-Batteries-Pre-charged/dp/B00HZV9TGS/
This should cost less than a v860ii while being lighter and equally as powerful. The only loss is total flashes per battery set.
I used this one: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0894QF5YK/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
but yep, it's an a6000 (or really any camera that gives clear HDMI out), adapter cable (I use a mini HDMI to DVI and then DVI to HDMI adapter because that was in my parts bin). Note that you may be time limited by battery and thermals of the camera. Use video mode but don't record with the camera.
This is what I use - the soft brush. I use Peak design bags, and they're all pretty bad when it comes to what appears to be dust.
I apologize for neglecting to mention this in my previous comment: I use the Lee Stopper Exposure Guide (Android / iOS) to calculate my shutter speed when I make long exposure images.
This app is very easy to use:
Once you have your adjusted shutter speed, just attach your ND filter and dial in that adjusted shutter speed. If your adjusted shutter speed is longer than 30 seconds, put your camera in BULB mode, attach a remote shutter release, and use the built-in timer on the app as your stopwatch.
This is the cheapest I know of. I own it. It's $200 used, $230 new.
Edit: I also own the Canon FD 50mm 1.4 and 1.8. I use them with an A7S and a6300. I use the Sony (auto) for most of my photo work. It's just easier to forget about focus. Worth the price too if you're newer to shooting. You'll get a ton more usable shots with an auto lens.
It isn't the kit lens. It's this one: https://www.amazon.com/Sony-24-70mm-Vario-Tessar-Interchangeable-Frame/dp/B00FSB79FU
Does a good job. Good for walking around. Only drawback is it's a little heavy for such a light body, but other than that.. I love it.
I have the app for my a6000, and would honestly give it a pass. It's not really that great, even for $10. If you really want it though, have you considered using a VPN to change your region? I'd recommend Private Internet Access, or NordVPN. I personally use PIA, but Nord is very highly rated.
I use a lens pen to clean the lens (actually the UV filter to protect the lens):
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0081ER9KG/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1
There's a menu option under Settings to clean dust off the sensor; I wouldn't risk anything else myself.
I had heard the same things in Amazon reviews. Though I’m not sure if true, this adapter has worked perfectly well on A7ii. I think issues arise if the adapter has a fault or if it’s strained by placing a large lens on for extended periods. I would recommend buying the adapter and just putting it on and off several times and if you have any concerns ask for a new or return it.
KECAY Lens Mount Adapter,Canon FD and FL Mount Lens to Sony A7II A7S A7RII Full Frame Mirrorless Camera Adapter Ring https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B01HM29F3G/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_FtlLBbZ99YA1E
here's my guess.
Having the A-mount and E-mount gives Sony options. If the consumer wants to move to slr/slt or mirror-less Sony has different products to offer. I think it's similar to how HP has Inkjet and laser printers.
I think Sony is trying to balance out "The Innovator's Dilemma". They're trying to develop new products while trying to not abandon product and customer investments. It likely they'll become a 100% mirror-less but they will have brought exiting costumers with them.
Watch & Digest "The Innovator's Dilemma" in 4 minutes - Video Book Summary
Have you tried recently? I just noticed earlier this week they've pushed a version that supports Android 7.1. I haven't had a chance to actually try it with my camera yet...
I've previously used an Android app to do a timelapse.
It interacts with the standard Smart remote app, so doesn't need anything extra, and it's free.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.thibaudperso.sonycamera
Another option for time lapse, which I know does work with the NEX-6, is the Android Time Lapse app which does it over WiFi.
Thanks for the advice.
How come not a glass one? Won't they have the same filling effect?
I saw this one from sony for £11
And this normal one - 3 for £7
Thanks again.
I use Sony 70-200 GM and Sony 200-400 G with my A7C... use a monopod/tripod for the 200-400, but the 70-200 isn't bad, but after a long shoot, my right hand does get tired. . I just got the 24-70 (waiting to open for Christmas) can't wait. I got this, as recommended by a photographer on YouTube (Tony)
Both of the folks before me were correct, I literally used 2 t adapters to slap it on the rear of the ETX90-EC telescope.
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01J0S864O to convert the back port of the telescope to T2
And https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0031CH93U to convert the A6000 E to. T2
I have this as recommended by someone in here. Probably not the smallest, but charges usbc and works well enough. I like it indicates how much is charged.
For video, I love this quick release NATO handle by small rig. It easily adjusts from forward/backward facing. https://www.amazon.com/SMALLRIG-Camera-Anti-Off-Designed-Spanner/dp/B07X1QKB1Z/ref=sr\_1\_3?crid=3CVAMKL6MDM4T&keywords=smallrig+wooden+handle+nano&qid=1670264938&sprefix=small+rig+wooden+hande+nano%2Caps%2C144&sr=8-3&ufe=app\_...
short of getting it replaced, all I could do was get a rubber washer like this which isn't a perfect solution, but it works

I really like this Amazon link . It's similar to many camera bags but has the expandable regular storage on top. I own a ton of camera bags, but I keep coming back to this one primarily for travel.
I started with a Godox V860III and a X2 trigger along with a cheap neewer light stand, 84cm shoot-through umbrella and one of these do-hickeys https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B072KWMZ6Z.
Seemed like the best value to get started with off camera flash work. It's definitely a fun setup to use!
Thanks for the quick and detailed reply! I recently bought the ulanzi WL-1 wide angle lens. Do you know of any adapters I could pair with it to use ND filters?
Why not just get the metal-plate replacement foot from Amazon and just replace it on a V1 if you get the plastic-plated one?
Also, be aware, a metal plate may not be all it's cracked up to be when it comes to "hardiness". When Canon changed their plastic plate out for a metal one moving from the 580EX to the 580EX II, breakage changed in not-great ways. A metal plate could possibly result in more damage to the camera hotshoe (hard to fix DIY-style) than the foot of the flash (easy to replace yourself).
Curious to see if this really is a huge improvement, like everybody's assuming.
