Interview was a bit short and shallow.
His choice was Mistborn.
He also suggested The Emerald Circus, by Jane Yolen, calling it his favorite book from last year.
>I think Roshone's line of thought is incredibly evil.
I included that line specifically because I thought that otherwise, people would think that I'm on Roshone's side. Apparently that still happened anyway.
I am not justifying Roshone's actions or praising his character. Nothing could justify hurting a child to get revenge against their father. But it is important to understand why people think the way they do.
>If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.
-Sun Tzu, The Art of War
As for Moash's grandparents, we only know a few fragments of Moash's and Dalinar's sides of the story. But considering that Dalinar had Roshone exiled, it's safe to say that Roshone was doing something unlawful beyond simply giving the king bad advice. Especially since Dalinar's original idea was to have Roshone live out the rest of his days as a pauper. We just don't have enough information to say anything about Roshone's motivations there.
This question prompted me to go digging for some more information on exactly what suppressing a divine breath entailed. I came across this WoB from a Q&A at Goodreads (message 66 here) that lays out the situation pretty plainly:
>Vasher has learned to suppress his Returned Breath. When it's suppressed, it's as if it doesn't exist to him. He's Invested it into a place within himself, much like you can Invest your Breaths into a shirt, and when he gives away the rest of his Breaths, he doesn't give that one away.
However, one of the things that Brandon also emphasizes in this Q&A is that a lot of the things that people on Nalthis "know" about how bio-chroma works are incorrect. It may be possible for Vasher to not suppress the divine breath and instead exercise some sort of control over his physical appearance/bio-chromatic aura.
Try downloading a program called Flux. https://justgetflux.com/
It will make your computer screen light a bit less harsh. It might take some time getting used to the pinkish tone but helps a lot when I read on the computer.
If y'all are looking for LGBT representation in fantasy (particularly gay or bi men), I strongly recommend Greencloak, which is written by one of our moderators. :)
I went into it not expecting to see GB representation and I was very, very happily surprised by it.
Stand-alone version has been available since October 18. CDN$15 on Amazon
That said, you gotta get Arcanum Unbounded, man. Secret History? Sixth of the Dusk? Shadows for Silence in the Forests of Hell? There's too much good stuff, new details, artwork... Its well worth it. Sucks that its more expensive in the great white north.
My brother used an alarm that required him to do math problems before the alarm would shut off. Whatever works!
Personally, I do Wordscapes in the morning. It's just a simple word hunt app, but it's nicely laid out. It has a nice layout and just enough hints to keep from being frustrating.
The whole race thing can definitely be a little overwhelming at times. It comes from a good place, people care about representation, and Cosmere fans get really excited that Brandon is representing all sorts of people, especially in Stormlight... but it can be offputting if you get slammed with something as intense as that when you share a piece of fanart you've toiled over and just want to share your excitement for the books :)
I would also like to extend an invitation to you to the 17th Shard, and especially our Discord server, where I am trying to drag every single artist I can :P I haven't been super successful, but there's a non-zero number of artists there who think it's a great place to both hang out and talk shop :)
The problem is, casting isn't necessarily fair. We say 'ability over looks', but Hollywood has a problem with a lack of minority representation.
Plus, the notion of actors wearing makeup to look like PoC is incredibly insulting. That's one step away from something like yellowface or blackface. Where possible, PoC characters should be played by ethnic characters. And as /u/DariusJenai has said, Hollywood keeps casting white people because their predecessors got those roles. How can anyone get roles, if they aren't trusted to begin with?
Moana was a film with Polynesian characters, and although the actors did voice work -- meaning you could just have went for white voice actors -- Disney did a very good job in casting people of Hawaiian and Maori descent. The right people are there. You just need to look.
It doesn't matter to white people perhaps, but to Asians, Polynesians, even other PoCs, stuff like this shows that we deserve to have role models from our heritage and culture. Wonder Woman was like that for many women. Now it's time to take another step forward -- if Hollywood is brave enough to.
I like ebooks (even for subtle “philosophical/æsthetic” reasons people say that only physical can have), and at least from Barnes & Noble, I think all his books are already DRM free, with this statement at the beginning:
> The author and publisher have provided this e-book to you without Digital Rights Management software (DRM) applied so that you can enjoy reading it on your personal devices. This e-book is for your personal use only. You may not print or post this e-book, or make this e-book publicly available in any way. You may not copy, reproduce, or upload this e-book, other than to read it on one of your personal devices.
But I also have a Surface Pro, with great color and 267ppi, so of course all high-res pictures and maps look better to me.
(I’ve actually started to mentally de-value my physical book collection in favor of my cloud-available, never-aging, DRM-free library, database-managed ebook library.)
For those of you interested, I organized my notes using a program for Windows called CintaNotes. If you can download and install the program, then I'll upload my CintaNotes database to Dropbox or something and PM you the link, and then it would be simple to open it and navigate it within CintaNotes.
Man, looking at my notes again makes me miss the fun of maintaining the database and adding new WoB. If only I had time to keep working on it...
EDIT 2: Release date seems to be confirmed, mousing over where it says "Oathbringer (Stormlight 3) third draft" shows the release date (thanks /u/Torrieltar)
~~I saw that also, but I didn't easily see the release date on Brandon Sanderson's website, so I didn't want to include that in case it was incorrect.~~
~~I'm guessing that the date is there since that's what's listed on Amazon, but again, couldn't confirm it on Sanderson's website.~~
~~Edit: Also note that while it is listed on Amazon, Amazon does often list incorrect release dates and then change them as more information becomes available, so until there's confirmation from someone on the Sanderson team, I'd not pay it much mind.~~
Amazon shows it will be released on 27th August 2019. Amazon link
For those who use IFTTT Here is a IFTTT recipe that builds off the great work of @_StormWatch, https://redd.it/41wo39
Whenever there is a twitter update by @_StormWatch of a progress bar update on Brandon's site you get a IFTTT notification.
Ordered on the 17th, arrived this morning.
EDIT: Changed link
Go to the site, not the app, I guess they forgot to region-lock it.
Shhh... our secret.
The UK version is indeed unreleased. Just get the american one, unless you are really prissy about the virtual cover art.
These look great! My only complaints would be I think Shallan looks a bit too old, maybe a couple ticks down on the age slider, and a few of the Kholins could use brighter eyes. Though I've been playing around with ArtBreeder a lot this last week, and I know how hard putting bright eyes on faces with Asian features is.
This was the Shallan I came up with that I was the most happy with.
Here try this version. It's formatted for your kindle. Let me know how it works!
As much as I love Lopen, it has to be Rock.
The way he speaks reminds me of Quina from Final Fantasy 9 (edit - just realised S/he is also a cook!), it cracks me up. https://en.wikiquote.org/wiki/Final_Fantasy_IX#Quina_Quen
I think he might be my favourite character in the whole book.
It's available for me. https://smile.amazon.com/Dawnshard-Stormlight-Archive-Brandon-Sanderson-ebook/dp/B08MXXWYT7
It's not cheap, but definitely available on Amazon. The kindle copy is the regular price.
You should definitely try reading Ruin of Kings by Jenn Lyons! It is an excellent epic fantasy book that uses the same narrative device as Kingkiller in that the main character is telling the story of his life to another character in the series that is being recorded by a magic rock. It also uses a lot of "narrative footnotes" because of a third character who is transcribing it as a report on the events to their King.
Synopsis from the Amazon listing: > Kihrin grew up in the slums of Quur, a thief and a minstrel's son raised on tales of long-lost princes and magnificent quests. When he is claimed against his will as the missing son of a treasonous prince, Kihrin finds himself at the mercy of his new family's ruthless power plays and political ambitions. > > Practically a prisoner, Kihrin discovers that being a long-lost prince is nothing like what the storybooks promised. The storybooks have lied about a lot of other things, too: dragons, demons, gods, prophecies, and how the hero always wins. > > Then again, maybe he isn't the hero after all. For Kihrin is not destined to save the world. > > He's destined to destroy it.
I like the full sized paperback and feel like it's not as flimsy. The binding obviously isn't as great as the hardcover, but it's a nice middle ground between the mass market paperback and the hardcover.
And on Amazon it's currently only $.50 more than mass market
https://www.amazon.com/dp/0765376679/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_n8gcDbEM7J5EG
It's in the book description, specifically this:
> Now, as new technological discoveries by Navani Kholin’s scholars begin to change the face of the war, the enemy prepares a bold and dangerous operation. The arms race that follows will challenge the very core of the Radiant ideals, and potentially reveal the secrets of the ancient tower that was once the heart of their strength.
so there are a couple of order of edgedancers symbols around
the bad one is this, which, being honest, looks like both a dick and a vagina with wings lmao
and there's the good one from the edgedancer cover art which looks much sharper and interesting (and less like genitalia, tho still a bit...), but ,sadly it's not properly drawn online outside of some bad renders so I might have to make a comission for it.
It should be this one. Best way to ID if it doesn't say trade paperback is by the dimensions.
Dimensions : 6.15 x 1.75 x 9.1 inches
https://www.amazon.de/Mindset-Psychology-Carol-S-Dweck/dp/0345472322
According to Amazon it's 2007, not 2017.
Still far too late, considering tWoK Prime is much older than that.
Oooooh! If they like board games, I would recommend this: Call to Adventure; Stormlight Edition. The artwork is based on the books, and is BEAUTIFUL. The concept of the game is to build the strongest character using various game mechanics. My friends and I love this game.
There are two (I believe) split UK versions of tWoK, the Paperback and the Hardcover, for both Part 1 and Part 2 combined are the full the Way of Kings, the first book of the Stormlight Archive as intended by the author.
I'm assuming you are refering to this review?
>The titles are very confusing as this is the 2nd book, but part of book 1. Words of Radiance: The Stormlight Archive Book Two: is actually the 3rd book in this series.
The Way of Kings has some very different and new ideas, and the story is told well, which is why I have bought the next book in the series. It is going to be set over 10 volumes, but doesn't say how many books.
This reviewer is confusing two similar but different meanings of the word "book". tWoK Part 1 and Part 2 are two physical books, but their combined text is "book 1 of the Stormlight Archive"
I hope I didn't create even more confusion.
Nah the sword is in his hand on the UK cover, here's the link to it:
And it doesn't need to be a Nahel bond, he could have one of the ones that Adolin has, although when I think about it, they couldn't get those off Roshar either since they can't be taken into shadesmar (since they change to their deadeye form) so yeah, potentially not a shardblade, still feel it has significance though 😊
Then again, doesn't Nazh give Kelsier a blade and asks him to look after it as its precious to him? And then we have blades like Nightblood that can travel between worlds. I'm probably just looking into it too much, but I love a good speculation lol
I just asked my engineer about this and he recommended against using them as literal bookends (they'd probably work, but if the books started to slide you could quickly end up with a broken statue on the ground).
That said, we totally love the idea of splitting up the statues and using them at the ends of a bookshelf (with simple metal or wooden bookshelves providing the structural support). That would look awesome!
If you're interested in improving there is a book that I always recommend to artists: Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain is a practical and fantastic resource to get you to have an artist's eye. It's helped me improve for sure!
"Edgedancer" (included in "Arcanum Unbounded" with other r/Cosmere stories), which is between "Words of Radiance" and "Oathbringer" and "Dawnshard," which is between "Oathbringer" and "Rhythm of War."
Edgedancer is part of Arcanum Unbounded, and if you plan to read the rest of the cosmere, it's worth it to get it as part of that collection.
For Dawnshard, you should be able to get it at the usual outlets https://www.amazon.com/Dawnshard-Stormlight-Archive-Brandon-Sanderson/dp/125085055X/ref=tmm_hrd_swatch_0?_encoding=UTF8&qid=&sr=
A few websites stock them :)
Amazon - Book Depository and other similar websites
Nothing too fancy as I'm just getting into the keyboard game lol. They're HK Gaming brand, I ordered off Amazon. I'm curious if I will notice the difference between ABS and PBT. I do feel like the texture of the K6 keycaps would be prone to getting oily or worn out... I'm not sure how I will feel about the colors of the set I picked but I really wanted to try them out!

You're probably looking for the mass market paperbacks. The trade paperbacks are the big ones.
Looks like the MMP aren't available yet.

Your link goes to an 80mm coil, but in the video in your coil looks significantly larger than 80mm. Are you actually using this 200mm coil?
I'm planning to make some with this embedded in the "gem", I'm actually hoping to find a mix-in to diffuse the light rather than seeking clarity.

The Way of Kings (The Stormlight Archive) (Paperback) - Common https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00IVM2CD2/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_i_M9FCW5N3PRSFEM0ARF89
This is a link for the soft cover but not the mass market one. These are my personal favorite. Pretty much the same size as the hard covers but also cheaper. I would get either this or hardcover. I personally dislike the smaller mass market ones.
I don't believe the ebook/Kindle editions are divided into parts. The book was originally published as one book and then divided into two parts for paperback editions outside of the US. Could it be that you have finished the whole book? The final chapters of The Way of Kings are 75: In The Top Room and Epilogue: Of Most Worth.
Amazon UK has these two part editions. If you look carefully at the first link only the Paperback version shows "part one" in the photo. The second link is for Part Two and does not have an audio or ebook version because they are not divided into parts.

I've often wondered about the copyright aspect of stuff like this. Can you create a design based on a book series (like SA) then sell t-shirts based on it?
I used this Funko Pop as Adolin’s body, then repainted it in metallic silver and then a blue wash. I actually got the base pop from ebay, but it’s a fairly common pop so you can probably find it elsewhere. This pair of figures might have been the biggest challenge I’ve had when it comes to finding the right body/head so I was pretty happy when I found that one
Try another website or a local seller perhaps cause that's way overpriced I think . Here's one for 8000 rupees(≈90 dollars)
https://www.amazon.in/dp/B07FQ4Q7MB/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_glt_i_V644WDBNEDRBAK8WYN2S
Even the more costly ones aren't that costly.
Also do you have a laptop or PC ? You can use Google Play on chrome . Don't know about kindle app tho
Wow. You should sell that photo to Weather.com or something similar. I appreciate it in this context, but that is a killer photo in it's own right. Also, they might be able to tell you what is going on there.
That works fine. There is also a "crosspost" button you can hit if you have Reddit Enhancement Suite (RES). I highly recommend it. Here's a snapshot of what you can do with it..
Created a couple of fonts for the Alethi womens script and calligraphers glyphs.
let me know if there's any feedback, or future projects I should look at.
Is the paperback version identical in content to the hardback version. I received the version in the link below as a gift. It looks fantastic but I want to ensure I'm not missing out on anything.
I think it's more a consequence of the limitations of the models than an "art style" but I see exactly what you mean, these patterns have been used to confirm an image as generated with a neural network and to expose a scam on Kickstarter:
>"From my experience, it does appear to be from the released model from Nvidia," Wang said. "I can tell mainly from the distortions around the glasses, as well as the artifacts in the background."
In Ireland (which uses Gollancz, the UK distributor) there was a giant paperback version available at launch, hopefully there's a single-volume version for Oathbringer too.
To help plant even more trees, consider changing your default search engine to Ecosia. They use the profits from their searches to fund reforestation efforts around the globe. I find what I need with them 90% of the time, and use google for the other 10%.
Do you have an ebook reader? An app like moon+ reader for Android is good enough. Or you can use a computer application like ~~Caliber~~ Calibre to convert it to a PDF, and just read it with acrobat on a computer or whatever devices support that common format.
I really have no idea mate so I had to google pretty much. All I am saying is that it would be super cool to have these on mobile as I would imagine plenty of people would use it. We all have mobile phones and a lot of us kind of care about their wallpapers. Even if this one was not animated it would be cool, let alone if it can be animated.
I dunno if these 2 below help. Working rn so can't go into it much more. Happy to assist testing. I have LG V40 if that might help while you adjust them for the phone.

Hello Mr. Sanderson, I'm happy to share some of my favourite track for reading/writing/drawing. I hope you'll enjoy them as much as I do: https://music.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL8bF8dQBUt0E2QnTLtVMMov-ySVUxoaeH
Nice, but you could also get them inside uncut gemstones
Agreed on point one, but don't pay $12 each for these - they're 6¢ apiece.
I am from india and I am seeing this price of Rythm of war and all the other books are near here only
It comes up for me. Try this direct link.

Yeah. Amazon in North America says October as well. Thanks! Guess I'm waiting for a while.
Found another one on a second playthrough!
Level 6: 18/19
>!Down Left Up Down Left, Up Right Down Left Up, Left Right Down Left Right, Up Right Up.!<
>What did you think about the overall difficulty of it?
I think the difficulty was pretty smooth actually. I think level 6 was a little bit too much of a jump up. I didn't understand that the moveable boxes only moved if you hit them from 2+ steps away until that level. So, level 6 wasn't making much sense until I realized that. I think you could insert a level between 5 and 6 that just tutorialized that aspect and it would help.
Additionally, I don't understand the rules for the dangerous enemies. Like, level 6 teaches you to not touch the red enemies, but then level 9 requires that you do hit them! What's going on with that? Is it their facing? But don't they orient their spears to point at you?
>Was it challenging enough?
I'd say yes, for a short game. I haven't gotten a perfect score on level 7 yet.
If you add more content, the trick is going to be how to make levels that are actually interesting (instead of just a computational grind) and not so hard that people just give up. That said, puzzle games are hard. That's part of what people like about them, so don't avoid "hard", just don't go too hard too fast.
>It’s my first attempt at a puzzle game so it’s hard for me to tell if they’re at all challenging.
Yeah. I hear that. My advice is to just playtest it to death. Watch other people play it, then fix the things they needlessly stumble on, then repeat.
I think your best levels are 6, 8, and 9. Those were all quite satisfying to solve.
>Also, what was the name of your game?
Credit to the rest of the team too: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ettu.beam.android
My mom, years ago, gave me a copy of Hanta Yo telling me to plow through the first three hundred pages, because it was worth it. And it was worth it.
For christmas, I gave her Way of Kings, with the same message, because she doesn't do fantasy. I hope she loves it as much as I do.
The Harry Potter franchise has an amazing official knitting pattern book full of licensed patterns for the classic sweaters, blankets, robes, and animals of Harry Potter. Not to add *another* thing for you to do, but a licensed set of Cosmere knitting patterns would be AMAZING merch.
You could have patterns for sweaters for ever knight radiant order, sweater dresses based off of a Hava, a bridge 4 hat, even a pattern to knit a little chiri-chiri.
Anyway, even if this isn't something that your team will have time for in the next decade, I hope I've planted a little idea seed in your brain.
Shirt is from here. Not available directly on Brandon's site, but an official design by Isaac Stewart found through the Amazon link on this page.
Yeah it’s no problem! Definitely go with the 16x22, try starting locally if you can but if you can’t find anything here’s the link to the one I bought:
Yeah, I have all the other cosmere books matching (look awesome). I always bought them on Amazon. The Oathbringer books look the same on the preview picture as they do on your website.
Sadly you never see the spine in these pictures. But I can try, maybe they will be matching. Thanks! :)
The Dawnshard book spells it out. The ebook is available!
https://www.amazon.com/Dawnshard-Stormlight-Archive-Brandon-Sanderson-ebook/dp/B08MXXWYT7
Yeah, it's because we live in the future! US Amazon is still locked though.
For our US buddies, you might be able to save a day by going here: https://www.amazon.com.au/Dawnshard-Stormlight-Archive-Brandon-Sanderson-ebook/dp/B08MXXWYT7/
It’ll be out on the 10th, you can preorder it here
Thanks, how exactly did you come across this? Because that doesn't show up when I look for it, I get 3 listings for RoW on book depository no matter what combination of search terms I try, the UK hardback, US hardback and audiobook.
Most of what I get when trying to work out if it's actually coming out or not are reddit threads saying it will without any information, it's been driving me up the wall trying to work out if I'll actually be able to get my hands on it.
So for the sake of anyone else in a similar boat: Though book depository doesn't seem to have it available at the moment searching the ISBN for the paperback they list has actually turned up listings elsewhere which seemed impossible to find otherwise, namely Amazon and interestingly Blackwell's who seem to have the US paperback, but not the UK one available for pre-order.
Is this the correct publisher? Also, this is the whole book, right?
Elantris: Tenth Anniversary Author's Definitive Edition https://www.amazon.com/dp/B003G93YLY/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_rpbBybZXR7N2E
Is this what you are looking for? I just looked on amazon but I don't know if this is what you want
Huh, I didn't notice that. The ebook features the single covers as well, with "The Way of Kings". Maybe the "the" on the spine clashed with their aestethics? Would be great if someone with hardback/paperback could check their book spine to see if it's there as well. (here's the ebook on amazon btw: https://www.amazon.com/Stormlight-Archive-Books-1-3-Oathbringer-ebook/dp/B079Y6B4MD/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid=1532787254&sr=8-5&keywords=stormlight+archive )
I genuinely forgot where I found this. But there are some very similar ones on Amazon.
Amazon has the regular paperback in stock for $13.92.
Thank you! The main characteristic of the havah is a long left sleeve that covers the safe hand. As such, I don't know that it would be practical to wear to any real-life event, but it was a great cosplay! In total, I think the pattern uses 8 yards of fabric ($120+ in my case) so you could always watch for sales. The most affordable option would be to modify an existing dress. If I recognized it correctly, one Jasnah cosplayer at DragonCon modified this dress on Amazon to turn it into a havah and it looked great!
It is available. Here is it on Amazon, but if you have a good local book store I would try there first.
Hi!
I have a Samsung as well, I installed the Video Live Wallpaper app. Once you have it on your phone, it's pretty easy to select the video you want.
1) click on the "camera" icon, select the video from your device
2) click on the top right "picture" icon, to see how it looks like
3) click on set as wallpaper and select which option you prefer
Hope this helps :)
Closest I think you’ll get is this necklace: Bridge Four Badge Medallion (Metal) https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B07DHWHZS8/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_1XcuFbMWH127H
No reason you can’t have the back engraved though!
Mine says mass market 2019. So not sure what the difference is.
I admire the ingenuity lol, but get yourself one of these:

Kindle and Google's e-reader both work on PC just fine. Just order the book on there. I recommend ordering through Amazon because they will give you the Kindle version for free until you receive your book.
I believe this is it right here (you may have to change the "format" to paperback, I chose that but it might reset with a new link). But I'm in the US, so I don't know if the UK amazon gives different selections.
At worst, if it's not normally available in the UK, you could probably find a used one on amazon or a different used book site

Thank you for the update /u/mistborn . I thoroughly enjoy all of your books, but SA has has the most impact on my life as a whole. Your portrayal of Kaladin's chronic depression is one of the most effectively realistic ones I've ever read in the genre. As a chronically depressed nihilist, I truly appreciate such masterful characterization and use it as a key point when recommending/gifting/loaning the books. The November release of "Oathbringer" is perfect for me, because November, December, and January affect me much the same as the Weeping affects Kaladin.
I suppose I only have one question: how many times have you read Sun Tzu's "The Art of War"? The reason I ask is--and this is likely to sound a little crazy--last year while I was reading "The Art of War" aloud to my artist husband as he painted it on a ceiling, I was also rereading "The Way of King's" to myself. Simultaneously rereading TWoK and TAoW (which I've read about 8-10 times), I couldn't help but notice a subtle connection between Sun Tzu's military theories, Nohadon's codes of honor, and your nuanced treatment of the military and battle in general. It is my belief that you've read it more than a couple of times... either that or you're a natural born military genius...
No pressure to answer, I just wanted to get the question out of my head and into the interwebs.
I hope you a safe trip, Germany is beautiful this time of year.
You sketch better if you draw lines and shapes, rather than objects and people. Focus on the things in the picture, and you'll draw them all wonky. Focus on the specific shapes and negative space those things make, and you'll draw what is actually there. It's a Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain thing. Sometimes you don't notice that you're drawing a thing until you step back and refocus on what the sketch looks like.
I'm not so sure if The Art of War is ostensibly about war. It's just about war. He doesn't talk about court intrigues that much. He's writing during the Warring States period, and thus very focused on the details of fighting wars, as it occurred frequently. Later historiography of The Art of War applied it to a broader range of topics.
I should have put a disclaimer: I've never actually read The Art of War. I've tried, but it's just honestly not the type of book I can get into. My only context to it besides standard mass media mentions of it (tv, movies, documentaries) is from reading about it and Sun Tzu. This always left me with the impression that it is more allegorical than anything. If that is not true, and is instead a later interpretation, it sounds like I've got more learnin' to do.
> Spain. Here I can't find any online bookstores that have oathbringer.
Really? Because it looks like both these pages say these versions are in English (each page is tagged as "Libros en inglés"):
Doesn't look like there is a german translation afaict, but Edgedancer is part of this collection of shorts and novellas:

This is the version I bought and it is fine. I think your versions 1 and 2 just have a different cover (I know a lot of different countries have different covers)
