My colleagues all recommend Revolut, as you can also receive payments and have a balance in SEK.
I would recommend that as I have been using my dutch bank account, and that just stabs you a little bit in the back when receiving your salary, and when spending it.
For Bills, I would indeed also recommend wise.com, you can usually pay using your local currency and the fees tend to be OK.
Note that BESIDES the fees for your home countries card, you will be losing money due to currency rates, which will never been in your benefit. If you need to move savings I would recommend to look at setting up some notification on wise.com regarding currency rates, in this way I've been waiting to send my EURO's to SEK as it could end up being a 20000 SEK difference in my situation.
Good luck!
Do Wise allow you to receive money in SEK though? It's not listed here as one of the currencies you can receive.
No, just you. Think of this as half way between a match.com profile and a CV photo (if you're from a country which does that). Make it professional, but not I-hired-a-photography-studio professional.
It's possible but hard. Take intensive university Swedish courses if you are allowed to register for the courses, It will be free and quality is high. Also, look into folketsuniversitet. Listen to Swedish daily. Watch SVT, meetup with people (via meetup.com ) for language cafes.
300 would be an absolute steal. You linked a coffee grinder with a wattage of 500, and the transformer you linked was max 100.
A 750 or 1000W would be needed (like this for 1000SEK). Even though this will deal with the 220 to 110 step down, the frequency will still be different (50hz vs 60hz IIRC) which can damage motors over time.
I've used a 1000W transformer for my food processor and stand mixer (just one, it's the size of a shoebox and weighs like 10kg). Replacing them in Sweden would have been ~7000SEK and the resale value in the US would have been way less. 5 years of occasional use my machines still seem okay.
Thanks! I did my DD but it seems it doesn't unfortunately, considering it's got a chip and such in there I'm sure chucking 230V through it would fry the thing...
Pretty sure this is the one!
Ok, got you. I mean I didn’t think that they use DPI but type of traffic can be monitored for own purposes. Though basically all modern hardware can split traffic by type, even my pretty cheap router. It cannot see inside secure connection of course (https), but can figure out that something is torrenting etc.
ProtonVPN claims not to store your logs and didn’t pass info about anyone so far even when it was international conflict with Belarussia. Forst incident would kill their reputation.
Plus I advice vpn to overcome regional restrictions, not for pirating, then it makes sense
Thanks for correcting!
It will work for all things that would work if you plugged them in by themselves, ie anything that's 120V/240V compatible. I don't think there's any reason it wouldn't be safe as long as you don't exceed the rating of the extension cord.
If you plug something in that's 120V-only, though, there will be, at best, a blown fuse, at worst a fire. But that's no different than if you plug it on directly.
For anything that's 120V-only, you need a converter. (Beware: while I'm thinking of getting one for the same purpose, I have not researched any models in particular. The reviews seem to indicate that some of them seem sketchy, quality wise.)
For flights within EU have seen requirement is to have less than 8kg or even 6kg for dog + carrier. Other than a soft-sided carrier which is needed for the flights, outside flying time I can also recommend a travel backbag like this. when we brought ours, we had 2 flights, then we also took the train from Copenhagen to Malmo, felt she was more comfortable in the backpack tbh.

(doesn't work on my phone though, it may be related to which country your google play is tied to, but this is the official Max app and should have coupons)
IDK, whatever this means.
Duolingo does not do a *it. Let's say this. Maybe it helps a bit with vocabulary but nothing really substantial.
Partners are not that helpful either, they are native speakers, not able to explain all the grammar well and get exhausted because they want to connect with you not to go through with the language troubles. It's okay. Some people are bad with patience.
Now, you have done folkuniversitetet course for how long and still nothing? What's your level? What is your major problem with getting Swedish right?
What other sources are you using? I would advice registering for an intense university course in Swedish if you are not working yet. Lund and Malmö unies have it, probably others as well.
BUT one thing that has helped me immensely was watching SVT and bunch of TV-shows in Swedish for about 2-3 hours a day. You will be surprised how much it helps with listening, pronunciation, and language. Also, find language cafes at meetup.com and go there. It helps as well.
Good luck!
I have no idea what's the name of it, sorry. But they teach up to B2 level if I am not mistaken, within a year. So it's really intense. They also have a similar course at Malmö Uni so that's also worth checking out.
Well, when I was giving the suggestion, my focus was still on you being able to support yourself as long as it's needed to find a decent job in the end, like for savings. I think teaching English as a private tutor (not at school) would give you good money.
Go to language cafes and check out the meetup.com groups around you. You might even meet your future colleague or employer there. Have you heard of the International Citizen Hub of Lund? Check that out as well.
Ridiculous that I had to go to such lengths, but I like you, received my vaccinations non-EU. What I did was get my EU certificate from Switzerland, since they allow that online.
https://covidcertificate-form.admin.ch/form
You will need:
A picture of your passport
A picture of your vaccination certificate
A picture of your proof of stay in Switzerland (book a hotel with a good refund policy)
A transfer code from the Swiss COVID app (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=ch.admin.bag.covidcertificate.wallet)
Let me know if you have any questions
Your EU covid pass should work, if I recall correctly we were able to scan a Swiss one this weekend. If you want to make sure you can just use the official app event organisers use to check if your covid pass works. You don't need to sign up or anything just download the app and scan your QR code. Here are the android and iOS apps.

I can see you're not joking: https://www.trustpilot.com/review/www.postnord.com
Jeebus. I don't know. I guess we could take them all on the plane and then one of us stay with part of the boxes and make multiple trips. Maybe that would be a better option. Frustrating that the post there is this bad.
TOR is super slow for this though. Like stupidly slow, and the exit nodes are all run by the CIA/FBI anyway.
Mullvad is the best option. You can use vopono to run just your browser/torrent client through it on Linux, so you can still use the rest of your system like normal for banking, etc. whilst it runs in the background.
I'd say yes, if you plan to stay for a week a longer.
An even better way would be to use the app:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.sl.SLBiljetter&hl=sv&gl=US
https://apps.apple.com/se/app/sl-reseplanerare-och-biljetter/id918418291
The downside with an app based only solution is that it doesn't work if you lose your phone or the battery dies. I use both solutions (Västtrafik, not SL though), but I rarely use my physical card anymore.

Thanks for the tip about Amazon DE, I wasn't sure if they'd ship to Sweden or not. I'll take a look on there as well.
Just so everybody is clear, I'm not trying to get an American mattress to Sweden. I'm just trying to find something like this: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07546WMY2/?coliid=IBIN5C37DC39V&colid=1D2L8T0SWIBPR&psc=1&ref_=lv_ov_lig_dp_it
If you are interested, you could easily use flashcard apps like the Beginner Swedish app to begin learning on your own some of the basic Swedish words and phrases on your own from scratch.
As far as the Swedish language goes, you could use flashcard tools like the Beginner Swedish app to easily begin learning on your own some of the basic Swedish words and phrases from scratch.
Wow- great! I will look for Heavy Water on Netfix (I use TunnelBear VPN to region switch to Sweden). I'm also watching Solsiden w Swedish subtitles, but some of the comedy is hard to get and overall just seems like a lot of couples fighting (although I've been told it is good!). Will look for that language pack as well. I've done the DuoLingo tree a couple times and doing the vocab on Babbel.. Also have a teacher from iTalki and do an hour a week on Skype- will up that to 2x a week soon. Thanks again for the info!
You can get it here, it's is short and hilarious (at least reading it as a Swede): https://www.amazon.com/Xenophobes-Guide-Swedes-Peter-Berlin-ebook/dp/B00B608014/ref=tmm_kin_swatch_0?_encoding=UTF8
