Thanks for your reply. I want to play Ultima VII, but I couldn't decide on buying from Origin or GOG.
Origin Access is a subscription based service of EA's Origin store. Basically you give €3.99 ($4.99 for the US IIRC) per month and get a load of games to play, it's like Netflix for games.

Google Play for Android. Lowlander 1, $1.99. Lowlander 2: Lowerlander, $2.99.
I recommend it over the original game engine. You should use the daily build instead of the official release. Mostly up to date documentation can be downloaded here and opened with your web browser. The documentation on the website can be used for color indexes.
The only non-minor issue I can think of is that Nuvie spawns more actors/monsters than normal, but it wasn't a big deal when I played through. Ultima 6 and the Nuvie engine block out closed off areas so the main issue for bigger viewing area would be ant caves, but it should be fine. I like using original+. If you want a square map with some letter boxing in 1080p, you can have
<scale_factor>2</scale_factor>
<screen_width>960</screen_width>
<screen_height>540</screen_height>
<game_width>698</game_width>
<game_height>540</game_height>
(the GUI on the right side is 158 pixels)
Edit: bigger viewing area in ant caves would only be a problem with smooth lighting and the min brightness cheat. If you don't use the min brightness cheat with smooth lighting, you can only view the original map size when it is dark.
You can play with no hard disk. The original reference card has instructions. Unfortunately, it assumes you actually have the floppies. It won't help you re-create them from the jumble of Ultima Collection files.
Yep, European market got a folded paper map. North America had a cloth map. It's made of a different type material (polyester?) than the U7 Black Gate cloth map. Here is a scan of the SI cloth map.
>Is there a more detailed step by step of the process?
Hmm, let me try to write out instructions as best I can.
Of course, this is on the PC. I'm not really sure how to do this on the Mac? On the Mac, if it's an app package, you may need to figure out how to edit files within a Mac Package, or even recreate a Mac Package similarly to how you create iso files on a PC.

This is out of left field, I'm sure, but you don't have a PSP or Vita handy do you? There's a pretty good port of Exult available if so, which is probably the best way to play short of using an actual mouse.
Heck, even running that through a PSP emulator on an Android-based smart phone sounds better than messing with a wretched trackpad.
