If you're going for perler. I don't think so. If you do the math, you're paying 2.60 for each bag (Shipping included).
You can get a better deal on the perler website. 1.99 a bag if you order more than six, and don't forget the coupons 25% off and free shipping? Yes please.
Happy beading!
Same, I ruin things via iron so much, and I'm just a perfectionist anyway so its really hard to get something uniform enough to satisfy me. The only promising idea I've seen is something like a t-shirt press (see here: https://www.amazon.com/Cricut-EasyPress-2-12x10-Inches/dp/B07G51DZ45/ ) but I haven't seen any photos of results using a method like this at all. I reaallllyy want to try it, and since its Amazon the return policy should be good enough...
They do not form a solid looking color when ironed, so it depends which side you show. I only iron one side and display the unironed side. Doing this the metallic/pearl beads work awesome. However, if I flip the sprite over and look at the back, it doesn't look as good.
You can see metallic silver in a test I did a while ago here
Colors used are:
Top left - Perler dark grey
Top right - Hama translucent black
Bottom left - Perler light grey
Bottom right - Perler pearl (no longer made)
Center - Perler Silver
I bought thick sheet magnets that I cut to individual size from amazon. They hold great, super strong. I attach them to the perler with E-6000 adhesive (that stuff is strong, the magnets will not fall off) and it works like a charm. I think these are the ones I ordered ( https://www.amazon.com/dp/B004SOV4NQ/ref=cm_sw_r_awd_y6f6vb9J256P8 ).
Perler makes a plastic tweezer/scoop combo tool that works great. Michaels or whatever craft store you go to should have them. (Edit) Amazon link: Perler Bead Tweezer Plus https://www.amazon.com/dp/B004T1UGDC/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_Nff3xbPEFK2BK
Yes. The water beads are very close to transparent, when water fills the voids the small spheres create, it appears as single clear liquid unless you look closely. You can find the beads I used on amazon
It would be possible to get a bubbler in there. It might take some testing to work properly as the bubbles might not want make it to the top as the water beads are pretty well packed in there. However, there might be a good ratio of compaction/freedom to hold the sprite in place and allow bubbles to reach the surface. That would be pretty rad... I was already day dreaming of adding a multi-color light on the bottom to get some blue - green glow but the bubbler would be next level!
you can find a lot of his stuff on his instagram here: https://www.instagram.com/pappasparlor/?hl=en and i believe he has a website too, as far as i know he's just a creative guy who loves video games and fuse beads and makes some pretty sweet original designs too.
Sure here you go.
I did some cleanup as I was making it. Most of it was in the water though, I added a black border in places it was missing and removed some of the blue from the water where it was closer to the boat as it was not supposed to be blue.
Edit: Didn't realize you were the one that made the Kraken piece on here, that thing was stunning.
I got the sprite design from here by the amazing Richard J. Evans. He has pixel art for most of the popular Ghibli movies and they are fantastic!
From Amazon Akro-Mils 64 Drawer 10164, Plastic Parts Storage Hardware and Craft Cabinet, (20-Inch W x 6-Inch D x 16-Inch H), Black (1-Pack) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000LDH3JC/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_fabt1_rfZQFbC9SCB6H?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
Thanks! I'm hoping I can pull off a decent finish. Nervous about the ironing phase since this will be my largest project to date. As for the organizer I came across them in post on this sub from a few years back. Here's the link to it on Amazon
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000LDH3JC/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_awdb_t1_dQjVCb24HTHXM
The drawers perfect fit a 1000 pack of beads. I just cut the names of the colors off the bags and tape them to drawers and then organize them in a rainbow spectrum.
I recommend getting these: https://www.amazon.com/Plano-2-3750-02-Adjustable-Compartment-Organizer/dp/B00IOXKY3I
Don't buy from Amazon though, they should be in Walmart for ~$3.00 each. If layed out properly each section can hold just over 1000 beads.
It wasn't too difficult; I was only making beadsprites for about a week before deciding to do this!
The basic cube design is linked in the album (here for convenience); they suggest hot glue, but I didn't want to spend too much on getting a hot glue gun, so I picked up some E6000 glue instead. I just didn't glue the top side, squared out those edges so they didn't lock together, and glued a small metal hinge on (another reason for the E6000; it was recommended to me for multiple materials at the craft shop). That hinge was probably the hardest part, to get it attached and swinging right!
It took me a few days to get it finished, but that's mostly because I ran out of white when nearly done...
Thanks for the feedback, I just did my second one of a Boo from Mario and that's come out better as I realised that the centre line of the iron was probably hottest. So aiming to circle that bit over the circular sprite means it came out better I think. Or at least more consistent.
No problem. I seem to have a knack for it. I test and help develop a program with a friend of mine....... without actually coding anything.
I find a lot of bugs with new features and help push him towards new features. :P
It keeps changing recently. I've just been monitoring http://www.retailmenot.com/view/eksuccessbrands.com whenever I need beads. There's usually one at least every week that works--at least every week I've looked.
These are the same thing as the perler/artkal ones and you get multiple for a fraction of the price. I have them and they work great for mini and midi.
Outside of that, I don’t have any tips for the mini ones yet as I;v only experimented with them a bit. I prefer midi size perler.
I found that silicon project mats work great for helping disperse heat so the beads don’t get too hot.
I use these and it’s helped my ironing.
Thanks! I bought one of the glow in the dark mixes from Amazon https://www.amazon.com/Perler-Beads-Crafts-1000pcs-Multicolor/dp/B00ABVM6UK/ref=mp_s_a_1_6?adgrpid=56361997392&dchild=1&gclid=Cj0KCQjwna2FBhDPARIsACAEc_WJT0pAxdExAivqPy6pe_EaV6A2OsuOUMjZyX4FIYTrWiLC7xSsikMaAuNwEALw_wcB&hvadid=274695848.... They’ve also got them on the fuse bead store https://fusebeadstore.com/products/1000-glow-in-the-dark-mix-perler-beads?gclid=Cj0KCQjwna2FBhDPARIsACAEc_W46dpd8NWrdD40zgqpcMEJqKlKR3Q0SzJYogPIihCeFzPMly3E9xQaAvWlEALw_wcB. Fusebead store charges more for shipping but less for each selection of bead colors so I recommend them if you wanna make a bulk order
The hooks are spice rack hooks, and the tubes are the tall perler storage tubes.
A link to the hooks, this is 6 sets total https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01K07MYRY/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_fabc_PBo6FbZHMB4J2?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
Amazon has these things, https://www.amazon.com/dp/B003P2UOCO/ref=cm_sw_r_awd_zJT7vbZEBANJ6 , in different styles/setups. I like these, drawers are removable and there are plenty of slots (depending on which you get) for color variety.
They seem to be the standard Perler bead boards. I picked up a 4-pack on amazon
It is DEFINITELY a good deal. Just for the sake of comparison, though, it's $39.99+shipping for two of the red and gray 44-drawer cabinets (32 small+12 large). With Amazon Prime you can get a black 44-drawer+64-(small)drawer set for $55.80 with free 2-day shipping here. :)
I use the Perler brand tubes (https://www.amazon.com/Perler-Beads-Storage-Container-Set/dp/B01LY02KTC/ref=sr_1_1?dchild=1&keywords=perler+tubes&qid=1603830109&sr=8-1)...( don't get the bucket set, its trash) for colors I get that I only need one pack of, because they each hold 1000, but for colors like black or white I use Talenti (gelato) jars that are cleaned out because they hold many more
Found it on canadian amazon but much more expensive
I'm sure some other website should carry it.
Try checking tools stores in your area, that's where I found this.
I'm from the UK. Get perler on Amazon, it's slightly more expensive than hama but worth it. They melt better and are easy to use.
I would recommend a small set like below, maybe a bag of blacks too. You also need a peg board, the one bellow gives 2 boards and ironing paper. That's enough to make some small sprites, Pokemon, maybe link from LttP, just get a feel for it. Single board pieces are the best way to start, much easier to iron!
If you like it, buy individual bags of beads and more boards. Keep hold of the trays as they are good to work from.
I made the smaller Link sprite you linked (Well, I recreated it, don't think it's that exact one!). It took about 6 hours so I recommend having music or an audio book to hand. You would also need more peg boards, it was 4 or 6 I used.

He says thanks! That tablecloth was just a random Amazon pickup, https://www.amazon.com/LEEVAN-Tablecloth-Waterproof-Stain-Resistant-Mildew-Proof/dp/B077FHHF3L/ should be it!
I use these! I had a huge mix of roughly 20,000 perlers, which I needed 4 containers for. Then I use a large flat container (like this, I got one from the dollar store!), I dump out a section from the mix it came in, sort into general categories (all the red and pink, all the blue and green, etc), then from there I sort them into the organizer! You may need to use 2 squares of the organiser for some colors, as you'll have more of some and less of others. Hope this helped! <3
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000LDH3JC/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_5evqFbAYA5VK7
I have a couple of these and love em. Each drawe can fit little over a bag of perler 1000 count. I then have a lable maker and put a lable on the drawer with the name of the color. But that is just how I do it
There are some options in the sidebar. You can (pay for) try a new app called Beadifier. Its the best ive seen at converting but it is a subscription service. https://www.beadifier.pro/ If you have an apple device you can flat rate buy an app called Bead it! https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.byronlo.BeadItAndroid&hl=en_US Thats for the Android play store. Honestly it really depends on what you are trying to do and the size. Let me know if you have any other questions.
I have clear tackle boxes that I stack in a Tupperware tote. Mind you, I haven’t purchased the whole Perler catalogue, but the tackle boxes (with moveable walls for more or less beads). I needed more a few weeks ago and bought these: https://www.amazon.ca/Sougayilang-Fishing-Tackle-Boxes-Transparent/dp/B097JG2W8M/ref=dp_fod_1?pd_rd_w=wM7z7&content-id=amzn1.sym.2e87565b-5db7-463f-b603-f0dc9a67b4c2&pf_rd_p=2e87565b-5db7-463f-b603-f0dc9a67b4c2&pf_rd_r=A3R2CAABMTQBHBF9...
I then label the colours on the top with a Sharpie!
The ones in the pictures are similar to this link.
They don't work as well as advertised. You need something thick in there to put enough tension on the plastic to float, but it also has to be uniformly thick. Mini Perlers by themselves weren't thick enough, but Lego minifigs were too uneven.
TEFLON transfer sheets were an absolute revelation for me. Recommended link below.
If it's a small project, pre-heat the iron on a high setting, gentle circling motions with the iron, you'll probably not need more than 20-30 seconds.
https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B072L82XFG/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I would say don't go into it just buying as many colors as you have enough money for. Bead Surge is probably the best friend you can have. it will take an image and basically show you how to make it in perler beads. What color to use, where every bead goes, and how many of each bead you need. I'd recommend downloading beadsurge, throwing any project you want to do in there, reading what it's color recommendations are, then purchasing what you need accordingly.
But, to answer your question, it's sort of hard to say. Each bag of 1000 beads costs about $5, when you include shipping, I have 45 of my 64 drawers filled, plus the chest cost ~%45 after shipping, So everything you see here ends up to be about ~$190.
My pleasure! You too! At the peak of our habit, i was buying 1000-5000 packs of individual colors. Way easier than buying the 22000 mixed big jar and separating them:
Then the Michael’s magnets will work. I have also ordered these, and they have worked great for one pegboard midi projects: Cutequeen Round magnets
For bigger projects (2+ boards) I would think you would need to attach two magnets. You’ll have to think about where to put them so they don’t spin at an angle you don’t like.
I think you can also get this effect by ironing using clear PVC sheets instead of parchment paper. Here's an example of some
How big are your sprites?
I use these for smaller magnets:
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07CPV7X8Y?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
They are really strong but hot glue on the back nicely. But not sure they’d hold up bigger ones. I have also used the black magnets sold at Michael’s and they do well. My local Michael’s only has one brand of magnet. The ones about the size of a nickel hold larger sprites.
Thanks! I got it from amazon! Here's the link:
I picked this set because its only 3/4" deep, and its a 2 pack! I also spray painted the backing black. What sprite did you end up making? I'm having a hard time picking which one I want to do next!
Tried a few cases like others have shown here, but these are my favorite. It's nice to be able to take out the drawers.
IRIS has a good set of organization containers. I personally have the 44 compartment and each smaller slot can hold 1000 beads comfortably.
IRIS USA Parts and Hardware Cabinet, 64 Drawers, Black https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07DFBSG4H/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_i_EPK6K111WWBS324K91R6?psc=1
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07V2MP3KY/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_glt_i_M1AY9QDB6E95DH2FEAWW?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1 than DEFINITELY this. it's 40 bucks, comes with a million different colors, multiple pairs of tweezers, boards, paper, and even a design book!
They're just mini tweezers. Here's a 5 pack on Amazon for $7 - same this Perler sells, just not branded.
Best deal is to get it through Amazon. You can also get it directly from Perler.
As I mentioned in the video, commit to where you put the tape down. If it's misaligned, you can always poke new holes once you're done.
Yup. As long as there is at least a small hole for the heat to escape, you're good. But if I ever need to poke new holes I just flip a board and use it to poke a bunch of holes at once - it super easy to do with the Perler tape; it takes a little more effort on regular masking tape. Just pearl the board away slowly because the tape might grab it a bit, and you don't want to pull up your finished piece before you're ready.
I do sell my stuff, actually, just not any Mario related stuff usually because I keep it all to myself, haha.
But I have an Etsy that is kinda empty, to be honest, as I never know what to sell, and a facebook page that I posted practically all of my stuff on that I hide from here. I often make things other people have already made, too, like that awesome Magic deck box, I just don't sell those types things.
And, for me, I like "evenly ironing" my sprites. You can kinda iron the back side a bit more, but I finally figured out that all you really need to do is make sure the beads looks like they have melted a slight bit on all four sides to make sure they attach to each other. I MUCH prefer doing this to any other form of ironing because it adds durability without making the piece ugly.
I've never really considered mentioning what I'm selling on this subreddit though because, well, everyone already makes their own stuff anyway. But I'll link my stuff just because.

Yes, my blog. And I have seen your CC before :)
Thanks a lot :)
Not to honk my own horn, but do you like my blog on facebook? I try to get as many likes as I can, but it's going really slow at the miment.
There are tons of storage solutions out there so it really depends on your home layout/ how much space you have available! Some people use tool organizers like this , I have a small ikea drawer unit so I use have space in my apartment to store my beads in individual jars. I got them at Amazon . So there’s tons of ways to do it. If you have Pinterest, then I always recommend to crafters to look up crafting storage there to get some creative ideas!
Here’s the link! 24000 x Fuse Beads Kit, LIHAO 48 Colors 2.6mm Mini Fuse Beading Kit, Multicolored Iron on Fused Beads Kit, Great Supplies for Fuse Beads Artist, Kid's Birthday Gift https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08QV9CMFQ/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_i_M44T4M5YTYAW82JYT1RC?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
That’s way too far! Here the link for the kit I have FunzBo Fuse Beads for Kids Craft Art - 106 Patterns Fusebead Melty Fusion Colored Arts and Crafts Set for Boys Girls Age 4 5 6 7 8 Year Old Classroom (Mega) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07VLVMY3C/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_i_GX1805YDXDAKQAQDDFMG
I had these too but ive had my Cat and my wife both knock it over and the beads spilled everywhere. It was a nightmare. After that i went with These They lock and hold about 3k beads each.
Thanks, I'll have to try that. Really love the look.
Btw any chance you have one of these lying around? I am curious about the temps you're using on the iron.
2nd pic is this mini bead set bought from Amazon. Thanks to everyone’s great tips in my last post my first sprite came out great! So about this brand: I used the silk setting and tape method as suggested and it actually took closer to 1 whole minute to melt them! The melted side also turned out very shiny and glass-like. I’m totally inexperienced with minis so I would recommend this set for other mini noobs 👍
I wonder if you would be able to pull the rest of the head from this Amazon link. Check out the third image. It’s only part of the actual pattern, but it happens to be the part you’re missing. Hope it helps!
If you want to recreate it from an image I highly recommend Beadifier. Its the closest one to one I have seen yet. Just be aware it is subscription based so it $4/month and not a flat rate. You can try a 2 week free trial but it still requires a credit card. If you have an iPhone there is an app called Bead It! but im not sure it scales to the size you are looking for. Check this deviant art thread for converting an image using Gimp - https://www.deviantart.com/art/Glenn-Rhee-Mini-Beads-653967691 Good Luck.
For patterns I go to the spriters resource, download sprite sheets of characters i'm interested in. Pop em into GIMP to cut out the pose I want, and blow the image up to a nice size while slapping a 1px by 1px grid on it for ease of use. Pretty quick and easy once you get the hang of it and the resource has tons and tons of sheets available.
For melting, I like to leave in holes myself usually. I personally like the look better, but i've done smaller pieces like keychains and such with full melts in the hopes they'd withstand wear and tear a bit better. Not sure if they actually do or not however.
Have you got Photoshop? You can pixelate an image in PS without using any extra software. Here's a good tutorial - http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/29692/create-cool-8-bit-style-pixel-art-from-ordinary-images/
An added note though, is the number in the indexed colors box under 'Colors' tells you how many colors will be in your image. He's got it set to 20, but I usually tone mine down to 10-15 because having too many colors can be confusing when you're working with a limited bead palette.
Also when you do the resizing down, the pixel size you choose will be how many beads it will be in height and width, regardless of how big you blow up the image afterwards.
Idk if you're still looking but I think I found them. They're called water fuse beads. They sell them on amazon and on the Walmart website but I don't know if you can get them in store. Here's a link https://www.amazon.com/Perler-Water-Beads-Friends-Activity/dp/B074P8249S
yea, it just rubs me the wrong way that an otherwise great looking sprite has to be tarnished by bad beads https://www.dropbox.com/s/8zpm8v7xu3inxbk/2012-10-19%2002.24.44.jpg i mean just look at that https://www.dropbox.com/s/di2utp29d6jog0k/2012-10-19%2002.25.11.jpg
I prefer these, they are smaller yet stronger then OP’s:
FINDMAG 100 Pcs 10 x 2 mm Premium Brushed Nickel Fridge Magnets, Whiteboard Magnets, Office Magnets, Dry Erase Board Magnetic pins, Refrigerator Magnets, Small Magnets, Mini Magnets, Neodymium Magnet https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07CNBSMDZ/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_JJ369TF32MATYR8A5JRY
Thank you so much! I use these from Amazon and they work really well.
Here is the picture I based it on with a quarter for scale if that helps. Sorry I all ready gave it to the recipient so I can't take anymore photos heh.
Thank you! ^ _ ^ It was actually a commissioned piece for a friend's birthday present. I'm sure that I could design something for Jinx if you wants. Here's my Etsy store.
I believe one of the only sprite rips that exists so far is one that is actually from Yacht Club Games' site. Funny too, considering someone else also showed me it.
Honestly though, if you are looking or specific poses on characters, like me, you probably won't find them too well with this alone, and you might have to resort to zooming in super close on your own Shovel Knight game (Steam version) to try to get close.
Hey. I saw your post from a yr ago but it's not letting me reply as the post is closed.
To cancel your boyfriend as background noise while streamjng try running this app/program in the background. It's designed to do exactly what you're looking for. https://krisp.ai/get-krisp-now/?ref=pratiknorulianto12
I use a program called mtPaint small like paint but with better zoom and pixel grid features. It is designed for creating pixel art but it works great. Here it is.
I use GraphicsGale (it's free), zoom in and turn on pixel grid. I then use the windows Snipping tool to capture and save that image in a grid as a PNG and print. This way I can make the sprite away from the computer.
I used to use this Bead It app on iOS, which is great as it would even downgrade the palette to match the limits of your bead brand and tell you how many boards you'll need.
Akro-Mils is what I got. I got the 64 drawer and the 44 drawer ones. Here's a link that they have for a bundle. I use the big drawers for the more common beads that I have a lot of. There's also off-brand dividers that fit tightly better than the subpar ones that Akro-Mils includes with these cabinets
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01MCSZFVH/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_glt_fabc_R3GHZGC2WHXSREKQ7411
This is by far the best solution I've found: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000LDH3JC/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I've gone through a few different storage solutions, and this has my favorite. Super easy to see all the colors and get right to work.
This is closer to what we have where you can remove the little divider walls to give you more room, but one of the trays didn’t have any dividers at all
ZLY 3-Tier Demountable Plastic Jewelry Box Organizer Storage Container with Adjustable Dividers 30(Large) Grids https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B07QCXP64L/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_ZW5B3KGD1FCAX1F5AMB4
The container is kind of like this.
Bins & Things Stackable Storage Container with 2 Trays - Blue - Craft Storage/Craft Organizers and Storage - Bead Organizer Box/Art Supply Organizer https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B07VVH1LL2/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_TA8XGT19TFPFNNY8CMH8?psc=1
This tray would have all the colors you need.
I would use Black for the outline, Grey for the skin and the hat's brim, Creme for the dress with Tan for the darker lines, Rust for the lips, and Dark Grey for the hat and hair.
There might be some better color choices but this is the best with only having to buy the one tray.
Artkal is really nice in that they have way more colors but they do ship from china so unless you buy a lot at once and get free air shipping it does take 2-3 weeks to get to the states. This is a nice starter set that I first used to see if I liked the mini beads or not: https://www.amazon.com/ARTKAL-Colors-Assorted-CC48-STANDARD/dp/B01M0EP7S2?ref\_=ast\_sto\_dp
I bought this exact bucket from Walmart around three years ago. I believe these are the same color as the ones from your pictures.
https://www.amazon.com/Perler-Beads-Fuse-Activity-Bucket/dp/B000MWQG3Q
I have a whiteboard I’ve been putting my projects on. I did several tests with different removable adhesives over several days with temperature changes. I used mounting tape, command strips, thin VHB tape, but the only thing that didn’t fail (meaning the piece didn’t fall) was these Gorilla adhesive squares.
They hold very strong, but remove super easy when I want to change them out.
Keep in mind this is on a whiteboard - results may be different on drywall.
If you’re talking about drawers like this, don’t risk it. There is nothing holding the beads in from the top, so if these tip, or you hit a big bump, etc, beads will be everywhere.
You can get cheap San which bags, or hobby bags from a craft store to place the beads in, then put the bag back in the drawer and cling wrap it.
They brand is Akro-Mils, I got two of the 64-drawer option. Each drawer fits a little over 1000 beads. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000LDH3JC/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_glt_fabc_GHKGSB5B70S0JCK28SG1?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
Here's what I bought 3 boxes of: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08F3FZY8M/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_glt_fabc_WSFPG86QA7G2KVVWSHN9?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1 I just ordered a lot of individual colors and got some buckets as well that I'm separating by color (very long process). While I like the drawer storage solutions I've seen, I like this one for now because these containers can be put out of sight easily. These are also nice because they're not too tall like the cylinder ones that perler makes. They also technically hold 8 oz if filled all the way to the top (1000 beads is about 5.5 oz, so these have some extra room). They also came in a box that has them in 2 layers and closes easily, so I'm keeping those boxes until I can come up with a better solution here.
The official ones are a pretty standard type - I had some pairs for electronic repairs I do, and they’re used in crafts a lot. But I’ve found them to be the best. Most other things are too large to be able to grip the beads effectively I’ve found.
You might want to try out the curved type, or maybe the rounded tips. Here’s a good set on Amazon.
Also here’s a 5-pack of the “official” ones, but not Perler branded, so much cheaper. These are what I use.
i use this from Amazon each bin fits a 1000 bead bag- https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000LDH3JC/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 (but it has to stay upright, Beads will spill if tilted)
Just checked using the order again on Amazon and yup they took away the 36,000 deal BUT the same people offer a 24,000 beads/30 colors deal for $25.95, which still is the best price per 1000 at $1.08!

The clips are are for spice racks.
The tubes are the Perler Tall Cylinders
I swear by this for literally everything from mounting sprites, to home improvement stuff. It’s very secure and comes off super clean. They claim it’s reusable if you wash it but haven’t tried it yet.

They sell perler bead trays like this one that come with a variety of colors you can use, and I think they're a great place to start. You just need that, a pegboard (the small ones are perfect for something ornament sized) and you're good to go. If you find you enjoy it, or need more of a particular color, you can just buy more green :P
They also sell bead buckets which have more beads than the trays, but I hate them since the beads are unsorted, so I strongly recommend against them unless you have more free time than you know what to do with.
Hope that helps!
I use this stuff. It’s seriously amazing and magic. It can be used for literally anything you need to stick in your house. No residue and it has even kept a picture frame in my bathroom stuck to a tile wall with a lot of humidity and moisture!

Thank you!! I've been debating for months on how to best store them and finally went with the iris brand. I also considered the craftsman bins and a few other choices but ended up getting the IRIS ones because they looked prettier to me and less like something I would use in my garage 😅 these are the 64 small ones iris 64 containers
I actually found some cheap, somewhat adjustable storage containers on amazon. I labeled the top with tape to what color each is for when I need to fill and re order. Works for now until I need more space! https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07PHHLRQL/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_kkKMFb29SDCH6
i just use that. i have a work station so it worked.

So the tweezers I use aren’t on amazon anymore (weird) but this is the closest I’ve found! E.Durable Very Fine Tip Tweezers - Straight Tapered Ultra Fine Point Professional Micro Precision Tweezers, Stainless Steel (Model 1) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B075T8G3VL/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_CUnGCb258JD5R you want something similar. They’re sharp so you gotta be careful not to drop them (I’ve done this and it hurts!) But they work really well to get 3 or more beads on each prong!
As long as your projects aren't bigger than a sheet of paper, you could store them in an accordion file.

thanks! So the fusing step in the video is just barely enough to attach the beads together. For the second fusing i need some weight on the top side to really melt it more and have it stay flat while cooling. 350C is definitely overkill though.
Not sure how comfortable you are with electronics but I bought these 2 things from amazon and have an Arduino that controls the temperature and turns on/off a relay for mains power, i think it works really well and is very consistent (you basically attach the heated mat to the aluminum sheet)...

There are some limited quantities available on Amazon still. A little pricey, so whether or not it's worth it would depend on how much of it you need.

I just bought this one and it's working very well so far. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B071HFP57N/
It says it has a dual-plate design that promotes even heating. It also doesn't have too many steam holes, which can sometimes cause problems.
