Cans get a bad rap because they're the go-to vessel for shit beer, but they're actually superior in many ways to bottles:
They're lighter to ship, they're (mostly) unbreakable and they block 100% of the light.
Complaints about "metallic taste" come from drinking it from the can, but no beer aficionado should be drinking from the can anyway, right? The can itself is lined with the same epoxy stuff that's used in kegs (also metal), so there is no metallic taste imparted while it's actually in the can.

I have plenty of great stuff here in Texas. Hit me up. Wanna trade a six pack? Jester King Black Metal & Wytchmaker, Real Ale Lost Gold, Coffee Porter & Sisyphus Barleywine, St Arnolds Endeavor DIPA (out very soon) & Stout, Ranger Creek La Bestia & Smoked Porter are some of the best Texas beers out at the moment. Not sure what major brewery you don't get there that we might as well. I also have a cellar list that I'd dive in to if you wanna go that route, but it'll give you an idea of some stuff we get. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/pub?hl=en_US&hl=en_US&key=0Aqy5oXtq60_HdFF2cW1oWm1kbFhEUzlTNTk4Yi1XOXc&output=html
Here's a distribution list. PR doesn't get a whole lot, but you do get distribution from Bear Republic, Bells, Jolly Pumpkin, Moylans, and North Coast.
>There is a reason no one cellaring beer for any extended period of time stores beer on its side.
I guess you are unfamiliar with Cantillon.
>But when its stored on its side there is much more surface area for said oxygen to affect thus increasing how quickly the beer oxidizes.
Do you have any actual studies on this? I'm incredibly skeptical. Nevermind the fact that if you are aging beer you want oxidation, but a bottle is a much smaller vessel than a barrel or fermentation tank where this might be an issue. More so, there are sources stating the contrary:
Maybe the best advice is this wisdom doesn't have generalizability to all beers that are being aged. I'd love to see a scholarly article looking at the long term effects of oxygen uptake vs. surface area in beer over prolonged periods of time, but it seems like most of this is anecdotal.
In Flemish, the "g" is actually pronounced as an "h," so in Belgium you'll hear it pronounced more like "hhyyerzuh" as in the first pronunciation here. Of course, I find that unbearably pretentious unless you're actually Dutch-speaking, so I just said "gooz" like everyone else.
>Cold Steeped black malts, Centennial hops, and Columbus hops give this 6.5%ABV and 75 IBUs...
This is an amazing beer. Photo and info stolen from the brewery's Facebook page
Dales is a secret weapon. You can find it at most Kroger's, but if not then of course Amazon. Link below. Warning!!! This stuff will hook you for life.
How do you like that glass? I read the reviews on amazon and made me change my mind about purchasing it.
Follow up: I tried using a normal can opener like /u/BrewerMan mentioned and it works great! No need to buy this device, guys.
The can opener I have sells for $14 on Amazon as of now: https://www.amazon.com/OXO-Good-Grips-Can-Opener/dp/B00004OCJW/
If you want with the logo you have to go to the brewery. Many breweries are selling them now. It’s called a TeKu glass if you want a plan one here’s an amazon link: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01MS1VTF7/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_DkWIAbQNCG1AN
Got a few of these for my buddy’s last year as a gag gift. Friggin hilarious!
Here’s a link to a seller on Amazon:

Right now I am focusing on finding these bottles of DL. I have a cellar list actually here:
I am always open to trade, though not everything in the cellar is for trade. Shipping can be expensive and I am trying not to spend too much at the time. However if there is something you absolutely must have, feel free to PM me to talk.
Yah well if finding and trading beer were easy everyone would do it. Resin is about $11 a 4 pack, but that makes it substantially heavier to ship. I'd like to get more than one bottle out of this - probably 3 if possible. Check out my gots list and let me know if you see anything that you'd like and could match in a trade, within reason of course: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0Ao3FIxMrsZ27dGVMUGl0UjJ3RjdKcGZacDEySWVSMUE#gid=0.
I'd take the Wytchmaker but I'd really love to get my hands on a heavy metal or a das wunderkind. Let me know if either of those are possible.
I don't think I have too much on the last that I want to part with, here's my haves, https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/pub?hl=en_US&hl=en_US&key=0Aqy5oXtq60_HdFF2cW1oWm1kbFhEUzlTNTk4Yi1XOXc&output=html but if you wanted to do some $4$ that would be cool. Or if there's something else I can find down here or have already.
You can find here ( Amazon but comes from a shop from Belgium)
Here's my Gots.
I am not far from the Bruery Provision's for possible sours. I am not a huge sour fan, so I do not keep them on hand.

Yea they do. If you go their Orange Blossom Trail location they have the notorious "Beer Wall" which is 2 full isles with anything from your basic Bud product to anything CCB, Terrapin, Oskar Blues, and literally tons more.
Edit: Knightly Spirits Store Web Site
Edit2: If you make your way out to Sea World the Willamsburg store is right in front of the gates basically. But the Orange Blossom Trail location has by far the largest selection of craft beers.
I've kept beer in the fridge for 3 weeks in this bad boy. Still fizzed up like new when I popped the top.

Treat yourself!
It's actually a beef stew, but the beef was defrosting at the time. And it was not as colorful.
For the recipe, I just googled "beef stew recipe" and used the first recipe that came up. It turned out great last night, but my slow cooker is kind of small, so I'm doing it again tonight with some modifications (mainly the beer in place of the beef broth).
But basically it's:
Slow cookers are amazing, wonderful magic cauldrons of flavor destiny. They can do no wrong, just stick stuff in and it will be good.
> Looks great, both the beer and the photo. Probably the must stunning picture of beer bottles I've seen. What kind of camera are you using?
Thanks. I was really pleased with how this pic turned out, so I'm glad people noticed.
As for equipment, I'm using a Nikon D90 with a 50mm f/1.8 lens and an SB-600 speedlight mounted on top. The flash is flipped around and bounced off the back wall and ceiling to diffuse it a bit. Afterward, there's a bit of post-processing to dial up the contrast and clarity, do a little sharpening, then add a bit of fake vignetting to give sort of a spotlight effect.
The beer was the result of a somewhat blind trade in the recent /r/beertrade Beer of the Month group trade. I'm in Northern CA (near Sacramento) so almost none of these are distributed in my area. Someone told me they've seen Burton Baton recently, but I haven't yet.
They actually come in four packs (plain white holders, absolutely no branding on them), but these were collected one-by-one over the course of this year. There's one bottle from each release; two from the first one (July or August, I believe), and one for each other one.
Your comment made me lol, though.. reminded me of this old ad.
Awesome! Thanks for the info about the Redwood City wholefoods. I'll check out their saison selection.
I'm not sure how wholefoods buys their beer. Its seems to be up the discretion of each store. The Rhode Island Street store beer buyer has a twitter feed that lists all new stuff in stock. Its definitely worth following if you are in the area.
http://untappd.com/user/joegard/checkin/12842109 - Anyone who contributed hops to this brew got their name on the label! I was able to give them 10oz of Columbus hops produced from a hop rhizome they gave me this spring:

Oh, and if you haven't seen it already, you might want to look at Untappd. It's a pretty kool social media app that let's you track the beers you've drank and share with your friends. Again, cheers! :)
Pro-tip buy some magnet paper and turn stickers into magnets so if the fridge dies you don't lose all your favorite stickers.

I also spent a long time trying to figure this out.
They are called Libbey cans. I think Libbey is the original glassware brand but you can find lots of replicas like these that are probably just as good: https://www.amazon.com/Libbey-209-Glass-Can-Clear/dp/B01HOFAXCS/ref=pd_lpo_3?pd_rd_i=B01HOFAXCS&psc=1

I store all of my extra beer and wine inside a 7 cubic foot chest freezer from best buy. To keep things from freezing, I simply use this controller. Keeps it at 50°F, all year long. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01IWIZJHA/
I have a lot of love for STL, including locally breweries.
For the rails I grabbed these ( https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07D2M6GQX/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title ) for $64.99 awhile back. Overall happy with them, no idea if there are better options but they are what I went with.

Heres anew link to more recent pic that shows some of the treehouse ones including C47
well theres three types of labels, printed cans( cant do anything with )
Wraps ( plastic that has a seam) you can cut these but you have to cut the seam and then snip the top and bottom ring area then it will flatten.
Adhesive labels. ( these work best)
I try to use the edge of an xacto knife or even a fingernail on a part of the label that i know ill maybe trim a hair off of anyway , so that it hides any crinkling.
there are a few companies that its just impossible to get the labels off of, some bottles like Founders, or cans like aslin, dont work well , usually bigger bottles work good though. Prairie works great. I recommend these magnet sheets, https://www.amazon.com/Craftopia-Magnetic-Adhesive-Anything-Flexible/dp/B071L97W57/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1525196048&sr=8-3&keywords=magnet+sheets
and i use xacto knives and a craft mat like this one, https://www.amazon.com/Alvin-Professional-Self-Healing-Cutting-GBM1218/dp/B0015AOIYI/ref=sr_1_4?s=arts-crafts&ie=UTF8&qid=1525196109&sr=1-4&keywords=craft%2Bcutting%2Bmat&dpID=51gR%252BOrM3WL&preST=_SX300_QL70_&dpSrc=sr...
so you dont cut through it to the table your on etc, the key to making your cuts nice and clean is putting a good amount of pressure during your cut and cutting fairly slowly.
"Randy Mosher, one of America’s leading experts on the topic, thinks so. [...]
At a recent beer-tasting event held at the Workman headquarters, Randy told me that, generally speaking, bottled beer should be poured straight into the dead center of the glass, not into a glass tilted at a 45-degree angle, as is popularly believed. When beer is poured into a tilted glass, Randy argues, the head never fully forms, and you miss out on the beer’s creamy introduction.
True to his word, in <em>Tasting Beer</em>, Randy describes how beer should be poured for judging at a competition: 'Pour the beer right down the middle of the glass, wait for the foam to settle, and if needed, pour a little more.'”
edit 01: formatting
edit 02: i got the straight down pour from reading the book, but he does also go on about how you're not "wrong" to pour it other ways, just a method he pushes. he actually goes into another multiple step method of pouring down the center harder, letting it settle, and repeating. i've done it but the time it takes isn't worth the result in most cases.
My wife and I use the Wisconsin Best Beer Guide by Kevin Revolinski as our bible to all these locations. It's way out of date now though. (hint hint)
Yes, with my hobby of fine beer and fine watches I’m very thankful to have an understanding wife : ) This is the Constant I have: https://www.amazon.com/Frederique-Constant-FC-330V6B6-Index-Brown/dp/B008H6GT6I
Edit: yes, I have a thing for moonphases
I have to second this. Not only does it have a great name, (like all Evil Twin), but is an incredible IPA. If you’ve never had their I Plan On Writing An Epic Poem About This Gorgeous IPA, you should try to get your hands on a can. Equally as good in my opinion.
I bought these before the trip. I didn't have enough, so I wrapped the rest in clothes and every bottle survived.
It's a Hario Siphon - https://prima-coffee.com/equipment/hario/siphon
Paired with a insanely hot light burner (easier to operate than the butane burner and you can dial in the heat-level) - https://www.amazon.com/Hario-Beam-Heater-Syphons-120V/dp/B00R6YPTYA
Siphon is basically immersion brewing (like AeroPress or Moka) but you get almost no sediment and it's just a really clean flavor. Plus it looks really cool. Cleanup is simple.
My fiance and I recently took a trip to Brussels/Paris. And when in Paris we did a tour of the champagne region. Those were the glasses that all the champagne houses used. So we ordered some, if you're interested
Yup, these work perfectly

Ah I do not have any extras, and I only collect caps from beers that I've drank personally.
Cheers
The Spiegelau IPA Glass is nice but it's easy to break. Really any 19-20 oz glass will hold a pint plus foam. Holds 16 oz plus foam no promlem. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00BTPUT3S/ref=cm_sw_r_other_apa_SqJmxbQ063BRP
It's the Danby 3.3 cu. ft mini fridge (without a freezer). I actually find the can holders a bit frustrating since it's a pretty tight fit for the cans, but it might just need to be broken in.
No seriously. His hands can't be that small to make that snifter look that big. It looks like he is using this
And that's awesome.
Edit: Changed the pronouns or whatever. I thought OP was responding to me
I paid about $950. Expensive, I know, but it seemed to be a good investment and nothing else seemed worthy of housing these precious commodities. Looks like Amazon wants even more for it. :-(
My friends (who typically host the tasting) bought them locally for this specific reason. These are the ones we use.
