Here are my top 10:
Edit: In case anyone is interested, I made here a big organised list of my top albums across all genres.
>Wray's menacing, seductive song made the kids “go ape,” he said, the very first time he played it, improvising on the spot at a 1957 dance in Fredericksburg, Virginia, after the band received a request for a hit song they didn’t know how to play. Instead “Rumble” was born. In order to recreate the raucous, distorted sound of that first night in the studio, Wray famously punched holes in the speaker of his guitar amp and turned it into a fuzzbox, the first of its kind.
>The song was banned from radio stations in New York and Boston for fear it might actually incite gang violence—the first and only instrumental song to be banned from the air. "Rumble" acquired its name from the stepdaughter of Archie Bleyer, who released it on his Cadence Records. It reminded her, she said, of West Side Story’s gang fights, portrayed in the memorable Act I dance scene called “Rumble.”
This is my doom list so far:
Looking forward to the albums by Sleep, Electric Wizard, Acid King, Triptykon and EyeHateGod.
In case anyone is interested, I make yearly lists of everything I listen to from that year. This is the 2014 list so far: https://rateyourmusic.com/list/sacredserenity/2014___a_chronicle/
Bell Witch - Longing is an amazing album that was released recently and I haven't been able to keep away from it. They have a huge, spacious sound considering just a bassist and a drummer. It's a heavy, dread-inducing album that just crushes the fuck out of you.
Aldebaran - Embracing the Lightless Depths. Speaking of albums that crush the fuck out of you, this is some great, almost painfully slow funeral doom. The album is basically two huge ~25 minutes tracks with three mellowish instrumentals at the beginning, middle, and end of of the album. It's kind of a lot to digest at first, but it's great if you like bands like Mournful Congregation.
Oh and the new Candlemass is definitely worth buying.
Hahaha, okay you got me. We do have a page, but we only have one song demo, which we recorded a year ago, right after we started playing together, and it sounds like dogshit (but I fucking love it) We used my shitty little tascam recorder for it. You have been warned!

Trawl through this for a while
Here's a list I compiled with about 150 such artists: https://rateyourmusic.com/list/sacredserenity/female_fronted_doom_stoner_sludge_and_occult_rock
I also had a group over on last.fm but now last.fm has fucked up all the group pages.
I would recommend the podcast Soggy Bog of Doom. Usually there is a lot more variety of bands and styles of doom including sub genres like funeral doom, drone/doom, black/doom, death/doom, sludge/doom etc.

These strings are great. I tune to drop c and have no issues at all.
If this is in your budget then I would highly recommend it
I love that album. Got the vinyl just yesterday as well.
I got the box on Amazon
I recently watched the KARP Lives documentary (currently on Amazon prime). If you want to know the roots of big biz, go check that out. But also bring a tissue.
I've used an older model of these for several years and they have been excellent. It looks like they've added a few new models (and tons of competing), but I'm not sure how the tech has improved or changed. https://www.amazon.com/Alpine-MusicSafe-Music-Plugs-Hypoallergenic/dp/B084MLBZ9B?ref\_=ast\_sto\_dp&th=1&psc=1
The ER20XS's are great.
Also want to shout out Downbeats (non-referral link). Especially as someone who has a narrow ear opening (for reference: the standard Apple earbuds are absolute murder to try and wear), the small size of the Downbeats are a LIFE SAVER.
I've done festivals like Psycho Las Vegas with them without the slightest bit of discomfort or damage to my hearing. Every bit as effective as my ER20XS's, but more comfortable for my ear shape.
The Downbeats are $15. Cheap enough that I keep a pair everywhere - one in my backpack, one in my truck, one in my luggage. So if even an unplanned concert trip or other loud-environment situation comes up, I have them nearby.
I use these. They work great. I keep them in my car so I always have them at a show. I carry in as many pairs as there are bands in the lineup and toss them after each band.

Squishies will be fine, but if you have the time to wait for shipping I have these: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00P2NTVPA?maas=maas_adg_E5C7FECEE6649F6725C62973FF99EAA5_afap_abs&ref_=aa_maas&tag=maas
They sound a lot less like you're underwater and still offer good protection. I didn't use earplugs at all when I saw Sunn O))) a few years ago and felt fine, but it's probably better to bring something just in case.
Do these seem pretty similar to the 3M 1100, or are the 3M more protective?
There isn't a way to push the Hearos in deeper, they will kind of ball up and be uncomfortable past a certain point, without any improvement. I'm wondering if I should try these as well.
I posted these in another thread asking the same. Absolutely no idea where they stand with actual audiophiles, but they do what I want and have lasted me a while. By no means feel like you have to spend this much to not go deaf and still hear the show.

These are good: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0051U7W32?ref=nb_sb_ss_w_as-reorder-t1_ypp_rep_k0_1_7&amp=&crid=2YWALQHV42B6O&amp=&sprefix=macks+h
I used those for Molchat Doma in Seattle and they worked well - it was all I had with me at the time. I would go with a lower db rating in the same brand, though, just in case that is too muffled for you.
30 american wingwangs but these have never let me down. Current pair going 6 years and countless live shows.

There is also a good website call musicroamer.com
where you can put in a bands name and it will show you similar bands and let you sample their music.
Akem Manah, Evoken, Abstract Spirit and Graves at Sea. Also second stuff like dISEMBOWELMENT, Winter, Esoteric and Skepticism (Beware. They're incredibly slow) as well as early My Dying Bride and Anathema. If you want a taste testing area, I would suggest the link at the end of this message. Most links should still be active and there's genre notes underneath each band.

Any idea how it compares to A History Of Heavy Metal?
I enjoyed this, would like something similar but maybe it's too similar.
I have this record player and absolutely love it. Not perfect (a little bit of background noise when I record) but the price point is amazing. I recommend with any player you also purchase a stylus force gauge to make sure the weight is accurate. Guidance on stylus weight in the included manual is straight forward but if you want to know exact numbers, get a scale. :)

I'd also recommend using YouTube to visually see how to perform a turntable cartridge alignment.
The turntable is an MCS-6700 (https://www.vinylengine.com/library/modular-component-systems/mcs-6700.shtml), with a Nagaoka MP-110 cartridge (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B002SDXZ5O/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_rIkIBbS2TMRT2).
I've seen many shows with these, including Sleep (front row, 10 amps in the face) and they're great. blocks the highs which hurt your hearing the most, but you can hear the music better than without them.
Elder's debut is straight Sleep worship... I like their sound now much better, but it's a really solid debut.
I use a set of NAD Viso HP50 and I'm super happy with them. Great bass but balanced overall really well with a surprisingly great soundstage for closed headphones. I don't use an amp because they're driven fine from a non amped source (Surface Pro).
I listen to everything on them and everything sounds great.
I bought them without demoing since nobody best new carries them. It was a risk but I did it based on reviews.
