I believe the M7 can sideload applications easily. I use APKpure.com to find the app you want and download the apk file and install it. You may need to enable installing apps from the browser, but it should prompt you to enable it when you try!

>We are sick of not receiving updates shortly after buying new phones. Sick of the walled gardens deeply integrated into Android and iOS. That's why we are developing a sustainable, privacy and security focused free software mobile OS that is modeled after traditional Linux distributions. With privilege separation in mind. Let's keep our devices useful and safe until they physically break!
I think the unfortunate thing is that the market is very sparse right now with 'dumbphones' that provide LTE connectivity. This is important because 2G and even 3G are going to start to be phased out completely in the USA. The Punkt. MP02 is a terrible device. I had one for about 2 months and sold it because it was just terrible. My advice is to get an inexpensive Android device...Nokia 3.1 can be had brand new for $120 and has stock Android. Then .... install Less Phone Launcher. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=me.aswinmohan.nophone&hl=en_US
Best of both worlds. Waze/Spotify/Camera/Messages/Phone and still a modern device for connectivity.
Can I suggest, rather than buying a new phone, since you have a Pixel try installing GrapheneOS. It's easy to do, it will completely De-Google your Pixel to everything but the bare bones, and you can still install a few apps. Since it doesn't have Google Play it forces you to be very intentional about what you install.
They recently created a new default camera that takes advantage of most of the Pixel hardware and they're constantly working on it so soon it will be competitive with Google Camera.
To install, all you need is a chromium based browser, a USB Cable, and follow the instructions here: https://grapheneos.org/install/web simply clicking the buttons does the work for you, after you unlock the bootloader- which is easy and described in these instructions too.
The only caveat is it has to be a non-carrier locked Pixel. If you bought it through a carrier it probably won't work.
dang, im only familiar with us carriers. Hmmm, I would look into some of the qwerty nokia phones though, like the x2-01 or the asha line of devices, there are a few of them, but they all have the specs you are looking for. i have no idea if they cover the bands you need though.
Essentially enabling greyscale mode and locking yourself out via the lockme app or something similar. Here is the lockmeout app https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.teqtic.lockmeout&hl=en_US&gl=US
kyocera's pretty much the only option if you want a classic design feature phone - the cadence lte could've come straight out of the late 00s with the slightly rounded blue & metallic exterior detailing, only issues are that it's absolutely insanely overpriced online, it's discontinued & it only works on verizon's bands afaik.
there's also the duraxv extreme which is cheaper but admittedly a lot uglier and chunkier. i use one every day and it's got some useful functions (the remappable buttons are so great, i've bound the ptt button to open my music player and the sos to turn on the flashlight) but be aware this thing is a total brick in your pocket.
something i will note!!! for some modern flips you can buy external cases that add a bit of color to the phone. these are, however, even more additional thickness on top of the already very large size of the flip. an example is something like this
if you have any further questions about the state of modern flips just msg me - i've been down this same exact road before and it's damn near impossible to find a feature phone today that compares to one made when they had to be good.
How about this?

I am going to end up building my own phone, thats nuts
I feel you pain. A year ago they bricked my Kyocera 3150 Slider. Such a beautiful device. Sometimes I fantasize about getting it setup on 4 g somehow.

Didn't know the msg was limited. Saw something similar from Garmin at Costco, was intrigued.. if I had text anytime anywhere, it could almost replace my dumbphone. Except I have hours long calls lol so dropped the thought. Here's the Garmin unit (better known brand) https://www.amazon.com/Garmin-Lightweight-Satellite-Communicator-Handheld/dp/B09PSKG7C3/ref=mp_s_a_1_4_mod_primary_new?adgrpid=113471108064&gclid=Cj0KCQiA4OybBhCzARIsAIcfn9nF7gE_WBAcg_0s07k9bmEW7_2RWGqYI8-wDuXCglYWXbAhHQwSyg8aAhv7EALw_wcB&...
On the Cat S22 Flip, for a better T9 texting experience with the keypad, you can try the 'Old T9 Keyboard' from the play store.
Just install the 'Old T9 Keyboard' from the playstore. You can cycle through T9 -> AB -> 123 modes on it. Go to 'Settings', where it has a option where you can set the default input mode to AB, so that whenever the keyboard comes up it is in AB mode, which is what you are looking for.
If you are using the CAT S22 Flip, please try out the 'Old T9 Keyboard' app. Has much better T9 text prediction and is tested to work with the CAT S22 Flip keypad.
You can try installing the 'Old T9 Keyboard', it has a good French dictionary and works great with the keypad buttons. If you don't want to see the keyboard on screen there is a Setting to 'Hide the keys from 0-9' or you could just press the back button and the keyboard screen will go away.
Hi you can try 'Old T9 keyboard', it works well with the tactile keyboard and is tested against the Cat S22 Flip. Regarding not having anything on screen, it has a setting where you can hide the keys from 0-9, and a setting to reduce the size of the keyboard too. If you really don't want anything on the screen, you can always press the back button and the screen will go away.
Nothing on the backlit keypad, but you also have the option to use 'Old T9 Keyboard' as the T9 keyboard. Works well with the f22 Pro and you can download it from the play store.
You can try installing the 'Old T9 Keyboard' if it has the play store. But I doubt it has the play store, since the specs say its a proprietary OS based on AOSP 11.
The 'Old T9 keyboard' itself works great with phones with a keypad, like the CAT S22 Flip and the XIAOMI Duoquin F22 Pro, as it has T9 word prediction and support for words like "I'm", "can't" etc
Hi! I use a separate MP3 player that has access to spotify. It isn't the best ever but it gets the job done without a smartphone to connect with! Here is the link: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09Z9K974Q?psc=1&ref=ppx\_yo2ov\_dt\_b\_product\_details
Lol I keep forgetting these still exist! Yes, this is a much cheaper and straightforward alternative. Is this the one you're referencing?: https://www.amazon.com/SanDisk-SDMX28-016G-G46K-Sport-Player-Black/dp/B098XXHBZF/ref=sr\_1\_3?crid=1FXTFQC7VB7UE&keywords=sandisk%2Bbluetooth%2Bmp3%2Bplayer&qid=1666129484&qu=eyJxc2MiOiIzLjAxIiwicXNhIjoiMi4wOSIsInFzcCI6IjEuNjEifQ%3D%3D...

I had one like this but blue. I'm not a grandpa, just a millennial who grew up before MP3 players. :)
Check out the 'Old T9 Keyboard'. It has very good predictive text that works well for words like I'm, can't etc. and supports many languages. If you see the keyboard onscreen just press the back button and the keyboard will disappear but you will still be able to type using your physical keyboard.
Try this one 'Old T9 Keyboard' . I have been using with my dumb android phone, and it works great. It has t9 predictive text which works great. If the keyboard appears on screen, just press the back button and it will go away. If something doesn't work tell the developer, I found the developer very responsive.
I'm not sure if this is the one being referred to, but the Google Play Store page has a video as well. Minimalist Phone https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.qqlabs.minimalistlauncher
Another one is Ratio https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.bllocosn
If you can find one the LG Classic Flip would be my recommendation. It has the loudest volume of any of the flip phones I've tried and it's the only model that hasn't had any major complaints from my elderly customers. It doesn't have flip open to answer turned on by default due to the small outer screen that can't display the number of the caller but you can turn it on in Settings -> Call Settings -> Answer options.
If you can't find one at a reasonable price the TCL Flip 2 (-not- the My Flip 1/2) is the only other phone I would recommend for elderly customers. I can't speak to call quality as I haven't activated one for a customer yet, but it seems decently loud based on the startup and button sounds. TracFone's startup sound does sound a little tinny compared to the Classic Flip but it should be ok for calls. Both phones support speed dial.
It's a gaming handheld. It plays Gameboy, GBA, Gameboy Color, Playstation, Some PSP, Some N64, arcade, sega, SNES, and Nintendo games. Pretty cool device
(Post Scriptum: For those who are interested, I've opted for the AGM M6 as a replacement. Looks like it checks most of the boxes I need, looks durable, has good reviews. I'll post one here after I've played with it a while.)
For me the big one was turning off the ‘always on’ feature for the watch face. Seemed to really help.
I deleted any unnecessary apps that my be running background processes and try to remember to turn off Wi-Fi when I leave the house.
I did buy a small portable juice bank specifically for the watch but I rarely ever use it. It’s a different version of this: https://www.amazon.com/Portable-Wireless-HUOTO%E3%80%90Upgraded-Version%E3%80%91-Keychain/dp/B09FKYR6JV/ref=sr_1_3?crid=1BVJLAF1WBNOP&keywords=portable%2Bapple%2Bwatch%2Bcharger&qid=1663419972&sprefix=Portable%2BApple%2Bwat%2Caps%2C73&...
Nah I'm in Australia, but I still had to get mine shipped from Germany via a company I came across on Amazon since domestic retailers sold out and are seemingly not going to get new stock in.
Here's the link to the exact one I bought, but I don't know anything about American phone carriers so you'll have to figure out if it'll work for you.
Like the other comment says, JB Kwikweld is the way to go. I would recommend this one, it takes 4-6 hours before it starts to set and takes 15-24 hours to fully cure. You'll want the extra time to work with it especially if you've never used epoxy like this before. This also comes in the plastic dispenser instead of the foil tubes that tend to crack and leak. The plastic dispenser also makes sure you get equal amounts of both the epoxy and hardener. I've used this to repair screw mounts for laptop hinges and it works great. Haven't had any customers come back with repairs that failed and I've been using this method for several years now.
I usually use a tooth pick to mix the epoxy together on a paper plate or bowl. Use the tooth pick to get small amounts and spread it along the crack. You'll want to be careful when applying the epoxy that you don't get any on the gold ribbon cable, as it needs to flex when the phone is opened and closed. Don't apply too much otherwise you run the risk of this happening. After it starts to set close the phone and use a rubber band wrapped several times around the phone to hold the screen in the correct spot. Leave it alone for at least 24 hours, preferably 36-48 hours to give it plenty of time to cure. After the epoxy along the crack is fully cured I would apply some more on top of the crack to help reinforce it. Leave the phone open this time so epoxy doesn't get stuck to the keyboard. Good luck!
Well, I write one more reply for anybody else who is searching for similar reasons, just for the case that someone needs that. The following things came out during my research:
- at first I realized, that PDAs will be accessible to internet even in very early generations due to their business use (Email program ect.), BUT as long as they are a generation that doesn't support 4G or later I would not have mobile internet, just WLAN
- more "modern" PDAs in generations of 3G do also have phoning functions, so - in contrast to the older ones - I would not need two devices, plus: I could have some of the functions that I like about the modern technology without the problems of phone addiction
- after a big bunch of hours of researching I decided to buy a Nokia E90 Communicator. It's plenty easy still finding this phone used for about 50-100€ (or even new on amazon, but then you'll pay way more). I'll give a review about it after some time of use.
I nearly bought this, TTfone 970
It's for UK - is that the same wavelength as Europe? we were only recently divorced.
Hi, are you installing this app? https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.smartwalkietalkie.android.t9.. you have to get it from the play store and not an api download. I think you are trying to install a wrong app. There is another app call Traditional T9 that is not this app.
If you are interested in setting up your own SIM card testing station - how good are your Unix/Linux command line skills? These skills are the key required ingredient - the needed hardware (HID Omnikey 3121 or equivalent) is dirt cheap from ebay/amazon/etc.
That being said, less than a month ago (ordered July 20, delivered July 25) I bought 20 of these current Speedtalk SIMs:
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01N9XPPGZ
I just tested them today, and guess what: they are still good, just like the ones I bought back in early 2021! These SIMs now sell on Amazon (at the above link) for $0.99 apiece - yes, that's right, 99 cents, and if you buy some now (as opposed to waiting another year or however long), you will get SIM cards that will be good for any ancient GSM/2G phone! So for anyone who has been wanting to use a 2G phone in direct defiance of T-Mobile's anti-2G policy and edicts: the time to jump on the deal is now. Once you buy one of these SIMs (I recommend buying a stash for yourself and your family) and are ready to activate a GSM/2G phone, just ask me if you need further guidance or assistance.
Yes, I know that the description says "This SIM card is only compatible with 5G and 4G LTE phones" - buy you just ignore that edict, and stick the SIM into your beloved GSM/2G phone as an act of civil disobedience - it will work!
Print out the directions with a mini thermal printer
I got a cheapo portable receipt printer. You can print out the steps and a picture of the general area. Stick it in your pocket and just pull it out as needed. :D
It's black and white and refill paper is cheap and 1 roll lasts a long time.
Look up "pocket printer" or "mini thermal printer". I got mine on special for 20 CAD. Example: https://www.amazon.ca/Printer-Portable-Bluetooth-Rechargeable-Wireless/dp/B09PBG2PC7
The Mighty Vibe may be what you're looking for.
But if you want the full app, you'll need a standalone music device like the ipod touch or an android music player like this: https://www.amazon.com/G-Mee-Play-Digital-Gadget-Mp3-Electronics-Controls-Android/dp/B08Q7HZMSY/ref=sr\_1\_3?crid=1C4HXICM1UEYM&keywords=android+music+player&qid=1658866387&sprefix=android+music+playe%2Caps%2C96&sr=8-3
Yeah, I ordered one from Japan. It's better but has the same issues―this screen might be too small for screen protectors
It looks like this is an OT-800 that is branded slightly differently for T-Mobile, all of the OT series fit this shape, so you may be looking for something in the 800s or 900s that was branded by her carrier!
I found one that looks a little smaller, it’s not a common color but it does come in pink:
Of course bro I had just woke up (states in the East) and I read this and knew it was my mission. 🤝
Google used to do this for free. I think you can get IFTTT to send you SMS updates but depending on where you live you might have to pay.
The newer Nokia phones can sync with Google Calendar. KaiOS, which is on the Nokia 8110 4G, 2720 Flip, and 800 Tough has this option.
Mmm... in Italy we have this one

but I don't know the manufacturer
You can use BlockSite app from playstore. It pretty much blocks can block every app and also, block websites you don't want visit like insta, fb, etc.
Btw a crucial advice is to use an online random password generator and make it a 15 digit one. Use this password for the blocksite app and then send this password to your trusted friend, sibling, or even your parents via mail. Then later delete the password so you won't have access to it.
This way, whenever you needed the password urgently, you would have to call them & ask them to send you the password via SMS. This way you would have to explain them why do you need it for. And once the work is done, just delete the password sms. And repeat whenever you needed one.
How is that one different from this one at 89.99? https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B0967KLCCG/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?smid=A1P7APHE0CR6V8&psc=1
It's a feature that was removed from Android after 4.x IIRC since it just ended up murdering Micro SD cards. They also slow down the device overall and it's not worth doing.
If you really want to ignore this warning though and continue on, this guide shows you some older methods of moving apps to the SD and formatting the MicroSD as internal storage.
App Mgr III (formerly App 2 SD) is an app that'll assist you with the process on newer versions of Android that don't support apps on SD.
On Amazon reviews, user Lars shared a possible fix. I haven't had this issue myself and I can't say if it'll work for you but it's worth a try
Casio F-91W had it for ten years now. Had to change the battery for the first time a year ago. Replaced the silicone band with washable nylon.
For those who are using P-one, just update https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.smartwalkietalkie.android.t9 for this feature.
It's ok. The screen protector itself isn't good and slips off with friction—wouldn't recommend.
Avoid this one https://www.amazon.com/Protector-BoxWave-ClearTouch-Anti-Glare-Anti-Fingerprint/dp/B07ZWNXJMS
That's the wallet.
The knife is an old Gerber Ridge. It's discontinued but there are still way overpriced ones on Amazon.
Check out jBriones Dumbphone finder and reviews (all found in this subreddit). Here is a quick link to his dumbphone sheet.
Please take a hard look into what exactly it is you need/want before moving forward so your expectations are met. (many here buy a dumbphone and then hate it because it is such a change.
Somethings to think about: - asking for photos/gps/spotify/calendar are really just a minimized smartphone. You can do all that on your current smartphone just by shutting off apps and getting a minimized launcher.
But back to choosing - Jbriones videos/reviews/guides are where you want to start; https://airtable.com/shrLQZhajJAT596t4
https://airtable.com/shrLQZhajJAT596t4
The table shows the devices that are Dumb, feature or considered smart flips if you need Lber/Lyft the Cat22 because its google android and has google services I want to say the Kyocera DuraXV Extreme would allow it as well but would need to be sideloaded or the web version of it.
I need at least what phone are you using and what carrier does it work with. If it's an MVNO carrier, I need the network that is under. Take a look at the database for it to make sense: https://airtable.com/shrLQZhajJAT596t4
Its indeed the same price as the Nokia Tough 800, but I believe this is a better phone, the AGM? https://www.amazon.de/dp/B094JKNR5K/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?crid=30L7XRRK5YUND&keywords=agm+m7&qid=1650607937&sprefix=agm+m7%2Caps%2C164&sr=8-3
Read this whole comment, it will make sense. Unfortunately, the world has evolved around smartphones. Many restaurants rely on QR codes for the menu, banks rely on phone apps for verification, and schools heavily rely on smartphones for submitting assignments. Sometimes it is very impractical to switch to a dumbphone.
Instead of getting a dumbphone, I reccomend buying a super crappy Android phone like this, installing all essential apps such as banking apps, school apps, and other essentials like Uber, than use this method to disable any distracting preloaded apps such as YouTube or News, as well as the App Store, which will make it very frusterating and difficult to install social media apps.
This method will give you the benefits of a dumbphone, without making your whole life inconvenient by having to find workarounds to basic stuff like calling an uber.
While I appreciate the Mod's opinion on this post, they are wrong.
You can use an app called J2ME Loader from the Google Play store or download the APK separately to install and run quite a few of these games. The reviews seem good.
Growing up the UK I really appreciated how good the maps are. Ordnance survey maps for walking/hiking/biking are the best in the world. I'd still use them over a hiking gps with digital maps to this day. A gps with OS coordinates combined with the paper map is the ultimate.
For driving, we used AtoZ maps, or Philips or RAC road atlases. Again, these are excellent, and almost better than even google maps once you know how to use them.
Digital maps have made people dumb. Even though I've lived out of the UK for about 15 years I still have a very good grasp of directions there and can find my way when I visit without the need for a phone map. The smartphone dependent users here in Canada can barely find their way in their own city.
When you're stuck in a hotel room with nothing else to do why not? I tend to get a little long-winded though lol. Yeah I can't imagine using Discord on a 1.39" screen would be fun, so that's a much better option.
The Classic Flip is great if you just want a phone that has great call quality, good reception, and a bright screen. If you want to do much more than that you'll run into roadblocks pretty quickly. It was still available as refurbished a couple of months ago, but even those aren't available anymore. What a world we live in where even flip phones are being scalped :sigh:
Unfortunately the 2760 doesn't have a lanyard holder, but if you don't make a lot of calls or play audio you could use this to attach a lanyard to it. Or it you can find a lanyard with a large loop and pull the loop over the display so it's wrapped around the hinge, though you might have issues when closing the phone. You could also use an adhesive lanyard such as like this, though it could pull the back off the phone so that's something to keep in mind.
The Classic Flip does have a lanyard loop and from my limited experience it is pretty durable. I just got my hands on the 2760 so I can't say how durable it is, but it looks much better than some of the other KaiOS devices :cough: Alacatel My Flip 1/2 :cough: that I've dealt with in the past. Obviously the 6300 beats all of them since it's a candy bar phone, but it doesn't have a lanyard loop either even though some of the official product images make it look like it does.

I used this in my car for a long time and it worked great with my AGM M7
Best keyboard I've used for my AGM M7 or my Qin F21 Pro
(do know it requires a little work remapping keys to make it work but it so completely worth it)
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=ssw.android.keyboardold Have no idea what the description says, but it worked for me. Hope this isn't geo-restricted for you.
I've seen another app referenced here, but forgot the name.
Hey Op kinda late, but you seem handy enough, can you tell if this phone is Project Treble compatible? I'd like to see if it'll run with a De-Googled ROM and the easiest way to do that lately is to run a Generic System Image (GSI)
Can't find any information anywhere on this for the S22 since it's so niche, but you can tell by looking at the output of this https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.kevintresuelo.treble
The Energizer E241S is one of the cheapest. Available on Amazon UK. Make sure you get the 4G version Energizer Phone E241S https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B08ZQFTDLG/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_glt_i_15KT8RGA8FYAMRHJ1R7Q
I use this keyboard/trackpad with my Android dumbphones with great success (if you don't mind having a second device).
what do you think about this
itunes is the one thing keeping me away from ipod atm just because i'm on so many different operating systems.

Something like this already exists.
I personally wouldn't use a device like that anyway. I have no need for a device that only has offline Spotify and an MP3 player. My dumb phone already does all of this.
Really impressed by this phone, but the 4G feature isn't available for Canada which requires channels 4, 7, 12, 17.
This device only supports: LTE band 1(2100), 3(1800), 5(850), 7(2600), 8(900), 20(800)
Taken from GSMARENA
Is the 3310 3G actually compatible with T-Mobile's 3G? I'm not convinced. The gsmarena page lists supports 2100MHz, but NOT 1700MHz. This means you're only getting Up or Down (I can't remember which) in the AWS pairing of 1700MHz and 2100MHz (Sometimes called UTMS Band IV).
It looks like the same story for the Xpression 2. From your own link in #2:
> GSM 850/900/1800/1900MHz, UMTS 850/1900*
It'll get 2G on T-Mobile (1900MHz) but again is missing AWS (1700/2100) for 3G.
My recommendation for these phones on T-Mobile? Neither.
A browser is enough for me to 'relapse.' No way I can have a device with a modern browser. Too easy to scroll my life away or take away from any attempts at 'mindfulness' or 'presence.'
I have considered keeping my iPhone and using something like this to keep myself honest...
Have a look at this - https://e.foundation/
Also https://grapheneos.org/ - this is security focused fork of android. They don't sell devices directly but plenty of stores do sell pixel phones preloaded with graphene OS if you don't want to do it yourself.
Thanks for trying. You can post a link to an image that you upload elsewhere. I've used https://imgbb.com/ and you don't need an account.
How is texting n the 215 4G? Is it threaded texts only?
Glad to hear it! You'll have to download the APK from the Website: signal.org/android/apk Once you've done this, the app will periodically prompt you to update automatically.
Trying to answer your question.
Downloaded the Signal Desktop for Windows. https://signal.org/download/windows/ . Hope this is what you meant.
It gives a barcode, so no way to link it that I can figure out.
2G is really only for calls and SMS -- the speed at which data travels over the network is effectively unusable, so yes, it's fair to say 2G is not usable for data.
The US version of the E52 supports HSPA on 850, which means the best networks for your phone are AT&T or AT&T-backed networks like Cricket or anything from this list with AT&T listed as the Host Network.
T-Mobile-based MVNOs (like Ting GSM) will only ever be able to offer talk and text to you, based on your experience there.
Real talk, though, the E52 is a VERY old phone in terms of cell phone technology. You'd probably be better served by literally anything released within the last 4 years, rather than 9 years ago, as even a few years makes a world of difference in telecom.
Here is a list of platforms for spotify: https://www.spotify.com/us/download/other/ . There is not a single dumbphone on a list.
KaiOS's maps are bad and app store apps all come with advertisements. You are not going to enjoy using this phone. It has music player.
Maybe try to get an Orbic Journey V or even Consumer Cellular Link II.
I had the Palm Phone for a couple months earlier this year. It's a smartphone, but it's so tiny you don't want to stay on it for periods of time. I could write texts easily with a swipe keyboard. Spotify worked gloriously on it. I had Google apps on it, and they worked just fine. The only reason I got rid of it was because I have a medical device and the app for it wasn't compatible with the phone.
10/10 would buy again.
Oh. 1 con. Battery life was pretty shitty. Maybe they've made updates to it, but it wasn't that big of a deal for me.
You can try to look into streaming music players. In USA we have Fiio M6.
https://www.amazon.com/FiiO-Resolution-Lossless-Bluetooth-Spotify/dp/B07L8P8QDY
I did not find this one on Canadian amazon website, but maybe there is another android based streaming music player that would work in Canada.
I basically want a phone for calls only and texts if possible, using a 2G connection. Based on your recommendation and others input, I am seeing this: https://www.amazon.com/Nokia-TA-1037-Dual-Band-Unlocked-warranty/dp/B0757BT4C8
I am wondering if there are any flip phones that are 2G only? I saw the Razr but it has a pretty high SAR rating, whereas Nokia 105 seems to be about 1.1 (would love below .8 or .9 but 1.1 is fine)
I am aware I might not have the luxury of choice, but I am trying to stay off 4G as long as possible and 2G is gonna die before 3G, so it looks like I want a 2G phone.
So you need a dumb phone with modern apps and a good camera? Not sure about the camera but try KaiOS phones. And if you want a good camera and a dumb phone, there is Sony Ericsson Elm. It is still available on Aliexpress and similar sites. 5Mpx camera.
You can view it on the browser or download Newpipe, which is a feature rich Youtube client here: https://newpipe.net/
But since it doesn't have Google Play Services I don't think the actual YouTube app will work.
Fact is, you are looking for the holy grail, and it doesn't exist.
Dumb phone with just the smartphone features I want to use is not a product available for purchase.
I know, because I went down this path.
If you truly want to go down the dumb phone path, you basically have to commit to losing smartphone features and having multiple gadgets instead.
A 20 megapixel point and shoot is about $150: Sony DSCW830 20.1 MP Digital Camera with 2.7-Inch LCD (Silver) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00HNJWUBI/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_glt_fabc_7H5YYDXRXJP6KEDPSYXX
Music is an issue with everyone (including myself) using streaming services instead of buying music.
You can use a small radio like this one: Sony ICFP26 Portable AM/FM Radio,Black https://www.amazon.com/dp/B012F0DGYE/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_glt_fabc_V8P3ZMPW5B88YHD7VRKF
You have to adjust your music expectations backwards a decade or so depending on your area stations.
Basically, I've been down this rabbit hole and found the results lacking.
I think someone could make a killing with a smartphone hybrid that runs 4g or 5g, but will only accept phone, text, messaging app, maps, camera, gallery. Doesn't come loaded with Spyware and bloatware.
Unfortunately, this thing does not yet exist. Only way to get there is a rooted phone where you get rid of stuff you don't want. Unfortunately, that often breaks other software (anything Google related gets all funky when you delete Google services or other bloatware apps) and you always have the temptation to add stuff back.
In the end, I have just done my best at taking control of my smartphone urges rather than going over full time to a dumb phone. I have a flip phone that I'll drop my sim card in when I need a distraction free experience.
If you like to be outdoors, I wrote an openstreetmap app. https://www.kaiostech.com/store/apps/?bundle_id=kaios.app.omap
There is also an alternative app store where you have to sideload the apps. https://store.bananahackers.net/#
If you get a newer KaiOS phone, (https://www.kaiostech.com/explore/devices/) there's a pretty decent app called PodLP that you can download. It streams podcasts so you don't take up tons of your limited storage to be able to listen to podcasts. I don't know if all the major podcasts are on there, but I was able to find the podcast that I listen to, so it worked for me. :) KaiOS wouldn't support Audible, though.
I'm afraid there's nooo KaiOS phone with Spotify. Trust me I checked, and it's a dealbreaker for me at least. The website for it can load but it gets stuck on one of the prompts, iirc.
You can however buy a spotify compatible smartwatch, which can download spotify songs offline, or a WearOS watch that can connect to your smartphone as long as they're both connected to WiFi, using a KaiOS mobile hotspot. You could also buy one of those small music streaming touch devices that aren't phones.
Here's the KaiOS Appstore btw: https://www.kaiostech.com/store/
You can buy feature phones that run the bare essentials. They have WhatsApp and internet, and the battery lasts a week. They even have email and can be used as a hotspot.

I believe phones that run KaiOS as an OS have a maps app. You can find a list of KaiOS apps here: https://www.kaiostech.com/meet-the-apps-available-on-kaios/
Not sure if this list is exhaustive or if these are only the ones available through the official store.
You won't find real dumbphone with spotify. Consider getting "smart mp3 player" like fiio.
Consider this app:

I used it myself. Traffic feature I think requires a purchase or subscription, can't remember.
One of these, and any small dumb phone:
Canon Cameras US 1084C001 Canon PowerShot ELPH 190 Digital Camera w/ 10x Optical Zoom and Image Stabilization - Wi-Fi & NFC Enabled (Black) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B019UDHV6S/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_RYDN7XBRJ2WFHPKA8HV6
You can easily fit both in a pocket, or put your phone on your belt so that you have easy access for your camera.
I’m being a little snarky with this response, but if you really care about having a great camera, this is absolutely the right way to go.
I would love to have an option to only receive calls from my contact list, while all other calls going to a mailbox. This would save my sleep from Indian scammers and other robocalls. I know there are basic flip phones that can do that like this one here - https://www.amazon.com/CPR-CS900-Ultimate-Robocalls-Emergency/dp/B07GPL41PX?th=1
1: US
2: Calls, SMS, Group Text, and this is oddly specific, but there's one app I'd like to run: tile (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.thetileapp.tile&hl=en_US&gl=US), which has been a lifesaver in terms of not losing my f*&!ing keys. I'm not sure if that's possible on a dumbphone
3: No browser or social media
4: Ideally < $200, but I'm open to higher
5: mp3 player, fm radio

He goes into detail on how to fix the texting issue. I was doing some research on this phone and might get it as well! Hope that helps!
