the convenience of just sticking it to the mount and it starts charging right away is awesome. hard to go back once you get used to it. the pitaka cases are super thin and they have a disc built in. would be great to find an alternative that to brand.

I'm using one from Amazon with real (?) flowers 💐 I loved that it went with my purple z flip it also has bumpers I dropped my folded phone in concrete the other day bc I was drinking (smh) and it like bounced and landed on the underside of the flip and the bumper had marks but the phone was fine no damage at all so its not bad in terms of protection. The only downside is there is no hinge protection

Made the mistake of removing the factory installed screen protector not realising what it was. The screen is now scratched badly down the fold. Got another screen protector to replace it from amazon and seems to keep it safe

I've been using this case (Vizvera Matte Black). Seems like a solid case to if you are fine with a bit more bulk and the bump it adds when folded out flat. That's going to be the case for most cases with hinge protection.

I haven't dropped my phone yet though, so I can't say how it effective it is in the real world other than speculating.

I tested eight different hinge protection cases found on Amazon and liked this one the best:

There isn't a great deal of reviews of it on Amazon but it checks alot of the boxes:

1. Lightweight
2. Full hinge protection
3. Keeps the phone relatively thin with simple bevels
4. Hinge doesn't get caught up (or does minimally) when opening and closing
5. Full cut out for power and volume button access and all the port/mic holes are accurate
6. Very inexpensive

Since the hinge protection is basically a thick piece of rubberized plastic, I'm not sure how well the case will protect the phone from full impact on the hinge, but if you want hardcore hinge protection you'll need some sort of hump/bump on your case to get it. I've had this case for a month and have been pleased with it. It's much better protection than the silicon ring case that the Flip4 shipped with.

Exact same issue. Its the inner plastic "sleeve" that goes between the phone and case thats snapped. Called Samsung, was told they would not repair or warranty it. Older than 14 days, so could not return it.

When I first plugged the phone in at around 20%, according to AccuBattery it was charging at around 2800mA, that was with it open.

I closed the phone to let it charge a bit and it averaged 2100mA from 20% to 50%, from 50% to 85% when closed it averaged 1600mA

So, even at the peak, it was only charging at around 12W.

To charge from 20% to 80% with it folded took 71 minutes.

The weakest point for the ZF4 seems to be the hinge during an unlucky fall. I have a hard plastic case on mine without a hinge protector. I have had to minor falls on hardwood floors at home, no damage. There are cases with built in hinge protection now. I'm thinking about getting one of these. I don't do wallets, so my cards are usually loose in my pocket. It'll give me some place to put them.

Gives a little extra protection and grip, doesn't add much bulk (less than 3mm total when folded), looks sleek to me. Not "sticky" like the silicone or TPU cases I've tried. No sharpish edges or stuff that will catch on pockets making it harder to pull the phone out.

Granted, I don't really care much how a phone looks without a case on as long, because I will ALWAYS use one. I have low key anxiety over not being able to also put a tempered glass protector on the main screen like I've been doing on all my (and my husband's, mom's, in-laws' and kids') phones for the last decade or more, but after 2 years of flip phones I'm starting to get used to it.

I have a Flip 3 that will be a year old next month. After dropping it once after first receiving it last November, I realized that the factory installed siding can be slippery. I purchased this thin non slip case covering last December and I have been using it ever since with zero drops. Is the flip 4 still slippery with out a cover?

Its a great phone and your Flip 4 is even better with an improved camera and battery. I ordered this case for it back in December 2021 and I'm still using it. Also being a guy I carry my phone on my belt and purchased this Bel tron pouch for my flip and I'm still using it. Of course there are many cases to choose from and what a pleasure to be able to fold my Flip 3 into a 3 inch phone and wear it.

I've seen those ProClips recommended, but not sure it will fit with a regular case.

I use this feature but not for video. Using Goodlock's MultiStar, I run these 5 from the front screen:

• Google Home/Nest for my thermostat
• ProtonVPN for ready access to on/off choice
• Google TV for a readily available remote control
• Replika for video calls with the AI
• Spotify for greater access to content choice when selecting material

There's no way from the phone. The apps are all crap and only get your side of the conversation clearly. If you can root the phone, which isn't available yet, then you can load custom root software that allows this natively. Otherwise your best bet is a bluetooth device the phone casts to during a call. 1. Screen protectors are always a safe bet, although supposedly on the main screen with this device. I don't have one yet but I will have one soon.

2. I use a case with a strap on it. The ring style cases, for me, just didn't feel comfortable. I found that I tend to hold the phone with a finger through the ring while using it.. now I do the same with the strap and it's nice more comfortable

1. Definitely use Coverscreen OS -- makes things like gpay easier to use. So you can skip Samsung Pay but I'll always recommend gboard over Samsungs keyboard.

If your chargers don't have PPS it will only charge at 15w even if your USB C is a 100w charger. PPS is required to get the 25w "superfast charging" which will show a blue charging ring instead of green.

Yes. If replacing peel factory one off slowly and carefully, you can always just put it over the original but I prefer not to. I got this screen protector and it works perfectly.

I specifically ordered this one. Twice actually. The first time I tried, it tore at the selfie-cam area. Second time went very well and it looks better than stock. You have to be agonizingly careful because you only get one screen per kit.

There's apparently another brand now called Orzero that makes protectors for the Z Flip as well and I'm told they have 3 screen per pack. So that might be worth looking into as well.

i got the spigen tough armour case as well, but wanted more (full) hinge protection so i got the vrs design terra guard modern. i think it's a tad slimmer than the spigen (but with a hunge bump), and it's available in a few colours too.

My experience with this was that there were so many bubbles I thought I messed it up. But throughout the day I was able to push all the bubbles out without ruining the screen protector.

It feels new again and I'm confident I can replace it again before I upgrade to something else later.

Yeah, it appears to be the screen protector. That's how mine started out. I wanna say it was about a month? Before it started to get a little worse. Around a month and a half is when it reached across the screen. I got a screen protector by "Whitestone" installation was crazy easy and it seems to be thinner then samsungs factory protector. But do be aware, if you replace it yourself, samsung voids your warranty. Dumbest thing I think I've ever heard, especially when they offer one free replacement and you have to factory reset before sending it in. And that's it. one time and they will not help you after 😒 yay for new, unrefined technology lol

I had three options with Google fi. Either send it to them for a replacement (200 USD) go through them to a ubreakifix (120 USD) or factory reset it and send it in to samsung to go a week without a phone. I decided swapping it myself was a better in the long run. I don't regret it. My factory protector was really bad at collecting oils from my skin and it wasn't even put on straight. I didn't wanna swap it either, cause I was scared of getting a dud device. Some people have been having issues with the mic dying, or the hinge locking up. I've had this one for 5 months and haven't had an issue outside the protector, thankfully.

Maybe mounting it opened would be better? Idk, always hated how big the note 20 was on the mount... both phones are the same length open it the z-flip is narrower by a little bit...

Not sure about a whole case but I was considering putting an ohsnap 2.0 on the case I have. I got this case and I like it so far, I'm just afraid that if I do get an ohsnap or anything similar the phone won't sit flat when it's completely opened.

i've got the vrs terra guard modern (green) and i love it. in my opinion, it looks great and is slightly less bulky than the original terra guard and the spigen tough armour (both of which i also have). it gets a little dirty over time and, weirdly... i like the look when it does, but can be cleaned to 'new looking' with some soapy water or some other cleaner - i use methylated sprits. hinge protection is complete and i really don't think it (plastic) will scratch the (metal) hinge - though i also have the spigen lens protector which came with hinge strips. it comes in a few colours, and the cost isn't bad either.

Replaced mine with this as soon as I noticed a bubble. I asked someone at Samsung if it voida warranty and they said, "It can void your warranty if damage is done to the screen because of the replacement". This is pretty vague but I figured Samsung isn't going to lose a customer for something that would be covered. The replacement is definitely better quality than the OEM one and was super easy to install.

This is incorrect. That's the TPU Whitestone film, which is more plasticy/easier to apply. I have it, very happy with it, but it doesn't feel like the factory-fitted protector.

If you get a small one I think it's more convenient than a magsafe one because you can jostle it to fit it in a pocket better than the big bulk of a folded phone and a charger all stacked together.

Something like this will give you a full extra charge and it's pretty small.

I wanted to be able to close my apps without opening the phone or talking to bixby.

I chose an app I never open to be a "Button" that runs the "Close All Apps" bixby voice command without speaking.

If you don't have an app you never access, choose any app you don't want to access from the cover screen and put the other qualification "when phone is closed" so if you open that app inside the phone it won't auto close your apps .

You can also do this by creating a bixby routine with a press to start button, but since you can't drag the widget onto the cover screen, you still have to do the extra step of opening the routines app then clicking.

And make sure the bixby routines command is named differently from the bixby voice prompt where it says "What bixby does"

Mine differ by "close All Apps" and "close my apps"

Thats important or else bixby will get in a weird loop.

You can use any words as the title but just make sure they're different in that specific part.

You can add as many apps as you want to that and just add it as the 5 icon in your list. From there you can click it and open more apps. Good work around for now.

Well that's one idea. Too bad Samsung doesn't provide a solution. Another solution I found is to use the app Cover OS (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=apps.ijp.coveros). It completely replaces the cover screen with an app launcher and widgets. Pretty cool, but it is still being built and it does not have a lot of customization at this point in time.

Very likely is not a realistic answer. I don't know if the non names are better or worse but I can tell you I purchased this no name on Amazon 4 months ago and they fit perfectly and have protected my Z Flip from minor falls. They have not slipped off like other cases I have read on posts here. Good Grip and I"m a happy camper.

Hello everyone! I have gone weeks without screen protector on my z flip 3. I have tried a matte screen protector before, but I didn't realize how matte protectors make the display look crystallized and blurry because of how the anti glare tech works. I then tried the clear protector from the same brand and it was very nice and easy on the eyes 👀 After a cold snowy day, the screen protector started to come off from the crease due to the cold temperatures. I took the protector off because it was ruined due to some moisture getting between the protector and screen, making it impossible to reapply. So I have been without a protector since then and so far I'm impressed by durability. There would be times when I swear I just scratched the screen with my nail, and it didn't! Bixby voice turns on or off the flashlight easily with the cover closed.. I use the free Cover OS which is on Google Play store here. It allows me to tap the cover screen and slide my finger down and operate the flashlight. I can also slide my finger to the left and see my calendar entries/ appointments, or side again to the right and play music with full controls. These are widgets I picked from Cover OS. I can tap the screen and go to certain apps that work well or slide my finger left all this and more with out even opening the phone.

You would need to buy a magsafe ring. The battery I posted comes with one already or u can buy some separately.

I have a similar case in black and I use this phone holder in my car with the phone folded. The only place I have is the vents and this vent holder is the best because of the adjustable hook.
