Thank you all for the criticism, support, and inspiration. Reddit's community has consistently been the best source of feedback and interaction online.
My website if you want to see any new projects before they get posted here.
I just finished playing this game; it is insanely beautiful. A really really lovely experience. iOS and Android for a few bucks, totally worth it imo. http://www.monumentvalleygame.com/
NB I don't know these guys or work for them, but if you appreciate this sub you'll love this game.
If you have any suggestions I'd love to hear them! :)

This has already been posted in /r/blender so some of you may have seen it.
This image began its life looking like this; https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B6sRe714OQFGclBvOVBDN3Vja00/edit?usp=sharing
Looks kind of like how I do my low poly art in illustrator, just start out with the general outside shape in a no fill + 1px stroke, then build polygonal shapes inside it.
heres a general step by step of how I did my stuff:
It might be worth looking into how to render with global illumination if you're not already, or increasing the colour bleed.
I think from memory, one of the big reasons why the large white/grey sections still look great in Mirror's Edge is due to the colour bleed from the bright colour sections onto the white areas.
Like some of the examples in this slideshow presentation.
Also, where's the little side gate door under the vent!
I'd recognise those 3 AC units followed by a chain-link fence a mile off, unless you weren't actually recreating an actual section. In which case you inadvertently made something that looks very similar to an actual section. :D
It's gonna be a turn based god game.
You can find more info here: Caeludum
(I know the lighting and coloring suck right now :P Still waiting on Unity 5 for global illumination)
Ok, I didn't copy Timothy's work. The render was inspired by his isometric studies & style. The gold of the whole thing was to learn how to do it -- as you can see from my Dribbble shot from the description of my image. - https://dribbble.com/shots/2962549-Consumed-by-Tim-s-Work
If you combine the structure of the landscape and the camera's perspective you'll get something similar, no matter how hard you try to be original.
Anyway, if you believe this was a copy-paste action, I have to say that only studying <academically speaking> Tim' style & work took a lot of time & effort. You see, he is not using the common modelling techniques you can find in all those online tutorials & courses -- obviously. Most of his work is not generated using algorithms or using objects like a cloner.
Not in pure HTML5, no.
Your best bet is to use webGL and a wrapper like three.js. I've never used it, personally, but from the documentation it looks like you can load in pre-existing meshes, or generate them on the fly (see /r/proceduralGeneration for some algorithms and inspiration)
Nice one, these isometric designs are a great place to start out. I would consider light sources in the room. I've seen really nice work done with the window providing light to the room. Maybe consider how the room is lit according to the lights? Like this is lit but where is the source other than the lava lamp? For example you could do a relatively dark room with just the lava lamp and maybe some fairy lights or something, but show where it's coming from. I would also consider the scale of the objects in the room. There's quite a lot of space. Maybe take rough measurements of your room and try to re create it? Lastly I would think more about your colours. Try to get a pallette that works together. This site is relatively useful for just getting thinking about pallettes: http://www.colourlovers.com/palettes/most-loved/all-time/meta
There's an android app called Tapet which automatically generates low poly bakgrounds (and other kinds of bakgrounds) and changes your mobile bakground.
Wondering where you got the models since this is a roblox game. Are you the creator of it?
This is cute though, even if not your models.
Hey all, just wanted to share a new landscape I started working on last night. Can see the full process so far here: https://www.behance.net/wip/929781/1677703
Everything was made with Cinema 4D + PS.
I'm currently working on a low poly game, it's my first. Itch.io seems like the perfect platform for it. I was thinking about making it free and just accepting donations, but I have put money into making it and would hate to get screwed. Got any advice for me?
Sounds like Banished but smaller... but also more personal! A bit less of a city building game and more of, well, an original one. It's an interesting concept, I hope it turns out well.
The code is too messy right now to share, maybe in a later stage of development. As for the models: The clouds and the tree are here: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/10287720/models-000.zip The road tile is contained in this /u/eracoon public domain pack http://opengameart.org/content/landscape-asset-v2
Thx, I'm using the Unreal Development Kit for the game. I'm working now over 3 years on it with doing freelance work in between, all the art and programming is done by me. If you like a look behind the game, here is a nice short article on it: https://www.unrealengine.com/showcase/last-knight
Didnt want to feel like this was a promotion, just wanted to share the art but someone did link it below. It's called Senras Escape on the google play store. Would love feedback both good and bad. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.JesseEtzler.SenrasEscapeFREE
I want to add some props to the world in the form of trees, houses, towers, moon bases, etc. This game is strictly procedural but you might be interested in Caeludum made by /u/Quade81. He's making a god-type terraforming game.
If you have any other suggestions I'd love to hear them too! :)

I agree... eyes are hard to do tho. Just try some different things and you will get there eventually. Also: this looks way better than my first tries on lowpoly characters =D so keep going. I would also recommend to use some less geometry. It is not easy to reduce, but right now there are some parts that are just redundant. I highly recommend to study the work by Jona Dinges to improve the geometry: https://dribbble.com/shots/1716097-Low-Poly-Viking-3
It's a spaceship/underwater vessel: https://dribbble.com/shots/2021629-Spaceship-Underwater-Vessel
So he couldn't decide either, or it's multi-purpose.
I never tire of seeing Timothy Reyonald's work.
Thanks :)
No I'm doing it in Java with Libgdx (http://libgdx.badlogicgames.com/)
It's really a nice library with lots of support, but it's not as easy as Unity (as it's a framework not a game engine), especially when it comes to 3d.
Hey you wanted criticism, this is in now way negative, i just want to you do more of the things you do better:
I feel like the screen shot suffers from general bad composition. More interesting terrain and better choice of colors for that terrain could go a long way. http://www.colourlovers.com/ helps you find pallets that looks nice.
You have both smooth shading and per polygon shading. It looks less low poly and just odd. I feel having all sharp edges will give it the low poly feel we all like.
There is an odd shadow right at the waters edge. Feels very unnatural.
Trees have stands. This feels odd. I bet trees without stands would look much better.
The shadowing is low quality. It looks like a real time rendered with GL/dx. Maybe upping up to more shadow samples would help. But maybe there is nothing that can be done about us if you are at max setting.
Heyo, this is actually my first post here on lowpoly!
A pack of textures + sample blender scene I built for Asset Jam 2 on itchio. Would have liked to have done more (like actual, non-hideous trees) but such is the way of jams, eh? Made across ~three days entirely in blender, by the power of texture paint and uv wrangling.
Features rocky cliffs, slopes, icy rivers, caves and forest background assets. Please don't judge the skybox too much.
Hope this proves useful to someone!

Little Journeys is a casual, action/ arcade game with a 3D low-poly graphics and physics engine behind. With a simple two-finger touch control, the player flies a blimp with the task of transporting passengers here and there. There are dozens of fairly short missions grouped into levels. Each mission map is designed from scratch. There are a number of customizations, trophies, and challenges included. The game is free to play.
Just in case you'd like to make a step beyond just the trailer, here's the link to the game on Google Play (beta Early Access):

But hurry up. Only 100 copies are available free!
Hats off. This is one of my favorite submissions here on r/low_poly High quality, very creative - very intriguing character design and everyone of them tell a story Solid lighting and neat work with the water juxtaposed with the low poly environment

I didn't really follow any tutorials, just took some inspiration from other people's work.
I think one of the most important bits is picking a colour palette. That has a massive impact on the final outcome of your model. There's plenty of sites to help pick a good starting palette (i.e. Adobe Color), and from there you can generate different shades for any given colour, but try and keep it low. Three or four should suffice — you can see on my model that I'm only using four shades of that brown/orange colour for the body of the car.
Do you think having a look at the wireframe and textures would help? I'd be happy to share those, it'd just have to wait until I'm back home, as I'd need to find the assets in my personal laptop.
It's okay to crosspost. Blender has these: https://www.blender.org/support/tutorials/ and if you search "learn blender" on Google, Bing or DuckDuckGo, you can watch all the tutorials, especially on YouTube.
Blender 2.8. It's free to download and use!
There are tons and tons of tutorials on YouTube that are really helpful. I'm just a beginner and I find myself basically just going on YT to find whatever thing I need to figure out how to do.
I am not sure I understand?
Cinder is a creative coding framework that often is used to send "graphics" to real-world screens but also has some support for sending Serial and Web Data. For example I created an LED installation using Cinder and no screens ( https://vimeo.com/80293293 ). Basically it just makes coding graphical stuff easier; but I can try to answer more precisely if you could clarify what you mean (I might have misunderstood).
The wolf model used is actually not made by them https://www.unrealengine.com/marketplace/poly-art-wolf
They've even said themselves that all the art in the trailers are just placeholders, and wasbought from the asset store.
I made this Low Poly Grain Field with a tree and a tree house! For more renders and the process visit my Behance and if you like it look at my other projects :)
Please let me know what you think!
What do you guys think is this landscape wild west enough for the monthly challenge?
I'm still fairly new to programming, only have been doing it for over a year now. Here's the details of the project, along with the blog detailing my roles, ie. programming etc.
How's it going, r/low_poly people?
I think sloth is a great personification of International Energy Day, what do you think?

The modeling was done in Blender and the code is running in Unity.
You can see a bit more on a short video here there's also an html build of the generator on itch.
edit: fixed link
Go for it. We stole it from another artist. I think his method is needlessly detailed, but then again I just did it for funsies.
The screenshot ist part of a little game called "Hexplorers" I am developing as a hobby project, feel free to check it out: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.philomatech.hexplorers <3

I think you have way too many LODS. The models are already really low poly. maybe you could have one high poly and one low poly but that's it. 4 Lods is just too much.
The textured models really don't match the non textured ones.
I think the price is just too high. For example I priced my tree pack at 22$ and it has 40 different models that you can quickly and easily modify to get many variations of each one. For your pack I think a price of 10$-15$ would be best.
Hope this feedback helps.
I think you should look into various color palettes to mess around with. Not only for the character, but anything else you're including in the scene. The clothing sort of clashes or is not as visually pleasing as it could be. You can create better contrast by messing around with colors and shading.
Here's a good resource that you can use to create nice palettes. I prefer the triad and tetrad modes.
Alternatively there are some image-based color palette generates if you have an aesthetic theme in mind.
The proportions of the legs to torso seem a bit off to me, I don't know if that was intentional. Apart from that, character modeling can be really enhanced by experimenting with different poses and expressions. This character would benefit a lot from just a generic T-pose stance. Overall, good work for a first attempt!
The loop is a little jarring. -- If you change the rotation of the sphere to be continuous through the loop instead of starting and stopping each time I think you'll be really happy with how much it smooths the loop out. It might make it easier to imagine many drizzles are falling across the planet instead of the same one resetting each time.
You can do this by making the rotation speed constant. My advice to a new animator, take it or leave it... by no means an expert.
I like what you did here. It has a nice composition on the pause and some cool time warp vibes overall.
Cheers
I dont see any of these ideas below in your game ...
Your game is not this. It's Post - Apocalyptic if anything. Half-Life/Halo inspired right? Own it. There's no reason to jump on trendy tags, it'll confuse people who immediately see the Half-Life influence. As a dev myself I worry about confusing people a lot.. just some insight.
