I get that you're doing all of this by hand, with custom colors but $50 seems high when you can get soldering mats on amazon for $18, which offer a ton more compartments that are magnetic as well.
Maybe you can scale down the mat so that you can offer at a lower price point?
While I think putting up keyboards on your wall is cool (I have mine on wall shelves and it's great), I think 3D printed ones aren't really the most feasible idea. Even with good structural design and printing plastic can't really beat wood/metal over time.
There's also many cheaper and stronger alternatives out there, like this one. It's not so pretty but it's metal and also has rubber on the arms which is nice.
I would like to say that the renders are pretty misleading, it gives off the impression it's metal.
I think you need heavier tactile switches. A board with outemu purples would be perfect for you in my opinon
mx browns aren't that tactile and they're just overall bad scratchy switches
here's what you can do if you want something cheap: Get this board off amazon: https://www.amazon.com/Element-Mechanical-Gaming-Keyboard-Switch/dp/B01FXF7HFC/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1521265056&sr=8-3&keywords=z-88
and buy these switches: https://mehkee.com/collections/switches-and-parts/products/outemu-switches-purple-teal?variant=48787280079
overall the cost will be around $71 and you'll have to replace the switches yourself (which is really easy, you just pull them out with the included puller tool and replace them with the switches you buy)
FYI Womier can be bought for 1/3 the price new, don't get ripped off:
For people who want topre spacebars save your money and buy them here -
I’m going to have to agree here. I’m all for new vendors in the space, but I don’t think it’s fair to:
1) sell clones of other GMK sets that designers have worked on (I’m assuming without their permission) https://ushopptech.com/collections/keycaps/products/g-mky-160-keys-cherry-profile-olivia-keycap-double-shot-thick-pbt-keycaps-for-mx-switch-mechanical-keyboard. I get this is legit just a set of colors, but at this points it’s synonymous with the set/designer
2) Markup said products when there are similar sets of PBT Olivia selling for about $10 less (+ more for shipping) on Amazon https://www.amazon.com/Keycaps-Doubleshot-Profile-Mechanical-Keyboards/dp/B08QV2DLP8
I feel like if you clean up the store or even just adjust what items you are listing, you will be better off
Just a quick note to anyone looking for OG Cherry G80's, you can buy a brand new Cherry G80 from amazon.com for $83 right here on amazon. So don't get scammed.
Depending on the cap, the level of detail and complexity involved, anywhere between 2 and 5 caps a day.
A basic set of tools for polymer clay can be found on Amazon

Is the Kuiper branding up for debate? I love the designs but the logo is kind of a dealbreaker for me.
Also another minor issue I have with the Moon Rise HUD variant is the font choice. I think a thinner weight or different font altogether would look a lot better.
(Consider Blender (paid) or Chakra Petch (free))
I found these on amazon for $25, but Banggood has them for $19.99. They are pretty good for the price. Not the best, but good for $20. Edit: Actually, I'll just PM you.
Little tip for who ever ends up with this. Try something like this on the scuffs first: https://www.amazon.com/Birchwood-15121-Casey-Aluminum-Touch-Up/dp/B072LT4HCZ
I've used it to perfectly touch up a scuff on a black keyboard and a black PC case. It took multiple applications to get it black so applying a thin coat and quickly wiping off the excess could get you to a close grey.
Worse comes to worse, you can get it refinished in the color of your choosing like you'd have to from the start
BTW, you can find those Tai-Hao keycaps on Amazon for 43 bucks.
you can get all four and a keycap puller on amazon for $7 more with free two day shipping.
FYI they have them new for $213 on amazon https://www.amazon.com/Happy-Hacking-Keyboard-Professional2-White/dp/B000EXZ0V2/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1535465038&sr=1-1&keywords=hhkb
No worries man!
Yes, stock these come linear, however, if you buy these switches and place the stem into the housing of these mint pandas, they will become tactile.

Wanted to give you a heads-up, Tenkeyless QuickFire Rapid w/ Cherry MX Reds is currently on sale for $73 w/ free shipping at Amazon.
If you don't find anything you like here, you can get a Rosewill RK-9000v2 on Amazon with Browns for $79.99. I just bought one for work about a month ago, and I've been very happy with it. Very minimal, basic keyboard that gets the job done, no frills.
If you can't find something here, check out the Rosewill RK-9000v2. Currently $69 on Amazon with Cherry Blues and it's fullsized.
Haha, I get asked about my storage boxes every post. I might need to make a little addition to it. Unfortunately, the smaller black one is a one-off I got from another /r/mm user a long time ago. He didn't recall where he got it from so I bought it off him.
The other larger one that you have, in case anyone is wondering, is from Amazon. You're right about it being a little hard to get caps out of but it holds very tall caps, which is nice. A trick I use is to grab an old pair of tweezers and wrap the ends in something soft like duct tape, heat shrink tubing, etc. Then you can easily pull stuff out without damaging caps.
At 2:29 PM EST, the Qisan Magicforce 68 w/ Outemu Brown switches goes on sale for Amazon Prime day here. That is, if you currently have Amazon Prime of course.
The Anne Pro is a really good wireless 60% keyboard if you are interested. Comes with Gateron Red switches and full RGB backlighting. Here‘s a link to Amazon, but you can find this keyboard almost anywhere! Hope this helps! :)
Yep, lighting helps a ton. I use one of these handy lights from Amazon for most of my stuff, easy changing of color temps/brightness. $30 well spent!
Was bored after pulling an all nighter so I translated the guide for flashing AMJ60, as well as the firmware necessary.

I believe these are the keycaps on the Switch Couture Bifrost Radiant Electrotype60 :)
They have them on aliexpress
You can also get it here with Font,
Dont think it is as good quality but if you really want.

The ones from the Whitefox drop are perfectly fine (pretty damn good, actually). But if it's the "full" set (the real thing only has keys for 65% boards), it's most likely the EnjoyPBT replica.
EnjoyPBT dye sublimated Cyrillic sets can be bought here
Not sure what caps you are working with now, but your only options are both going to run around $35. Here is a kit for SA profile spacebars only, the next is for a full PBT set. Hope that helps!

If you can wait a week or so, you should be able to nab a set from Drop through Amazon.
I know these don't fit the colors you're looking for, but these are some nice decent quality keycaps that fit many layouts.

Just search for TekMat on amazon and you should be able to find a ton of different guns.

Welcome to the community friend! $30 isn't much but I found a couple on Amazon that will fit your budget nicely :)

I think this GB makes a lot of sense for people wanting to save some $ on small quantities of wire (or potentially EU buyers, as I do not know what the prices are like in Europe for quality solder wire). This solder is available on Amazon for $27 shipped in the US though, so for anyone considering higher quantities (10-12oz) the faster shipping on Amazon for a full 1lb roll is probably a better bang for your buck.
Also, as for the size 0.031" is perfectly fine for switches, and probably okay for smaller applications (through hole LEDs or diodes) but probably bigger than you want for any small surface mount components (diodes/resistors), though most builds will not need those.
That's a very open ended request. Do you know what kind of switches you prefer linear, tactile or clicky? What weight? Keyboards that are sold here are usually customs of some sort because you can buy a mass produced stuff easily and cheaply. There are some very cheep mechanical keyboard on Amazon. You could also look into getting a switch tester to figure out what kind of switch you prefer.
Also all custom keyboards are tenkeyless or smaller. If you need the number pad, you can get one separate.
The Cherry MX mats are neat but some of the others are 1/3rd to 1/2 the price shipped from Amazon.

Don't forget to list the switches in it when you make a post (although you might have Cherry MX Browns in it like this Amazon one does). I'd say you can probably sell it for $135 + Shipping.
Sure:

The JST connector on this battery is too big so you'll have to buy a connector that fits. I just cut and soldered wires (one at a time!) to the wires on the new connector. I used electrical tape to insulate the solder points after soldering each one. Hopefully that makes sense.
the only uv resin i've used is this: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07RJ9SSSN/ref=crt_ewc_img_huc_2?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=A2O0CT4F0NW3I3 i haven't tried other uv resins so i can't really do recommendations, but this brand is pretty nice since i don't have much issue with it <:3
I believe the flat versions of these cables do just fine. I have one that I use for a drop alt as well as a let's split. Magnetic cables are really good for socketed arduinos (as they sometimes come off the board / become loose). It helps not break the micro/mini/type-c usb off the arduino.
I agree though with the statement that these ends don't have reversible connection or proper data transfer. Something like this would work. I think only the reversible / data transfer ready cables have a flat connection style like in the link above (but correct me if I'm wrong).
Here are some Durock stabs on amazon. I've already used them in 2 builds, they're great
I believe they’re selling this on amazon with prime.
I got a mx key / switch puller + opener from amazon for $13 with prime. You could easily get a paintbrush from a local craft store im sure.
Meh review but it worked great for me.
You can get them from just about anywhere. Amazon even carries them.
The tricky bit is building something around it that will manage the voltages and mux the data for the keyboard and downstream devices. That adds a bunch of additional components.
It looks like where I live will have another month or more of this quarantine bullshit so I guess I have nothing but time to try and make something that works. It won't be part of this run of boards but maybe there can be a second run that has all this extra stuff.
I got a barebones alt kit not too long ago and got these keycaps off amazon, they fit perfect and have the 1.75 shift for the short right shift key https://www.amazon.com/HK-Gaming-Dye-Sublimation-Keycaps/dp/B08156NG7K
Hey is this the board you are looking for?
This looks awesome, I think I am in for a kit!
Just wanted to say that "BIG SHOUT IT OUT" sounds a bit unnatural or rough, I think you would usually just say "Big shout-out".
You can find a few examples here and here. It doesn't really matter for me, since I'll be using the japanese side of the plate, but I just thought I'd let you know.
Good luck with the Groupbuy :)
Price check on a RK61 with lubed gateron reds, lubed stabs, tape mod, and https://www.amazon.com/Japanese-Minimalist-Suitable-Mechanical-Keyboard/dp/B09SZ6J46H/ref=mp_s_a_1_9?crid=35VJU8BAVD77T&keywords=keycaps&qid=1664920509&qu=eyJxc2MiOiI4Ljc2IiwicXNhIjoiOC41NSIsInFzcCI6IjcuOTEifQ%3D%3D&sprefix=keycaps... these keycaps.
You can buy them from Amazon price went up since last time I bought them, but they are PFU manufactured keycaps
Don't have any budget linears but I think you'd really like these: https://www.amazon.ca/EPOMAKER-Pieces-Mechanical-Keyboard-Replacement/dp/B09BB2WDDL/ref=sr_1_9?crid=2O6F50Y98FQQR&keywords=peach%2Blinears&qid=1656786097&sprefix=peach%2Blinear%2Caps%2C85&sr=8-9&th=1
They're very good for budget switches and they're also pink.
I bought a full set of XDA to try out the profile, but I don't like it after a few weeks of trying. I would love to try out SA profile, so this would be a great swap for me. I have all the kecaps in the set. I got mine from an eBay seller, but it is the same set seen here.
Message me if you still have the SA set and want to trade!
Indeed, that a different set. This is the same one as the AE one.

Yes indeed, 40 dollars after 10% coupon
gotcha - i assume it will fit (it should looking at it)... .would be nice if the plate is cut with enough room to run pcb mounted stabs as well - youll have to see.
if that is the same as what they include in the bakeneko (again.... please verify before blindly following me here) but should be straight forward: yellow -> vcc, white -> D-, red -> D+, and black -> ground
this is an smd female... but could be jerry rigged together easily enough: https://www.amazon.com/daier-Micro-4-Pin-Connector-Female/dp/B01DUC1M2O/ref=sr_1_2?crid=C3LH5L2VH5DV&keywords=female+JST+SH+4-pin&qid=1649751125&sprefix=female+jst+sh+4-pin%2Caps%2C65&sr=8-2
outside of that, no idea.
remember though in a worst case scenario.... the daughterboard will have a female connector on it, so its not going to be permanently tethered - you can unplug from there and just leave the pigtail hanging from the pcb.
correct - the battery will connect to the pcb, not the daughterboard. pcb will control charging, etc. you can probably use the 4kmah battery that comes in that ajazz board... i havent worked on one of those in a while, but iirc its a standard 2 pin jst, so it will plug straight in.
Not sure if this is up your alley, but I saw the Epomaker Gk61XS on sale on Amazon for 50% off (white $40, black $35). Look into it if you like, not sure how long the coupon goes for. Cheers!
https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B08DHDYLBX/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&th=1
it will technically fit - however, the standard pcb that comes with those (kbd67 mk 2 iirc) has a bit on an elongated connector that sticks out. so our pcb will be very shallow in there. you may be able to get a simple extension usb-c (like this: https://www.amazon.com/Extender-Cellularize-Lifeproof-Otterbox-Nintendo/dp/B07MBWH7QG/ ) to make your cable stretch in far enough though
If you're open to a friendly suggestion, the name is super confusing.
The pattern the deskmat references is the classic "City Life" playmat but you are calling it the "Busy Town" deskmat, but Busy Town is a completely different thin, abook by Richard Scarry with a completely different art style
When I clicked the link I expected to see Richard Scarry-style art and got serious cognitive dissonance. I had to go look it up to see if I misremembered.
I'm not sure if this will matter much to others, but it stands out to me.

But I know a few people on etsy actively produce it
Cheap set but really nice quality and they look good.
I'm pretty sure you can buy a 60% low profile case from here, you can choose which color you would want. I think it says it's out of stock, but that could be because of the new year in China. Maybe check after?
Here.
Clueboard now sells them, too, for a bit more.
If you don't mind waiting a bit, Massdrop has a group buy on PBT blanks in various colors.
It breaks your budget slightly, but should be a little cheaper than what u/n__dles suggested at the cost of shipping speed.
Full disclosure: that's my referral link, but I have no idea what it does for me, if anything.
Edit: I also found this set on AliExpress, though I've never ordered from there before.
I actually introduced my gf to mechs a few weeks ago and she was so sad that I missed the meowcaps sale, If for some reason you don't trade all of them I'd love to buy one white/pink (I also have this keycap https://gyazo.com/ac9e29d52d806390c136419c7d7c36ce but dont think you're interested on that)Anyway, GLWS!
